DIY SOS left viewers in tears after an incredible house transformation helped bring a family back together under one roof.
In the latest episode of the BBC series, Nick Knowles and the team helped out the Morfey family from Yealmpton, Plymouth.
Parents Tara and Chris Morfey bought an old wrought-iron forge after selling their home, and intended to renovate it for their two eldest sons, who have cerebral palsy.
Halfway through the process, however, their daughter was diagnosed with leukaemia and had to move away for treatment – splitting their family apart and leaving the home unfinished.
After Nick and the team worked their magic, Tara and Chris were left in tears as they viewed their new home, complete with accessible showers for their sons and vast garden spaces.
Speaking about the transformation, Chris said: ‘It’s more than what we ever dreamed of to be honest. There’s no way we could have achieved such a beautiful finish as this.
‘We’re forever grateful for it as well. It’s such a shock because it was such a derelict building for all those years.’
Getting emotional as the kids are shown the house for the first time, Tara said: ‘We’re going to be a family again. We’re going to be back together.’
Viewers couldn’t hold back on the sobs either.

@MrNickKnowles I thought I’d been having a bad year but it pales into insignificance compared with what the family on #DIYSOS have gone through. I really hope that they are enjoying their new home. Congratulations to all involved.
