Stacey Branning is set for a dark beginning to 2016 as she prepares to battle a rare mental illness after giving birth to her baby on Christmas Eve.
Stacey is set to suffer from the condition postpartum psychosis, an illness that is highly uncommon but more prominent in new mums with a history bipolar disorder. Those with the condition can experience hallucinations and mood swings, among other symptoms.

Jason Manford has defended fellow comic Jimmy Carr over that ‘dwarf joke’ the latter made on The One Show.
The Mancunian comedian wrote on Facebook: ‘Really? With everything going on in the world, two people still find time to complain about a joke! I bet that neither person who complained were dwarves. It never is.
‘So many people in this country who get offended on other peoples behalves! Maybe just stick to watching CBeebies!’
Jimmy came under fire for the joke made while on the BBC magazine show with Rod Stewart last month.

Emmerdale actress Shirley Stelfox, who played Edna Birch, dies aged 74
Emmerdale star Shirley Stelfox, who played battleaxe Edna Birch, has died after a short illness aged 74.
A statement from Associated International Management confirmed that the actress, who previously appeared in Coronation Street and Keeping Up Appearances, had been battling cancer and passed away on Monday night with her daughter, Helena, by her side.
ITV executive producer, John Whiston, said: ‘The family here at Emmerdale are deeply saddened by Shirley’s passing, it is hard to imagine Emmerdale without her. We offer our condolences to Shirley’s family and share our feeling of loss with the millions of viewers who will miss Edna enormously.’

Contestant Oscar Powell from Peterhouse, Cambridge was the real winner of last night’s show.

Darren Day ‘signs up for Celebrity Big Brother 2016’
The first contestant for Celebrity Big Brother 2016 has been announced – West End actor Darren Day.
The 47-year-old, who has also battled a £200-a-week cocaine addiction, has apparently been snapped up in the hope that he’ll be frank about his ‘love rat’ past, having cheated on the majority of his famous girlfriends.
Back in the 90s he dumped fiancée actress Anna Friel, then just two weeks later began seeing Corrie actress Tracy Shaw. He proposed to Shaw and gave her the engagement ring he’d bought for Friel.

Leona Lewis confirmed to perform at X Factor final – but who else will be joining her?
Former X Factor winner Leona Lewis has joined the ever-increasing list of acts performing at the 2015 final this weekend.
Lewis – who found fame after winning the third series of the show in 2006 – confirmed the news during an appearance on Good Morning Britain on Tuesday morning.
‘I’m gonna be performing on Saturday,’ she revealed. ‘They asked me a couple of weeks ago.’
She went on to add: ‘It’s a bit of a surprise actually ’cause it’s not just me.’ – fuelling speculation that she could be duetting with one of the finalists on the show.

Doctor Who star Peter Capaldi doesn’t want a male companion in the TARDIS
Peter Capaldi has revealed he doesn’t want to be joined by a male companion in the next series of Doctor Who – because he’s worried they’ll get all the ‘action’.
The actor, 57, has been left without a companion on the BBC show now that Jenna Coleman has left as Clara Oswald.
While there has been lots of talk about a future female Time Lord, Capaldi made it clear that he wasn’t up for a gender switch when it came to casting a new companion.

Poor Norman Reedus. If it wasn’t enough to fight off zombies onscreen for The Walking Dead, he now has to contend with snap-happy fans in the real world too.
The actor – who plays Daryl Dixon on the AMC show – was bitten by an obsessed fan at a zombie convention over the weekend.
TMZ claims the female admirer actually bit Norman’s chest while posing for a photo at Walker Stalker Con after telling him that she told everyone that they were married.

Lady C claims Duncan Bannatyne shoved her after I’m A Celebrity ended
Lady Colin Campbell has continued her feud with Duncan Bannatyne even after the end of I’m A Celebrity by claiming that he shoved her and son Dima.
According to The Sun, Lady C reportedly claimed that Duncan ‘shoved’ her just moments after Vicky Pattison was crowned the winner and then ‘barged’ past her son Dima at the wrap party.
A source said that Bannatyne refutes the claims, adding that the entrepreneur was not even aware he was meant to have barged anyone until he saw it on Twitter. They said: ‘He is trying to keep a dignified silence when it comes to Lady C.’

That’s what one hapless mugger recently discovered when he tried to relieve the comedian of her money at a cashpoint. Shaming him on Twitter, Burke revealed that her streetwise nature was her attacker’s downfall – before warning her followers to be vigilant of similar attacks in the run up to Christmas.
