There’s a new contender in the race to nab the 2015 Christmas TV ad crown – and it comes in the shape of Aldi’s festive effort.
The ad, which aired on ITV on Friday night right after Coronation Street, takes its cue from The Sound Of Music as it offers a visually impressive – if more traditional – look at the supermarket chain’s festive fair.
Which means we’re treated to gingerbread houses, strawberries and champers, igloos, Santa heading down the chimney, Christmas stockings, chirping robins and pretty much everything in between.
Oh, and just for good measure there’s a woman ice-skating across a Christmas cake:
