Love Island’s Jess Gale and Luke Mabbott celebrate being coupled up together by sharing a kiss in scenes due to air tonight.

Friday’s recoupling saw the 20-year-old twin chose to be matched up with Luke, and this evening’s episode sees the pair sit down and talk about their future.

‘I think we’ve got a good thing going,’ Luke tells her.

And surprise, surprise, they snog it out.

It’s not all sunshine and rainbows tonight though as Siânnise Fudge and Rebecca Gormley clash over new boy Luke Trotman.

Tensions boil over and Siânnise confronts Rebecca over her decision at the recoupling by taking her to one side for a chat.

A storm is brewing elsewhere in the villa (Picture: ITV)

Siânnise confesses she was ‘shocked’ by Rebecca choosing Luke T and suggested she’d broken the ‘girl code’.

But Rebecca doesn’t back down and reminds her that she’s here to find love for herself.

‘If that was me, I would have made my intentions clear and then no one would have got upset,’ Siânnise explains.

‘I’m a very girls’ girl, so that was a bit of a shock to me. [It’s happened] twice now.

‘Connagh, obviously I was trying to get to know him. I felt you two had a better connection, so I left that alone and let you get on with it. And now obviously Luke T’s come in and I felt like I had a connection with him and it’s happened again… I would have preferred it if you’d been a bit upfront.’

Rebecca tells her: ‘I know you’re saying girl code, I didn’t go out of my way to hurt anyone. You weren’t coupled up with him and I took him off you, you just had a date with him.

‘I know you want to find someone Siânnise. But we all want to find someone. I’ve got to do what I’ve got to do.’

Yikes.

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.

Sunday Brunch presenter Simon Rimmer has revealed he’ll soon be undergoing surgery to remove a cyst on his vocal cords.

The 56-year-old host, who fronts the Channel 4 programme with Tim Lovejoy, explained to viewers that he hoped his increasingly croaky voice will hopefully be fixed when he goes under the knife in February.

‘I’ve now discovered I’ve got a little cyst on my vocal cords which is why I sound like this,’ Simon divulged on today’s episode. ‘So I’m having an operation on February 3, all being well.’

Guest Helen Monks, replied: ‘Oh no, I really like it! Can you not keep it in?’

Simon joked: ‘My premium line number is doing well Helen, I must say.’

Simon’s surgery news came as Sunday Brunch viewers voiced their concerns about his voice on Twitter.

Sunday Brunch viewers were concerned by Simon Rimmer’s voice

Is your voice ever going to get better Simon?’ asked one worried fan.

Echoing a similar sentiment, another posted: ‘Poor Simon’s throat always sounds like it’s killing him. I hope the lads ok. One of my favourite guys on the telly.’

Elsewhere on today’s Sunday Brunch, Simon continued to tease that he’s the Hedgehog on The Masked Singer.

‘Obviously I’m still in, Hedgehog is still in, so I’m still in The Masked Singer, I’ve not been unveiled yet,’ the former Strictly Come Dancing contestant said.

The first week of The Masked Singer saw the Hedgehog walk around a stately home where he revealed that he likes being in an ensemble and can’t wait to ‘have a ball’.

On the mantlepiece sat a mask, which looked like the one worn by the Phantom of the Opera, while he also revealed connections to Hairspray.

The mysterious star revealed he had a job which means he died every night at 8.30pm, and also joked that he was much more introverted than people might think.

So far guesses have included Eddie Izzard, Michael Ball and Alfie Boe. Could Simon really be under that mask though?

Sunday Brunch airs Sundays from 9.30am on Channel 4.

Strictly Come Dancing bosses ‘eyeing up Brooklyn Beckham and royal family’ for 2020 series

Strictly Come Dancing bosses have started the hunt for their 2020 series and Brooklyn Beckham and Lady Amelia Windsor are reportedly high up on their list of potential contestants.

It feels like only yesterday that the nation watched Kelvin Fletcher and Oti Mabuse waltz off with the glitterball trophy, but Strictly execs are already thinking ahead to the new series and have reportedly drawn up a list of 30 potential contestants.

Top of the list is the oldest of the Beckham kids, with BBC bosses reportedly keen to sign 20-year-old photographer Brooklyn up for the upcoming series.

‘Brooklyn is the main target for casting chiefs at the moment, because he will appeal to his parents’ fans as well as his own,’ a source told The Sun.

‘He has a young, cool image and they think that will win over new fans. Plus, they would love to get David and Victoria sitting in the front row.’

Now that we’d like to see…

Following on from the Meghan Markle mania that’s sweeping the nation (and after the success of Viscountess Emma Weymouth during last year’s show), TV executives are also reportedly hoping to get in on the Royal fever and snap up Lady Amelia Windsor.

At just 24-years-old, the model and socialite is no ordinary Royal and is far more likely to be seen on the ‘frow’ during Fashion Week than at Buckingham Palace.

‘This year, the Royals have dominated the headlines,’ the source explained, ‘so it’s no surprise that they have now decided to target a member of the Royal family.

