Luke Perry has died at the age of 52 just a week after suffering a ‘massive stroke’.
TMZ reports that Perry died on Monday morning at St Joseph’s Hospital in Burbank.
The actor was ‘under observation’ after being treated by paramedics at his Sherman Oaks home on Wednesday morning.
The actor’s early work included TV adverts, music videos and daytime soaps before he landed the role of Dylan McKay in Beverly Hills 90210, which shot him to fame.
The show ran from 1990 to 2000.
Will and Grace, Criminal Minds, Alice Upside Down and the animation Biker Mice From Mars are also among his acting credits.
Luke also had long running roles in Body Of Proof from 2012-2013, FCU: Fact Checkers Unit in 2010 and TV series The Ties That Bind in 2015.
His most recent role was in the TV series Riverdale as Fred Andrews – Archie’s dad – a character he played since 2016. The third season of the show is currently airing and has been renewed for a fourth.
Luke was apparently asked to be involved in the upcoming reboot of Beverly Hills, 90210, but his filming commitments on Riverdale made this tricky.

A source said at the time that his ‘current deal’ with the CW show was ‘blocking’ him from getting involved.
Luke was also appearing Quentin Tarantino’s next film Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, which is currently in production.
