The Bay cast drop clues at whodunnit and reveal more suspects are on their way

The Bay won’t reveal whodunnit until episode five (Picture: ITV)

*Warning, spoilers for The Bay.

ITV’s latest drama The Bay got off to a sensational start on Wednesday night, setting the wheels in motion for a scandalous whodunnit case.

By the end of episode one, Morvern Christie’s Detective Sergeant Lisa Armstrong had arrested Sean Meredith (Jonas Armstrong) for Dylan’s (Noah Valentine) death, but is he really the one who’s done the crime?

Speaking to Metro.co.uk at an exclusive press event, Daniel Ryan and Taheen Modak, who play DCI Tony Manning and DC Med Kharim revealed that all our hunches at this stage are probably wrong.

Taheen Modak says there are more suspects to arrive yet (Picture: ITV)

‘If you think you know who it is, you’re completely wrong,’ Daniel began, before revealing that he didn’t even know until after he’d finished reading the episode three script.

‘I was so far from the truth,’ added Taheen.

We had a lot of questions after watching episode one of the series, but there’s going to be even more people thrown into the mix as the case continues.

Talking about the situation at the end of opener, Daniel continued: ‘I don’t think we’ve met all the suspects.’

‘You meet more,’ teased Taheen.

Holly and Dylan went missing (Picture: ITV)

‘We’ve still got Holly out there,’ added Daniel. ‘Pace wise, it’s not hurried, it’s not all action and it’s not all running about.

‘We’ve tried to keep it as real as we can, which isn’t always dramatic. The drama’s in the family, it’s their loss. It’s the police’s job to keep it all together.’

But it’s not just about whodunnit according to Daniel, who told us: ‘I think that because of the way the drama unfolds and because you get involved of the lives of the families, it becomes a kind of side order to what’s going on.’

‘You’re grieving and hoping at the same time. We become fascinated by the lives as well. It’s a lot richer than a whodunit. I think that’s what’s going to appeal.’

The Bay airs Wednesdays at 9pm on ITV.

The Bay: Why did the twins run away? All the burning questions from episode one of ITV’s latest drama

New ITV drama The Bay kicked off tonight and we have some questions (Picture: ITV)

*Warning, contains spoilers for The Bay!

ITV’s new drama The Bay kicked off tonight with Morvern Christie’s character Lisa Armstrong thrown right into the midst of a complicated missing persons case.

The family liason officer is on a mission to hunt down teenage twins Holly and Dylan, only to learn that she has a personal connection to the family which could compromise her and the investigation.

There’s a lot to unpack and here are all our questions from episode one.

Why did the twins run away?

Holly and Dylan’s disappearance was announced at the beginning of the episode and so far there’s no leads on why they vanished.

We know that Sean and Jess’s arguments might have played a factor, as well as the family’s mounting money issues.

We also know that there’s something shady happening in the town with the teens in general. Were they taunted out of their hometown?

Holly and Dylan went missing (Picture: ITV)

How did Dylan die?

Dylan’s body was found on the beach at the end of the episode.

The cause of his death is yet to be determined, so it remains unclear as tho whether he was murdered or accidentally got trapped in Morecambe Bay’s notorious waters as the tide came in.

How are Lisa’s children involved in the case?

Lisa’s daughter Abbie was seen texting another boy in the school called Sam about the twins being missing. Sam ignored the text and shortly after Abi was suspended.

Meanwhile, Lisa’s son Rob was seen having a worrying conversation on a chatroom with someone called ‘Bantasaurusrex.’

Bantasaurusrex was asking him to ‘prove’ something and he looked pretty damn worried. Is the mysterious user linked to Holly and Dylan’s disappearance?

Lisa’s children are somehow connected to the case (Picture: ITV)

Will Lisa confess to having a one-night stand with Sean?

It’s already becoming clear that Lisa’s lies about having a one-night stand with Sean are catching up with her.

How much more will she cover up before she’s forced to come clean.

Is the biological dad involved with the twins’ disappearance?

The twins’ biological dad brought himself in for questioning and revealed that he hadn’t seen his kids for 10 years.

He claimed that he wasn’t allowed access to the kids, saying that ‘things got messy’ in the divorce from Jess.

Is he lying about having contact with the twins? Has he taken them in some sort of sick revenge plan against Jess?

Lisa deleted the security footage from the night in question (Picture: ITV)

Will the security footage return?

