The petition to get controversial news anchor Kay Burley sacked from Sky News has soared past the 50,000 mark and continues to grow as the public remain outraged by her interview with Alton Towers CEO Nick Varney.
But, while the petition’s momentum shows little signs of dying out, not everyone has been as critical of the presenter, with many seeking to support her.
As Kay Burley went on a retweeting spree of Twitter followers defending her, one high profile name which cropped up was Piers Morgan, who declared that he would ‘promote her’ rather than sack her.
