Simon Cowell is genuinely making a movie with his Britain’s Got Talent pal David Walliams, all about singing monkeys.

Although we can’t help but feel it’s already been done – sorry Si.

Remember the animated movie Sing, starring the likes of Reese Witherspoon, Scarlett Johansson and Taron Egerton (who voiced a singing gorilla), well it kind of sounds like that.

While chatting to Terri Seymour on Lorraine, the 59-year-old revealed his grand plans and explained a rough outline of his project.

‘I think you might have asked me over the years, what is my number one thing I’d love to do in my career and I always said I wanted to make an animated movie,’ the music mogul confessed.

It will star singing monkeys (Picture: Rex)

‘So a few years ago, we had an approach to make a movie about real life monkeys, who end up appearing on one of our shows because they can sing.’

Sound familiar?

The father-of-one added: ‘And they become the biggest group in the world.’

He smiled: ‘Then this year we decided we’d just have to do it. I think David Walliams is going to write it. Yeah.’

Joking about his talent show buddy, the star laughed: ‘I hate to say this but David is the most successful children’s author, in fact author, in the UK at the moment.

Simon Cowell and son Eric
He’s also writing a book with his son Eric (Picture: FilmMagic)

‘When I told him about the idea he was really excited. So, I think he’s the right person to do it with.’

This isn’t the only thing the record label manager has up his sleeve, as he also went on to talk about his son Eric, and how the five-year-old is already writing his first book.

Probably taking inspiration from Walliams.

The proud dad said: ‘I am writing a book with Eric. I literally am as we talk. We did this once, we had some time together and I said, you know what I think we should write this book together and he’s looking at me like, what? And then he started to get involved.

‘We had such a fun time writing it. In the end I said you know what, we just do it.’ As for the storyline, Simon said: ‘I can’t tell you yet.’

Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV at 8.30am.

Graham Norton was really uncomfortable when Mark Wahlberg pinched his nipples: ‘Get off me’

Graham Norton has had his fair share of awkward interviews on his chat show over the years, sharing his sofa with some of the biggest names in Hollywood – including Tom Hanks, Harry Styles and Chris Hemsworth.

And he revealed one moment with Mark Wahlberg left him more uncomfortable than most.

During the Shooter actor’s stint on The Graham Norton Show, back in 2013, he climbed on top of the host at one point, and started pinching his nipples.

Yes, seriously.

Discussing the infamous scene, the 56-year-old explained: ‘If they [guests] are disruptive then that is a bore and annoying. Like Mark Wahlberg, I think Mark got a bit confused about the jet lag and wine.

‘He fell asleep — that was the good bit. When he fell asleep, that was like we were able to tell stories. The show’s going a bit better now, I wonder why? Oh, he’s asleep.

‘And at one stage, he climbed on my lap and was like pinching my nipples, and I remember afterwards thinking, “wow, my 20-year-old self, my head would have exploded if someone would tell me he would do that”, but my 50-year-old self was just like, “Get off me.”’

Which is absolutely fair enough.

The awkward moment came as Sarah Silverman was discussing the moment she wet herself at a sleepover when she was a child.

Mark then climbed onto Graham’s lap and curled up with the uncomfortable presenter, leaving viewers at home – and fellow guest Michael Fassbender – absolutely baffled.

And, if that wasn’t weird enough, he then started stroking the BBC star’s nipple, and went in to kiss his head.

The shocked presenter simply told him to sit back on the sofa and ‘listen to the nice lady speak’.

However, Mark later insisted the whole thing was actually a prank he planned with Sarah.

In a chat with Digital Spy, he confessed: ‘Sarah Silverman and I talked about doing something funny.

‘I was trying to do a “bit” and some people took it too seriously.’

Maybe next time don’t sit on someone’s lap and stroke their chest…

Strictly Come Dancing’s Motsi Mabuse makes her debut on the panel tomorrow night after millions predicted Darcey Bussell’s seat would go to Anton Du Beke.

The 53-year-old Bruce Forsyth doppelganger has been tipped to become a Strictly Come Dancing judge for years so, naturally, when a space became available Anton was the frontrunner with both bookies and fans.

