Josie Gibson has revealed how scary it was to become a single mother when her son, Reggie James, was just three months old, but that she’s never known a love like it.

Speaking on Loose Women, Josie, 34, revealed that she was ‘devastated’ that her perfect family unit didn’t work out, telling the panel: ‘Obviously I’m a single parent now, it’s not what I wanted to come back and say.

‘Because I was so proud that I had the family unit and I’d done it all properly but yeah I am a single parent and things happen, but it’s devastating really.’

Josie added: ‘When you’re a single parent it’s so scary, the first bit is so scary because you think “I’m on my own” and panic sets in.’

She revealed that she and her partner, Terry, had split when Reggie was just three months old but that they ended their relationship on good terms, even going on holiday together with the baby after their break up.

Josie revealed that she loves being a mum so much that she would have had a whole football team’s worth of kids if she had started earlier.

She explained: ‘I would have had 10! I really love being a mum, it’s just amazing. Yeah, I really wish I’d had ten, but unfortunately… well.’

Josie thinks that her love for Reggie may have got in the way of her relationship, admitting: ‘I think that’s what happened because obviously he sleeps with me every night as well, so that was one big problem.

‘[Terry] wanted him to go in his cot, we did spend a lot of money on a cot but I wanted him to stay with me and then there was issues with the breastfeeding.

‘So I think he felt so excluded because [Reggie] came along and I’ve just never loved anything so much in my life! I was so obsessed I don’t even think I looked at him or had a conversation with him or anything. Maybe it was me!’

Josie also brought her gorgeous son out to meet the panel once again after she had announced her pregnancy on the show as well as her gender reveal, admitting Reggie loves the limelight just as much as she does. N’aww.

The Crown star Tobias Menzies has weighed in on Prince Philip’s relationship with his son Prince Charles.

Tobias, who is playing the Duke of Edinburgh in season three, told Entertainment Weekly he felt Prince Philip was a ‘difficult’ father rather than ‘uninterested’.

The actor, taking over the role from Matt Smith, tried to ‘warm up’ the relationship between father and son as he disagreed with showrunner Peter Morgan’s version of it.

He said: ‘We spend very little time together, and I think that’s very much what Peter feels is the truth of that relationship.

‘It’s interesting, I’m constantly sort of trying to warm it up a bit, because I think I might ever so slightly disagree with that idea.

‘I think he is a difficult father, but I don’t think he’s a negligent father or a disinterested father. I get the sense that they’re very different people and his fatherly concern for Charles manifests as slight bullying. But I don’t think he’s uninvolved.’

As he shares more scenes with Princess Anne, played by Erin Doherty, he got the sense Prince Philip was closer with his daughter.

‘We see more of him with Anne. There seems to be a lot of evidence that Anne is a lot more like him, and he gets on a lot more easily with Anne,’ Tobias said.

‘She’s more of a chip off the old block, as it were, more similar in personality, whereas Charles is much more sensitive as a human.’

Prince Charles will be played by The Durrells star Josh O’Connor.

The role of Elizabeth II, played by Claire Foy in seasons one and two, will be played by Olivia Colman with Helena Bonham Carter replacing Vanessa Kirby as Princess Margaret.

The Crown season three returns to Netflix 17 November.

Nadia Sawalha breaks down in tears while talking about the death of her first husband’s suicide

Loose Women panellist Nadia Sawalha broke down in tears while talking about the death of her first husband on the show, as she discussed her life before Loose Women.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the show, all of the panellists will be revealing what they did before the show in a segment called Life Before Loose.

Nadia opened up about the death of her first husband, Justin Mildwater, in 1997 while she was starring in EastEnders, after he died by suicide.

She had married Justin in 1992, but they had split up after five years and he took his own life just months later.

The presenter and actress broke down as she spoke about Justin’s death, telling the audience: ‘I had a real tragedy while I was [on EastEnders], my first husband died and it was a truly, truly awful time for everybody.

‘I had to carry on working, I was in the middle of a very big storyline. That was really hard because when somebody dies, so many people have an idea of how you should behave and how you should be.

‘I remember just saying, “Can someone give me the book on what I’m supposed to be doing?”’

She revealed that one of the first people to reach out to her was her co-star Wendy Richard, who played Pauline Fowler on the soap, who offered her a place to stay if she needed to get away.

‘One of the first calls I got was from Wendy Richard,’ she revealed. ‘I’ll never forget it, she said “I can have a car there straight away, you can come to the flat, you can stay as long as you like”.

‘I didn’t take her up because I was really scared of her, but it was such a lovely thing to do, it really was.’

She said back in 2000 that Justin’s family haven’t spoken to her since his death, telling The Mirror: ‘My husband committed suicide after I’d left him and it’s been hard. I loved Justin very much. I just wasn’t in love with him any more.

‘My real agony is his family, who haven’t spoken to me since. They were very angry with me. It causes me terrible grief and it always will.’

Summer Monteys-Fullam has sparked further speculation of a stint on I’m A Celebrity after liking several Instagram comments.

The 24-year-old, who found fame after dating Great British Bake Off star Paul Hollywood, has been rumoured to be seeking a spot on the ITV reality show later in 2019.

The barmaid has since gone on a spree of liking comments on her Instagram page including one which read: ‘Hope rumours are true and this beautiful lady is on I’m a celebrity this year. You’ve got my support and vote.’

Summer is apparently turning her attention to I’m a Celebrity after becoming a ‘hot ticket for reality shows’ as she begins the process of filing a lawsuit against Paul for ‘defamatory claims’ that she had been selling stories in wake of their split.

‘Obviously I’m A Celebrity would be her top prize. The six-figure sum and the exposure is the biggest you’d get anywhere but she also wants to work on her own ideas,’ a source told Mail On Sunday.

‘She’s a bright girl and she has some thoughts on her own shows – it’s very much a case of watch this space,’ they added.

The Great British Bake Off judge and barmaid Summer had been dating two years when it emerged they split in July.

Summer was accused by Paul ‘courting the paps’ during their two-year relationship, having them appear in their day-to-day lives such as going grocery shopping or on walks.

