Olly Murs looks pretty upset after Rita Ora snubbed him on The X Factor

X Factor fans were left wondering if Olly Murs was about to cry on Saturday night as Rita Ora majorly snubbed him when she listed acts from the show who have ‘made an impression’.

Olly’s name was left off the very short list and there was clear #sadnessinhiseyes as he tried to move on.

‘Honestly, I’ve watched this show and been such a fan of this show but only two people have ever made an impression and that’s Leona [Lewis] and Louisa,’ said Rita as she hugged Louisa, the 2015 X Factor winner.

Former Doctor Who star Christopher Eccleston reprises his role as ninth Doctor in message for sick fan

He quit Doctor Who in 2005 after just one series and turned down the chance to return for the 50th anniversary special two years ago.

But Christopher Eccleston has chosen to reprise his role as the ninth Doctor in a special video for a sick fan.

The 51-year-old actor refers to himself as ‘number nine’ in the touching message to 14-year-old Daniel, who suffers from Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) (a genetic condition which affects the connective tissue in the body) and Postural tachycardia syndrome (POTS) (a condition which affects his heart rate).

Alan Partridge appears to be getting thrown into a lake by some hoodlums in high-vis jackets in this shot from an upcoming Christmas special.

The snap caught Steve Coogan’s toe-curling DJ getting a dunking at a remote location by the Dovestone Reservoir in The Peak Districts.

Could this be part of Alan’s new show, Knowing Me, Knowing Youths?

Whatever the case may be, it’s fair to say the Norwich fame-hunter, returning for a new series of Mid Morning Matters next year, doesn’t have much luck around water.

Previously he was trapped under a cow whilst filming a corporate video on the Norfolk Broads.

Remember how excited everyone was when rumours of a Xena: Warrior Princess reboot came out?

Back in July reports revealed NBC and NBC Universal Internation were working on bringing the action-packed show back to TV.

Karren Brady has revealed she was offered a spot on Strictly Come Dancing but turned it down.

Brady, who is Lord Sugar’s business advisor on The Apprentice, won’t be swapping the boardroom for the ballroom any time soon.

She told The Sunday Times that she has no interest in appearing on the BBC One show, or any other reality TV show for that matter.

Downton Abbey star Michelle Dockery’s partner John Dineen dies aged 34

Downton Abbey star Michelle Dockery, who plays Lady Mary Crawley in the costume drama, has reportedly been left devastated following the death of her partner John Dineen, aged just 34.

According to the Irish Examiner, Dineen, who was rumoured to be Dockery’s fiance, passed away in Cork’s Marymount Hospital on Sunday after an illness. The pair have always maintained privacy around their relationship with Dockery once saying: ‘I have a wonderful man in my life from Ireland. We were introduced by Allen Leech. That’s all you need to know.’

Michelle, who is also 34, was reported to have been showing off an engagement ring earlier this year, although this was never confirmed.

Brian Cox reckons Hollywood should make a movie about UK astronaut Tim Peake: ‘yeah, why not?’

On Tuesday 15 December, Tim Peake will be embarking on his six-month mission into space, the first UK astronaut to do so.

And documenting his journey to the International Space Station will be Professor Brian Cox, along with Dara O Briain, on the BBC, live from the London’s Science Museum.

‘I think it’s tremendously exciting, the country hasn’t had something of this scale to watch together for a long, long time,’ Brian tells Metro.co.uk.

‘But I’d be surprised if it was the global audience of the moon landing though!’

What’s not to love about Nigella Lawson’s bundts?

In her BBC Christmas special Simply Nigella, the famous cook travelled to Kansas City to find her festive spirit and while there was inspired to have a go at the Christmas tradition of making a bundt cake.

Apparently one of the easier cakes to make, the cook attempted three different sorts and implored viewers to have a go because of their easiness to make.

‘It’s just a case of mixing dry ingredients into wet ingredients,’ she told viewers as she makes three of the ridiculously gorgeous looking bundt cakes.

Crime show behemoth Luther is back for the first of a two-part special tonight and it’s been a hell of a wait.

We last saw our favourite troubled detective John Luther, played by Idris Elba, on our telly screens way back in July 2013.

Now in the first episode of series four, he begins by telling his new colleague DS Emma Jones, played by Game of Thrones’ Rose Leslie: ‘There are some things you might have heard about me that could be true.’

Mate, if she’d seen the first three series she’d be running a mile.
