In perhaps one of the HBO show’s biggest twists to date, the Night King (played by Vladimir Furdik) was defeated and the world saved by none other than Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) and viewers are wondering if she used her faceless assassin skills.
Not that we ever doubted her, despite the Mary-Sue naysayers, but we were lead to believe that Jon (Kit Harington) would face him in the ultimate showdown.
It’s not entirely clear just how Arya managed got so close to the NK to deliver the fatal blow, but the episode set up her ability to be quiet and swift in combat really well.
She seemed to jump out of nowhere with viewers wondering how the other White Walkers let her slip through and get so dangerously close to their leader.
Well, it looks like she may have been disguised as a White Walker and honestly, that’s the best thing we’ve ever heard.
The moment the penny dropped (Picture: HBO)
Taking to Twitter, one fan pointed out the lingering shot on one of the White Walkers just before Arya attacked the NK.
Fan India Parkman wrote: ‘So did anyone else notice this dude’s face glimmer?? Was Arya wearing a wight’s face?? #GameOfThrones.’
That you Arya? (Picture: HBO/Twitter)
He’s a technically a White Walker not a wight but the point still stands.
Over on Reddit, the same question was brought up.
Carlossuberviola theorised: ‘When Melisandre tells Arya about her shutting blue eyes forever, she gives her a hint about her ability to transform into anything that she kills (even wights). The reason why Arya was able to appear out of nowhere and kill the Night King was that she was able to disguise herself as a wight and lead all the White Walkers into believing that she was part of their army.’
We have some questions about how she pulled this feat off so hopefully, we find out in episode four.
Game of Thrones season 8 continues on Sunday on HBO and Monday on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV.

Pete (Henry Garrett, left) has a lot to discuss with mogul dad Eli (Pierce Brosnan) (Picture: AMC/VanRedin)
The Son’s second and final season has landed back on our screens with a bang – and actor Henry Garrett has warned that just because the show is going, doesn’t mean they’re going quietly.
AMC and Amazon Prime’s Western drama series – an adaptation of a book with the same name – stars Pierce Brosnan as complicated wannabe oil baron Eli McCullough, and the troubles within his family relationships and past – particularly son Pete, played by Henry.
Even though there’s only one season to go, Henry has assured us that it’s the right move, as opting for the ‘two and out’ option meant the series didn’t fade on quality like other series.
Speaking to Metro.co.uk, he explained: ‘Personally I think it’s a shame because I had such a great time filming it, and I really enjoyed working with the writers and directors, and the cast. I loved working in Austin.
‘However, the two seasons really encapsulate the essence of the book, which for me is important. I’d prefer to have something short and sweet be put out there, as opposed to something that drags on and people getting sick of it, then trying to reinvent it in various different ways.’
But as the tale of the McCullough family begins to wind up – and a lot of questions hang over the series as it begins to unfold, the brutality of Eli’s behaviour has consequences for the family.
Henry’s character Pete returned back into the generational family home at the beginning of season two, after previously running away in a bid to save his mistress Maria Garcia from the McCulloughs, who slaughtered everyone else.
Facing his father Eli, brother Phineas, wife Sally and daughter Jeannie – Pete had some serious explaining to do to get back into the family good books.
As Eli prepares to hand the family business over, and start shaping up his children to take over from him, sibling rivalry comes into play – and it’s going to get interesting.
‘The second season’s going to be a bit of a bang,’ he teased. ‘I think we’re happy with the two good seasons.’
The Son is available now on Amazon Prime Video.