However, the barmaid has denied his accusations, claiming the Great British Bake Off star tried to pressure her into signing a gagging agreement.

The first look at RuPaul on Drag Race UK has been released and we’ve honestly got chills.

With less than two months to go until the reality TV juggernaut lands on British soil in October, the hype for the new series is building every day.

Drag Race superfans were sent into a frenzy on Monday as they were treated to an image from the show, with the 58-year-old Ru looking every inch the Glamazon against a giant gold light on the runway.

Naturally, the image left fans gagging on Ru’s eleganza, as well as admiring the look of the new set.

‘Okay so our drag race main stage is 10000000000000X sassier than the American one,’ one fan wrote.

Can we get an amen up in here?

Hitting BBC iPlayer in October, Drag Race UK will see ten of the UK’s finest drag queens compete to be named Britain’s next drag superstar, hoping to follow in the footsteps of US winners Violet Chachki, Bianca del Rio and Aquaria and become internationally successful.

Fronted by Mama Ru and with her right hand woman (and future Strictly star) Michelle Visage at the helm, a rotating cast of ultra-famous superfans including Graham Norton, Alan Carr, Twiggy, Andrew Garfield, Maisie Williams and Cheryl will make up the rest of the judging panel.

It doesn’t get more impressive than that

Last week, our Chezza last week revealed to Metro.co.uk that she was seriously star struck meeting the show’s host.

‘It was brilliant,’ she said. ‘I was thoroughly entertained the whole time but I was so starstruck by Ru, I find him utterly fascinating.

‘I had the best time.’

No jealousy at all over here Cheryl… roll on October!

Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon go head-to-head in The Morning Show trailer for Apple TV+

The full-length trailer for Apple TV+’s star-studded The Morning Show has dropped and it looks seriously impressive.

Airing on Apple’s new streaming service, Steve Carrell and Jennifer Aniston star as breakfast TV hosts Alex Levy and Mitch Kressler, who find their 15 year professional and personal partnership is torn apart when Mitch is fired following allegations of inappropriate misconduct.

Rocking the show, the allegations bring into question Alex’s suitability on the show, with execs suggesting that she is traded in for a younger model.

Then in steps Bradley Jackson (played by Reese), a new, rebellious presenter and breath of fresh air who turns Alex’s world upside down.

Exploring themes of ageism and sexism in the entertainment industry, the show promises to get pretty dark, with Billy Crudup’s TV boss heard saying: ‘Watching a beloved woman’s breakdown is timeless entertainment.’

‘What happens when the people you trust to tell the truth prove themselves to be dishonest?’ the video’s description asks.

Steve Carell, Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston The Morning Show
The Morning Show team (Picture: Tony Avelar/AP)

‘The Morning Show follows the free fall of an early morning newscast in the wake of a scandal, and its struggle to survive in an era when news arrives in the palm of your hand.’

Up and coming British actresses Bel Powley and Gugu Mbatha-Raw were also spotted in the show, which is one of the flagship programmes on new streaming service Apple TV+.

And it seems like Apple is banking on The Morning Show being a hit, as they have already commissioned a second series. Now that’s confidence!

As well as performing in the series, Reese and Jennifer worked on the project as co-producers and have sung the show’s praises.

‘The show is seen through the eyes of two ambitious, aspirational female characters,’ Reese said. ‘[It’s a] high-velocity thrill ride in which we pose questions without easy answers and shine a light on the fault lines in our society at this very complicated cultural moment.’

Jennifer added: ‘Through the prism of those under-slept, over-adrenalized people in front of and behind the camera, we take an honest look at the complex relationships between women and men in the workplace.

‘We engage in the conversation people are a little too afraid to have unless they’re behind closed doors.’

Why Chandler Bing was the true hero of Friends as Matthew Perry celebrates 50th birthday

Matthew Perry turns 50: Here's why Chandler Bing is the best Friend
Could there ever be someone more lovable than Chandler Bing? (Picture: Rex; Warner Bros. Television)

Happy 50th birthday Matthew Perry! Chandler Bing himself has hit the big 5-0, and seriously could we BE anymore nostalgic?

Matthew was a fresh-faced 25-year-old when Friends changed the sitcom game forever, and it’s hard to believe a whole quarter of a century has passed since we first got introduced to Chandler and the gang.

The actor’s milestone has given us pause for thought, and we’ve had a revelation – he really was the best Friend. So let’s blow his trumpet and shout to the skies. It’s not to say we don’t love every one of TV’s best group of pals, but there’s something – many things – about Mr. Bing which make him our absolutely favourite.

Firstly, unlike Ross Geller (David Schwimmer) and his trials and tribulations, there are genuine reasons to feel sorry for Chandler. His quips and catchphrases were some of the most beloved parts of the whole show as his insecurities came out in bad jokes and awkward mishaps.

Even during Friends’ most downbeat moments, Chandler was always there to lift the troupe – and the audience – up with a well-timed jibe to bring the mood back.

Then there’s his romance with Monica Geller (Courteney Cox), the closest Friends has to a genuinely sweet and meaningful relationship with hope of actually going the distance. Would Rachel still be with Ross today? We don’t think so.

FRIENDS -- "The One with the Truth About London" Episode 16 -- Aired 2/22/2001 -- Pictured: (l-r) Courteney Cox as Monica Geller, Matthew Perry as Chandler Bing (Photo by NBC/NBCU Photo Bank via Getty Images)
Monica and Chandler’s love story became the foundation of everything pure in Friends (Picture: Warner Bros.)

Friends didn’t always do romance well, but with Monica and Chandler it gave us one of the greatest love stories ever told – even if there’s twisted Reddit theories to suggest otherwise.

Their marriage was an unexpected whirlwind but when it swooped us up, Mandler or Chonica became the foundations of everything pure in Central Perk.

From peeing on Monica’s jellyfish sting to putting on brave face though her corn rose, Chandler showed us what love is all about. He doesn’t always get it right, but the best intention is always there before things go awry.

At least Chandler tried to stop Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) and Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow) looking for the Christmas presents and ruining Monica’s surprises, even if it didn’t quite pan out.

