Sting may be one of the few major celebrities of the 1990s not to appear on Friends – but it turns out, that’s just because he didn’t show up to set one day.
Trudie Styler made an appearance in season eight, where Phoebe discovers that Ross’ son Ben is in the same class as Sting’s son and so tries to use Ben to get herself concert tickets.
Trudie, Sting’s wife, uncovers Phoebe’s plan though and kicks her out, but set designer Greg Grande has now told Metro.co.uk that Trudie’s cameo only happened because Sting bailed.
‘We had Trudy Styler because Sting was supposed to show up,’ he revealed.
One of the most iconic sitcoms of all time turns 25 in September 2019 and its stars Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow all thanked fans for their continued support ahead of the milestone anniversary.
The foursome, who played Joey Tribbiani, siblings Monica and Ross Geller, and Phoebe Buffay, shared the same sweet throwback picture on their Instagram feeds to mark the occasion.

Yep, Jennifer Aniston and Matthew Perry really need to hurry up and jump on the photo-sharing app bandwagon.
‘Celebrating a Thursday night 25 years ago. Seems like yesterday. Thanks to all the fans for watching,’ Matt wrote alongside his picture.
Echoing pretty much the exact same sentiment, David captioned his: ‘Celebrating a Thursday night 25 years ago… THANK YOU to all the fans out there!! We couldn’t have done it without you.’
Meanwhile, Courteney poked fun at the iconic I’ll Be There theme tune and posted: ‘You’ve certainly been there for us!’
