The John Lewis Christmas advert is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated milestones of the festive period – to many, it’s when Christmas officially starts.
So imagine the disappointment some Twitter users had when someone tweeted that the John Lewis ad had finally dropped only to find it wasn’t what they were expecting at all.
There were no cute furry animal friends, no cuddly toy penguins, no snowmen heading on a journey and the musician-of-the-moment hadn’t covered a Christmas classic as background music either. It didn’t even make us cry.