And when he does seem to slip, it’s usually down to some misguided advice rather than going off his own accord. Those loveable quirks always made him so endearing.

Happy 50th birthday Matthew Perry! Thank you for being us Chandler Bing - the best Friends character by far (Picture: Warner Bros. Television)
Chandler had the patience of a saint t live with Joey (Picture: Warner Bros.)

He’s a hard worker – even if we still have no idea what he actually does – but his friends and relationships always come first.

It can’t have been easy living with Joey (Matt LeBlanc), but he did his best and stuck by his pal through thick and thin – just look at Cups. Right at the end of season six when Chandler was moving out to live with Monica, he deliberately lost $1,500 in a fake game designed to help out his pal.

Of course, the plan nosedived when Joey lost everything teaching the totally made up game to Ross, but the intent was there. It’s the thought that counts.

It’s not the only time Chandler shows his love and patience for his best friend and how far he’ll go to make amends for his mistake.

Chandler suffered his own fist-in-mouth blip when he kissed Kathy (Paget Brewster), betraying Joey and having to put in some serious graft to repair their trust. Even if it meant being stuck in a box for six hours.

When Kathy turned up to dump Chandler – while he was still in the aforementioned box – he didn’t break his silence or try to win her back. He stayed quiet because his friendship with Joey meant far more.

As if you need any more evidence in this unashamed Chandler love-in, Friends ended on one of the character’s trademark jokes, and it was one of his best as the gang decided to go for one last coffee together before Chandler and Monica left.

‘Where?’

If you know, you know.

Cheers for all the laughs, Matthew, and here’s to many more.

Friends is available to stream on Netflix, Comedy Central plays it on loop every day and Channel 5 have welcomed it to their weekends.

Looks like we know what became of Eve Polastri after the Killing Eve season 2 finale (Picture: BBC)

*Warning: This article contains spoilers from Killing Eve season 2.

Remember when Game of Thrones tried to convince us Jon Snow was dead and buried despite Kit Harington walking around the Belfast set ready for battle in the hero’s armour?

We’re here again but this time the fate of Killing Eve’s Eve Polastri has been confirmed as Sandra Oh has been spotted on the set of season three.

The sophomore cycle of Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s trail-blazer closed with an infatuated Villanelle pulling the trigger on her prey, Eve, who was presumed dead. Although, plenty of fans were skeptical from the get-go.

It would have been a bold move to kill off Killing Eve’s titular lead, even if she’s undeniably become secondary to Jodie Comer’s inspired assassin, but Sandra has been snapped trying to go undercover in London, hiding beneath an oversized puffer jacket.

Is Eve alive and kicking or could Sandra just not bear to keep away from the Killing Eve set? Either way, we’re quivering at the thought of what’s in store for the next chapter.

EXCLUSIVE: Season 3 of Killing Eve begins filming in South London with the main character Eve, played by Sandra Oh, being particularly shy and acting like a moody 'A' lister. She left set today hiding so much she banged her head on the car door because she couldn't see where she was going! Not so shy was the new mystery character who left just before. Just last week the former Grey’s Anatomy star was caught in what appeared to be a chef’s uniform, puffing away on a cigarette like a member of the Royle Family.

And before that, the Killing Eve cast were seen filming in a London pub as locals broke the show’s top-secret cover with excitement on Twitter.

Creator Sally Woodward Gentle previously spoke to the Hollywood Reporter about Eve’s possible death.

‘Who knows? It is called Killing Eve but also Eve is all women, so what does that mean? Who knows?’ she teased.

Killing Eve seasons one and two are available to stream on BBC iPlayer now.

Peaky Blinders’ fans will be thrilled to hear that the show’s screenwriter is turning the best-selling book SAS: Rogue Heroes into a spine-chilling drama.

The gritty novel – written by Ben Macintyre – will be adapted by acclaimed screenwriter Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders, Taboo, A Christmas Carol) and commissioned by BBC One.

Steven said: ‘This will be a secret history telling the story of exceptional soldiers who decided battles and won wars only to then disappear back into the shadows. We will shine a light on remarkable true events informed by the people who shaped them.’

The story focuses on the world’s most renowned and ruthless Special Forces unit, the SAS, and how they came to exist.

Using Ben’s restricted access of the secret SAS archives, Steven will animate the shocking accounts of the unit’s history.

Controller of BBC Drama Piers Wenger said: ‘It is an honour to be working once again with the great Steve Knight.

‘SAS: Rogue Heroes will lift the lid on the origins of one of Britain’s most iconic institutions and explore the characters, courage and flaws of the men involved with all of the honesty and swagger we have come to expect from Steve.’

The brand new series will be produced by Kudos whose credits includes ITV’s Broadchurch and C4’s Humans.

Showing the creation of a new form of combat and warfare in the deserts of North Africa won’t be easy, but joint Managing Director for Kudos Karen Wilson believes Steven has a ‘unique ability to draw the extraordinary, complex men at its heart’.

She said: ‘Imagine them being drawn with the same colour, character and compassion as the iconic characters which feature across Steven’s work and you get a sense of the huge potential of this project.’

The insane story, according to joint Managing Director for Kudos Martin Haines, ‘will have boundless scope’ in Steven’s hands and will be the return of ‘premium’ drama.

The mini-series was commissioned by Piers Wenger and the Director of BBC Content Charlotte Moore.

However, the cast has not yet been picked but will be announced in due course.

Loretta Devine has been looking back at the timing of her character Adele Webber’s death on Grey’s Anatomy (Picture: Entertainment Weekly)

Grey’s Anatomy has seen a lot of its beloved character’s die at an unexpected time and Loretta Devine shared to her thoughts about why she got killed off when she did.

The actress famously played the Chief Richard Webber’s wife Adele from 2005 till 2013, before her character died of a heart attack after surgery.

Looking back at her character’s dramatic exit six years ago, the 69-year-old actress joked that she’s clocked on to the reason behind Shona Rhimes’ thought process behind the decision.

‘I got an Emmy for this show for best guest spot and then they fired me right after that,’ she told Entertainment Weekly’s Couch Surfing. ‘They killed me with that damn Alzheimer’s.’