Reports emerged he was ‘devastated’ when Motsi’s name was announced over his, but the sister of Ori Mabuse has insisted the Strictly pro has only ever been a ‘gentleman’.

‘It’s been fine because I honestly, like I say, they know what they are doing, they made their choices,’ she told Lorraine during today’s edition of the host’s show.

‘I’ve known Anton for quite a while. I met him and he’s such a gentleman. I don’t think it’s anything personal at all, everyone gets to shine in their different ways.’

The 38-year-old is already a veteran in the judges’ chair in Germany’s Strictly, Dancing With The Stars. However, Motsi assures she’s still got the nerves heading into tomorrow’s live show.

‘I’m excited, it’s really different nerves,’ she explained. ‘This time I can feel it within myself that I have different nerves that are being awakened and it’s good – this is a different challenge and I’m learning something more about myself.’

Tomorrow night all the celebrities will perform their first solo dance with David James bringing Three Lions to the ballroom while RuPaul’s Drag Race heroine Michelle Visage will be dancing to Whitney Houston’s So Emotional and we’re already giving her a standing ovation.

Roll on Saturday!

Strictly Come Dancing returns tomorrow night at 7pm on BBC One.

Ashley Walters admits he ‘lived a double life’ before Top Boy fame

Top Boy’s Ashley Walter has confessed that he lived a double life while growing up in south London.

In a clip from the streaming giant’s new series Made In The UK, the 37-year-old actor, who plays Dushane in the recently revived Netflix drama, explained that as a youngster he’d hang around estates in Peckham but attend stage school at the weekends.

Speaking to his son Paniro in the video shared exclusively with Metro.co.uk, Ashley recalled: ‘When I got into my early teens and started hanging out on the ends, I was spending my weekends doing stage school. I was in Sylvia Young doing tap, ballet and stuff like that.

‘I lead a double life.’

Sylvia Young Theatre School is an independent school in the Marble Arch area of London and offers specialist performing arts education.

‘It’s where I developed my hunger, passion for what I do now,’ Ashley continued. ‘Going to theatre school at a really young age, compared to my peers and the people I was growing up with, they never got those experiences.

‘I had that added push.’

‘I knew Ashley was going to be a success from very early on,’ added mum Pamela Case.

Top Boy came bounding back into our lives earlier this month after six long years off-screen.

And there’s good news too as writer Ronan Bennett confirmed to Metro.uk that he’s already preparing another series.

‘We want to do a new season and we’re talking to Netflix about it,’ Ronan revealed. ‘We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve all achieved with the new season.

‘Sometimes you write something for screen and it just doesn’t come out as well as you’d hoped even though all the individual parts are good, but somehow when they’re all together they just don’t gel. This is different.’

Talking about the latest chapter, Ronan continued: ‘I think the new season is brilliant, I really do. We don’t want to sit on our laurels.

Top Boy is available to stream on Netflix.

Tom Welling is reprising his role as Clark Kent, but not in Smallville – and we have so many questions.

The 42-year-old – who played Superman in the superhero prequel – will be returning to the role in upcoming Arrowverse crossover, Crisis On Infinite Earths.

And we’ll be finding out exactly what the journalist turned superhero has been up to in the eight years since his show ended.

Details of the crossover have yet to be announced, but those involved are ‘thrilled’ to have Tom on board.

‘For eight years, Arrow has stood on the shoulders of Smallville,’ producer Marc Guggenheim said in a statement to EW.

‘Simply put, there would be no Arrow, and no Arrowverse, without it. So when we first started talking about Crisis On Infinite Earths, our first, second and third priorities were getting Tom
to reprise his iconic role as Clark Kent.

‘To say that we’re thrilled would be a Superman-sized understatement.’

We’ll have a slight wait to see Tom donning his cape once more, as Crisis On Infinite Earths will be kicking off on 8 December.

And, to make matters slightly more complicated, he won’t be the only Clark Kent on the show – with Brandon Routh confirmed he would also be returning, 12 years after playing Superman.

