The 2024 series of The Masked Singer UK came to an end last night, with Piranha – aka McFly singer Danny Jones – soaring to victory in the season finale.
The other two finalists, Cricket and Bigfoot, were also revealed as music sensation Lemar and The Last Leg TV star Alex Brooker respectively in the jaw-dropping last episode.
Judges Mo Gilligan, Davina McCall, Rita Ora, Jonathan Ross and guest judge Gavin and Stacey star Rob Brydon were in awe when Danny was unveiled, having bowled everyone over with his stunning rendition of Céline Dion’s It’s All Coming Back to Me Now.
Now, fans are desperate for him to embark on a huge new career step, having watched his talent go from strength to strength in McFly for more than 20 years.
After watching Piranha belt out banger after banger on The Masked Singer, singing with unlimited levels of passion and power, one fan called Karis wrote on X: ‘Gonna need danny jones to release an album of power ballad covers after this.’
Another named Jon praised Danny and Lemar, remarking: ‘I want an album of every performance Piranha and Cricket has done. I’ll be listening to those on YouTube on repeat. Danny Jones needs to release It’s All Coming Back To Me Now as a single. And Lemar How Deep Is Your Love. Class!’
We’re definitely backing Danny to release a power ballad album!
In addition to McFly’s repertoire of music, the 37-year-old musician has released solo music in the past.
In 2019, he released his EP, which featured the tracks Muddy Water, Bad Habits, $igns, Talk In The Morning and Without Me.
His song Is This Still Love came out in 2018, while Do Not Worry was released in 2020.
Nonetheless, it’s clear to see… the demand for even more solo music from Danny is there!
After the final of The Masked Singer UK 2024 aired, Danny posted an adorable video of his son reacting to him being unmasked, as he had no idea that his dad was competing.
Reacting to the video, Fool Me Once star Michelle Keegan commented on Instagram: ‘Awwwww bless him.’
‘To be fair this was my reaction too..,’ added The Masked Singer presenter Joel Dommett.
Danny is married to Georgia Horsley, who previously won the title of Miss England.
They were married in August 2014 and welcomed their son, Cooper Alf Jones, in January 2018.
