The Big Bang Theory’s Kunal Nayyar has broken his social media silence after four months to celebrate Diwali.

Kunal, who hasn’t been seen or heard from online since the much-loved series ended in May after 12 seasons, decided to take some much-needed time away for himself as the internet buzzed about the show’s end.

But in order to celebrate the Hindu festival of lights, created with the symbolism of light overcoming darkness, Kunal has returned to make the world a little brighter – encouraging others to do the same.

He wrote: ‘Happy Diwali. My first Diwali at home in Delhi after 20 years.

‘Could not have thought of a better occasion to come back to Instagram and use this platform to spread love, to spread light, and to hopefully help bring you closer to yourself, because no matter where you are in your life we all have the ability to shine our inner light on this world.

‘So… I’m back now; let’s you and me get together, and light up all the dark corners of this world. Deal? #diwali

Consider it a deal, Kunal.

In the photos, Kunal is seen sporting some dapper black and gold jack and new facial hair including a twizzly new ‘stache.

The post was the first he uploaded in four months, last appearing in the south of France overlooking the sea, announcing that he was going travelling with his family and encouraging others to be kind.

Since then, the only thing known about what he’s been up to was the fact he purchased Nicolas Cage’s old home in LA, priced at a not-too-shabby $7.5million (£5.8million).

Since The Big Bang Theory ended, the cast have been well and truly in demand since the CBS series closed its apartment door for the final time.

Kunal will next be heard on screen as the voice of Guy Diamond in Dreamworks animated picture, Trolls World Tour, due for release next year.

The Big Bang Theory airs on Netflix and E4 in the UK.