Lisa downloaded the footage from the pub only a USB stick and took it to the police station.

We saw Lisa see herself on the tapes, and before she had a time to delete them, she had to go to the school to pick up her daughter Abbie who had been suspended.

She later deleted the file – but did she empty her desktop recycling bin? Will someone get their hands on the tapes and will they come back to bite her?

Margaret is definitely hiding something (Picture: ITV)

What’s Jess’s mum Margaret hiding?

Margaret is definitely not letting onto something about the twins’ vanishing act.

When Lisa asked her why she thought they ran away, she replied: ‘I wouldn’t blame them if they have.’

What does she know?

Is Sean guilty? (Picture: ITV)

Have they arrested the right man?

Sean was arrested at the end of the first episode for his shady behaviour, but was he the one whodunnit?

The twins’ biological dad has already planted the seed that the man’s a bad egg, telling the police: ‘Everything was alright. Me, Jess and the twins. Then she met him. Everything changed when she met him.

‘He’s bad news. She was never the same after she hooked up with him.’

BUT, we know that Sean’s only lied about his timeline of events because he got busy with Lisa and doesn’t want his night of passion to come out and destroy his marriage.

The Bay airs Wednesdays at 9pm on ITV.

Lorraine Kelly is only playing a friendly character called ‘Lorraine Kelly’, she claims in tax case

Lorraine Kelly has won a legal case over tax payments by arguing that she does not appear on ITV each morning as herself but instead a persona called ‘Lorraine Kelly’.

‘We did not accept that Ms Kelly simply appeared as herself; we were satisfied that Ms Kelly presents a persona of herself,’ Judge Jennifer Dean ruled during the tax tribunal on Wednesday.

‘We should make clear we do not doubt that Ms Kelly is an entertaining lady, but the point is that for the time Ms Kelly is contracted to perform live on air she is public ‘Lorraine Kelly’,’ Judge Dean added.

‘She may not like the guest she interviews, she may not like the food she eats, she may not like the film she viewed but that is where the performance lies,’

‘She may not like the guest she interviews,’ said the judge (Picture: Rex)

Kelly had been hit with a £1.2million tax and national insurance bill from HMRC amid a crackdown by the revenue which argued TV presenters are employees of broadcasters, and should be subject to income tax and national insurance contributions.

However Kelly appealed the case, claiming that as she was not a direct employee of ITV as she was not entitled to benefits such as sick pay and pension; ITV’s contract is instead with personal services company Albatel Limited, a company for which Kelly and her husband are the directors and shareholders.

HMRC argued that if the contract had been between Kelly and ITV directly then in the 2016 tax year she would have paid £899,912 in taxes and £312,615 in NICs and so billed her for those sums.

However in response, Kelly told the court how she chose her own working hours for Lorraine – revealing she turned down an interview with Sir Elton John which required a live link from Australia at 4am – and how she also worked for other broadcasters and Avon as an ambassador.

Both HMRC and Albatel Limited call on the court to consider if agency fees would be tax deductible, which led to a discussion on her role on the 8.30am morning show on ITV, with the court deciding she was a ‘theatrical artist’ and that watching clips of Kelly’s work ‘gave us a clear impression of the tenor of the programmes’ and that they could not be viewed as current affairs shows.

A spokesperson for HMRC said: ‘We are disappointed that the first tier tribunal has decided that the intermediary rules (also known as IR35) did not apply in this case. We will carefully consider the outcome of the tribunal before deciding whether to appeal.’

Metro.co.uk has contacted reps for ITV and Lorraine for comment.

Mindy Kaling lands her own coming-of-age series on Netflix inspired by her own childhood

Mindy Kaling has landed her very own series on Netflix that will take inspiration from her childhood.

Twitter account See What’s Next – a Netflix US account bringing fans up to date news about the streaming service – confirmed the new series on Wednesday.

So far, all we know is that Mindy has co-created the ‘coming-of-age’ series with Lang Fisher – known for her work on The Mindy Project and Brooklyn Nine Nine – and the two will serve as showrunners, as well as writing and producing the show.

It’s been inspired by Mindy’s own childhood and is ‘about the complicated life of a modern-day first generation Indian American teenage girl’.

The show’s cast is yet to be confirmed and it’s not known whether Mindy will actually star in her own series, but we’ve no doubt we can expect plenty of belly laughs that usually come hand-in-hand with the star.

(Picture: Twitter)

News of her own series comes after Mindy penned her own comedy which is set to hit the big screen later this year.

