New crime drama River has premiered on BBC1 and it’s gone down a treat.
The spooky new six-part started off with an epic twist by revealing that detective Stevie (Nicola Walker) was actually a ghost.
Stevie was one of the many dead ‘manifests’ who appeared to detective John River (Stellan Skarsgard) although we weren’t sure if they were real or symptoms of his mental breakdown.
Skarsgard told the Radio Times: ‘There’s nothing superstitious about it – it’s not ghosts, nothing metaphysical or anything.