Speaking exclusively to Metro.co.uk, the 30-year-old admitted there have been times she wanted to make a shock appearance on the ITV series – but this year isn’t one of them.
When asked about a potential comeback, she told us: ‘It’s just not it’s not a focus I’ve not gone into this year thinking about… There have been years where I’ve spoken to them, [had meetings] and wanted the job [and] it’s not happened.
‘But this year is really such a good year for me, because I’ve got the three-single record. I’ve got the acting and a lead role in a film. So my year is pretty panned out.
‘It’s not something that I’m not shutting down, I would be open to it if they want to have a conversation with me but it’s just not at the forefront. It’s not on my radar basically. But if we have a phone call, ask me then, until that happens, it’s not something to think about.’
She also revealed there is always hype whenever a seat becomes available on the panel – and is only linked to the show because of her previous stint.
Tulisa last appeared on the ITV show back in 2013 (Picture: ITV)
‘To me, this is non-existent. I’ve not even had a conversation. So it’s all just hype that I feel comes around every year,’ she continued. ‘Because every year when there’s ever a space on the panel, anyone that was a judge is a potential judge.
‘So people just love to like talk and cause a thing out of it.
‘I haven’t even had a conversation with these people. So if anything’s going on, I am not involved in it and I do not have a clue.’
Well, to be fair, Tulisa did mentor Little Mix into the final, so it’s no wonder fans would love to see her back.
But another reason she might not be all that keen to return to Simon Cowell’s talent show is that she has recently found herself again – after ‘fitting herself into a mould’ for the series.
Tulisa has unveiled her W7 Cosmetics launch (Picture: GoffPhotos)
The former N-Dubz star recently returned to the music scene for the first time in years – having taken a break following her stint on the ITV show.
She took some time out to gather her strength after multiple scandals, legal battles and a sex tape leak – but the Best Behaviour singer is finally ready to take on the charts again.
‘On a family show, you have to keep up appearances, and fit into a mould. I definitely adapted myself a lot and played a version of myself for a long time,’ she said.
‘This is the Tulisa that would have come out as a solo artist straight off of N-Dubz. Take X Factor out of the equation and this is the kind of artist I would always be.’
And we are living for it.
Tulisa collaborates with W7 Cosmetics for Spring/Summer 2019, www.w7cosmetics.co.uk.