And she jokingly suggested that her co-star Debbie Allen role as Dr Catherine Avery was the reason Adele got killed off.

The character – also known as Dr Catherine Fox – and the Chief became lovers on the show and went on to marry after Adele died.

And it turns out this wasn’t the first time Debbie has taken over from Loretta at work.

‘When I was doing Dreamgirls, Debbie Allen came over, took over that, then I was gone,’ she laughed. ‘Then she came over there to Grey’s Anatomy, took over that, then I was gone.

‘I was at The Client List and they said Debbie Allen was coming in to direct – I got scared as hell!’

But despite this, there is nothing but love between the two respected actresses.

‘Debbie’s directed me in a million things. I’ve done her plays,’ Loretta added. ‘I love Debbie Allen, but the truth is the truth!’

Man, this is making us miss Adele Webber all over again.

Andrew Scott is going to star in the second series of His Dark Materials and the internet is freaking out.

The highly anticipated fantasy series hasn’t even hit our screens yet, but series two has already begun filming, with Andrew being announced as the newest cast member via social media.

The Irish actor, who captured the public’s heart as the Hot Priest in the most recent series of Fleabag, is set to play Colonel John Parry, AKA Doctor Stanislaus Grumman or Jopari.

An adventurer and explorer, John lives as a renowned scholar and shaman after accidentally travelling into Lyra’s world and first appears in the second book instalment in the series, The Subtle Knife.

And there was us thinking this show couldn’t get any more exciting…

What is not known is how she will depart the show, but it’s likely to be a dramatic exit as old wounds are opened up.

We’ve just seen Bethany relive horrific memories from her childhood as she runs into someone from her past at the bistro.

She proceeds to confide in Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) about how she was sexually abused by the man who has just walked in with his family.

Daniel confronts the man and the family leave the restaurant, but not before running over Bethany’s best friend, Craig Tinker (Colson Smith).

Whether Craig survives remains to be seen, but while we wait to find out, let’s revisit Bethany’s past.

What happened to Bethany Platt during her sex abuse ordeal in Coronation Street?

When she was a young schoolgirl, Bethany got pulled into Nathan Curtis’ (Christopher William Harper) sex abuse ring.

The controversial storyline, which was built up over a series of months, saw Nathan manipulate her into falling in love with him.

Bethany, who struggled with her self-confidence and was already fragile from having overdosed during that same time, found comfort in Nathan’s attentive behaviour.

Bethany was forced into joining Nathan’s sex ring (Picture: ITV)

At first he was charming, loving and kind, but eventually – once Bethany had cut off all contact with her family and become dependent on him – his evil side emerged.

He forced her to become a teen prostitute and would host parties where she was instructed to sleep with various men.

During one particularly horrific episode, viewers watched as the corrupt policeman Neil Clifton (Ben Cartwright) raped Bethany while Nathan sat in the next room, fully aware of the situation. She was later raped by three other men at the same time.

The nightmare ended after Bethany worked up the courage to report Nathan and his ‘friends’ to the police.

She has since tried to move on, but recent events will undoubtedly upset her and it’s likely there’s more to come before she leaves Weatherfield.

Deep Water ITV filming locations

With the characters living quite literally near deep water, the series is set in the Lake District in the picturesque area surrounding Lake Windermere.

All of the scenes shot near water in the series were filmed on location at Lake Windermere itself, with actress Faye Marsay braving the elements to shoot her scenes there during the winter months.

In the first episode, character Kate hosts a dinner party at her gorgeous rural home overlooking Lake Windermere.

Series’ writer and executive producer Anne Symon revealed to the Radio Times that the real-life property used for Kate’s home in the show is located near Hawkshead Village in the Lake District.

Kit Harington was ‘p****d off’ about Arya Stark’s battle with The Night King

What could/should have been (Picture: HBO)

It’s been over three months since we waved goodbye to Game of Thrones and it seems like the controversial final series is still a point of contention for many fans.

And now, Kit Harington, who played Jon Snow in the series, has admitted that one part of the final series didn’t sit well with him: Arya Stark’s killing of the leader of the White Walkers.

‘I was a bit pissed off, only because I wanted to kill the Night King,’ the 32-year-old actor told The Hollywood Reporter, in a statement that we’re sure many GoT fans would echo.

‘I think I felt like everyone else did, in that it had been set up for a long time, and then I didn’t get to do it,’ he added. ‘I was secretly like, “I wanted to do that!”’

However, the star was keen to clarify that he had no hard feelings about the plot decision.

‘I was so happy for Maisie [Williams] and Arya,’ Kit said.

GAME OF THRONES - SEASON 8. Arya Stark [Maisie Williams]
Arya having fun? (Picture: HBO)
‘It was a really great twist, and it tied up Maisie’s journey in a really beautiful way.

‘Over the seasons, we’ve seen her build up these skills to become this hardened assassin, and she uses it all to kill our main antagonist.’

Ever the diplomat, eh Kit?

While the cast of HBO’s x-rated fantasy juggernaut have sung the praises of the show’s final series, their fans have been less kind.

So much so, that a petition demanding that the eighth instalment be remade with ‘competent writers’ has been signed more than 1.7 million times. Ouch…

However, the cast have criticised this online campaign and the backlash against the final series, suggesting that the fans were not entitled to just demand the show be remade.

‘I think it’s totally fine if you don’t like something. That’s perfectly acceptable,’ Nathalie Emmanuel, who played Missandei, said.

‘What I didn’t like was that people were signing a petition.

‘You can’t ask for receipts on art. You just can’t. The art has been created for you, and you can either choose to like it or not.’

Kaley Cuoco and Lake Bell face off in first look at Harley Quinn animated series

The first trailer for the upcoming Harley Quinn cartoon series has been released and we’re seriously excited.

The Big Bang Theory’s Kaley Cuoco voices the titular DC villain in the adult animation series, taking on her first role since wrapping on the geeky sitcom after twelve years.

The trailer sees clips from the series interspersed with behind-the-scenes commentary from the cast and its revealed a number of things to us.