Tyler Hoechlin, who is currently playing Superman in the Arrowverse, will still be around, with the trio playing different versions of Supes in the ultimate crossover.

Anyone else want to throw their name into the mix? Henry Cavill? Scarlett Johansson?

Crisis On Infinite Earths will be based on the comic books of the same name, from the 1980s, and will bring together all of the current on-screen Arrowverse shows and heroes.

This includes the new Batwoman series fronted by Ruby Rose, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and, of course, Arrow.

Count. Us. In.

Crisis On Infinite Earths begins in the US on 8 December, and in the UK at an unconfirmed date.

The Walking Dead season 10: Rick and Carl Grimes will play a big part ahead of Michonne exit

Rick and Carl Grimes will play a big part in The Walking Dead season 10 (Picture: AMC)

The Walking Dead season 10 will not forget our fallen heroes Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs).

Despite the father and son duo being killed off in previous seasons, a new character description for Rick’s daughter Judith has revealed the pair will still play a large role in the upcoming episodes.

AMC teased what’s to come for the young warrior, who is played by the 12-year-old Cailey Fleming.

‘A kid warrior beyond her years, Judith is every bit Michonne’s daughter from the way she handles her sword to the way she handles people,’ the network revealed on their website.

‘She is also her brothers’ keeper, approaching the future with Carl’s wisdom and RJ by her side.

The Walking Dead
Judith will keep their memory alive  (Picture: AMC)

The excerpt continued: ‘Rick, too, is a part of her daily life as she shares her version of stories she’s heard to keep his memory alive.

‘Her history is never forgotten. She embodies the past, present, and future. Will she have to grow up too soon or will she be able to remain a kid for a little while longer?’

When Rick was seemingly killed trying to save his people from a herd of zombies, Judith was quickly adopted by her dad’s new girlfriend, Michonne (Danai Gurira).

However, it seems she is going to have to make her own way through life, as it was recently revealed Danai would be leaving the show.

The Walking Dead
Michonne will leave but not before making her mark on Ezekiel (Picture: AMC)

Not before making her mark on King Ezekiel that is.

In the recent trailer shared for the new season, the duo are seen locking lips, and we still don’t know how we feel about it.

And it appears they’re not the only ones getting to grips with new romantic feelings, as a teaser showed all the tension between Eugene (Josh McDermitt) and Siddiq (Avi Nash) over Rosita’s (Christian Serratos) new baby.

During a script read through the much loved characters can be seen arguing over how long to warm up some milk for the newest arrival.

‘Furthermore I have taken the liberty of charting her feeding habits and diaper changes,’ Josh McDermitt laughs in true Eugene style before adding: ‘Congratulations, they’re very regular.’

The Walking Dead returns to AMC on October 7 and will follow a day later on FOX UK.

Loose Women has been bumped to make way for different programming on ITV (Picture: Ken McKay/ITV/REX)

Loose Women host Andrea McLean had bad news for the show’s fans at the end of yesterday’s episode when she announced that they wouldn’t be back on TV until later next week.

ITV has temporarily cancelled the show, sparking viewers to take to Twitter to find out if this is going to happen again over the next month with one fan tweeting: ‘Will this be a regular occurrence?’

So why has ITV cancelled Loose Women today and when will the panel show be back?

Why isn’t Loose Women on today and when is it back?

Loose Women has been cancelled because it is the first day of the Rugby World Cup in Tokyo and ITV are choosing to air the opening ceremony and the first match of the tournament between Japan and Russia instead of their usual programming.

Due to the time difference between Japan and the UK, the coverage for the first game begins at 11.30am this morning, so the match with air right over when Loose Women is normally on.

The show won’t be back on Monday September 23 either as Wales take on Georgia at 10.25am GMT and will be shown on ITV, but the Loose Women ladies will return to our screens as normal again by Tuesday September 24.

Fans of This Morning will also be disappointed as Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield’s show has been cancelled today and on Monday September 23 too and won’t be back on TV again until next Tuesday.

Loose Women continues on Tuesday September 24, at 12.30am, on ITV.

