Arya Stark and Jon Snow were originally supposed to fall in love in Game Of Thrones

This would have been weird (Picture: HBO)

Game Of Thrones doesn’t exactly shy away from icky romances – episode one hadn’t even wrapped up when we were introduced to Cersei and Jaime’s incestuous relationship.

But there was one scrapped relationship which we can’t even imagine making it to the screen.

It turns out that George RR Martin planned on Arya Stark falling in love with Jon Snow – which is all kinds of wrong.

Way before Game Of Thrones was brought to HBO, when Martin was laying out the family dynamics in the outline for his A Song Of Ice And Fire series, he thought up a storyline in which Jon and Arya fell in love.

Arya – who is Jon’s cousin, but at this time believed they were half-siblings – was originally slated to join her mother Catelyn and brother Bran on their journey to the Wall, and when she arrived at Castle Black, Martin planned for Arya to realise she had feelings for the Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch.

Martin eventually scrapped the plot (Picture: EPA/JASON SZENES)

The outline read: ‘Wounded by Lannister riders, they will seek refuge at the Wall, but the men of the Night’s Watch give up their families when they take the black, and Jon and Benjen will not be able to help, to Jon’s anguish. It will lead to a bitter estrangement between Jon and Bran.

‘Arya will be more forgiving… until she realises, with terror, that she has fallen in love with Jon, who is not only her half-brother but a man of the Night’s Watch, sworn to celibacy.

‘Their passion will continue to torment Jon and Arya throughout the trilogy, until the secret of Jon’s true parentage is finally revealed in the last book.’

Not only had Martin planned for the relatives to have an incestuous romance, but Tyrion Lannister was also originally set to fall in love with the youngest Stark sister.

Martin’s outline read: ‘Exiled, Tyrion will change sides, making common cause with the surviving Starks to bring his brother down, and falling helplessly in love with Arya Stark while he’s at it.

‘His passion is, alas, un-reciprocated, but no less intense for that, and it will lead to a deadly rivalry between Tyrion and Jon Snow.’

Thankfully, this plot was thrown out, and we got to see Arya (Maisie Williams) and Jon (Kit Harington) bonding as outcasts of the Stark clan.

However, Jon hasn’t avoided the ick factor, as he has fallen for Daenerys Targaryen – who he has just discovered is actually his aunt.

Dating in Winterfell, what a nightmare.

Game Of Thrones airs Sunday nights on HBO in the US and is simulcast on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV.

Star Trek: Discovery star reacts to their shock season 2 finale death as fans grieve major loss

*Warning: This article contains spoilers for the finale of Star Trek: Discovery season 2.

Star Trek Discovery just aired a death that absolutely no one saw coming.

After the shock news that Captain Pike (played by Anson Mount) and Number One (Rebecca Romijn) would exit this season, it’s time to mourn Admiral Cornwell who became the latest casualty of the sci-fi epic.

During the first half of the tragic two-parter, Discovery set off to Xathea with the time crystal the team swiped from Boreth, which they used to send the data Control has been looking for to the future.

However, when Michael Burnham (Soniqua Martin-Green) had a glimpse into what’s next for her crew, she saw Discovery under attack by Control, and sadly a gruesome part of that vision came true.

A torpedo was lodged in the Enterprise hub with Number One and Admiral Cornwell volunteering to seal the blast door and containing whatever blast was awaiting them. The only problem, someone would have to stay inside.

Captain Pike offered to sacrifice himself because he’s already seen his future and, well, he’s in it so surely he couldn’t possibly die, right?

Cornwell wasn’t prepared to risk it and closed the door as a horrified Pike watch on from the outside while she obliterated in the explosion.

Jayne Brook tweet

Jayne Brook, who starred as Cornwell since the first season, told fans: ‘We filmed into the wee hours of the morning for this incredible episode. It’s a wild ride. Hold on!’

And fans immediately rushed to the star’s tweet to share their condolences:

Star Trek: Discovery season 3 is expected to land on CBS and Netflix in 2020.

This Morning insists single parent debate isn’t about gender despite asking: ‘Do you need a man by your side to have a baby?’

This Morning hosted a ‘genderless’ debate about whether a parent is selfish to plan on having a child alone… and then blew it with their controversial choice of title.

With the conversation turning to Cheryl considering ‘other options’ including sperm donation to have her second baby, Hilary Freeman and Genevieve Roberts took to the show with John Barrowman and Rochelle Humes to debate the issue.

However, despite the hosts and guests insisting that the debate isn’t about gender and more about a partnership, the title of the segment read: ‘Do you need a man by your side to have a baby?’

