Anne Robinson quits BBC One’s Watchdog after 15 years for new factual show

TV presenter Anne Robinson has announced that she is quitting BBC One show Watchdog after 15 years.

The 70-year-old will step down in order to front a major new factual series for the Beeb, which is due to begin filming this autumn.

The new show will follow the recent success of Britain’s Spending Secrets – which pulled in around 5.7m viewers when it aired over the summer.

Anne said of her departure: ‘It’s been an honour to be part of the most important consumer show in Britain.’

Meanwhile BBC One controller Charlotte Moore added: ‘Anne is a much-treasured part of the BBC1 family and I’m grateful for everything she has done on Watchdog… Read the full story