The Walking Dead has greater expectations on season ten (Picture: Jackson Lee Davis/AMC)
The Walking Dead is approaching its tenth season of apocalyptic survival among the zombie hordes, but where does the show go next?
Under new showrunner Angela Kang, The Walking Dead has managed to largely change the show’s conversation from prospective doom to hopeful interest, throwing in time jumps, the Whisperers, while juggling key departing cast members which threatened to sink the ship entirely.
There’s a similar task ahead for the show’s tenth season, albeit with greater expectations. Despite its transformation, there’s still many areas where The Walking Dead could improve – so here’s what we’re hoping will come to fruition in the next dive back into Georgia.
A definitive exit for Michonne
Michonne is leaving The Walking Dead in season 10 (Picture: AMC)
I wasn’t a fan of Andrew Lincoln’s ‘exit’ from the show in season nine. A character who started the entire show deserves to have his arc completed there, and not used as a carrot stick to pull fans towards a trilogy of movies to extend the franchise.
Danai Gurira is leaving behind Michonne in season ten, and there’s concern the show could pull a similar trick of half measures. While Danai’s blossoming career outside The Walking Dead points to a departure of no return, the show could be tempted to build some sort of reunion in Rick’s movies.
Michonne, however, deserves better than that. She’s a pillar of the show who has mothered its future in Judith and RJ, and a hero’s death as she takes on the questionable motherly nature of Alpha is the only route which would make the most impact.
For Maggie’s return to mean more than a new haircut
Maggie Rhee is expected to return in season 10 (Picture: AMC)
There’s tendency in TV shows to use fresh haircuts as some visual signifier of growth or change in a character. Think Breaking Bad’s Walter White to Heisenberg or Sansa Stark’s growth as a leader in Game Of Thrones.
Maggie was absent for a large chunk of season nine, with it later revealed how she went to meet Georgie to ‘build some new community’. She’s expected to return in season ten, and there’s a risk her absence will be breezed over without much consequence (making it obvious it was clashing contractual obligations on another show).
A lot has happened since Maggie has been away, however, most notably in the deaths of Hilltop members Jesus (Tom Payne) and Tara (Alanna Masterson). The show would be wise to lean into the inevitable guilt she’ll feel over these consequences, while others, maybe Daryl (Norman Reedus) could contest why she ever abandoned them in the first place.
Give Siddiq some god damn screen-time
Siddiq deserves better (Picture: AMC)
Siddiq (Avi Nash) is easily the most underutilised character on the show. Last season he was mostly relegated as Michonne’s adviser, before being given a moving speech about the survivors who fought for their lives against the Whisperers.
It was a rare, long overdue moment where Siddiq was centre stage. The show seems to forget he was trusted and ushered into the group by Carl (Chandler Riggs) as one of his final acts, something which has the potential for some serious dramatic heft. Instead, the show seems more interested in peddling him off with an odd affair romance story with Rosita.
As the show gradually loses main characters, it’d be nice to see prime candidate Siddiq step up to the plate in a bigger, more integral, capacity.
Keep up the spontaneity
We want more shocks scattered throughout (Picture: AMC)
One of the best aspects of season nine was how it broke The Walking Dead’s long-worn episode pattern. Big shocks were no longer reserved for midseason and season finales, with big deaths and pivotal moments scattered throughout at a satisfying pace, particularly in the second half.
The show would be wise to keep up the same surprising momentum considering how transparent the formula had become, especially on a show where deaths are part of the everyday cycle.
Alpha and Lydia’s relationship to play a bigger role
Alpha and Lydia’s relationship was one of the most interesting dynamics (Picture: AMC)
A large part of The Walking Dead’s success in season nine was due to Samantha Morton’s performance as Alpha, who practically stole every scene with her creepy rasps, blurry moral code and dead-eyed stares.
A key reason why this character is interesting is her daughter Lydia (Cassady McClincy), who represents the flicker of humanity Alpha previously had. Their backstory was uncovered in season nine, but with the death of Lydia’s boyfriend Henry, she now has considerable reason to despise what her mother’s become.
The show has a big opportunity to craft this storyline in a way where Lydia becomes a major player moving forward. If it can present and nail this story in season ten, most likely resulting in Alpha’s inevitable demise, there’s a pretty compelling jump-start for an entire new era of the show.
Daryl Vs Beta round two
Sure it was silly, but Daryl’s fight with the Michael Myers-esque Beta was the most enjoyable sequence the show’s had in a long time – playing out like a WWE wrestling match with deadly saws and planks of wood.
Is it too much to ask for a second round? We just want a colossal brawl to rival the final fight in Terminator 2: Judgment Day, only on the back of Daryl’s motorbike as it soars off a cliff.
Over to you, The Walking Dead.
The Walking Dead is expected to return for season ten later this year.
The Handmaid’s Tale season three trailer has officially landed and Offred is about to cause some serious havoc in Gilead.
Fresh from the events that left viewers hanging (if not a little confused) at the end of season two (no spoilers), Elisabeth Moss’s character appears to be forming some alliances in unlikely places in a bid to take the totalitarian society down to its knees.
As Offred/June begins to lead the revolution among the Handmaid’s, the new trailer sees Offred on the hunt for alliances – especially one with influence.
She is soon seen bonding with her former owner/employer Serena Joy (Yvonne Strahovski) – who is definitely that and then some.
Using her position in society, Offred tells Serena to take advantage of her life as a Waterford – with husband Fred (Joseph Fiennes) look a little threatened at his wife’s new fight for power.
Laying side-by-side as they smoke cigarettes, which is a very strict no-no for women in the male-ruled land, the pair are heard coming up with a plan that will benefit them both.
June and Nick’s relationship is keeping them both strong (Picture: Hulu)
Breaking all the rules, the pair are preparing for war.
Blessed be the battle, as the trailer teases.
As the world falls apart, June appears to have a man on the inside with boyfriend Nick (Max Minghella), as their relationship holds strong even if still in secret.
In the meantime, Offglen (Alexis Bledel) can be seen clinging on to her baby as she tries to navigate the world and keep the child safe, trying to keep herself until lock and key.
Serena and June/Offred form an unlikely alliance (Picture: Hulu)
Now far and away from the original source material of the 1985 book by Margeret Atwood, Offred acknowledges her controversial choice to remain in Gilead at the end of season two.
‘At least there’s still hope if I’m here. Now Mom’s got work,’ she is heard saying.
This season, Elizabeth Reaser (Haunting Of Hill House) and Christopher Meloni (Law and Order: SVU) join the cast as a husband and wife duo The Winslows, friends to the Waterfords.
Serena and Offred reach a mutual understanding (Picture: Hulu)
Hosting the family on a trip away, their meeting will trigger a massive turning point for the Waterfords, with the Commander and particularly his wife, proving to be a ‘friend and inspiration’ to Serena, according to Variety.
Could she be the push Serena needs to switch sides?
Let the battle commence, citizens.
The Handmaid’s Tale returns 5 June on Hulu in the US and at a later date in the UK.

