Amy Winehouse

The documentary about Amy Winehouse’s life was aired on TV for the first time and it left viewers devastated at seeing the way her life entered a downward spiral.

The film was originally released in July 2015, and January 8 2016 marked the day Channel 4 decided to air it to the greater public. The movie showed the tragic direction the singer’s life took following a life of troubled relationships, self harm, eating disorders and battling drink and drug addictions.

All the while she was making the most incredible music that touched the lives of many. The film followed her life up until her tragic death at the age of 27 from alcohol poisoning in her Camden flat in 2011.

The movie’s frank portrayal of her life, including her tumultuous relationship with her ex husband Blake Fielder-Civil and with her dad Mitch Winehouse, was both compelling and heartbreaking for viewers.
