The search is on for a new Doctor Who companion following the departure of Jenna Coleman as Clara Oswald – and soap fans may recognise the surprise name that his shot to the top of the rumour mill.
EastEnders actress Rakhee Thakrar is being hotly tipped to take over the coveted role when Doctor Who eventually makes its return under the control of Broadchurch writer Chris Chibnall, who replaces outgoing boss Steven Moffat.