The Chase viewers were left cringing in shock when a contestant forced a kiss on Bradley Walsh – despite him not reciprocating.
Bradley looked completely bewildered when eccentric hopeful Kathy, fresh from a £6,000 win against Anne Hegerty, jumped up and down and then hugged him.
Then once the applause had died down, she moved in and kissed him as Bradley stood frozen.
It was awkward to say the least.
As everyone around looked bewildered, Bradley looked shocked and Anne looked unimpressed, Kathy looked none the wiser at the uncomfortable moment she had just caused.
Married Bradley, who has been with wife Donna since 1997, made a point to then shake Donna’s hand and keep his distance as he sent her back to the table.
Viewers were horrified at the moment (Picture: ITV)
Still not quite believing what had just happened, Bradley looked dumbfounded as Anne announced: ‘That was… unusual. Are you alright?’
Bradley then kept his composure as he cut to commercial, quipping that he ‘needed a lie down’ as the episode disappeared off screen.
Viewers at home were quick to jump to the host’s defence, saying that it was inappropriate and that if their genders were switched – and a male contestant went in for a kiss from a woman, then it wouldn’t have been played off for laughs as it was done on the show.
After winning the final showdown ahead of the show, Kathy looked chuffed with the only other player to win until the end.
She then cooed: ‘I’m going to go to a neutrino conference Bradley and I’ll think of you!’
‘If you’re going to a neutrino conference anywhere in the world, look out for Kathy,’ Bradley warned. ‘She’s coming.’
The Chase continues weekdays at 5pm on ITV1.

London Hughes lifted the lid on life behind the scenes on CBBC (Picture: CBBC/Getty)
Ex-CBBC presenter London Hughes has lifted the lid on the boozy backstage antics of the children’s TV show – admitting she was throwing up on set when the cameras weren’t rolling.
The personality, who appeared as a CBBC presenter for two years back in the early 2010s, admitted in a new interview that she would get plastered on free alcohol on nights out before with her castmates before suffering at work the next day.
Speaking to Richard Herring on the Leicester Square Theatre Podcast, London explained: ‘CBBC is crazy. I got stories, now that I’ve left, I can say what I want.
‘There’s so much stuff that goes on there. They have the best parties – Blue Peter parties, oh my God. Free bar, everyone throwing up on the One Show sofa, it’s mad.’
During the chat, London bragged that taxpayers – who keep the BBC afloat ‘paid for that s**t’ and that it was customary to throw parties weekly with the other kids TV presenters.
‘I didn’t start drinking until I became a CBBC presenter,’ she confessed. ‘Literally they all say “it’s wine Thursday, what you drinking?”
London kept it together on set alongside co-star Chris (Picture: CBBC)
‘I’m like “babes i just want a lemonade” and they’d go [chanting] “down it. down it”, then I’m on live TV going ‘coming up next is Scooby Doo,’ she added.
‘It’s crazy, but it’s a lot of fun and taxpayers pay for that sh*t.” I loved it. Best job ever.’
Metro.co.uk has contacted CBBC representatives for comment.
Since leaving the BBC show, London’s comedy has turned slightly more adult – joining Celebs Go Dating and trying to make her name as a stand-up comedian.
She even had a plan in place to launch a travel show alongside Hollywood legend Whoopi Goldberg, but reportedly no one wanted it.

Their prints will stand alongside stars including Stan Lee, Dwayne Johnson, Nicholas Cage, Michael Jackson and Arnold Schwarzenegger to name a few.