She co-stars alongside Emma Thompson in movie Late Night that was inspired by her own time working on the US version of The Office where she was the only female writer.

In the film, Mindy stars as a writer who gets a job on Tonight with Katherine Newbury, a major TV network late-night talk show whose British female host, played by Thompson, is is doubting the longevity of her career in an era of younger male hosts who use social media and fratboy comedy.

She’s said the movie’s spirit is about ‘women helping other women’ and it was snapped up by Amazon Studios at Sundance Film Festival for a record $13 million (£9.8 million).

It’s one of the film festival’s biggest deals, so you know, no biggie.

A bored pussy cat stole the first episode of Mums Make Porn as it sat legs akimbo

This cat was having none of it (Picture: Channel 4)

Channel 4 aired what it hoped was a thought-provoking look at porn and young people on Wednesday night – but it was a bored-looking cat, sat legs akimbo, that stole the whole show.

The show follows five mums of teenagers, working together to make a porn movie that shows sex in a different light and aims to change how porn shapes their views of sex from an early age.

Not today, thank you (Picture: Channel 4)

Early in the episode Jane, who has 19-year-old daughter and had never watched porn, realised she may need to see what was available for her to get an idea of what she could suggest for the final movie.

So she fired up her laptop and began watching online porn – with her cat sitting right behind her.

You couldn’t make it up.

The cat really wasn’t bothered (Picture: Channel 4)

The controversial Channel 4 documentary saw a group of mums unite to write, cast, and direct an ‘ethical’ adult film for their children – in response to the porn videos already out there.

In the first episode, viewers also saw Jane, Sarah-Louise, and Anita all head to their first ever adult film set, where they meet working porn star Roxie who prepared them for what’s in store.

‘A lot of mine have a bit of a niche of having a bitchy girlfriend who cheats on her boyfriend. Who wants to just watch “Oh they’re in bed having sex”? It’s boring.

‘So you need a bit sexy kissing, touching, and feeling, getting intimate. Then you need a bit of the hardcore to entice other people. So you need to have the whole package.’

The documentary has been criticised by Loose Women’s Ruth Langsford, who believes offering a sanitised version of porn won’t help the situation.

Ruth spoke about the concerns she had regarding what her son Jack might have watched, and the 59-year-old said: ‘I have a teenage son and I worry about the extreme pornography that’s there. I worry about the image men make about women from watching those.

‘But making a sanitised version, for me, I don’t think it will help.’

The mother-of-one then went on to give her own view on how to combat ‘extreme porn’ and suggested: ‘You need to educate you boys in the real world.’

Stormzy has joined the cast of the much anticipated BBC One drama Noughts & Crosses, an adaptation of Malorie Blackman’s acclaimed children’s novel.

The star will play newspaper editor Kolawale, a character created for the TV series.

‘As a diehard fan of Malorie’s novels, being a part of this important show is a dream come true,’ he said.

Malorie Blackman said: ‘The first time I met Stormzy he informed me he was a huge fan of my Noughts and Crosses series of books.

‘I’m thrilled he will now be a part of the Noughts + Crosses TV production. It’s so exciting!’

Executive producer Preethi Mavahalli added: ‘As an icon of black British culture, we are honoured to have Stormzy play a part in this adaptation of a novel he’s such a fan of.’

The entertainment giant, founded by the rapper, and Mammoth Screen – producers of Poldark and Victoria – will be taking on the story set in an alternative Britain in which a black ruling class subjugates a white population.

The story follows two young friends, Sephy and Callum, who are divided by their colour but ‘united by forbidden love and burning injustice.’

Sephy is a member of the black class and daughter of a prominent politician, while Callum is a ‘nougth’, a white member of the underclass who were once slaves to the Crosses and suffers extreme racial discrimination and segregation.

Katheryn Winnick and her Vikings co-star Kristy Dawn Dinsmore have finally spilled on what their secret project is.

For almost a month, the 41-year-old actress has been teasing that she has a new mission up her sleeve.

And while fans thought it was something to do with the History Channel hit, it turns out the Lagertha star is actually getting involved in the Bite The Bullet campaign.

The company aim to give a voice to those who have been through hardships, and to help them ‘bite the bullet’ and talk about their experience.

Just last month Alexander Ludwig, who plays Bjorn in the historical saga, spoke about his battle with addiction – so it’s no wonder his onscreen mum is offering up her support.