Good Morning Britain hosts shocked over Ann Widdecombe ‘p***y’ joke, and same

Good Morning Britain hosts Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard were left shocked after their guests made an Ann Widdecombe ‘p***y’ joke.

When chatting to Iain Dale, live on air, the political commentator revealed different ways he’d stepped out of his comfort zone.

And one of them was performing stand-up comedy.

Explaining his awkward time on stage, the 57-year-old laughed: ‘It was one of those times in my life when I thought, “Why have I agreed to do this?”‘

We bet!

He continued: ‘But I just told a series of Ann Widdecombe jokes and if I put Ann Widdecome and p***y in the same sentence you get a laugh!’

Jacqui Smith, the former Labour Home Secretary, was sat next to Iain and couldn’t contain her laughter, while Ben and Kate cringed in their chairs.

She went onto sarcastically tease her fellow guest that the GMB team were ‘rolling in the aisles’ at his joke.

This isn’t the only awkward TV moment Ben has found himself wrapped up in, as he recently suggested Ashley James’ face doesn’t move.

Seriously, when discussing Simon Cowell’s comment about over doing it in his ‘Botox years,’ the model chimed in with her thoughts.

Why winning America’s Got Talent won’t make Kodi Lee a millionaire

Kodi was named AGT champion (Picture: Rodin Eckenroth/FilmMagic)

Blind singer Kodi Lee has been named the winner of America’s Got Talent season 14, going home with fame, glory and a jaw dropping prize of $1 million (£800,390) prize and a headline show in Las Vegas.

Ever since his mind blowing first audition, where Gabrielle Union made him her Golden Buzzer act, the autistic 22-year-old has continued to wow the crowds and judges alike with his phenomenal vocal and piano skills.

Winners of the regular America’s Got Talent series are given these life-changing prizes, which makes the $25,000 given to the winners of AGT: The Champions seem a little disappointed. So can we expect to see Kodi and his family living a life of total luxury? Well, not exactly.

Look into the small print and the truth behind Simon Cowell’s million-dollar pledge becomes a little more difficult. A disclaimer runs at the end of every episode reading: ‘The prize, which totals $1,000,000, is payable in a financial annuity over forty years, or the contestant may choose to receive the present cash value of such annuity.’

Sound like a lot of long words? Here’s what it means.

In 2011, Forbes reported that anyone who wins the talent competition will be paid $25,000 (just over £20,000) a year over 40 years. As many AGT winners are children, this amount would see them through into middle age, making it the better option for most young champions.

Sorry, this video isn't available any more.

Obviously this amount gets taxed, but even without that, nobody is becoming an instant millionaire off the back of America’s Got Talent.

Alternatively, winners can choose to take an upfront cash prize of around $300,000 (£240,117), which may make sense for an older winner, but will naturally be in a higher income tax bracket.

So you may not become a millionaire overnight, but at least there’s the chance to have your own Vegas residency and make a name for yourself in the entertainment capital of the world. Right?

Not quite. Kodi will perform a three-night stint at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel and Casino in November, which will be an amazing experience, but really isn’t enough time to take the city by storm.

But hey, you can’t put a price on talent like Kodi’s.

Big Bang Theory season 12 gets Netflix UK release date and we’re seriously ready to binge

The Big Bang Theory
Big Bang Theory season 12 is finally dropping on Netflix UK (Picture: CBS)

Big Bang Theory season 12 is finally coming to Netflix UK, so we can all calm down now.

Just in case you haven’t quite got your fix of Sheldon Cooper and co. on E4, or wanted a little refresher on how it all ended, the last series will be available to stream in the UK next month.

It has been confirmed the latest instalment will be dropping on 1 October, so we only have 10 more days to hold on.

And then you can watch Shamy’s journey to a Nobel Prize on repeat until the end of time.

Season 12 ended with everyone’s favourite scientist couple (sorry Bernadette and Howard) picking up the biggest prize in the world, thanks to their work with super-asymmetry.

Leonard and Penny had their own happy news, with a baby on the way, while the Wolowitz clan got used to having two little ones in the house.

The Big Bang Theory cast
Could we be getting a Big Bang Theory spin-off soon? (Picture: CBS)

And Raj…. basically stayed the same.

