He must have known that he would be the butt of every single joke when he returned to BBC panel show Have I Got News For You – and Jeremy Clarkson, as expected, is given a very rough ride in tonight’s show.
As the series returns for its 50th run, Clarkson takes over hosting duties and, as you will have guessed, it becomes a bit of a running theme for guests, including team captains Ian Hislop and Paul Merton, to take swipes at the former Top Gear presenter.
Clarkson was sacked from the motoring show after punching a producer and has since been signed up by Amazon Prime with Richard Hammond and James May to work on a new, high budget show.