Taking to her Instagram story, the star spoke about how excited she was for the project, and how she was about to go and get pampered before heading off to a shoot.

Katheryn told her 3.1million followers: ‘Hey guys, here at a photo-shoot for my secret project and I am so excited.

She added: ‘I’m going to give you guys some sneak peeks and see if you can guess what it is.’

Katheryn then shared a boomerang of herself getting her hair done, next to the caption: ‘Last fluff and ready to shoot.’

But despite promising a look at what she was getting up to, the actress stopped posting to her story then, and it was in fact her co-star Kristy that filled us in on the deets.

Sharing pictures from the day, Alexander’s girlfriend shared a series of photos onto her story showing Katheryn doing her thing as she posed in front of the camera.

Letting slip what the whole project was for, the star tagged the Bite The Bullet account while her Vikings buddy did her best front kick towards the camera.

Kristy has recently spoken about Bite The Bullet where she revealed what made her get behind the project.

She told YVR Screen Scene: ‘Often when people are going through struggles, whether it’s addiction or something else, there are people behind them who are also going through it with them.

‘When I was nine my mother died from a brain tumour. I’m biting two bullets to express two very different paths I could have taken when confronted with these challenges.

‘I could have succumbed to being a victim, or I could choose to accept that some things are out of my control.

She added: ‘When I finally accepted the things I couldn’t change, I was able to take the appropriate steps towards changing what I could. One day at a time is my motto.’

Mum comes under fire for claiming ‘being gay is a choice’ in tense TV debate over LGBT lessons in schools

Mum Izzy Montague has come under fire for stating she believes being gay is ‘a choice’.

Izzy appeared in a live TV interview with Tom Cox, who is gay, to discuss parents who have been protesting against their children being taught about sexual orientation in schools.

Dad-of-one Tom explained: ‘You’re born with your sexual preference, you are gay or you’re not.’

Izzy started shaking her head and when asked why, she said: ‘I don’t agree that you’re born anything.

‘Of course I believe it’s a choice. I made a choice of what I believe is right or wrong, I don’t remember ever thinking to myself “am I gay or am I straight?”

Izzy Montague was criticised for stating that being gay is ‘a choice’ (Picture: ITV)
She appeared on the show with dad Tom Cox who felt children should learn about real life in schools (Picture: ITV)

‘It’s something I have done based on my belief. So even if I was gay, I do believe based on my belief that I feel that a heterosexual relationship is a right course of action for me.

‘No one has forced you to be in a gay relationship. This is a decision that you have made.’

Her controversial comments were met with a fair bit of backlash on social media.

However, she did have a few supporters who felt it should be up to the parents to decide what their children should and shouldn’t be taught.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain on Thursday, Izzy added that she feels she ‘should be the one to teach my child anything to do with relationships’.

‘My child goes to school to receive an education, that’s what I’m concentrating on, not anything to with the teacher’s opinions about what’s a good relationship what’s a bad relationship. That’s not what children go to school for.

‘There’s many things in life that you could also say that they need to learn about, like the dangers. The dangers of life like murders and rapists and everything in life.

‘I think personally children are not there for you to brainwash into what good relationships are just because it’s real life.’

Tom argued back: ‘Do you not think that we live in such a diverse nation in our towns and in our villages that the school is gonna be able to give a greater representation of that potentially more than you could?

‘I don’t dispute that it is a parent’s right to choose what they go to school for and how you raise them…I think you’re doing your child a disservice by not allowing them to see that families come in all different shapes and sizes.’

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.

Charlie Brooker has only gone and cast an Avenger in series five of Black Mirror

Black Mirror is really stepping its game up for series five.

Not only is Miley Cyrus involved, but Charlie Brooker’s only gone and cast an Avenger.

Anthony Mackie, aka Falcon, is slated to appear in the upcoming series of Black Mirror, according to Deadline, and we are so pumped.

The 40-year-old is best known for playing Falcon in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Civil War, Ant-Man and Avengers: Infinity War, while he will reappear in Endgame, which is out next month.

Netflix
Black Mirror is returning after the success of Bandersnatch (Picture: Netflix)

Mackie is also taking on the lead role of Takeshi Kovacs in the second series of Altered Carbon – but has somehow found time to film for Charlie Brooker’s dark series.

Another superhero has been cast in the form of Aquaman’s Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, aka Black Manta.

