Sky has revealed the first look at Idris Elba and Bill Bailey for In The Long Run series two, set to be released next month.
Created by and starring Idris, the show is a semi-autobiographical comedy based on the actor’s childhood in 1980s London.
The second series picks up as Walter (Idris Elba) is elected as a union representative at the factory, where a tricky negotiation tests his strength of character.
His colleagues Bagpipes (Bill Bailey) and Rajesh (Neil D’Souza) meanwhile are planning to strike to save their jobs, while Agnes (Madeline Appiah) is hoping to kick-start a new career at the local council.
Kirsty (Kellie Shirley) and Bagpipes also have to contend with the arrival of the real father of daughter Melissa, while Valentine (Jimmy Akingbola) is struggling with the realities of bachelor life.
The first series, which aired last year, met a positive critical reception, with Metro.co.uk’s review stating the show ‘effortlessly embodies the duality of being both black and British’.