Nicholas Lyndhurst reckons the show wouldn’t have survived today (Picture: Rex)
Only Fools and Horses star Nicholas Lyndhurst reckons the iconic BBC sitcom would never make it to the screens together because today’s audience wouldn’t allow the ‘cruelty in the comedy’.
The actor will be forever known as the hapless but loveable Rodney Trotter from the sitcom, whose wheeler-dealer brother Del Boy (David Jason) would be constantly getting them both into scrapes.
But as the constant butt of the joke, Nicholas reckons that the kind of comedy in the series wouldn’t fly in today’s world if it was new.
‘I think they’d probably look at the précis of it and go, “Well, it’s two people just fighting each other all the time,”’ he told BBC Breakfast this morning.
‘You have to have cruelty in comedy – if you take the victim out of comedy, or out of a joke, there is no joke. It’s quite PC, rightly or wrongly.
‘Comedy is about, “I’m glad that didn’t happen to me” [or] “Look at him, he fell down that hole”.’
The broad comedy has kept fans giggling for decades (Picture: BBC)
‘Chaplin knew all about it and we laughed at Chaplin because it wasn’t us falling down the hole,’ he added.
Over the course of the show’s run, which started all the way back in 1981, a number of the key cast members have died, leaving Lyndhurst finding the show too upsetting to catch on a rerun.
Among those who have died include Buster Merryfield (Uncle Albert); Roger Lloyd-Pack (Trigger); Lennard Pearce (Grandad) and the show’s creator, John Sullivan.
‘I can’t watch it now. I don’t want to see friends who are no longer with us on screen,’ he told Daily Mail.
‘We used to go and surprise them on their birthdays. We used to wind them up. We used to tease each other. It was a family. So yeah, it’s sad.’
He added that it was “horrible” that he mainly sees co-star David Jason at funerals now.

There’s a new battle to prepare for (Picture: HBO)
The Battle Of Winterfell has been won – and now Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow have to forge a new plan quick to end the battle of the Iron Throne once and for all in the new Game of Thrones.

Gathering together the dead, the team are seen taking a moment to pay their respects to those whose lives were lost (which, on top of hundreds of Army men, included seven recurring characters that played a key role in the lives of our leading men and women.)
With Jon leading the procession, three of the eight photos teasing the upcoming episode appear to be based at the funeral, as the citizens and their leaders gaze upon the pile of bodies whose lives were sacrificed in a bid to stop the Night King.

But they can’t be too mopey for too long, as a whole new battle is already under preparation – the fight in King’s Landing to take back the throne from Cersei Lannister.
Cersei, who is seen staring upon her kingdom alongside snakey Euron Greyjoy, has one hell of a fight on her hands in order to keep her position reigning the Seven Kingdoms.

The Targaryen boats are seen at sea – so we know that the end is coming. And with Dany’s ever faithful dragon Drogon by her side, they might just be unstoppable.
(If they can figure out what to do next of course in regards to the whole “I’m sleeping with my nephew who’s also the rightful heir to the throne” thing with Jon and Dany.)
With the first half of the final series already over, viewers have been left on tenterhooks as to where things go from here.

Jaden Smith is set to play Kanye West in new show – but it’s not a biopic (Picture: Getty)
Kanye West is launching a TV series on Showtime with Jaden Smith playing the young version of the singer himself.
Yup, you read that right.
Though while Jaden may be playing a version of the eccentric star, this won’t exactly be a biopic on West’s life – as the series will see him journey through alternate realities.
The series, titled Omniverse, is allegedly planning to ‘examine the many doors of perception’, and is being created alongside West, writer Lee Sung Jin, and music manager mogul, Scooter Braun.
Colour us intrigued, Kanye.
It work as an anthology series, with each 30-minute installment focusing on a different potential universe that Kanye would inhabit.
Kanye will be keeping a close eye on the show as executive producer (Picture: Invision/AP)
The concept of ego will be among the topics the episodes delve into.
A pilot script has already been given the green light by US network Showtime, but it’s not yet known how far into the show’s production Ye and the team currently are.
So now Kanye can add ‘executive producer’ on top of his evergrowing list of accolades including; clothing designer; church preacher; recording artist; touring musician; and recurring character on Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
Honestly, sign us up right this second.
Speaking about the project, writer Lee Sung Jin said: ‘I’m honored and thrilled to be collaborating with everyone involved to present an alternate world through the eyes of a young man somewhere in the multiverse who happens to also be a Kanye West.
‘Omniverse is not set in our world nor about our world’s Kanye West, as we aim to add a new spin on alternate realities, consciousness, and push the limits of half hour narrative.’
Omniverse launches on Showtime in the US at a later date.

