Shayne Ward has ruffled some Mancunian feathers by declaring that if it weren’t for The X Factor he’d be in prison simply because he’s from Manchester.
The X Factor 2005 winner made the inflammatory claim on This Morning as he chatted to hosts Phillip Schofield and Amanda Holden about his upcoming Coronation Street debut.
But as the conversation moved on to discuss his music and winning the ITV talent contest nearly 10 years ago, Philip asked where Shayne thinks he’d be if he wasn’t on The X Factor.
And Shayne replied: ‘Being from Manchester, probably in prison.’