‘Lady Amelia is both stunning and very young, so she should appeal to a young market too.’

Strictly Come Dancing declined to comment on this story when approached by Metro.co.uk.

It comes after reports emerged that Strictly bosses were hoping to have a RuPaul’s Drag Race UK contestant compete on the next series, having been pipped to the post for the first same-sex competitive partnership by Dancing on Ice.

A source told The Sunday Times that the show’s execs hoped a female-presenting drag queen would be the perfect way to get Strictly’s loyal audiences on board with a same-sex couple.

Does that mean we might see The Vivienne, Divina de Campo or Baga Chipz reprise the Strictly challenge from the final? We can only dream.

Strictly Come Dancing is set to return to BBC One later this year.

RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Sasha Velour praises rival shows for trans inclusion amid season 12 line-up backlash

RuPaul’s Drag Race star Sasha Velour has praised the show’s rivals for offering a platform for more inclusive drag – as she prepares to launch her own.

The season nine winner has spoken out about the need to have more representation of the LGBTQ+ community on the show’s run, but admits that it’s highly unlikely that it will happen any time soon.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk before the announcement of the season 12 queens – which in itself sparked previous contestants demanding better representation for trans queens, Sasha spoke to us about the future of drag in the mainstream and how the show has its place in defining that.

Sasha told us: ‘The thing people love about Drag Race, is that the UK one was virtually identical to the US one was like.

‘It’s almost like a stock-type – you could write a parody of Drag Race and I love that. That’s what people love about it.

‘But I think the question of whether drag itself needs to contain, and have space for a drag kings, and queens, and AFAB and drag performers, the question’s already answered. It’s absolutely, yes,’ they declared.

Sasha Velour Smoke and MIrrors
Sasha is bringing her theatre show to the UK (Picture: Tanner Abel)

‘It’s already part of the best live drag shows, already playing a role, and has always been playing a role, in drag communities.’

So what about Drag Race? Arguably the most mainstream platform up-and-coming performers can find themselves on? Will there ever be room there for more inclusive contestants?

‘Will Drag Race make room? I don’t see it,’ they admitted. ‘But can there be other platforms that showcase a more full and truthful view of drag? Absolutely.

‘I think there has to be and I see those starting to happen. It’s like the Boulet Brothers had the first Drag King winner – spoiler – on their season of Dragula, and then I’m coming out with a show called Nightgowns this Spring, that showcases all the different types of performers, with a focus on performance.’

Drag Race US queens confirmed
Season 12’s queens were announced this week (Picture: VH1)

On top of launching their own show, which will come to streaming service Quibi later this year, Sasha is also touring the UK with their Smoke and Mirrors tour – and promises lots of mysticality and ‘explosions into rose petals, like she’s want to do.’

Over on Drag Race, Detox has told the show to ‘stop feigning inclusivity’ as the new cast was revealed.

While many contestants have since come out as transgender following their time on the show (with season two star Sonique even coming out to the world as transgender during the season’s reunion special), there have been less than a handful openly trans during their time on the show.

Out of the 140 queens to grace the work room, Sasha’s season nine co-star Peppermint became the first star to openly compete as transgender three seasons ago.

Gia Gunn, who competed in season 4, also returned to All Stars 4 in 2019, this time competing as a woman, marking the first contestant in the show’s entire run to do so.

Sasha’s Smoke and Mirrors tour heads to the UK this March.

Paddy McGuinness unfazed by Jeremy Clarkson Top Gear rant: ‘I wouldn’t be here without him’

Paddy McGuinness: We wouldn’t be here without Jeremy Clarkson (Picture; BBC/Amazon Prime Video)

Paddy McGuinness has praised Jeremy Clarkson for steering Top Gear into the juggernaut it is today, because, ultimately, without the now host of The Grand Tour there would be no Top Gear.

Not that Paddy would be out of a job; he’s been matchmaking on Take Me Out for an entire decade and if Peter Kay’s recent comments are anything to go by the Phoenix Nights revival is imminent.

After the car crash that was Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc’s 2016 series of Top Gear, it seemed implausible what was once the BBC’s biggest global export (making an estimated £50million a year across 240 territories) would ever get back on track.

Jeremy still refuses to watch Top Gear (Picture: Corbis News)

Then Paddy and Freddie Flintoff joined petrol head Chris Harris and the impossible was possible.

Jeremy recently revealed he would never watch Top Gear again. ‘They took my baby away,’ he moaned to Metro.co.uk. His co-hosts Richard Hammond and James May, who jumped ship to join him at Amazon Prime Video for The Grand Tour, have, however, been much kinder.

While Jeremy is still blaming everyone but himself for punching a producer over a steak to boycott The BBC, Paddy won’t be retaliating.

Despite the photographic evidence, Paddy’s helped steer Top Gear back on track (Picture: BBC)

‘Speaking for myself, personally, I get asked a lot about how I feel about those three but if it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t be here because they worked their socks off to get Top Gear to where it is now,’ he told us.