For one, the show is seriously NSFW. Kaley describes it as being ‘completely out of control’ and she’s got a point.

Think gratuitous violence, sex jokes and more effin’ and jeffin’ than you can possibly imagine.

Do not, we repeat, do not be fooled into sticking this on for children thinking that it’s some innocent kid’s superhero cartoon. You have been warned.

It looks like blondes really do have more fun (Picture: Getty/Youtube)

Secondly, the voice cast is absolutely killer. Seeing A Knight’s Tale’s Alan Tudyk laugh as the Joker gave us full on chills, while Veep’s Tony Hale voices Doctor Psycho, Lake Bell plays Poison Ivy and Breaking Bad’s Giancarlo Esposito plays Lex Luthor. It doesn’t get better than that.

Despite being a classic DC villain, the series will approach things from Harley’s point of view, exploring her complicated relationship with the Joker as she tries to strike out on her own while also showing the more mundane side of superhero life.

Harley Quinn
Doing it for the girls (Picture: Youtube)

Mixing action with comedy, meta-humour with low brow jokes, there’s something for everyone in this series, which will air on the DC Universe’s new streaming platform.

And for Kaley, playing a character that was more than just a love interest was a big deal.

‘She goes through growth but it’s like a few steps forward and 25 steps back,’ the 33-year-old previously explained. ‘She falls back in her old ways again and can’t really help it.’

However, the audience will definitely be on the side of Daddy’s Little Monster.

‘The nice thing is that most of the time she’s going up against villains who are worse than her, so you root for her in that way,’ Kaley said.

‘She is a killer but those who are dying in her hands deserve it.’

Right on, girl.

Vikings’ Katheryn Winnick shares sweet reunion with Clive Standen at wedding as fans await season 6

So much love for these two (Picture: Getty Images)

Vikings season 6 is yet to hit our screens but Katheryn Winnick and Clive Standen aren’t waiting to reunite with each other.

The besties, who play Lagertha and Rollo respectively, attended the wedding of mutual friends Tracey Brennan and Trent Broin at the weekend and gave us the reunion we’ve needed to help us bide time until the hit Amazon Prime series makes it grand return.

Alongside two adorable selfies, Katheryn said: ‘Reunited with my Vikings family,’ to which Clive replied with love heart emojis.

As if that wasn’t touching enough, Clive added in his own post: ‘This one’s always had my back!’

Their co-star Georgia Hirst, who plays Torvi, just couldn’t help but chime in on the lovefest and commented under Katheryn’s post: ‘Damn you’re so hot.’

Jokingly accepting the compliment for himself, Clive quipped back: ‘Thanks… Katheryn looks pretty good too though.’

Seriously, how do we get in with the squad?

https://www.instagram.com/p/B1W-VyEAWmj/

Aside from meeting up with her bestie, Katheryn had a lovely day watching her friends tie the knot and shared photos of the ceremony in her Instagram Stories with the caption: ‘So blessed I got to witness these two powerful souls make it official.’

Fans are eagerly awaiting the season 6 trailer for Vikings with speculation that it’ll arrive this month.

The season is expected to debut this autumn with 20 episodes to keep us busy as the cooler months set in.

Creator and executive producer Michael Hirst told Nerdist earlier this year: ‘The vikings are going ever outwards as raiders and traders.

‘I’m writing season six now and they’re in the Silk Road. They’re trading with the Russians, going to China, they’re all around the Mediterranean. And it’s actually what happened.’

Speculation is rife that King Harald could be killed off after researching what happened to his real-life counterpart, while Lagertha is set to become a grandmother – although it’s possible she’ll also perish this upcoming season thanks to recent set photos of a burning pyre.

Bracing ourselves for the action.

Vikings season 6 premieres on Amazon Prime in autumn 2019.

Why Brassic is our new TV obsession

Brassic
Introducing Sky One’s breakthrough comedy, Brassic, which is set to be your next obsession. You’re welcome. (Picture: Sky One)

If you were waiting for a witty and unpredictable comedy to add to your watchlist this summer, then Brassic is the one.

The six-part Sky original follows lovable rogue Vinnie (Joseph Gilgun) and his five mates – all top boys but total barefaced criminals – who have been hustling in working-class Hawley since their teens.

From an incompetent heist in a pet shop to an accidental kidnapping and a police car chase on country lanes, it becomes pretty obvious that Vinnie and the gang – Dylan, Cardi, Ash, Tommo and JJ – are not exactly criminal masterminds.

And as they approach 30, the cold hard reality is that their hilarious hair-brained schemes are fast catching up with them.

The series stars Our Girl’s Michelle Keegan and Ripper Street’s Damien Molony – as well as an unexpected cameo from Dominic West – so it already has our attention.

And if you needed more reasons to stream, here’s why this vibrant, bold and groundbreaking new Sky original is bound to be your next binge-watch…

Brassic
Starring Michelle Keegan and Damien Molony as boyfriend and girlfriend Dylan and Erin, this comedy benefits from an impressive cast of actors (Picture: Sky One)
Brassic
Brassic is 2019’s answer to Shameless and This Is England with tons of swagger but also has plenty of heart (Picture: Sky One)

It’s the Shameless vs. This Is England crossover we never knew we needed

Co-created by and starring Joseph Gilgun, who memorably played Woody in gritty British drama This Is England, Brassic was a passion-project between the Misfits actor and the Bafta-winning screenwriter behind Shameless, Danny Brocklehurst.

In Brassic, they combine dark comedy with true grit and plenty of northern swagger. Unlike anti-hero Frank Gallagher, it’s easy to fall for likely lad Vinnie, as he worries about going bald and losing his best mate Dylan (Damien Molony) to a life beyond their home town. And thanks to a tough upbringing, Vinnie’s fist-fighting, car-stealing, champion kebab-eating mates are more like family than friends.

Brassic

Brassic
These lads aren’t exactly criminal masterminds and their hairbrained schemes are starting to catch up with them (Picture: Sky One)

This is comedy gold – with a heart of gold

Featuring a heist with live geese, a hunt for a Shetland Pony and scenes filmed inside an actual sex dungeon in Manchester, you can expect to laugh out loud at binge-worthy Brassic.

