Emmerdale are to tackle the issue of historical child abuse in an emotional new storyline for Aaron Livesy.
Viewers have seen Aaron tearfully admit to his former boyfriend Robert Sugden that he was raped by his father Gordon as a child. It is the beginning of one of soap’s most challenging and difficult storylines.
While the issue of child abuse has been tackled in soap before, the scenes Emmerdale fans will see over coming weeks are particularly raw and will do a lot to explain Aaron’s volatile nature and his recent self-harming following Gordon’s return.