‘I’ll never have a bad word about them really. I met Richard Hammond just after it got announced we got the show and he was really lovely; I’ve never met James and I’ve never met Jeremy.’

Richard specifically commended his successors for their ‘chemistry’, which was immediately a huge hit. A rarity in television.

Paddy’s co-host Chris stressed: ‘People often look at the past through the rose tinted glass but if you go back to Top Gear 2000/2002 the chemistry wasn’t there, it took time to grow.

Top Gear
Paddy, Freddie Flintoff and Chris Harris got the chemistry just right (Picture: BBC)

‘When we took a battering about there being no chemistry, they knew better than anyone that takes time. You can’t just throw three strangers in a room and expect them to the great buddies.’

Although, according to Top Gear producer Clare Pizey that’s exactly what happened with its current line-up.

‘Within three minutes I knew we had it: because they were laughing. It was so funny. Straight away I knew this is what we’d been missing,’ she recalled.

One thing’s for sure, Top Gear is braver, bolder and bigger than ever before, evident in tonight’s series opener when Freddie is left dangling 500 feet in the air in a Rover for a hellish car bungee. Really.

Top Gear returns tonight at 8pm on BBC Two.

Star Trek: Picard’s Isa Briones’ didn’t know Dahj’s massive plot twist until last minute

***Warning: Major Star Trek: Picard Spoilers Ahead***

Star Trek: Picard threw us straight into the action from the first episode on by setting us up with Dahj (Isa Briones) and her mission to find the retired former Starfleet captain, Jean-Luc Picard.

But no sooner had she found him, and he revealed to the young woman her heritage as his best friend Data’s daughter, things went from bad to worse when she was caught by those chasing her, and brutally killed.

Like, fully exploded into pieces so there’s no way she’s coming back, dead.

It was a major plot twist that no one saw coming – not even actress Isa Briones herself, who has revealed that she was even sold and auditioned for Dahj, not knowing she would actually then become Soji, Dahj’s twins who could be in mortal danger.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk, she said: ‘I didn’t find out that I was going to be playing multiple characters until my final callback, because someone let it slip.

‘They’re like “Yeah, so the story is gonna be about you and like your twin” and I was like, what?’

‘I want double the pay, two meals a day and two trailers!,’ she laughed. ‘One for me and for my big personality.’

While that’s definitely a bit of a thrill for her as viewer of the show, as an actress she suddenly had to think fast on her feet to get into the headset of someone entirely new.

Isa will now continue on in the story as the wise Soji (Picture: PA)

Isa explained: ‘I kind of last minute had to figure out that dynamic and sorry, this is how the two of them are different how they’re the same, but as you can see, you’re not really going to see them together.

‘So that makes it a little difficult to be like, “Oh, this is how I would play this part in this, she would play this part”. It’s really just like, time to start a new character.’

So what’s it been like keeping this major secret from everyone?

‘It’s been driving me crazy! Because no one knows who actually that is that they’re watching in that trailer,’ she laughed.

‘But I’m so excited I finally get to talk about it.’

Star Trek: Picard continues Friday on Amazon Prime Video in the UK.

The Masked Singer fans miss massive clue as Hedgehog accidentally gives away identity

The Hedgehog from The Masked Singer
Is Jason Mansford The Masked Singer’s Hedgehog?

The identities of The Masked Singer’s cooky contestants have been under tight wraps for weeks, but has the Hedgehog finally slipped up and revealed who he really is?

Fans of the show seemed to have missed this key clue.

On Saturday night’s show, the spiky character seemed to accidentally reveal who he really is after belting out the Oasis hit, Don’t Look Back In Anger.

For those that have been following the weird and wonderful world of The Masked Singer since the beginning, many have been speculating that Hedgehog is indeed comedian Jason Manford.

And it seems that by singing a song that is synonymous with a die hard City supporter, it only just adds fuel to the already blazing rumour fire.

It’s no secret that the Salford born TV personality is a massive fan of his hometown team Manchester City. He even holds a season ticket and regularly tweets about the football squad lead under Pep Guardiola.

Some contestants have already met their fate and have been demasked such as Butterfly who turned out to be Patsy Palmer, Pharoah who ended up being politician Alan Johnson and even the most recent reveal, Daisy who was exposed as Kelis.

However viewers have yet another week, at least, to wait until our suspicions are confirmed about the Hedgehog for certain, after our prickly friend made it through to the next round of the competition.

But what does Jason have to say about all the speculation surrounding him and his potential masked alter ego?

Jason Manford on First And Last
Jason’s new show First & Last has even been moved because of the show…suspiscious much (Picture: Zeppotron part of Endemol Shine UK/Brian J Ritchie)

Well according to his last interview on Good Morning Britain with Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway, the star flat-out denied it was him – sort of.

The funny man was even questioned about his new show ‘First & Last’ being rescheduled to make way for the masked singer.

Kate Garraway asked: ‘Have you moved the time because you’re defeating yourself?’

