Coronation Street star Michael La Vell has signed a £150,000 contract with ITV ensuring fans will have at least another year of mechanic Kevin Webster.
The contract reportedly left Michael ‘over-the-moon’ having been offered the extension following a battle with a drinking problem.
Michael, 51, has been sober for two years after acknowledging he had an alcohol problem, drinking 12 pints a day and snorting cocaine.
A source told The Mirror though that ‘he knows he has too much to lose’ and that bosses have been ‘impressed’ with Michael’s dedication.
However, bosses may be wary after he was spotted with a pint in hand on New Year’s Eve.
