EastEnders fans are facing the end of an era as the show have confirmed that Peggy Mitchell is to be killed off later this year.
Viewers saw a surprise appearance from Peggy during Friday’s episode where she told her struggling son Phil that her cancer had returned.
We can now reveal that Dame Barbara Windsor will reprise the role once more – for the final time which will see her bid farewell to her legendary alter ego.
The scenes viewers saw were secretly filmed last November and Windsor admitted that it was her decision to have Peggy killed off.