To which he replied: ‘I don’t want to spoil the show by saying no but – no. My own kids asked me as well! ‘

Maybe they are on to something Jason. We’re not letting this go just yet.

Why did Caprice Bourret and Hamish Gaman change partners on Dancing on Ice?

Caprice Bourret is back on the Dancing on Ice rink this weekend, following her break from last week’s show.

No official reason was given for her absence last week other than that she and Hamish had parted ways.

Since then it’s become clear they will not reunite after Caprice announced she will return to the rink with ‘amazing’ new partner, Oscar Peter.

Hamish has not left Dancing on Ice, although he will not return to skate with Caprice

So, what happened between Caprice and Hamish, and who is Caprice’s new partner, Oscar?

Why are Caprice Bourret and Hamish Gaman not partnered on Dancing on Ice anymore?

Caprice and Hamish reportedly split because their relationship had become ‘unworkable.’

Caprice and Hamish from Dancing on Ice
Caprice and Hamish started out the series as partners (Picture: ITV Picture Desk)

A source told The Sun: ‘Caprice’s relationship with Hamish was harmonious at the start but as time went on they became more strained.

‘She felt he was pushing her too hard in training and Caprice started to struggle.’

A source close to the star has denied these claims to MailOnline, saying ‘The “pushing her too hard” comment is untrue. She’s actually always wanted more hours on the ice and no days off.’

Later in the week a backstage source told The Sun she complained about his ‘gaslighting’ behavior but ITV has strongly refuted the claims.

The reason for the sudden change in partners has not been confirmed and neither Hamish or Caprice have addressed it publicly.

Who is Caprice’s new partner Oscar Peter?

Caprice accidentally revealed the details of her new Dancing on Ice partner on Wednesday, before ITV had the chance.

Responding to a tweet that asked her who her new partner was, she said ‘Oscar Peter he is amazing.’

Oscar promptly confirmed the news via a video on the official Dancing on Ice Twitter account.

He said: ‘I’m officially joining the Dancing on Ice family this weekend as Caprice’s partner.

‘I cannot wait for you to see our first performance on the ice.’

Oscar is a former competitive figure skate who is a six-time Swiss national medalist.

As a single skater, he won silver from 1998-2000 and bronze from 2001 to 2003.

According to his Twitter bio, he is also a coach and choreographer.

Love Island’s Connagh Howard isn’t ruling out future romance with Rebecca Gormley, despite being dumped from the villa after she recoupled with newcomer Luke Trotman.

The 27-year-old model was the victim of a shock elimination during Friday night’s show, after 21-year-old Rebecca paired up with new boy Luke T just days after sharing a cheeky snog with Connagh.

But while Siannise Fudge was left fuming at the results of the recoupling, ‘Connagh with a G’ (as he’s been affectionately named) admitted that he was still open to rekindling things with Rebecca.

‘If I’m still single and if she does have a change of heart in the future and wanted to try again, I wouldn’t completely close it off,’ he told ITV.

However, with the model and care-worker keeping her cards close to her chest throughout the show, Connagh revealed that he’d ‘had doubts’ about Rebecca prior to the dumping.

‘I wasn’t confident [going in the re-coupling] because Rebecca’s quite hard to read,’ he admitted to ITV. ‘She doesn’t give too much away.

‘Even before the two new lads came in I was trying to see where her head was at, who she was interested in and she didn’t say too much…’

He also confessed: ‘I had doubts in my mind.’

With Luke T replacing Connagh as the object of Rebecca’s affection, the tension with Siannise will go up another level in tonight’s episode.

Facing off against each other, Bristol born Siannise accuses her love rival of ‘breaking girl code’, leading to some seriously awkward fighting between the pair.

Love Island Siannise and Rebecca talk

‘If that was me, I would have made my intentions clear and then no one would have got upset,’ Siannise explains.

‘I’m a very girls’ girl, so that was a bit of a shock to me. [It’s happened] twice now.

Rebecca tells her: ‘I know you’re saying girl code, I didn’t go out of my way to hurt anyone. You weren’t coupled up with him and I took him off you, you just had a date with him.

Siannise doesn’t want to carry on the chat and suggests she will avoid Rebecca for the rest of their stay in the villa, telling her: ‘I’m going to nip this in the bud now…. You enjoy your time.’

Awkward…

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.

Caprice Bourret has returned to skate on Dancing On Ice with her new partner Oscar Peter.

The model, 48, was absent from last week’s show, with Holly Willoughby mysteriously telling the studio audience and viewers at home that Caprice had ‘parted ways’ with skating professional Hamish Garman.

No reason was given, at the time, and Caprice returned to the ice just days later to continue training, with her new partner Oscar being revealed on Thursday.

They made their debut on Sunday night for the first time and Caprice looked pretty chuffed to be back, alongside Oscar, as they introduced themselves on the ice during the live show’s opening.

A brief clip ahead of the show beginning saw Caprice addressing Oscar in training and telling him that they have ‘a lot of work to do’ ahead of their first performance.

