Looks like George Shelley has bigger things to worry about than cockroaches crawling up his trouser leg.

His bandmates have been speaking about how they think their pal is doing, and they have a few words of warning for him – never mind the critters, it’s Ferne and Vicky he should be looking out for.

Steven Moffat has spoken candidly for the first time on the ‘nightmare’ surrounding preparations for the Doctor Who 50th anniversary which aired in 2013.

The episode saw the return of David Tennant and Matt Smith alongside new Doctor Peter Capaldi and guest star John Hurt and went down a storm with viewers – but many have wondered just why Christopher Eccleston couldn’t be persuaded back.

Moffat certainly tried his hardest to sign him up, as he explained in an interview with Radio Times. He explained: ‘I knew that Chris was almost certainly going to say no. I met him a couple of times and he was absolutely lovely.… Read the full story

First we were bowled over by the news there’s going to be a Hey Arnold! movie, and now this.

It’s 11 years ago the cartoon ended, but funnily enough the guy who voiced him carried on growing up. To be fair, we barely knew what he looked like then, but what he looks like now is not what we expected.

For one thing, his head is not football-shaped, as noticed by a fan who picked up on the fact the actor is no longer a blue capped, tartan shirt (not… Read the full story

I wouldn’t say I was an addict. Really I wouldn’t. On the other hand I knew the names of every Balamory character before my eldest child was born, and my wife and I were experts in Barnaby Bear before either of us had changed a single nappy.

So perhaps I’m a little too well-versed in the ins and outs of children’s television. And if you’re worrying that you may be similarly afflicted, here are some tell-tale signs.

Che Chesterman might have been in the bottom two at the weekend but there’s no chance he’ll be there in the next live show – because he’s taking on Addle.

The X year-old will be singing Adele’s new track Hello to try and win him a spot in the semi-finals.

He’s already performed power ballads on the show to standing ovations from the judges so performing the ultimate showstopper will undoubtedly put him in favour with the public again.

Even his mentor, Nick Grimshaw, is feeling the nerves, admitting on his BBC Radio 1 breakfast show how Che has been blowing him away in rehearsals for this weekend.

Jimmy Carr is no stranger to controversy and he could be about to get another slap on the wrist for a controversial joke he told on The One Show.

The comedian, who is known for his blue stand up routines, was a guest on the show last month, which is broadcast live.

And the BBC have been the subject of a number of complaints, which Ofcom are now probing, when Carr quipped thathe tried to write the shortest joke possible before saying ‘Dwarf shortage’.

He then added: ‘If you’re a dwarf and you’re offended by that, grow up.’

Confirming that just two complaints were received, an Ofcom spokesperson told Metro.co.uk: ‘We’re investigating whether… Read the full story

The Simpsons have used their latest episode to pay a touching tribute to Paris in the wake of the recent terrorist attacks which led to the deaths of at least 130 people.

While the episode had already been animated and produced, the show inserted a short but poignant scene to reference the tragedy, as they often do in the wake of shocking world events.

The episode saw Lisa befriend a Broadway star who wanted to help her make it big in musical theatre. In one of the scenes, we see a montage of New York City which included this image:

Jay McGuiness left Strictly Come Dancing viewers confused when he apparently badly overreacted to some video of a toddler dancing to his performances on the ballroom show – although it seems like there may have been a major misunderstanding.

The contender was shown the clip a proud mum had sent in and clearly found it adorable – even if, on paper, his words which followed seemed to suggest the total opposite.

He said: ‘Oh I just want to cut off his hair, his hands and feet and…then I want to put him in a bag and just kick it. So cute!’

Wait, what?

Viewers were quick to share their confusion:

Louis Walsh has been putting his feet in his mouth again and he isn’t in the slightest bit bothered.

The former X Factor judge just got real with his thoughts on this year’s show, and basically reckons Simon Cowell has well and truly ‘f***ked’ it up. Say it like it is, eh Louis. He even stuck the boot in by saying he’s ‘glad’ the show is suffering without him. Well, after being sacked there’s nothing like being a bit smug.

Speaking to Star magazine, Louis said: ‘I’m glad I’m not on it this year as the ratings are down. Simon has messed with it too much. It was… Read the full story
