The penultimate episode of the sixth and final season of Downton Abbey was a fast-moving affair.
The family watched a dramatic motor race, in which Mary revealed her knowledge by telling her mother that they ‘go round and round’, Lady Edith was proposed to and Robert finally got a new puppy.
What happened in the house?
The family actually left the house and decamped to Brooklands to watch Henry Talbot race his new car.
Despite still convalescing, Lord Grantham insisted on going along to see what was so fascinating about Mary’s new love interest, saying that Lady Cora would think it ‘sex appeal’.
