Kate Garraway caused havoc on the set of Good Morning Britain on Friday morning as she attempted to ride a bike for the first time in 38 years.
The 52-year-old presenter is taking part in the Palace to Palace charity ride, which will see the GMB team complete a 45 mile bike ride led by Youtuber Alfie Deyes from Buckingham Palace to Windsor Castle to raise money for The Prince’s Trust.
Getting in the cycling spirit, Kate pulled a black and green lycra one piece on over the top of her stylish suit, bringing a whole new outlook to the winter layering trend as her fellow presenters held back fits of laughter.
Kate was impressed with the padded contraption, joking that she had ‘quite a lot of padding anyway’ as she took to two wheels in preparation.
However, proclaiming not to have ridden a bike since she was 14 years old, the challenge ahead of Kate seemed to grow in size as she struggled to take off without the help of her co-host Ben Shephard.
As he held onto the seat as if he was learning for the first time, Kate gained a bit of confidence and went solo, attempting to pedal despite wearing some pretty high heels.
Sadly, the ride was short lived, coming to a halt as Kate, erm, gracefully crashed into the set.
Luckily, no damage was done in the process!
Good Morning Britain is on weekdays on ITV from 6am.
