***Warning: Peaky Blinders season 5, episode 4 spoilers ahead***
There’s really no such thing as a peaceful event in the Shelby family is there?
The Loop began to show the results of the laid out plans that Tommy Shelby had put in place, while others have blown up in people’s faces.
Thanks to Polly being quick on the draw with her handgun, there’s now potentially a dead body to take care of, as well as a traitor in the midst after Tommy’s crown.
With just two episodes to go, writer Steven Knight has a lot of ground to cover, as the juicy plot keeps us hooked week-by-week.
Here’s everything we want to know ahead of what’s sure to be a nail-biting episode next week…
Is Linda actually dead?
The biggest question of the night folks, did Polly (Helen McCrory) actually kill Linda (Kate Philips)?
She certainly looked pretty dead on the floor there at the end of the episode.
Polly isn’t exactly known to be one to get blood on her hands, but with one of her boys under threat, she did what she had to do.
She’s never particularly been a fan of Linda, but to kill her is a whole new level – and if she did, Arthur (Paul Anderson) is never going to forgive her.
This could also trigger all sorts of events in the aftermath, because killing someone outside a party full of people is hardly going to go unnoticed either.
What are the clan going to do? (We already have some theories).
How do Gina and Oswald Mosley know each other?
So, turns out that Gina (Anya Taylor-Joy) and Mosley (Sam Claflin) actually know each other somehow…the next question, is how.
The knowing stare they shared during the ballet performance definitely gave the game up, and Michael (Finn Cole) currently seems none the wiser about it.
Did Mosley somehow plant Gina to infiltrate the Shelby household to take them down from the inside?
With Michael telling his new wife literally everything, including about the large stash of heroin that the Shelby’s are shipping with the Chinese, it’s not looking good.
This could also explain how he happened to know the family business in such intimate detail back in episode three…
What happened between Mosley and Lizzie?
Lizzie (Natasha O’Keefe) definitely had an adverse reaction to Mosley when she saw him at the family dinner – and he made no secret of their past dalliance.
It also appears that he wanted to have sex with her again, despite her being married to Tommy (Cillian Murphy) now, and despite her mocking his abilities in the bedroom in response.
The former sex worker’s history is well known and she’s not ashamed of it, so you have to ask why she reacted so badly when she saw him.
What did he do to her to make her react that way, and what will Tommy do on the discovery of it?
Will Aberama and Polly make it down the aisle?
Aberama (Aidan Gillen) and Polly deserve some happiness after all they’ve been through together.
With Aberama finally telling Polly straight up that he loved her, before getting down on one knee, we’re rooting for these two.
However, things are never quite that simple, and with a business deal attached to their marriage it could get complicated.
Seeing as Aberama remains one of the family’s most trusted men, there’s also a real chance of him being caught in the crosshairs of the impending war with the Billy Boys.
And considering he’s still out for blood after the death of son Bonnie, he could become reckless.
(Just please let these two have some happiness together. Seriously.)
What is going on with Finn?
Finn (Harry Kirton) seems to be in a world of his own at the moment, basically taking over the gambling ring the Shelbys have long established.
But he’s also become a bit of a loose cannon over the past season, which may or may not be thanks to the large quantity of cocaine he’s shovelling up his nose.
In these four episodes alone, he ignored Tommy’s orders and went into a shootout, getting shot in the process, he’s also ignored his brothers ‘check your wh*res at the doors’ warning and got trapped by a Chinese hit woman.
Storming round afterwards, he nearly shot a Chinese businessman in the head as a result.
He’s become a bit of a liability to say the least as he tries to prove himself to his brothers…but what exactly is he trying to prove?
Worse still, is he going to pay for his impulsiveness in the long run?
What is Mosley’s plan?
Mosley is up to something and you can be sure that whatever it is will be disastrous for the entire Shelby clan.
He’s a meticulous planner, and it’s something that’s not gone unnoticed by Tommy – but even he isn’t aware of just how carefully his rival has played things out.
With plans to launch the British Union of Fascists by the turn of 1930, Mosley is a man on a mission, and while Tommy is along for the ride now, something tells us Mosley doesn’t plan on having him around for long.
Unable to stand the family and how they go about things, it’s a recipe for disaster.
Just what does he have up his sleeve and in how much danger is Tommy?
Peaky Blinders continues Sundays at 9pm on BBC One.
