Strictly Come Dancing favourite Peter Andre has revealed that his father Savvas Andrea was sold as a slave aged 11.
82-year-old Savvas only recently told his son about his childhood, explaining that in the wake of the Second World War, it was his family’s only option to survive.
Speaking to Radio Times, Peter explained: ‘It’s very interesting with my dad because at 11-years-old in Cyprus, he was sold as a slave. There were 13 kids. And they had no food, no money. So some of the kids had to be sold to earn money for the family.’
