Stath Lets Flats is one of the funniest and oddly heartwarming shows on telly right now, so we’re gutted series two has come to an end.
But thankfully, creator and star Jamie Demetriou has shared a series two blooper reel to keep us going.
And let’s face it, blooper reels are the best part of any show or movie.
Director Tom Kingsley compiled the best bloopers and outtakes from the last series of Stath Lets Flats, and it will definitely give you a giggle, while leaving ‘he’s licking a DVD’ running around your head for days.
Stath Lets Flats follows Greek-Cypriot letting agent Stath (Demetriou) attempting to, well, let flats, alongside his dad Vasos (Christos Stergioglou), sister Sophie (Jamie’s real life sister Natasia Demetriou) and best friend Al (Al Roberts).
The absurd show has gained a cult following, with Jamie, 31, telling The Guardian: ‘Part of the challenge from the beginning was: how can I make this bad idea good? I don’t like the idea of a sitcom about a lettings agency, I really don’t.
‘But then I once made a short about a guy turning into a car, and I think that’s the worst idea ever. But I also think, what’s more impressive than a really good idea done well? A really bad idea done well.’
Well, it did very well, as after the first six-episode run, Stath Lets Flats was commissioned for a second series.
Fiona McDermott, Head of Comedy at Channel 4, said: ‘We did originally say no to this. But he just kept turning up, trying to get into the building. Sometimes it’s just easier to give in isn’t it?
‘In all seriousness, we’re thrilled to back Jamie and this gem of a show again.’
Jamie added: ‘I would formally like to announce that series 2 MIGHT be about Stath and Peter Andre trying to make it in Miami.’
That sadly did not happen, so we’re going to have to hope series three is commissioned so we can see that happen.
Jamie confirmed there’s no word on series three just yet, tweeting after Monday night’s finale: ‘Stath2 has gone out, so the promo tweets will 😴 now. But while there’s breath in my fingers… THANKS so much to everyone who’s watched it & been nice. To the godly team behind it. And to the heavenly cast- Hearing you read the scripts has been the sweetest kiss of my sexy life.
‘Also here are some answers to some Stath FAQs… No news about a series 3 as of yet. I too loved the old titles.
‘Songs are scripted, apart from Sophie & Katia’s M&E song (S2 Ep1) which genius Tash & Ellie improvised. Yes Al did play Rodney in TV’s Only Fools & horses.’
Stath Lets Flats series one and two are available to watch on All4.