The show’s host Holly Willoughby stunned viewers last week when she told them: ‘Unfortunately, Caprice and Hamish have parted ways and will not be skating this week.

‘As you saw in our opening number, Hamish remains one of the members of our professional team and we hope to have Caprice back on the ice next week.’

Since then fans have been coming up with their own conclusions as to why the actress and the ice skating pro have split, although it has been claimed that their partnership became ‘unworkable’.

‘In the end, it became completely unworkable for them to carry on and after speaking with the bosses they called it quits. It was getting toxic so stopping the partnership was best for everyone.’

Hamish performed with the professionals for the show’s opening number last week, while ITV assured fans that Caprice would still be competing in Dancing On Ice – just with a new skating pro.

Dancing On Ice continues Sunday at 6pm on ITV.

Work has started on the sixth season of Peaky Blinders (Picture: BBC/Anthony Byrne/Instagram)

The time has (almost) upon us. A writer for the Peaky (f***kin’) Blinders has confirmed that work on season six of the Birmingham gangster show is finally under way.

Anthony Byrne, who is credited as a writer for all six episodes of Peaky Blinders’ fifth season, has posted a picture of the production script for the sixth season’s first episode on Instagram.

Alongside it, a tantalising caption reads: ‘We are in pre-production on Season 6. More to come. By Order of…’ – and we know the rest.

The episode is currently named ‘Black Day’, according to the script. A blurred date can also be seen at the bottom, which fans have taken guesses at deciphering, as well as what the date actually pertains to.

Most seem to think that it indicates that the episode will air in January 2021, and this makes sense considering what tidbits other members of the Peaky Blinders family have teased.

https://www.instagram.com/p/B7x-r_gge6i/

Speaking about the upcoming series, creator and writer Steven Knight confirmed: ‘I start later this year and then we shoot next year and I have no idea when it would be out. Maybe early 2021, something like that?’

Damian Lewis, husband of Helen McCrory (who plays Aunt Polly on the show) also recently told Radio Times that she was due back on set in March, when discussing their hectic schedules as actors and balancing looking after their children.

He said: ‘There will be a small overlap next year because Helen starts filming Peaky Blinders in March before I’ve finished showing Billions in New York – but I’ll try and fly back as often as I can.’

The new season is expected in early 2021 (Picture: BBC)

Metro.co.uk has reached out to the BBC for comment about this announcement.

This comes after false reports that filming for the sixth season had began back in November, much to our disappointment. Looks like we’ve got a wait to go until the new season hits our screens, but work has begun.

Season five left things on a rather intense cliffhanger, after Tommy’s plan to assassinate Oswald Mosley (Sam Claflin) going so horrifically wrong that the series ended with him having a gun to his own head.

We can’t wait for more.

Peaky Blinders series 1-5 is available to view now on BBC iPlayer.

Dancing on Ice viewers accuse judges of fix after ‘overmarking’ H from Steps and Libby Clegg

Fans have accused the judges of showing ‘favouritism’ towards the couples (Picture: Rex)

Dancing on Ice viewers have accused the judges of overmarking Ian ‘H’ Watkins and Libby Clegg after both couples scored 28 points for their routines on Sunday night.

Opening the show, H and partner Matt Evers, who are the first same-sex duo to compete on the show, took to the ice in incredible matching outfits, sneaking in some sneaky Steps dance moves along the way.

But while we were super impressed with the pair’s routine, some fans were less impressed with the skating, accusing the judges of showing favouritism towards the Steps singer and his partner.

‘I love h and matt but that was so over marked. The routine was boring,’ one Twitter user wrote.

Meanwhile, another added: ‘H and Matt probably just got the biggest overmarking of the series? Very slow and tentative and not much interesting things going on??’

However, some viewers were definitely #TeamH, with one fan writing: ‘Loving H and Matt on #DancingOnIce. Such fun and great skating and dancing.’

Later on in the show, Paralympian Libby Clegg equalled her previous score of 28 as she skated with partner Mark Hanretty.

But unfortunately for the sprinter, who suffers from deteriorating eye sight, viewers were equally as critical of her dancing as H’s, once again suggesting that the show was fixed to benefit Libby.

‘Scored way to high every week, pulled around the ice by Mark, not like Joe where he actually skates on his own and scores so low, not fair at all, all about favouritism,’ one user wrote.

Another suggested argued that the athletics star had failed to complete the week’s spin challenge as well.

‘Over marked again,’ they wrote, ‘Didn’t complete the judges challenge, doesn’t do any solo skating and it’s really unstable. Should be marked the same as everyone else.’

But many fans praised Libby and called her ‘inspirational’, with one writing: ‘It’s frustrating seeing all the criticism @LibbyClegg gets . Credit where credit is due she does not let anything get in her way and doesn’t make excuses that she can’t do something because of her condition.’

Well said!

Dancing on Ice continues next Sunday at 6pm.