‘I was never in contract to do another one, none of us were,’ he told us, ‘so I guess it’d be basically who they could get back and, when they decide to do it, who’s available kind of thing.’
Ben also confirmed that he wouldn’t be available if a new series was to be ordered, adding: ‘‘I’m pretty much blocked off until July next year.
While there is no confirmed return date for the series as yet, we know that it makes a comeback for six episodes this time around.

‘I was lucky because the horses was my escape –when I wasn’t dealing with them everything else was negative, but they were the positive.’
Talking about how the animals can help people, he added: ‘Horses are therapeutic, people say the dog is man’s best friend but I firmly believe a horse is.

‘It’s not about riding, you can just be a person who likes to interact with horses. They’re very useful with treating types of behaviours – behavioural issues, special needs…
‘They’re a type of animal to increase confidence, they are fantastic.’
He then went on to chat about his life before getting involved in the stables, and continued: ‘Drug dealing – yeah.
‘It came to the point that I got my license to train horses when I was 17 years old and I was one of the youngest to train horses.
‘I did go a bit wild – that came with the territory of that environment.’

Freedom explained: ‘But a part of the reason why I set up Urban Equestrian is – a lot of people get put into a lot of stereotypical ways of thinking.
‘If you looked at me you wouldn’t think I was a horse person, when I am.’
The author explained the difference between horse owners in the UK compared to those in Antigua, and how he felt isolated after coming home.
‘When I came back to the UK to study horses further,’ he said before adding: ‘I found a very different world – it was very white privileged and very elitist, it was really for them.’
‘When I came back here I faced racism, social isolation, no one could understand how I fit into this world.

‘It came to a point where I fell out of love with the horse world over here because I wasn’t accepted.’
However, Freedom managed to turn this around with his new programme, which he revealed has already started to see results.
‘Two per cent of ethnic minorities make up the equestrian world,’ he told the hosts.
‘I’m not going to wait for anyone to tell me to do something about it , I always knew I could, I wish I did this 10 years earlier.
‘You see a massive difference, when we take young people from the city out into the country they become so much more calmer, so much more happy.
‘They want to get involved in anything.’

