What would it be like if extremely human-like cyborgs integrated with us? That’s the angle of distinctly creepy but deeply fascinating Channel 4 drama Humans, which sees life-like replicas of human beings created and put into the service of every day people at home and work.
As you’d expect, it doesn’t take long for everything to go spectacularly wrong.
The robots, called Synths, while a marvellous invention on the outset, cause a great deal of problems and raise that terrifying and increasingly relevant question – will machines eventually overtake humans? As the 8-part series unfolds, it tells a story which suggests that this is a worrying possibility.