***Warning: Doctor Who spoilers ahead***

Doctor Who is used to seeing some familiar faces drop in and out every now and again – but viewers were stunned when she ran into Captain Jack Harkness.

The immortal Torchwood operative, played by John Barrowman, hasn’t been seen on screen in years, with the Doctor (Jodie Whittaker) going through a face change or two since.

As it happens, it was one regeneration too many for Jack to keep up with – and as he reappeared and immediately planted a snog on the lips of Graham (Bradley Walsh).

While Judoon take over the Earth in search of their missing fugitive who should have landed there, Jack warns Graham that: ‘He needs to know the future of the universe is at stake.’

When Jack’s informed that he (the Doctor) is now a she, it’s clearly too much to resist for the character who suddenly gets himself more involved.

As you can hope, he was just as cheeky and rude as ever.

However, at the halfway point of series 12, he makes a drop in cameo to say hi – adding to a number of friends and foes who have popped up over the course of the latest run.

Most notably, the Master, who has been given a new look themselves and regenerated as Sacha Dhawan.

Naturally fans couldn’t believe their eyes – and were delighted at his return:

Will he back making a return later this season though? Or will his fly-by appearance be just a tiny little easter egg to keep fans guessing?

Guess we’ll now have to wait to find out.

Meanwhile, we know that Jodie Whittaker has already agreed to do another season of the long-running sci-fi favourite, continuing her reign as the Thirteenth regeneration of the Time Lord.

She let slip the news during a chat with Entertainment Weekly, where she said: ‘I’m doing another season.

‘That might be a massive exclusive that I’m not supposed to say, but it’s unhelpful for me to say [I don’t know] because it would be a massive lie.’

Doctor Who continues Sunday at 7.10pm on BBC One.

Dancing On Ice viewers call for Jason Gardiner’s return after ‘overmarking’ backlash for judges

Jason Dancing On Ice
Jason Gardiner is being missed by fans (Picture: ITV)

Dancing On Ice fans are demanding the return of ‘Mr Nasty’ judge Jason Gardiner after hitting out at the current judges for overmarking contestants.

The controversial judge, who had remained on the panel from the start, was replaced with John Barrowman this series after stepping back from the judging panel.

During his time on the show he was dogged with criticism that he was too harsh, and when he announced he was leaving there were rumours circulating he was going to be axed anyway.

But as viewers watched the latest series of the ice-skating competition, there seems to be an overwhelming opinion that now the judges – completed by Torvill and Dean and Ashley Banjo – are going too soft.

After lashing out in the latest round of scores – with the judges apparently ‘overmarking’ H from Steps and Matt Evers, and then blind contestant Libby Clegg and her partner Mark Hanretty despite her slipping on the ice.

Viewers then commented that Jason would’ve caught other mishaps that the current panel have chosen to overlook.

Jason Gardiner
Jason is being missed from fans (Picture: ITV)

Fans are beginning to miss Jason, and demanded his return.

Jason quit the show in August last year in a Instagram video, after first appearing in 2006.

He said in the message: ‘After all these years I feel it’s time for me to say goodbye to my judging role and return to things I have been putting on hold and have been on the back burner for a while.

‘To all of my DOI fans I really thank you for your support and encouragement over the years, I know we’ve gone through some controversies and I’m glad you got my unique judging style and honestly.

‘It’s because of you I never cowered or shied away from serving up the truth.’

In fact, he even took a stab at host Holly Willoughby when performing a stand up routine.

Comparing the show to rival Strictly Come Dancing, he told the crowd about hosts ‘Phillip and Holly Willobooby – whose massive t**s aren’t hard to see.’

‘It’s like Strictly, but on ice. It tried to be Come Dancing. You get bruises from hell and that f***ing headbanging. It’s Dancing on Ice. What do I do instead, watch Call the Midwife. And now I’m free,‘ reports The Sun.

Dancing On Ice continues Sundays at 6pm on ITV.

Radzi Chinyanganya has become the third celebrity to be eliminated from Dancing on Ice after losing to Caprice Bourret in the skate off.

The BBC presenter went head to head against Caprice, with the judges unanimously voting to save the 48-year-old model for her performance to Glamorous by Fergie.

‘It’s been a genuine joy,’ Radzi told presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.

A latecomer to the competition, Radzi paid tribute to his partner Jess Hatfield for teaching him the routines in such a short space of time.

‘I joined thinking, “I’ll give it a go” but I’ve left genuinely loving it. It’s a memory I’ll take with me forever,’ he said.

Caprice will be skating through to the next week with her new partner Oscar Peter, having made her debut on the ice with him after ‘parting ways’ with professional skater Hamish Gaman.

Caprice and Hamish reportedly split because their relationship had become ‘unworkable.’

Dancing On Ice returns next Sunday at 6pm on ITV.

The search for a new Great British Bake Off host continues after Joe Brand has ruled herself out of taking over from Sandi Toksvig.