DC and Marvel meets Black Mirror? You’re spoiling us, Charlie.

Of course, as the plots of each episode of Black Mirror are kept a secret, we have no idea who Anthony and Yahya will be playing, but the news has definitely piqued our interest.

Black Mirror finally returned to Netflix after the storming success of series three and four last year with Bandersnatch – an interactive choose-your-own-adventure episode that sparked a whole lot of existential crises over Christmas.

And while a release date for series five has not been confirmed, Charlie Brooker has said it will be ‘imminent-ish’, and that the new series would be a mix of classic Black Mirror darkness and some lighter episodes.

He told Radio Times: ‘Doing Bandersnatch was like doing several episodes at once, so in one respect the other season five episodes are more straightforward, though they all come with their own challenges.’

Co-showrunner Annabel Jones added: ‘They’re all different tones, so [doing the full series] is quite similar to Bandersnatch in that respect.’

Black Mirror series five is expected on Netflix in 2019.

David Dimbleby is making his grand presenting return next month to host Have I Got News For You.

The 80-year-old broadcaster, who retired from Question Time last year after 25 years, will be fronting the opening episode of the weekly nine-part satirical series and says ‘it’s an intriguing invitation.’

‘When chairing Question Time I became used to dealing with difficult panellists, but Ian Hislop and Paul Merton are another matter,’ David announced.

‘They have turned disruptive subversion into an art form.’

He added: ‘It will be quite a challenge to keep the show on the road but whatever happens it will be fun.’

Strictly Come Dancing winner Stacey Dooley and comedian Henning Wehn will join David and regular team captains Paul Merton and Ian Hislop, as guest panellists.

David confirmed last June that he would be stepping down from Question Time and said at the time: ‘It was the right moment to leave.

‘It has been a privilege to work for a programme which brings voters face to face with those in power.’

Paying tribute, BBC Director General Tony Hall added: ‘David has been at the helm of Question Time for over 25 years: a brilliant champion of the public and the audience’s friend – getting the answers they want on the big and difficult issues of the day.

‘Always a commanding figure, David has ensured Question Time has not only stayed relevant through the years, but a must watch for those interested in politics and current affairs.

‘The BBC and the public are extraordinarily lucky to have him in what are – to say the least – interesting times politically and socially. We look forward to working with him on other projects in the future.’

In December, it was confirmed that Fiona Bruce would be taking over David’s spot on the programme and her debut, which saw her grill Labour’s Emily Thornbur, Liberal Democrats deputy leader Jo Swinson, Conservative deputy chair James Cleverly, journalist Melanie Phillips and comedian Nish Kumar, didn’t disappoint viewers.

Have I Got A Bit More News For You begins Monday 8 April at 9pm on BBC One.

Paddy Doherty opens up about ‘frightening’ cancer ordeal after undergoing six-hour operation

Paddy Doherty has spoken about the pain he suffered when battling prostate cancer.

The My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding star struggled to tell his wife something was wrong, despite being in so much pain that going to the toilet felt ‘like razor blades’.

He said on Good Morning Britain: ‘You have enemies and this that. You’d have to be evil to wish it on anyone. It’s the worst pain.’

Paddy only went to the doctor after his wife kept pushing him to go.

‘My woman came with me. It was the woman looking after the man, it should be the man looking after the woman, that’s our culture. He sent me straight to the hospital.

‘I didn’t even know what a prostate was, I still haven’t got a clue what it is. That’s how foolish I was. Then they said you’ve got cancer. I said, “oh I’m in trouble now.”‘

The devastating diagnosis left him feeling ‘angry with everyone’.

After undergoing a mammoth six-hour operation, the reality TV star has been given the all-clear and feels ‘fantastic’.

He urged men to go to the doctor if they feel something is wrong and ‘put their pride to one side’.

‘Like a woman checks herself every man should do that, no matter who you are or what you are.

‘You think you’re built like a brick and all that but believe me that will break you down to size.’

When he first revealed his diagnosis Paddy admitted he struggled to deal with the pain and considered ending his own life.

He told The Sun earlier this month: ‘I’ve been to hell and back with this and it’s worse than getting a horrendous beating.

Symptoms of prostate cancer include needing to pee more frequently, difficulty in starting to pee, feeling that your bladder has not emptied fully and blood in the urine or semen.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV

‘Jade Goody saved my life’: Woman discovered aggressive cancer after smear test

It’s coming up to the 10 year anniversary of Jade Goody’s death.

