There is a huge twist coming to The Traitors US – before the contestants even step foot in the iconic castle.
Season three of the hit game show will be premiering on January 9, with host Alan Cumming returning to keep order as the star-studded cast battle to weed out the traitors in their pack of faithfuls.
Although the UK version is kicking off tonight on BBC, Peacock bosses couldn’t let them have all the fun and dropped a sneak peek online, blessing us all with the first seven minutes of the upcoming series.
The footage saw the celeb-filled cast – including Vanderpump Rules star Tom Sandoval, Selling Sunset’s Chrishell Stause, and Britney Spears’ ex-husband, Sam Asghari – line up in front of the stunning Scotland property, where they were greeted by a bombshell twist.
As Alan welcomed the gang to the game, he was joined by a creepy figure, dressed in a long black cloak and gold mask.
‘How intriguing…,’ the presenter teased. ‘This game is all about tough decisions and this is the first of many.
‘This is not one of my followers, this is someone who is dying to join our little game.

The secret player was unveiled as competition show veteran Rob ‘Boston Rob’ Mariano, who has appeared on Survivor several times, and also competed in Deal Or No Deal Island and two seasons of the Amazing Race.
Will any of the players step up and let him join in the fun? Sadly, we’ll have to wait a week to find out…
The third season of the Traitors US will hit our screens in just a few days, but it is not clear when the episodes will land on BBC iPlayer in the UK.
Thankfully, the UK series is premiering tonight so there is more than enough drama to fill the void.
Those twists haven’t just been saved for the US version as presenter Claudia Winkleman teased that there will be many turns ahead across the pond.
‘Like any good murder mystery, the plot is always full of twists and turns,’ she said. ‘There’s one twist this year which will hopefully have viewers on the edge of their seat.
‘I would love to tell you all about series three, but then I will get fired so I can tell you absolutely nothing. What I will tell you is that things are different this year.
‘There are some really exciting things that have changed, which keeps everyone on the toes and feeds into the central premise of trust! I can’t wait for everyone to see.’
The Traitors US season three premieres on January 9 on Peacock.