But could we be blessed with a potential spin-off soon?

Director Mark Cendrowski hinted there could be something on the way – but not just yet.

He said: ‘At the end of The Big Bang Theory’s run, once we decided to end the show, Chuck Lorre, the creator, was like, “Look not everyone’s involved in this, it’s not a Big Bang episode.”

‘That’s not to say that there may not be something down the line, but I don’t think anyone wanted to jump into the next season and spin someone off immediately.

‘I think the idea of letting things percolate a little, and you don’t want to cash in.’

Speaking to Forbes, he continued: ‘That doesn’t mean that won’t happen and, in a couple of years, maybe it’s a character or a couple of characters that catch up within a couple of years. Who knows if it will happen. I wouldn’t be a betting man on that, and I don’t know one way or the other.

‘I think with these characters you’re going to want to know what happens to them in a few years.

‘If in five years Chuck Lorre decided to bring back some characters and try something again, I would love to be involved. It would be just a continuation.

‘There’s plenty to explore with their lives and characters moving forward. That said, it would have to be its own show with its own reason for being.’

Bring. It. On.

Claire Foy regenerates into Olivia Colman in first look scene from The Crown season 3

$

Olivia Colman is set to take over as the Queen in season three of The Crown – and judging by the teaser trailer, she isn’t taking the proverbial from anyone.

We’ve finally got a good look at the Oscar winner taking over as Elizabeth from Claire Foy in a painfully short but sweet trailer from Netflix.

In the clip, Queen Elizabeth II gets a new profile (well, the other one was Claire Foy’s face) and doesn’t seem too happy about being reminded of her age.

A voice says: ‘Everyone is delighted with the new profile, ma’am, which they feel to be an elegant reflection of Her Majesty’s transition from young woman to…’

The Queen responds: ‘Old bat?’, before the voice continues: ‘Settled sovereign. Just the tiniest changes.’

Claire Foy’s Queen is seen in the old picture, as Her Majesty replies: ‘A great many changes. Nothing one can do about it. One just has to get on with it.’

Olivia Colman
Olivia Colman is taking over from Claire Foy (Picture: Netflix)

Why does that sounds so ominous?

The third series of the Netflix hit runs from 1964 until 1977, with Netflix explaining: ‘The third season of The Crown sees a new guard sweep into Downing Street, as Queen Elizabeth (Olivia Colman) and her family struggle to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing Britain.

‘From cold-war paranoia, through to the jet-set and the space age – the exuberance of the 1960s and the long hangover of the 1970s – Elizabeth and the Royals must adapt to a new, more liberated, but also more turbulent world.’

Tobias Menzes will take over Matt Smith’s role of Prince Phillip, while Helena Bonham Carter is the new Princess Margaret, replacing Vanessa Kirby.

Josh O’Connor will play Prince Charles, Erin Doherty is Princess Anne, Ben Daniels plays Tony Armstrong-Jones, Marion Bailey takes the role of Queen Mother, and Jason Watkins is Prime Minister Harold Wilson.

While we still have a while to wait until series three, we’re already excited for series four, after Gillian Anderson was confirmed to be playing Margaret Thatcher.

Big Bang Theory fans spot Raj Koothrappali plot hole and we have serious questions

Raj Koothrappali on Big Bang Theory

Big Bang Theory may have ended with season 12, but that doesn’t mean we’ve stopped noticing gaffes and plot holes from the show.

And one eagle-eyed fan has noticed another, focusing on Raj Koothrappali’s family.

It’s no surprise to regular viewers that the Koothrappali family are rich.

Or, to use Sheldon’s term, Richie Rich rich.

However, in a thread on Reddit, a fan questioned why Priya said they ‘shared a room growing up’ if they had enough money to buy the home next door as a ‘play house’.

The user in question, JaniceDaisy, wrote: ‘Caught an error…Raj always says how they had servants and they were wealthy growing up…

‘Yet Priya said when they grew up they shared a room as children. They were so wealthy but shared a room?’

In the instalment in question – series four, episode 22 – Raj was annoyed he was being forced out of his home so Priya and Leonard could have a double date with Howard and Bernadette.

