Looks like the drama in hit TV show Empire is transpiring in reality as Marvin Gaye’s son is suing Fox and Lee Daniels for stealing his idea.
According to TMZ, Marvin Gaye III plans to file a lawsuit against the show creator and network for using his TV treatment for a show called Diamonds & Ballads as the basis for the critically-acclaimed series.
Gaye says he registered a treatment for his show – centred on a family in the music business and loosely based on his own relatives family and the Berry Gordy household – with the Writers Guild of America back in 2010.
