Love Island’s Amy Hart has revealed she left the show to protect her ‘mental health’.

The flight attendant dramatically walked out of the villa after being dumped by Curtis Pritchard and having to watch his budding romance with Maura Higgins.

And the 26-year-old has now explained that she was in a fragile condition and wanted to bid farewell to the show to work on her state of mind.

‘I chose my mental health over the reality show,’ she told The Sun. ‘It’s not nice. I have to put myself and my sanity first.’

Good for you, girl!

Amy also claimed in the same interview that she was so heartbroken,  producers had to force her to eat after she lost six pounds.

Just hours after her exit, Maura Higgins got her claws into Curtis (Picture: ITV)
The BA hostess had viewers, ex Islanders and pretty much the entire nation in tears when she bid farewell to her former half-boyfriend Curtis during her exit on Monday.

‘We made each other happy. I want us to be best, best friends but we both need to move on and we both need to find someone that is going to make us as happy as we make them,’ she told him.

‘Realistically for me, I’m not going to be ready in the next three weeks to meet someone else. Realistically for you, you will not be happy all the time here because you’ll always put me first, because you’re such a good person.’

We’re not crying, you’re crying.

Amy went on: ‘That’s why I love you so much and that’s why I want you to be happy. ‘You are not going to be happy whilst I’m still here.’

Just hours after her exit, Curtis and Maura took the next step and kissed each other twice during a sexy dance challenge.

Love Island continues daily, on ITV2, at 9pm.
