An expert is calling for One Born Every Minute to be banned for ‘frightening pregnant women’.
There’s a certain fascination surrounding childbirth, and the Channel 4 programme allows people who haven’t experienced it to have a glimpse at what it would be like.
But one expert has argued that it doesn’t in fact show what it’s like. The often show depicts women writhing and screaming in pain, sometimes making for uncomfortable viewing, and natural childbirth coach Alexia Leachman says that it’s not how it is.
She goes as far as to say the show should be completely pulled from air for ‘terrifying’ expectant mums with the footage of traumatic births, and has started a petition to do so.