Much of this side-splittingly funny, heart-warming – and sometimes outright outrageous – show centres on the harsh reality of approaching your 30s when your friendship group is still stuck in its teens; a bitter pill to swallow for some of us, but you’ll definitely see the funny side.

Brassic

Brassic
There are some side-splittingly funny scenes involving all sorts of scamming, conning and robbing along the way (Picture: Sky One)

… But it’s got a serious side

While Brassic is a comedy at its core, the edgy Sky original also takes a deep dive into mental health. Creator Joseph bravely decided to reflect on his bipolar disorder in on-screen alter-ego Vinnie, which gives the show some important layers.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk last month, Brassic star Damien – who plays Vinnie’s best mate Dylan – revealed: ‘A lot of the show is navigating Vinnie’s journey with bipolar disorder and how his best mates deal with that and help him.

‘Before we started filming, I didn’t have a defined understanding of bipolar disorder, but being around Joseph and just talking about it made it easier for everyone else to be honest about their own mental health.’

Actor Joseph has also said: ‘Bipolar is a big part of my life. We want to show that you can have mental health issues and in some cases live a productive, exciting life, full of adventure.’

It’s Michelle Keegan, back at her feisty best

Giving us all of the attitude of Tina McIntyre, former Coronation Street star Michelle Keegan has put her gold hoop earrings back in and scraped her ponytails up high to revive her feisty side in Brassic.

A long way from Our Girl medic Georgie Lane, Michelle’s character Erin is a reformed wild child and single mum whose big dreams of leaving Hawley keep getting stunted by her boyfriend Dylan and his no-hoper best mate, Vinnie.

She’s had it just about up to here with their wayward criminal antics, so she’s got exactly the kind of take-no-prisoners energy it could take to sort out this boys’ club, once and for all.

Brassic is available to stream in full from Thursday 22 August on Sky One

Great British Bake Off line-up
It’s that time of year again (Picture: Channel 4)

Great British Bake Off season is upon us again, with a new group of amateur bakers nervously waiting to take to the tent in hope of being named Star Baker.

Prue Leith, Paul Hollywood, Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig are all returning for another round of the Channel 4 show, which is set to kick off on Tuesday 27 August at 8pm.

Who will follow in the footsteps of Rahul and emerge victorious in 2019? Here are the contestants hoping to do just that:

Dan

STRICT EMBARGO OF 00:01 HRS TUESDAY 20 AUGUST 2019 Dan.
Dan’s entry into baking had a romantic start (Picture: Channel 4)

Age: 32

Job: Support worker

Dan got into baking in the classic way – trying to impress the girl he fancied. 11 years later, his then girlfriend is now his wife and he’s still baking. He made his own wedding cake and loves decoration, as well as his three dogs.

What is your favourite memory from your first week on the show?

The first time I saw the white peaks of the tent it gave me butterflies, but also you feel so excited at the same time.

You are asked to make a cake that signifies one of the happiest days of your life. What would it be?

We got married in a lovely old church not too far from where we live. So I would have the main cake as a sponge but it would have champagne in it, and strawberries and cream in layers. I would do fondant icing and then detail the timbers and the door, with colour and spray.

Phil

STRICT EMBARGO OF 00:01 HRS TUESDAY 20 AUGUST 2019 Phil.
Phil bakes four or five times a week (Picture: Channel 4)

Age: 56

Job: HGV Driver

Coming to baking through home economics classes at school, Phil now now bakes four or five times a week, frequently making focaccia, granary bread and brioche, as well as pastry. Driving since he was 17, he lives in Rainham, with his wife and two daughters, and is a big motorbike enthusiast.

What is your favourite memory from your first week on the show?

My memory of the first week is being minibussed into the site and seeing the tent, those wonderful white peaks and thinking that this is happening, it’s not just a dream. I have yearned for this for years, it’s amazing.

Which previous baker would you most want to be stuck in a lift with?

Jon from the last series – we could chat motorbikes till we get freed by the firemen.

Alice

STRICT EMBARGO OF 00:01 HRS TUESDAY 20 AUGUST 2019 Alice.
Alice prides herself on her pavlova (Picture: Channel 4)

Age: 28

Job: Geography teacher

Essex native Alice was always a keen sports player growing up, but tried her hand at baking while recovering from a back operation for scoliosis aged 15. This jet setter learned to make the perfect pavlova while living in New Zealand and now loves creating intricate and delicate decorations that have that real ‘wow’ factor!

You are asked to make a cake that signifies one of the happiest days of your life. What would it be?

‘I think I would make a cake that resembled a mobile phone, as that was a happy moment when I got the call that I was going to be in Bake Off.’

What does it feel like to have made it into the tent?

‘I have wanted to be in Bake Off ever since the show has started, but I wasn’t really good enough when I was 18. To be accepted into the tent gave me the confidence to feel that I could bake. It was a dream come true!’

Michael

STRICT EMBARGO OF 00:01 HRS TUESDAY 20 AUGUST 2019 Michael.
Baking is in Michael’s family (Picture: Channel 4)

Age: 26

Job: Theatre Manager/Fitness Instructor

He may have been born in Newcastle, but 26-year-old Michael is a Scot at heart, having lived in the south east of the country since he was a wee lad of seven. Learning to bake from the handwritten recipes passed down through his family, Michael’s specialties are cakes and pastry, while he likes to take flavour inspo from his Indian heritage.

Who will be the most surprised to find out that you’ve made it to Bake Off?

‘My grandma is very chatty usually but she will be totally speechless. She’ll have to have a sit down in a quiet room and have a cup of tea.’

Which previous baker would you most want to be stuck in a lift with?

‘It would have to be Selasi. I would be freaking out and think the world was over but he would be relaxed and just chilled and then I would be too!’