When the lawyer suggested he ‘stopped feeling sorry for himself’ over the situation and his single-dom, and basically stop being the Raj we’ve all come to know and love, he was having none of it.

‘I have to feel sorry for myself, I’m the only one who cares,’ he hit back.

Priya revealed she slept in the same room as Raj growing up (Picture: Netflix)

‘Just like I’m the only one who’ll have sex with me.’

A shocked Leonard asked: ‘Really? In front of your sister?’

‘We shared a room growing up. This is not news to me,’ Priya replied.

Which begs the question, if you’ve got a huge house filled with servants, why are you sharing a room?

And surely this meant there were many, many other rooms for Raj to ‘have sex with himself’ in – his words not ours – instead of where his siblings slept.

Sheldon Cooper on Big Bang Theory
The Big Bang Theory finale plot hole finally cleared up (Picture: Backgrid)

This isn’t the only Big Bang plot hole fans have picked up on, with a Young Sheldon producer forced to step in and clear one up for us.

At the end of the final episode, Sheldon gave a speech to celebrate his Nobel Prize win, but many were confused over why he left out Dr Sturgis – who true fans will know played a huge part in his life growing up.

But Steve Molaro discussed the snub, explaining he mentioned Mee-Maw’s boyfriend in his own, roundabout way.

‘Sheldon’s speech was intended to honour the history of Big Bang,’ he said. ‘It didn’t seem like the right time to invoke specific characters from Young Sheldon.

‘He mentions “all the men in his life,” which would include Dr Sturgis.’

It’s not quite the same thing, but we’ll have to make do…

The Big Bang Theory is available to stream now on Netflix.

Cole Sprouse has gone and given us all the ultimate throwback on the 25th anniversary of Friends.

The 27-year-old, who played Ross Geller’s son Ben in the much loved sit-com, celebrated the big day by hanging out with his old pal Hugsy.

And we have all the feels.

Taking to Instagram, the official account for the show shared an endearing snap of the actor perched on the iconic Friends sofa next to the penguin toy.

In the caption they wrote: ‘The One Where Ben Grew Up. @colesprouse #FRIENDS25,’ and let’s just say, fans were so not ready.

‘[In Squeaky Voice] I’m FiNe *cries*,’ one wrote while another added: ‘Literally crying rn we’ve come so far.’

Someone else commented: ‘Stopppp it, my heart,’ as others championed the famous teddy.

After making several appearances in the series, the character seemingly disappeared alongside his two mothers Carol and Susan.

Talking about why he thinks the trio were written out of the script, Cole – who now stars as Jughead in CBS’ Riverdale – told fans: ‘Critics would agree that Ross was never really the most present father, and so it doesn’t surprise me too much.’

Friends bosses have shut down any reboot (Picture: Getty Images)

The actor was cast as Ben at the age of eight, and while he would normally star alongside his twin brother Dylan, the youngster took up the opportunity on his own.

He added during an undercover Reddit Q&A: ‘Honestly, our appearance as the same character was sort of dependent on how much screen time we had.

‘In Friends, for example, my role was not too present. They only really needed to hire one twin, because both of us were incredibly expensive.’

While the cast and crew alike celebrate the show, it seems they’re not up for a reboot as bosses claimed it wouldn’t beat the original.

‘We will not be doing a reunion show, we will not be doing a reboot,’ Marta Kauffman said at Tribeca TV Festival: ‘The show was about that time in life when friends are your family.’

Friends is available to stream on Netflix, plays on repeat throughout most of the day on Comedy Central and has just launched on Channel 5.

Our Singletown contestants are getting ready for the finale, and it looks like it’s going to get emotional.

In a teaser clip, shared exclusively with Metro.co.uk, the couples can be seen saying their farewells before heading out to the last ever Love Locket ceremony.

While raising a glass, Kyra started her teary speech by reflecting on their time together.

She said: ‘We should cheers to love, and although some of us have had a roller coaster journey in here, we’re literally walking out either loving ourselves or our partners more.’