The comedian currently hosts the show’s spin-off An Extra Slice, and has admitted that she’s perfectly happy remaining there instead of stepping into Sandi’s place beside Noel Fielding.

Speaking to Claudia Winkleman on her BBC Radio 2 show, she simply said: ‘Sorry to disappoint you.’

However, while she’s not heading into the main tent, the star isn’t planning on follow Sandi and leaving the franchise either.

‘I actually really love doing Extra Slice, and I think there’s a lot more freedom to muck about, there’s so many different elements to the show,’ she said.

‘There’s a lovely team of people, I love working with Tom Allen.’

She then warned Tom ‘better not get that job’ in her place for fear of her kicking off.

Sandi announced she was leaving the Bake Off tent after three years last week to the shock of fans everywhere.

Since then Noel Fielding admitted he felt ‘like Tom without Jerry’ with her gone, while stars including Jonathan Van Ness have offered to step up and replace her.

Nadiya Hussain, who has previously won the series, is hot fave to replace her at 10/11, with Liam Charles, who was also a contestant and now hosts The Professionals, behind at 4/1.

In a surprise flurry of bets, comedian Sarah Millican is also in the running with bookies, coming in at 7/2.

The Great British Bake Off returns later this year on Channel 4.

Top Gear’s Freddie Flintoff sweats through top and shows off painful harness marks after terrifying car bungee jump

Top Gear pushed all boundaries tonight as Freddie Flintoff was left suspended in the air dangling from a dam for 45 minutes in the first episode of the new series.

In behind-the-scenes footage, exclusively shared with Metro.co.uk, the 42-year-old presenter was seen being finally released from the vehicle and harness and showed the physical effects of the stunt.

Speaking with co-host Chris Harris afterward, Freddie pulled down his top to reveal red rashes left from the straps used to secure him in place.

‘Look at the marks on my neck,’ he pointed out, causing Chris to wince as he looked away.

Freddie then proceeded to flash his other shoulder, to which Chris joked: ‘Looks like one of those women you used to hang out with in Preston who used to get a good go at you.’

As the pair walked over to find a spot of shade, Chris then pointed out Freddie’s sweat-covered t-shirt.

‘He’s been sweating like a you-know-what,’ he observed.

Fred looked relieved to be down (Picture: BBC)

‘I’ve been up there for an hour,’ Freddie hit back, before scolding the BBC for not giving him any water.

‘If this was Sky, there’d be a Winnebago over here. If this was League Of Their Own, I’d be getting fanned off six beauties with a chilled Coke zero.’

Elsewhere in the behind-the-scenes video, the crew talked about all the safety precautions they made before giving it the green-light.

Car technician Peter Ross explained: ‘What we’ve found is that momentarily, the car as it leaves the platform, it’s flipping upside down.

‘We’re going to cut anything that is potentially dark or dangerous or damaging to the cable.’

Meanwhile, stunt co-ordinator Derek Lee added: ‘Today, it’s basically about ironing out and getting the right trajectory.

Top Gear
Yep, this doesn’t look frightening in the slightest (Picture: BBC)

‘At the moment, it’s sort of diving in towards the dam a little bit. We think we can sort that out by steepening the ramp angle.’

‘There really has been no messing about here, obviously, as we don’t want to lose Fred,’ added Chris.

‘He’s remarkably unphased. But I know inside, he’s feeling “this is a slightly bigger undertaking than I initially thought”.’

He continued: ‘If I were him, I wouldn’t do it. I wouldn’t do it for all the tea in China.’

Speaking at Top Gear world premiere in Leicester Square earlier in the week, Chris admitted he was concerned for his co-host and recalled the horror of Freddie having to wait for 45 minutes before any action could unfold.

‘We had to do a load of safety checks,’ the 44-year-old explained.

‘We had to go through all of these checks to make sure the thing was safe to drop. ‘Fred had a valid point in the film when he says “shouldn’t you have done that earlier”, he was there for about 45 minutes and he became quite agitated.’

Top Gear continues on Sunday at 8pm on BBC One.

James Jordan ‘makes dig’ at Dancing On Ice’s Caprice Bourret over Hamish Gaman split

James Jordan has seemingly taken a dig at Caprice Bourret after the model ‘parted ways’ from her Dancing on Ice partner Hamish Gaman.

The famously outspoken former Strictly pro skated to glory during 2019’s series of ice skating competition, during which he was partnered with Alexandra Schauman and became close with the other professional dancers.

But as model Caprice returned to the ice for the first time amid reports of her relationship with Hamish becoming ‘unworkable’, James used the opportunity to make a sly dig at the 48-year-old.

‘As you all know I never put my opinions on twitter and always shy away from controversy,’ he wrote without a hint of sarcasm, obvs.

He continued: ‘However, I’d just like to say I spent 5 months working around Hamish from DOI last year and he’s a wonderful hard working guy who is lovely.

‘Take from that what you will.’

Ouch…

Making her debut with new partner Oscar Peter on Sunday night, Caprice sadly found herself near the bottom of the leaderboard and going up against Radzi Chinyanganya in the skate off.