Helena

STRICT EMBARGO OF 00:01 HRS TUESDAY 20 AUGUST 2019 Helena.
Helena’s bakes are likely to be infused with various cultures (Picture: Channel 4)

Age: 40

Job: Online Project Manager

40-year-old Helena likes to bring cultures together in her baking. Whether it’s Spanish flavours like almond and paprika to signify her childhood in Spanish speaking Ceuta and Lanzarote, or the American tastes of pumpkin, maple and pecans picked up on a school exchange with a Las Vegas Mormon family, the Leeds-based mother-of-one promises to mix things up in the tent.

Which previous baker would you most want to be stuck in a lift with?

‘Kim-Joy from the last series, as I liked her particular style and I think like me she has a niche look. Her bakes are Japanese and cutesy whereas I am witchy and gothic with a Halloween twist.’

You are asked to make a cake that signifies one of the happiest days of your life. What would it be?

‘I would do a three-tier cake representing all the bakers, with multi-coloured icing to represent everyone.  We are all so different yet we share such a passion.’

Rosie

STRICT EMBARGO OF 00:01 HRS TUESDAY 20 AUGUST 2019 Rosie.
We trust Rosie can handle Paul’s snarky comments (Picture: Channel 4)

Age: 28

Job: Veterinary Surgeon

A former Cambridge student turned veterinary surgeon, Rosie certainly has the brains needed to quip back a good response for Paul’s snarky comments. Based in the Somerset countryside surrounded by animals, her rural surroundings are her inspiration, whether it be freshly laid eggs or fruit from local orchards.

What is your favourite memory from your first week on the show?

‘When we first got here I went to the bathroom and I could see the little top bits of the tent from the window. That made me very happy.’

Who will be the most surprised to find out that you’ve made it to Bake Off?

‘The nurses at work are going to be so surprised. I’d applied before and they asked me the other day if I would apply again and I could honestly, “No, I don’t think I will!”’

Henry

STRICT EMBARGO OF 00:01 HRS TUESDAY 20 AUGUST 2019 Henry.
Henry’s culinary skills have made him a hit with his housemates (Picture: Channel 4)

Age: 20

Job: Student

He may only be 20, but Durham University student Henry is very popular among his housemates thanks to his expert culinary skills. Starting baking after the Bake Off tent pitched up in his local park when he was just 12, the show has been his end goal and eight years later, he’s gone full circle and made it.

What does it feel like to have made it into the Tent?

‘I have wanted to get into the tent since series 2. They used to film the show at the end of my road, and I’d see Paul Hollywood when I walked to school in the mornings, so to be inside the actual tent was totally wonderful.’

You are asked to make a cake that signifies one of the happiest days of your life. What would it be?

‘One of the most lovely days I had was at Uni this year, we had an end of year party where everyone was totally relaxed. It would be quite a busy chaotic cake flavoured with alcohol to represent the party, maybe with a kahlua coffee drizzle and vodka buttercream icing.’

Priya

STRICT EMBARGO OF 00:01 HRS TUESDAY 20 AUGUST 2019 Priya.
Priya uses baking to relax (Picture: Channel 4)

Age: 34

Job: Marketing Consultant

A freelance marketing consultant and self-confessed baking perfectionist, Priya lives in Leicester with her husband and two children, and is writing her first novel. Baking allows her to relax, where she loves tropical, fruity flavours and has recently started experimenting with vegan baking.

You are asked to make a cake that signifies one of the happiest days of your life. What would it be?

‘Every night we read a story together with my two boys, so I’d make a picture book decorated with dragons, dinosaurs, fairies and magic. Lots of fondant icing, as that is what my kids love, and a chocolate sponge, as they love that too.’

Which previous baker would you most want to be stuck in a lift with?

‘Nadiya – I am so inspired and in awe of her, she is so accomplished. She’s just a girl next door, someone you could easily have a good conversation with.’

David

STRICT EMBARGO OF 00:01 HRS TUESDAY 20 AUGUST 2019 David.
If David’s baking is as snazzy as his wardrobe then we’re sold (Picture: Channel 4)

Age: 36

Job: International Health Adviser

Brought up in a baking-only Yorkshire household, 36-year-old David’s work as a health advisor takes him all over the world, learning to build an oven out of an oil drum and make a cake that could steam cook over a village fire in Malawi. A self-proclaimed bread specialist, he might have been the only person to do well on last year’s stone-baked naan bread challenge!

What is your favourite memory from your first week on the show?

‘You feel like royalty walking into the tent, you have a runner looking after you, bringing you drinks. It’s very different to ordinary life, and a fantastic experience.’

You are asked to make a cake that signifies one of the happiest days of your life. What would it be?

‘It would have to be the first date I went on with my partner. We met for a cup of coffee, so I would make a coffee cake as I love that, shaped like a large cappuccino, and make sugar cubes on the side out of marzipan.’

Amelia

STRICT EMBARGO OF 00:01 HRS TUESDAY 20 AUGUST 2019 Amelia.
Amelia’s love of baking comes from her grandmother (Picture: Channel 4)

Age: 24

Job: Fashion designer

Sportswear designer Amelia has been baking for 19 years after watching her mum and grandma creating beautiful cake decorations inspired her to start baking as a child. Her best bake? A snow leopard cake with intricately designed tiger and snow-leopard faces that she made for her nephew’s fifth birthday.

Who will be the most surprised to find out that you’ve made it to Bake Off?

‘I am really excited to tell my six-year-old godson that I am on Bake Off and that will be the best thing ever. He means the world to me and I am bursting to tell him.’

What is your favourite memory from your first week on the show?

‘It was all so much fun, meeting all the bakers, meeting the judges and presenters, there wasn’t one moment from that first week that I didn’t enjoy. It was magical.’

Michelle

STRICT EMBARGO OF 00:01 HRS TUESDAY 20 AUGUST 2019 Michelle.
Michelle bakes almost daily (Picture: Channel 4)

Age: 35

Job: Print Shop Administrator

Born on a farm and now growing up in the seaside town of Tenby with her hsuband and teenage son, Michelle prides herself on baking almost every other day. Whether she’s making a simple loaf to have for breakfast or something sweet to eat for dessert, she likes to use freshly grown seasonal and local produce the best.

What does it feel like to have made it into the tent?

‘I was so emotional when I found out, I cry when I am happy and cry when I am sad. I have wanted it for so long, so I couldn’t believe it.’

