X Factor: Celebrity has faced its first crisis as Kevin McHale has lost his voice just hours before the live shows, with viewers questioning whether he’ll be fit to perform.
Basically, it’s a performer’s worst nightmare.
The Glee star, who has been smashing it so far in the competition, shared a clip of himself looking a little under the weather on Instagram, as he wrote: ‘1 night to go, steam.’
Meanwhile, despite fears that the star might not be well enough to perform, a source said that Kevin is ‘powering through’.
‘Kevin remains the true professional and is continuing to power through despite feeling under the weather,’ the insider told The Sun Online.
Meanwhile, the source added to the site that Kevin’s set to get everyone ‘hot under the collar’ with a performance of Lizzo’s Good As Hell.
The star previously admitted he was ‘scared’ to sign up to the show after he underwent sinus surgery earlier this year. Fingers crossed for Kev!
The new series of the show has faced some unexpected changes, after the Sunday results shows were scrapped after 10 years.
The move comes after years of declining viewing figures for the ITV show as it attempts to compete against BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing.
On Saturday figures dropped to a mere 4.3 million viewers compared to Strictly’s 10 million.
A source told MailOnline: ‘The X Factor: Celebrity is a new show and a new format and as such will be scheduled differently to previous years with one bumper show on a Saturday.’
The live shows are set to feature Kevin (if he recovers in time) alongside stars including Towie’s Megan McKenna, The Love Islanders and The Chase’s Jenny Ryan, who was brought back after her shock elimination.
X Factor Celebrity continues Saturday at 8.20pm on ITV.