There wasn’t a dry eye in the house following her words, as Rob points out: ‘You’re crying’.

He then went onto hug newbie Meg, who thanked her fellow contestants for being a shoulder to cry on.

Wiping her eyes, the reality star said: ‘I just want to thank you all for picking me up when I needed picking up, it means so much.

‘You’re not just one friend but you are my family, and I love you all to bits.’

While the couples started to get hysterical, Rob laughed: ‘Don’t make me cry.’

Adding his part to their group pep talk, he continued: ‘You’re all walking out of here with your head held high, and you’re walking out of here better people, do you know what I’m saying?’

And they sure did, as his pals shouted: ‘Cheers to that,’ over the top of clinking champagne glasses.

The couples are preparing to face the difficult decision as to whether or not they stick with their exes or carry on with their single life.

But while things worked out for past contestants Natasha and Luke, who recently announced they’re expecting their first baby together, we don’t know if it will be the same for the others.

The Singletown final airs tonight at 9pm on ITV2.

Sting may be one of the few major celebrities of the 1990s not to appear on Friends – but it turns out, that’s just because he didn’t show up to set one day.

Trudie Styler made an appearance in season eight, where Phoebe discovers that Ross’ son Ben is in the same class as Sting’s son and so tries to use Ben to get herself concert tickets.

Trudie, Sting’s wife, uncovers Phoebe’s plan though and kicks her out, but set designer Greg Grande has now told Metro.co.uk that Trudie’s cameo only happened because Sting bailed.

‘We had Trudy Styler because Sting was supposed to show up,’ he revealed.

One of the most iconic sitcoms of all time turns 25 in September 2019 and its stars Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow all thanked fans for their continued support ahead of the milestone anniversary.

The foursome, who played Joey Tribbiani, siblings Monica and Ross Geller, and Phoebe Buffay, shared the same sweet throwback picture on their Instagram feeds to mark the occasion.

Yep, Jennifer Aniston and Matthew Perry really need to hurry up and jump on the photo-sharing app bandwagon.

‘Celebrating a Thursday night 25 years ago. Seems like yesterday. Thanks to all the fans for watching,’ Matt wrote alongside his picture.

Echoing pretty much the exact same sentiment, David captioned his: ‘Celebrating a Thursday night 25 years ago… THANK YOU to all the fans out there!! We couldn’t have done it without you.’

Meanwhile, Courteney poked fun at the iconic I’ll Be There theme tune and posted: ‘You’ve certainly been there for us!’

Metro.co.uk has contacted reps for Sting for comment.

The Strictly Come Dancing professionals were all smiles as they headed out to a day of gruelling rehearsals.

This week will see the contestants take part in their first ever live shows, and their ballroom buddies couldn’t have looked more optimistic.

After grabbing a coffee to go, the much loved dancers waved at the camera while their hands were full of bags and baggage.

Katya Jones, who has been paired up with Mike Bushell, was yet to change into her workout gear as she sported knee high boots and a black beret.

Beaming at the camera the star appeared in high spirits as she joined the likes of Giovanni Pernice and Oti Mabuse.

Chris will join his fellow celebs in making their live debut on Saturday night, with newcomer Kelvin Fletcher.

The former Emmerdale actor was given one hour to decide whether he wanted to replace Jamie Laing, when the reality star was forced to quit due to an injury.

‘I didn’t anticipate this at all,’ Kelvin told Radio Times of his sudden casting.

‘I suddenly received a call from my agent offering me the chance to do Strictly and I had to make the decision within an hour or two.’

He added: ‘I was doing a different job towards the end of the year so I had to change my plans, but it was a no-brainer.

‘I’d met the Strictly producers previously so they’d already had a taste of me and what I was about but I was straight in at the deep end.’

Strictly Come Dancing’s first live show kicks off Saturday 21 September on BBC One.

Gogglebox fans left cracking up after Mary says she used to ‘w**k’ out songs in hilarious slip up

She might look like the cutest little old lady ever, but Mary from Gogglebox left fans in stitches after saying she used to ‘w**k out’ songs when she was younger.

