Jay Brown may have had a quiet time of it lately – but all that’s set to change when the character is thrown into a huge storyline which producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins has promised is his ‘biggest yet’.

Fans have often bemoaned the lack of screentime for Jay, played by actor Jamie Borthwick. He has recently been involved in the repercussions of Phil’s drinking and was previously left heartbroken by the departure of Lola Pearce.

His strongest moments came in the hard-hitting storyline which say his dad Jase killed by thugs.

There’s more drama in an EastEnders Christmas than there is in an entire series of Game Of Thrones and this brand new trailer will whet your appetite for the festive episodes.

Teasing the upcoming events of Christmas and New Year, the two-minute teaser promises death, shocks, threats and plenty of secrets spilling.

And the most tense storylines are coming from the Beales and the Mitchells as while Vincent and Phil’s war rages on, with Vincent even taking a gun to Sharon, evil Bobby is brewing something up behind closed doors and it’s only a matter of time before something terrible happens (like murdering a turkey, perhaps).

Kat and Alfie are also back in Walford, along with Sister Ruth, and Charlie Slater will be spending his last Christmas with his family before his death (no spoiler alert here, folks, it was confirmed last month).

Elsewhere, Roxy and Dean reach breaking point as Shirley finally realises… Read the full story

Jamie dies
(Picture: BBC)

Walford is not a great place to be at Christmas time.

Over the last three decades there has barely been a good Christmas for the residents of Albert Square.

The festive period is the time a well-loved character is likely to cark it, like Pauline Fowler, Tiffany Butcher got hit by a car, Jamie died after proposing to Sonya on his death bed.

Grim times.

Christmas is also the time when other bad things happen, like Phil setting fire to the pub, Linda’s rape coming to light, and Stacy and Max’s affair being uncovered. The dismal Christmases kicked off when Den served Angie with divorce papers back… Read the full story

However festive they might look, even festive jumpers can let you down when you’re least expecting it.

As Christine Bleakley discovered when her own Christmas knit suffered a bit of a wardrobe malfunction midway through Friday night’s Text Santa.

The presenter – who’s due to tie the knot with fiance Frank Lampard this weekend – was wearing a rather fetching festive number complete with strategically placed Christmas puddings as she took to the stage alongside co-presenter Holly Willoughby.

Until the jumper decided to light up – rather unexpectedly, judging from her reaction:

We all know that the Strictly final is meant to be about the dancing – but Claudia Winkleman’s choice of attire provided a brief distraction from the quest for the Glitterball trophy.

While Tess Daly opted for a grey and black strapless number for the first half of the 2015 final, her co-host took to the dancefloor in a black lace number with a rather sheer neckline.

One which – much to the alarm of some viewers – revealed rather more underboob than they might be used to seeing on their TVs on a Saturday night.

Your eyes were not deceiving you. Ola Jordan did indeed show up in Saturday’s Strictly Come Dancing final as she bid a final farewell to the ballroom.

The former Glitterball trophy winner had not been seen on the show since she announced last month that she had quit the series – leading to speculation that she wouldn’t be returning at all.
