Ever harboured ambitions of living in the Fawlty Towers hotel? Because that dream is now set to become a reality.
That is, if you’re aged over 65 and have a little money in the bank – because plans have been announced for the Gleneagles, the Torquay hotel which inspired the classic 70s sitcom, to be turned in to retirement flats.
According to local paper the Torquay Herald Express, specialist builders Churchill Retirement Living have submitted plans for 33 properties to be built on the site of the Gleneagles, which closed earlier this year.