It’s a saying we can’t say we’ve ever heard before in the context of singing but Mary said it with such conviction we’re now actually second-guessing everything we thought we knew.

The clip started off wholesome enough, with Mary entertaining her best mate Marina – both widowers living in a retirement home – with a little sing-song to Frank Sinatra’s Fly Me To The Moon, as Marina told her she should apply to go on Britain’s Got Talent.

Mary then hit back with: ‘Oh I couldn’t be bothered. I should have done that when I was about 10 years old. I used to w**k ‘em out then.’

All Marina could say to that was: ‘Pardon?!’, echoing the thoughts of everyone else watching at home.

Mary responded, laughing: ‘No, I never used to w**k ‘em out then, I meant sing them out, you know.’

Marina then knowingly replied: ‘I know what you meant, Mary…’

Fans couldn’t cope with hearing her say ‘w**k’, taking to Twitter to share their amusement with other viewers.

One wrote: ‘go on Mary girl – w**k em out!’ and ‘Did she just say ‘w**k em out’ who knew Mary was a dirty sort’.

Another added: ‘Please stop Mary “wanking them out”’, ‘Mary!!! It’s always the sweet old ladies you have to watch out for’, and ‘Oh sweet Jesus…….MARY!!!!’

However, those who could get past her use of the W-word were more impressed with her singing skills, writing: ‘Love when mary sings’, ‘Mary has got some vocals on her’ and ‘Oh god Mary and her singing. It’s just like Vera Lynn moved to a retirement village in Bristol’.

Great pipes, but we’ll never look at Mary the same way again…

Kelvin Fletcher may have stepped in for Jamie Laing on Strictly Come Dancing but the Emmerdale star meant he was forced to pull out of panto this Christmas.

The soap star was scheduled to play the titular role St Helens Theatre Royal performance of Aladdin from 7 December until 12 January but the theatre has now confirmed another Strictly star will take his place.

‘We are delighted to announce that Strictly Come Dancing’s Robin Windsor will be waltzing on to our stage in the title role of Aladdin this Christmas,’ shared the theatre on FaceBook.

‘The dance professional replaces the previously announced former Emmerdale actor Kelvin Fletcher, who has joined this year’s Strictly line-up as a late addition after Jamie Laing had to withdraw due to injury.

‘Catch Robin and all our wonderful cast when Aladdin flies in to Theatre Royal from Sat 7 Dec – Sun 12 Jan.’

Strictly newcomer Motsi Mabuse slams Louie Spence over ‘box-ticking’ accusations

Strictly Come Dancing judge Motsi Mabuse has slammed choreographer Louie Spencer for claiming she was hired because of the colour of her skin.

Reminding everyone that there is already a woman of colour on the show – her sister Oti – Motsi admitted that it was ‘funny’ to be attacked by someone whom she had never met.

Louie, best known for appearing in the reality show Pineapple Dance Studios in 2010, called the former dance champion a ‘nobody’ and suggested that current dancer Anton Du Beke would have been better for the job.

Now, Motsi, who will join Craig Revel Horwood, Bruno Tonioli and Shirley Ballas on the judging panel, has said: ‘It would be really sad if someone chose me for my colour only.

‘I think a person of colour in any situation should be qualified to do the job. Not just because of the colour of their skin.’

Motsi Mabuse

Speaking to The Sun, she added: ‘You’re always going to have someone attacking you in some way. But it’s weird from someone who’s never met you, I thought it was funny.’

As for who Motsi has her eye on to pick up the Gliiter Ball trophy this year, she thinks it may finally be Anton’s turn.

‘I saw a clip of [Emma Barton] on Instagram and she was turning close to Anton,’ she said.

‘And she had the same kind of precision, I thought “ohhhh yes, this is happening”.’

https://www.instagram.com/p/B2dobZllaxX/

Reports emerged that Anton was left ‘devastated’ when Motsi’s name was announced over his for the seat on the panel with the 53-year-old Bruce Forsyth doppelganger having been tipped to become a Strictly judge for years.

But 38-year-old Motsi previously revealed that the pair are pals and both know it’s never ‘personal at all, everyone gets to shine in their different ways’.
