Katya Jones has sent a message of support to her Strictly Come Dancing partner Mike Bushell ahead of the new series.
Fans saw Katya and newsreader Mike paired together during the launch show on Saturday night.
The professional dancer praised their ‘scary amount of energy’ together and looked forward to turning him into a smooth mover over the course of the show.
Taking to Instagram Katya shared a picture of them together at the launch show shortly after being partnered.
In the caption she wrote: ‘Hello Strictly 2019 partner! I honestly can’t express how much I’m looking forward to teach @mikebushellofficial how to dance (properly!😂) turning dad dancer into a cool dad dancer !!
‘Our combined amount of energy actually scares me! Let’s have some fun!’
Katya will be going head to head with husband Neil Jones, who she separated from last month.
Neil is competing on Strictly for the first time and will dance with former English footballer Alex Scott.
The couple were together for 11 years before deciding to split.
In a joint statement on Instagram, the pair said: ‘As our fans and loyal supporters you are really important to us and so we wanted to let you know some news. ‘After 11 years, we have made the mutual decision to separate.
‘We will always love each other, just in a different way as friends. This will never change what a great team we make and we are really proud of everything we have achieved together.
‘Our shared love of dance means we will keep working and dancing together as well as exploring different individual projects. No matter what we do we will always support and respect each other.’
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One later this year.