You are asked to make a cake that signifies one of the happiest days of your life. What would it be?

‘We christened our son on the same day we got married, so rather than a wedding cake we had a cheese stack made of six tiers of Welsh cheese. So I would probably remake that as a cake, with chocolate cake and carrot cake baked to look like stilton and camembert.’

Jamie

STRICT EMBARGO OF 00:01 HRS TUESDAY 20 AUGUST 2019 Jamie.
Jamie admits he was ‘nervous’ to get started on GBBO (Picture: Channel 4)

Age: 20

Job: Part-time waiter

An identical twin, Jamie was taught to bake by his grandparents before an episode of Bake Off inspired him to try out a plaited loaf. Currently working as a waiter before he goes off to study Sports Science at uni, this Surrey lad has a fairly traditional approach to his flavours – although he does like to experiment with what he can find around the house.

What is your favourite memory from your first week on the show?

‘I was quite nervous at the beginning but by the second day the bakers had all gelled and we were all pretty much best mates. It was great.’

Who will be the most surprised to find out that you’ve made it to Bake Off?

‘None of mates even know that I bake, so they will be shocked just to see me in an apron!’

Steph

STRICT EMBARGO OF 00:01 HRS TUESDAY 20 AUGUST 2019 Steph.
Steph says she’s ‘still learning’ the baking game (Picture: Channel 4)

Age: 28

Job: Shop Assistant

Primarily self-taught, 28-year-old Steph considers herself an ‘intermediate, still-learning’ baker. Inspire by her passion for sport and wellness, she enjoys making her bakes healthier, adding vegetables or fruits, lowering the refined sugar content and creating better versions of her fave supermarket biscuits.

Which previous Baker would you most want to be stuck in a lift with?

‘Ruby Tandoh, because she was great when she was on the show, I think she is a really interesting character and I would love to meet her.’

What does it feel like to have made it into the Tent?

‘It’s a bit like a lottery, I didn’t think that I would get in but just wanted to give it a go. It’s just beyond anything that I can imagine, because I didn’t really dream that I would get in, it has been the most incredible surreal experience.’

You’d think the final scene with Kit Harington and Emilia Clarke on Game Of Thrones would be bish bash bosh done, right?

Well, no, actually – that final harrowing moment in which Jon Snow kills Daenerys Targaryen took a mammoth three weeks to film.

And it’s only a page and a half of copy, we should add.

Kit, who plays Jon in the HBO epic, opened up on the final shoot alongside Emilia, who plays the Khaleesi, admitting the whole thing was terribly exhausting.

The ending to the fantasy drama after eight seasons concluded with Jon killing his lover/aunt Dany after she sort of went mad with power and destroyed King’s Landing with her dragon.

He is adamant the ending was exactly what the show was about, but boy was it draining.

‘We felt a sense of responsibility over it. We shot the hell out of it. It was essentially a page and a half of dialogue, and we spent three weeks filming it. They wanted to shoot every conceivable angle, every way, to make sure they got it the way they wanted it,’ he told the Hollywood Reporter this week.

‘When you’re shooting the same scene for two weeks and it’s a page and a half, it becomes a long exercise in concentration. You have to remember the energy you’re bringing in, every day, and making sure it’s consistent.

‘With a highly emotionally charged scene like that, it’s quite a lot, for everyone – the crew, me, and Emilia. It was tiring. It’s one of the hardest things we filmed.’

While the script might have been building up to that moment, as Jon and Dany became increasingly separated in their views of how to deal with Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) and the people of King’s Landing, the moment he realised he’d stab her still came as a shock to Kit.

‘I was completely surprised by it even though you can kind of see the path through the season of how it was getting there – and even the previous couple of seasons before that, once you can look back,’ he continued. ‘But it was still a big shock to me.’

Speaking about the crux of the show, be believed it all came down to being a tale about a bunch of dysfunctional families.

You know, throw in some magical beasts, dragons and Direwolves and what not, and a whole heap of bloodshed.

He said: ‘It was said a long time ago, and I agree with it, that Thrones really is about dysfunctional families. It’s about mothers, brothers and sisters, but it’s also about how far your blood will stretch in your decision-making.

‘That’s the ultimate choice Jon is left with. He’s faced with someone he loves as his lover – who he is related to – but his loyalty is with the people and the part of the world where his roots are, the people who raised him.

‘It’s that horrible conflict in a relationship: “Do I stay or do I go?” We’ve all been through it at some point … except this one involves a knife.’

Yep.

The Great British Bake Off presenters Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding have heaped praise on ‘lovely’ Paul Hollywood.

The pair have described what Paul, 53, is like behind the scenes of the baking show, where he is known for his no-nonsense criticism and steely gaze.

According to Sandi, the TV chef if the biggest fluffball you’ll ever meet.

‘He’s a giggler’ she told Radio Times. ‘People don’t know that about him.’

Noel weighed in saying: ‘He’s a lovely man. If you were in trouble you could pick up the phone to him and he would be there in five minutes flat.’

Their kind words will be music to Paul’s ears at the moment, whose very public split from girlfriend Summer Monteys-Fullam, 24, will be at the forefront of everyone’s minds when Bake Off returns this month.

The former couple first met back in 2017, when Paul planned a birthday party for his now ex-wife, Alex, at the pub Summer worked in.

Paul and Summer split in August after it was revealed she refused to sign a non-disclosure agreement which prevented her from talking about their relationship.

His former flame is now rumoured to be seeking a spot on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! later in the year.

Summer has been liking Instagram comments calling for her to enter the jungle, including one which read: ‘Hope rumours are true and this beautiful lady is on I’m a celebrity this year. You’ve got my support and vote.’

Meanwhile Paul will return to our screens for Bake Off, putting more amateur bakers through their paces with challenges that even he finds tricky.

‘It’s been interesting to come up with some unusual things this year – the challenges I think have been scaled back a little bit,’ Paul said.

‘I thought sometimes we’ve been running away with some of the challenges being too difficult.’

The Great British Bake Off returns 27 August at 8pm on Channel 4.