And while her friends and family mourn the star, many are hoping to reignite the Jade Goody effect and encourage girls to get their smears.

When appearing on Lorraine, two women revealed how Jade had saved their lives, as they took her advice and went to the doctors for their smear.

Georgina, who at the time already had a little girl, opened up on how she needed a hysterectomy despite showing no symptoms.

She told the host: ‘I watched and followed everything that had happened to Jade, and it really upset me, epecially how she had left her two boys behind, so I had to get tested straight away.

‘The doctors said I’d got severe changes in my cervix and this followed with the bad news that I had got an aggressive tumour.’

The mother-of-one added: ‘They removed my lymphoids, but this didn’t work so I had to have a hysterectomy.

‘I was 25, I had no symptoms at all and I thought that I was healthy – but I really wasn’t.’

Georgina was joined by Hayley who had also been through a similar experience.

Urging people to get their smear, she added: ‘I did ignore my smears, I had the, “it wont happen to me” attitude.

‘But I followed her story and I got tested after she passed away – 100 per cent she made me go for my smear.’

The guest added: ‘They found an aggressive tumour and I had to have a hysterectomy in 2009 – but I’m here.

‘Jade saved my life, and we need to keep the legacy alive.’

Chatting about what the smear test is for, she added: ‘It’s not to detect cancer it’s to detect precancerous cells, which could lead to cancer.’

Jade Goody sadly passed away in 2009 at the age of 27 after being diagnosed with cervical cancer.

She left behind two sons, Bobby, 15, and Freddie, 14, as well as her husband Jack Tweed.

*Contains Schitt’s Creek season five spoilers.

Schitt’s Creek’s Patrick (Noah Reid) came out in the show’s most recent episode when his boyfriend David (Dan Levy) threw him a surprise birthday party and invited his parents.

After months of the storyline being teased, the grand event was accidentally put into motion by Johnny (Eugene Levy), who made the mistake of assuming that Patrick’s mum and dad knew that him and David are not only business partners, but dating as well.

With a spanner quickly thrown into the works, Patrick confessed his fears to David about telling them the truth about his sexuality, but with the help of his other half – who assessed the damage control – Patrick was able to take charge of his moment.

Unsurprisingly the emotional and powerful scenes had viewers across the globe in tears, with the show’s creator Dan, explaining that exploring Patrick’s sexuality was always on the table.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, he explained: ‘I always knew we were going to deal with Patrick’s sexuality in a slightly more specific way at some point.

‘You never want a character to seem too perfect. We thought it would be a real eye-opener for David if he were to find out something like this — and certainly shed some light on Patrick as well.’

Dan was eager to make sure Patrick’s parents weren’t written to be homophobic, adding to the publication: ‘That was the obstacle: Knowing that his parents cannot be against him coming out, what does that story look like?

Dan thanked his fans for the messages of support following the episode (Picture: Twitter)

‘We landed on playing on the sort of common parental fears of feeling like they’ve done something wrong, but in actuality their fears are based on the fact that he didn’t tell them, not that they have anything but love for their son.

‘So the minute we knew that we had that kind of hook, things sort of fell into place.’

After the episode aired, the show’s creator and actor Dan tweeted his fans, writing: ‘Tonight’s episode was one of the hardest/most rewarding creative experiences of my (short) career.

‘I’m very grateful for the opportunity. Thank you all for watching.’

Schitt’s Creek is airs Wednesdays on CBC in the US.

Married At First Sight star Ning admitted she wanted to ‘stab’ her ‘husband’ Mark when they first met.

The Australian version of the show, where singletons get married moments after meeting for the first time, aired the shocking comment during a dinner party.

Ning said her ‘marriage’ to Mark didn’t get off to the best start.

When ‘groom’ Mick Gould commented on how Ning and Mark didn’t take to each other at first, Ning replied: ‘Oh yeah, I wanted to kill him. I wanted to stab him with a knife!’

Another ‘bride’ at the gathering, Jules, appeared stunned by Ning’s comment.

It’s a good time to get into Married At First Sight Australia as the couples are set to be rocked by a shock announcement at the last commitment ceremony.

Jess and Dan have been secretly having an affair on the show, spending time together without their respective ‘spouses’.

In a teaser for the explosive episode on Sunday, Jess sits down with the dating experts and admits that she has found a meaningful relationship…outside of her ‘marriage’ to Mick.

