Ofcom have rejected complaints raised by some viewers surrounding Emmerdale’s historic child sex abuse storyline involving Aaron Livesy.
Hard hitting scenes of a recent episode saw the character tell Robert Sugden that he had been raped as a child by his father Gordon. In an emotional exchange, he struggled to tell his former boyfriend about the abuse.
While Emmerdale – and actor Danny Miller – have been widely praised for the scenes and their potential to raise awareness of a serious issue, 18 people who saw the episode contacted Ofcom to register complaints.
But Ofcom have confirmed that they will not be launching an investigation into the matter.