Friends star Lisa Kudrow has been spotted filming a brand new series in the UK as filming for Mae and George gets underway.
Lisa, 55, will be playing the protagonist’s mother Linda in the semi-autobiographical comedy which follows recovering addict and comedian Mae, who is played by new talent Mae Martin.
Comedy fans might recognise Canadian Mae from Netflix stand-up special Comedians of the World.
Production for the series has kicked off in Manchester and Lisa has been spotted filming on location.
She took to Instagram to share a snap with herself and her on-screen daughter standing in front of the iconic Blackpool Tower.
The Channel 4 produced show is described as: ‘a deeply personal, darkly hilarious and poignant story about the unique pressures of navigating the modern-day fluid landscape of gender and sexuality’.
Creator Mae said she is ‘excited to make a show that is both funny and sad, like our lives, and I hope they’ve factored therapy into the budget because I’m already hanging by a thread’.
And the addition of a huge star like Lisa certainly adds to Mae and George’s appeal and will likely pique the interest of Phoebe Buffay fans worldwide.
Lisa’s character is Mae’s ‘powerful and charismatic mother Linda who, despite living in Canada, still impacts Mae’s life from afar’.
‘I’m thrilled to be playing Linda but I first fell in love with Mae and the scripts she and Joe [Hampson] wrote,’ the actress said in a statement.
‘It’s sweet and very funny and awkward and well observed.’
Other recognisable faces making up the cast include Call the Midwife’s Charlotte Ritchie who will play Mae’s new girlfriend, George.
Adrian Lukis of The Crown fame plays Mae’s English father and Sophie Thompson from Detectorists stars as Maggie, Mae’s fellow recovering addict and confidante.
Joe Hampson co-wrote the series with Martin and his previous writing credits include Skins and Newsjack.
Outside of the UK, Mae and George will be airing on Netflix.
Mae and George is currently in production for E4 and is expected to be released later this year.
Writing to his 814,000 Instagram followers, Wil wrote a particularly moving open letter about his emotions since his time on The Big Bang Theory ended, how the comedy changed his life and hopefully the rest of his career.
Wil was easily the unsung hero of The Big Bang Theory (Picture: CBS)
‘Last night, I went to Stage 25, now known as The Big Bang Theory Stage, and watched the taping of the final episode of the show that has brought more joy into my life than anything else I’ve ever done in my professional career,’ he began.
‘I have a lot of feelings and emotions to unpack, and they are all too raw and turbulent to do that today. Maybe after I go to the wrap party tonight. Maybe in a few days. Maybe it’s too personal to ever properly convey what it means and has meant to me since I joined the show in the second season. Maybe I’ll try right now and see what comes out.
‘I think it’s fair to say that if I built a tripod out of my career, the main legs would be Stand By Me, Star Trek, and The Big Bang Theory. It kind of blows me away that I get to say that. It is remarkable to me that I have gotten to have all of these things in my life, when honestly just ONE of them would be more than anyone could hope for on his or her resume.’
He continued: ‘Mainstream Hollywood doesn’t seem to be especially interested in me and what I bring to a production these days. I don’t know why, and I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to do anything to change that, but I can confidently say that I probably have an on-camera acting career today because of Big Bang Theory, and anything I do on camera for the rest of my career will stand on the shoulders of the work I’ve had the privilege and honor to perform over the last decade.
‘But all of that is just math and *work*, and while I’m grateful for the work, and proud of the work, what I will cherish for the rest of my life are the friends I’ve made among the cast, writers, and crew.
‘This is a picture of me with Kevin Sussman, who was in my very first episode way back before I had any grey in my beard, and I love it, because it’s this silly thing we did whenever we worked together on the stage.
‘”Hey, let’s take a super awkward selfie,” I would say to Kevin, and then this would happen. It’s moments like this, and relationships like this, that truly matter and make the difference in a life, and I’m so lucky and grateful that I have had so many moments like this, with these amazing humans.’
Understandably, the cast were constantly updating fans on social media throughout the whole day with Mayim Bialik sharing an especially heart-warming post.
The Big Bang Theory will wrap up forever on May 16 with a special double bill and it will be a miracle if there enough tissues in the world to accommodate the millions of teary fans.
The Big Bang Theory airs Thursdays on CBS in the UK and E4 in the UK.

SAS: Who Dares Win’s Ollie Ollerton is best known for presenting the tough military survival series and the ex-Special Forces soldier has opened up about his struggles with alcohol addiction during the first series of the show back in 2015.
Ollie, 48, appeared on ITV’s Lorraine this morning to discuss his new autobiography, Break Point, in which he outlines his battle with self-medicating following the return to civilian life.
‘It used it [alcohol] to stop the chatter going on,’ he revealed. ‘It wasn’t a good place to be.’
Ollie was still drinking heavily during the first season of SAS but the experience was so positive, he had quit by the time series two started.
‘I saw how powerful this show was. When Foxy [Jason Fox] went on TV and talked about PTSD it caused a ripple effect right across the UK and I wanted to give it the best shot possible so I cut drink out for series two,’ he said.
‘When I got the end of filming I thought, “I feel really good,” why go back to that [drinking]?
‘I have a drink now, but I’m in control.’