Jess explained: ‘I came into this experiment wanting to find somebody that I could build a life with. Someone that makes me happy and makes me feel confident and I’ve found that but it’s not with Mick. It’s with Dan. He’s my future.’

She is later told: ‘People have been deeply hurt here’ before Mick rages: ‘You are the most selfish brat ever.’

Meanwhile, Ning’s original dislike of her other half doesn’t seem to have gone away in a further preview clip as Mark begs her not to give up on him.

He says: ‘I just hope you don’t base your decision on what everyone else around you is saying. We’ve worked hard to get where we are now.’

Metro.co.uk has contacted Nine for comment.

Pete Wicks’ confidence about bagging his date of choice for the Celebs Go Dating finale faced an awkward stumbling block, after he was rejected just before he was about to pop the question.

The reality show revolves around celebrities securing a date for the final episode in Tenerife, with contestants often having to choose between two potential candidates.

TOWIE star Pete Wicks faced a decision between Poppy and Demi, and looked like he was about to ask the latter if she’d like to join him at the Canary Island resort.

As Pete worked up verbal magic by telling Demi she was the nicest girl he’d met during the Celebs Go Dating process, she interjected to drop the friend-zone anchor.

Demi cut through the noise (Picture: E4)

‘I really respect you and obviously we do get on really well,’ Demi said. ‘But I don’t know about you but I do feel like it’s a friendship level. Do you think that or not?’

As narrator Rob Beckett cracked up laughing over the top, Pete replied: ‘I’m surprised you’ve said it.

‘Do you know what? I genuinely really respect you for that.’

Speaking about the exchange afterwards, Pete said: ‘Pete the pirate got pied! We went on a date and I really, really loved the girl.

‘But she went, “Actually, I see us more as friends.” I was unhappy, I got friend-zoned at the last hurdle, I got pied.’

Pete Wicks got pied off (Picture: E4)

Pete then gives Poppy a call, who agrees to attend the finale with him in Tenerife.

Things were panning out slightly better for Jack Fowler, who ventured to Tenerife with his date Kate and enjoyed hot tubs and champagne together.

Speaking to Kate, Jack said: ‘I feel like it’s so easy to get on with you. I don’t feel as though I have to dig for conversation. I feel like you’re quite chilled, I’m quite chilled.’

Celebs Go Dating finale kicks off Thursday on E4 9pm.

Mums Make Porn star Jane Chelliah decided to quit the show because her religion made her question the ‘morality’ of what they were doing.

The Channel 4 show was an experiment which saw five mums make an ethical porn film they would be happy for their kids to watch.

Jane, who is Christian, walked away from the project as she was concerned it would appear as though she is ‘sanctioning porn’.

‘I’m a practicing Christian and it was about the morality of what I was going to do,’ she told Digital Spy.

‘Nobody would have looked it and thought, “Oh Jane is sanctioning this one movie”, it would have been all of porn.

The mums paid a visit to an adult film set on the show (Picture: Channel 4)

‘And I just thought about the consequences and ramifications, and that is something I didn’t want to be part of.

‘I didn’t want to be part of something that places such a burden on young people.’

Despite her decision to quit, her creative input remained.

Wednesdays episode saw mum Sarah-Louise vomit on her first visit to an adult film set.

Sarah-Louise met porn star Roxie who told them: ‘You’re going to see some oral, some sex, and a c*m shot at the end.’

After witnessing the crucial scene, Sarah-Louise darted out and was sick in the nearest bush.

‘It wasn’t that it offended me, I thought she’s beautiful,’ Sarah-Louise said. ‘I just felt the whole time I was going to throw up.

‘I think it might be the c*m bit that’s knocked me.’

The documentary has come under fire from Loose Women host Ruth Langsford who feels the ethical version of porn won’t help young people.

Mums Make Porn continues Wednesday at 10pm on Channel 4

Queer Eye fans have set up a GoFundMe page for Jess Guilbeaux (Picture: Netflix)

Queer Eye fans are proving they’re best ever by setting up a fundraiser to send Jess Guilbeaux to college.

Jess, 23, starred in the fifth episode of season three with the Fab Five helping to transform her life into the ‘strong, black lesbian’ she wanted to be, however they weren’t able to raise enough money to send her back to university.

So of course, viewers have worked their magic.

The self-professed ‘lumberjack lesbian’ was kicked out of her home by her parents when she came out at the tender age of 16 and was later forced to drop out of education due to increasing debts.