Fortunately the fashion icon lived to skate another day after the judges unanimously voted to save Caprice for her performance to Glamorous by Fergie.

A latecomer to the competition, former Blue Peter presenter Radzi thanked partner Jess Hatfield for teaching him the routines in such a short space of time after he replaced Michael Barrymore on the show.

‘It’s been a genuine joy,’ he told presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.

‘I joined thinking, “I’ll give it a go” but I’ve left genuinely loving it. It’s a memory I’ll take with me forever.’

Phillip Schofield has found a new leading lady away from Dancing On Ice and This Morning co-star Holly Willoughby in Lucy Verasamy.

The pair posed for official snaps for their new teatime show How To Spend It Well On Holiday – which comes just in time for Holly to head over to the BBC with Bradley Walsh.

Phillip’s new show, which is a new sister show for his How To Spend It Well At Christmas series, will debut in the spring with Lucy at the helm alongside him.

Announcing the news alongside a cheeky selfie, a delighted Lucy wrote: ‘Fun Friday filming in the weather studio with @schofe: all will be revealed in the spring!’

For those unfamiliar with Lucy, she’ll be known to most for her appearances as a weather girl on ITV Weather and Good Morning Britain.

The three-part series comes just as Holly Willoughby was reportedly nabbed by the BBC for a new primetime show with another ITV fave face, Bradley Walsh.

Bradley and Holly were paired up for the first time for a Christmas special of the series, which saw viewers and the studio audience play games to earn a place on a plane to Lapland.

It’s been reported that a full series has now been lined-up to air – meaning two of ITV’s biggest stars have now got a base on their biggest rival.

It’s believed that while the pair front the new show, they will still maintain their regular beloved spots on ITV – with Bradley hosting The Chase and Holly remaining with Phillip Schofield on This Morning.

It was rumoured at the end of last year that there was trouble behind-the-scenes of This Morning, with staff complaining about Phillip Schofield’s ‘attitude’.

Holly was also suggested to have had a fallout with Phillip, something that they both later denied.

Phillip and Holly are also currently hosting Sunday night favourite, Dancing On Ice, together.

Dancing On Ice continues Sundays from 6pm on ITV.

Woman recalls moment she was sent to concentration camp on her wedding day in Auschwitz: Untold in Colour

Auswitchz: Untold in Colour shares the stories of Holocaust survivors (Picture: Channel 4)

A woman recalled the moment she was sent to a concentration camp on her wedding day in emotional scenes on Auschwitz: Untold in Colour.

Holocaust survivors recounted their harrowing members of the time for the programme, including when people of Jewish faith were taken to camps in cattle trucks.

One woman, Iby Knill, was meant to be getting married when she was taken away by the Nazis to Auschwitz.

She said: ‘It seemed to be incredible, that the day I was supposed to get married I found myself pushed into a cattle wagon.

‘I think we were just stunned. Certainly I was, I thought this is just not happening. I couldn’t believe it was happening.’

In the trucks they were forced to stand up for the entire journey, travelling ‘body to body, no water, no sanitation’.

Another survivor, Judith Altmann, explained: ‘The train was going very slow. The first night, a man dies. We asked the SS men, “What do we do with the body?”, “Put him in a corner” – there was no corner.’

‘People were screaming and then bezerk. They were screaming, they were hitting others, they went out of their mind.’

Auswitchz: Untold in Colour
Viewers will see colourised footage for the first time (Picture: Channel 4)

The Channel 4 series, narrated by Sir Ben Kingsley, was made to mark 75 years since the liberation of Auschwitz. Viewers will see colourised footage from that period for the first time.

Development producer, Sheldon Lazarus, said: ‘The 16 survivors who feature in this series tell their extraordinary accounts of survival and resistance against all odds in their own voices.

‘Accompanied by remarkable colourised footage from the archives, we hope this series will help remove a barrier that separates contemporary audiences from the reality of the Holocaust, so that we never ever forget the atrocities of the past.

AUSCHWITZ IN COLOUR
The documentary featured harrowing stories from those that survived, such as Arek Hersch (Picture: Channel 4)

‘With the 75th anniversary to commemorate the liberation of Auschwitz in 2020, we felt it was really timely and important to bring to life the untold stories of the Holocaust in a new way.’

Producer and Director David Shulman said he wanted his documentary to have ‘as much contemporary resonance as possible’.

‘The colourisation of black and white archive footage is one aspect of making this history more accessible to a younger audience and giving greater humanity to the people seen in the footage,’ he added.

The Auschwitz Memorial and Museum estimates 1.1 million of the 1.3 million deported to the camp were murdered.

‘Also, by including a Jewish resistance fighter from Vilna and a Roma holocaust survivor from France I think Auschwitz Untold: In Colour adds unique perspectives typically overlooked by most documentaries about the Holocaust.’

Auschwitz: Untold in Colour continues 27 January on More4 followed by a 90-minute special on 29 January on Channel 4.