Ollie explained the difficult transition to adjusting back to normal life after serving in the military.
‘I absolutely underestimated that. When you’re behind the wall in the military and Special Forces, you think you’re invincible, you think you’re going to rule the world when you come into Civvy Street.
Ollie was promoting his new book, Break Point (Picture: ITV)
‘It’s not the same for everyone, but for me, I struggled for 10 years, I sort of bounced around the world trying to find my purpose and it wasn’t out there.
‘I had to look within to find it.’
Lorraine Kelly praised the book for being extremely honest and Ollie went on to say how becoming a part of SAS: Who Dares Win really helped him find that purpose.
‘I’m in a good place – the book was 48 years in the making,’ he said.
Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV at 8.30am and SAS Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins airs on Channel 4 on Sunday night at 9pm.

It’s been 15 years since Friends aired its final episode and while it’s still the most popular show across any streaming service in 2019, we can’t overlook the sitcom’s fair share of problems.
Since launching on Netflix, a new generation of Friends fans have relished in watching Rachel, Ross, Monica, Chandler, Joey and Phoebe fall in love, fall out of love, have babies, breaks and weddings.
What they haven’t enjoyed so much are the homophobic, transphobic, and often sexist jokes which just do not fly in 2019.
Among the most problematic moments across the 10 series was the long-running mockery of the trans community through Chandler’s dad, who fronted his own Las Vegas drag show called Viva Las Gaygas.
Creator Marta Kauffman has now admitted that if Friends we made today, naturally the conversation would be very different.
‘I think we didn’t have the knowledge about transgender people back then, so I’m not sure if we used the appropriate terms,’ she told USA Today. ‘I don’t know if I would have known those terms back then. I think that’s the biggest one.’
Kathleen Turner has since admitted she finds the Chandler’s dad joke uncomfortable (Picture: NBC)
Kathleen Turner, who starred as Chandler’s dad, has since admitted Friends ‘hasn’t aged well’.
‘It was a 30 minute sitcom. It became a phenomenon, but no one ever took it seriously as a social comment,’ she told Gay Times.
‘How they approached with me with it, was “would you like to be the first woman playing a man playing a woman?” I said yes, because there weren’t many drag/trans people on television at the time.’
And while she treasured the Thanksgiving episodes, a clear runaway favourite collection among the fandom, there’s one gag Marta would take back.
‘I might have not done the hermaphrodite stuff today if I had that to do over in the one with Brad Pitt,’ she added.
Next Monday May 6 marks 25 years since the very first episode of Friends aired in the United States, but Metro.co.uk recently caught up with a psychologist who explained to us why it’s the show we just can’t quit.
Although, be assured that’s not a bad thing.
Friends is available to stream on Netflix and plays on loop on Comedy Central and now weekend afternoons on Channel 5 are gradually being taken over by the gang too.

Billie Faiers’ wedding was left hanging in the balance when her stepdad was booted off a flight hours before her big day.
The 29-year-old former Towie star was reduced to tears on Mummy Diaries Wedding Special after learning that Dave Chatwood had been removed from a flight heading to the Maldives for arguing with members of the cabin crew.
Dave, who caused an hour and a half delay, insisted that this behaviour was down to a combination of sleeping pills and wine, insisted that he ‘bottled it’ because he was scared of flying.
Hurt by the news, Billie cried: ‘Dad decides to take two sleeping pills and a whole load of alcohol. Selfish.’
She later reflected on the incident to the cameras, admitting: ‘When I first got the phone call about dad not making it onto the flight, I actually thought it was a wind up. I think we all did.’

She added: ‘He had one thing to do, check in and get on the flight.’
But luckily Dave managed to make it to the island ahead of Billie’s big day and explained himself in an emotional heart-to-heart.
‘I thought I’ll take [the sleeping tablet] quickly while I was going through customs,’ he said.
Billie asked: ‘Do you know how worried I was that you wouldn’t even get here?’
Dave replied: ‘I would have swam here for you… there’s only one person that’s going to walk you down the aisle and that’s me.’
Fans were crying at the heartwarming scenes, writing on Twitter: ‘If I don’t get the reaction that Billie Faires got from her dad, I’ve failed as a daughter.’
‘Imagine having a dad that loves you the way Sam & Billie Faiers’ dad loves them,’ added another.
The Mummy Diaries airs Wednesdays at 9pm on ITVBe.