Fans have now stepped in to help, having set up a GoFundMe page in Jess’s honour with a target of $100,000.

‘She [Jess] started taking classes at the University of Kansas as a Computer Science major but had to drop out due to debt,’ reads the page description, ‘Let’s send this smart and strong woman back to college to complete what she began and give her the future she deserves.’

So far an impressive $35,490 has been raised in just four days, with a number of messages of support.

One person wrote: ‘Everyone deserves a chance to succeed. Watching Jess not be accepted for who she is and losing the support of her family is unconscionable. I had my family’s support and I want to pass it on. She is worthy!!!’

Echoing a similar sentiment, another added: ‘My family and I have donated because we were incredibly moved by the episode on Queer Eye about Jess.

‘We think she is an unbelievably amazing strong black lesbian woman. She is so incredibly inspiring.’

Jess has confirmed to Metro.co.uk that she has full control of the GoFundMe account.

Queer Eye is available to stream on Netflix.

Only Fools And Horses’ John Challis backs petition to have Del Boy statue outside tower block

Del Boy’s gone gold (Picture: UKTV)

Only Fools And Horses star John Challis, aka Boycie, has backed a petition calling for a golden Del Boy statue to be placed outside Nelson Mandela house.

The beloved 90s sitcom used Harlech Tower in Acton, West London, to portray Del Boy’s tower block home Nelson Mandela house, even though the show was set in Peckham.

There are now plans, however, to have Harlech Tower demolished in a £650 million regeneration of the area, which will see over 3,500 homes constructed.

Explaining his reasons for backing the petition from TV channel Gold to commemorate the tower’s sitcom history, Challis said: ‘The towers carry a lot of nostalgia for many of us, not just the cast, but everyone who has enjoyed watching the show over the years.

‘While we don’t want to stand in the way of any progress being made, we do want to commemorate the towers’ long-standing connection to Only Fools And Horses and its British comedy legacy.’

The TV channel have even concocted mock-up plans of how they could commemorate Del Boy’s crib, including a plaque, bench, and a gold statue.

The mocked-up plaque reads: ‘This plaque commemorates Nelson Mandela House, the much loved home of Derek & Rodney Trotter in Only Fools And Horses, 1981-2003.’

Only Fools And Horses is often regarded as one of the greatest sitcoms ever (Picture: BBC)

There’s even a golden version of Del Boy’s Reliant Regal van knocked up in golden form, which is quite something.

The petition requires 1,500 signatures for it to be brought forward to Ealing Council’s consideration.

Only Fools And Horses is having a nostalgic resurgence following the release of a new West End musical version, starring Paul Whitehouse.

Princess Diana and Freddie Mercury’s trip to the Vauxhall Tavern will be explored in the new series of Urban Myths.

There has been much speculation surrounding the tale of Princess Diana’s trip to the Vauxhall Tavern.

Rumour has it that her A-lister buddies, Freddie Mercury and Kenny Everett, dressed the royal up as a man and took her on a night out to the infamous venue.

Whether or not the story actually happened still remains a mystery, however many people have discussed the evening including the comedian Cleo Rocos.

It’s said Freddie helped sneak her into the venue (Picture: WireImage)

Writing in her book The Power of Positive Drinking, the star claimed that the group had been enjoying champagne at Kenny’s home, when Diana asked about their plans for the evening.

They told her that they were planning heading out to one of the most iconic gay venues in London – and well the mother-of-two is said to have jumped at the chance to join them.

Dressing her up in Kenny’s clothes, Rocos claimed the star looked like ‘a rather eccentrically dressed gay male model.’

She added in her memoir: ‘Diana and Freddie were giggling, but she did order a white wine and a beer. Once the transaction was completed, we looked at one another, united in our triumphant quest. We did it!

Cleo Rocos spoke about the speculation in her book (Picture: Getty Images)

‘When we walked in… we felt she was obviously Princess Diana and would be discovered at any minute.

‘But people just seemed to blank her. She sort of disappeared. But she loved it.’

Now, years after the night is said to have taken place, the comedy show Urban Myths will explore the speculation in the upcoming series.

The episode will star the likes of Mathew Baynton (Kenny Everett), David Avery (Freddie Mercury), Richard Gadd (Gareth) and Sophie Rundle (Princess Diana).

All eight episodes available on-demand on Sky. The full season will be released as a box set 10 April on Sky Arts and NOW TV.