‘#ThisMorning your title states “ Do you need a man by you side to have a baby” but the point was stated it’s not about Gender ? Which is it ?,’ one confused viewer asked.

Another added: ‘Surely it should be a case of do you need two people to bring up a baby in this gender melting pot we now live in.’

Twitter users weren't convinced by This Morning's single parent debate

Meanwhile, one more viewer pointed out: ‘This single parent argument is clearly out of date.’

‘Surely it should be a case of do you need two people to bring up a baby in this gender melting pot we now live in. Johns words, well my partners looking after a kid cause I’m out working. Eh bringing home the bacon – cash. So hows that any diff from pre 1980’s?’ asked another.

Cheryl recently revealed she’s ‘considering other options to have kids’ (Picture: Jeff Spicer/Getty Images)

The debate comes just a few days after a guest on the Good Morning Britain claimed single parents are ‘selfish.’

She weighed in on popstar Cheryl’s decision to have more children on her own, accusing the singer of ‘buying’ children.

In an interview on Good Morning Britain, mum Lottie Daley said: ‘Cheryl, love, you are so young you’ve got all the time in the world to meet another guy. But ultimately you can’t buy children.

‘It’s very different to splitting up from a person. You start off with the best of intentions. But to start off with the exact definition of depriving a child of two parents…’

Host Richard Madeley argued: ‘But if the end result’s the same?’

Lottie added: ‘She’s not gonna have a father for that child. I have a friend who is a project of a sperm donor and he’s absolutely miserable. He won’t even have children.

‘I know where my dad is and he doesn’t want to know, and the impact on me and the choices I’ve made with relationships has been devastating.’

‘It’s very selfish to deprive a child from the outset of a father.’

This Morning airs weekdays at 10.30am on ITV.

There’s barely a person who has watched Killing Eve who hasn’t got an Eve Polastri-level obsession with Villanelle.

But one Jodie Comer fan took things to the next level by asking the actress to get physical with her while taking a selfie.

Jodie opened up on one of her stranger fan encounters as she dropped by The Graham Norton Show.

The 26-year-old is on the famous settee with Anne Hathaway, Rebel Wilson, Daniel Radcliffe and Mabel, and discussed some of the more extreme reactions fans have had since her star-making role in Killing Eve.

In an interview set to air on BBC1 tonight, Jodie says: ‘A lot of people just look at me in a “Is it her” sort of way, but recently I had a really strange one.

‘A woman asked for a photograph with me and then she whispered in my ear, “Will you strangle me?” I said, “No!”‘

Probably for the best.

Jodie plays assassin Villanelle who is being tracked down by MI5 officer Eve Polastri (Sandra Oh). The series one finale ended with the pair confessing their mutual obsession, and Eve stabbing Villanelle before she flees.

While UK audiences are waiting on tenterhooks for series two of Killing Eve to begin, US audiences are already two episodes in due to it airing on BBC America first.

And Jodie admits it’s rather nerve-wracking having so many people waiting on the new series.

The actress, also known for Doctor Foster and My Mad Fat Diary, says: ‘There is a lot more pressure because of expectations and everyone is waiting on tenterhooks for it to come out, but once you start filming, you just have to put that to one side.’

The Graham Norton Show is on BBC1 tonight at 10.30pm.

Sir David Attenborough’s Our Planet accused of lying about the walrus massacre which shattered Netflix viewers

Walruses in Our Planet and Sir David Attenborough
What’s the deal with the plight of the walrus in Our Planet? (Picture: Netflix/REX)

Sir David Attenborough’s Our Planet has come under fire for misleading viewers over the plight of the walrus, which left the world broken.

After Dave won wave reviews for his ‘terrifying’ BBC programme detailing the escalating effects of climate change, his Netflix series has now been slammed for ‘spinning a bogus tale’.

The scene in question saw hundreds of walruses diving from the edge of a cliff, falling to their deaths and crushing some of their pals along the way.

Our Planet claimed the tragedy was down to global warming melting the sea ice and driving the creatures to death, but a zoologist has suggested otherwise.

Dr. Susan Crockford told Mirror Online: ‘More walruses are hauling out and dying from falls and trampling because they are more abundant now than they have been in more than a century.

‘Our Planet producers are spinning a bogus tale to promote an agenda using deliberately misleading footage and commentary.’

In a post on her website, Susan was well miffed: ‘The lie being told by Attenborough and the film crew is that 200-300 walruses fell during the time they were filming, while in fact they filmed only a few: polar bears were responsible for the majority of the carcasses shown on the beach below the cliff.

‘This is, of course, in addition to the bigger lie that lack of sea ice is to blame for walrus herds being on shore in the first place.’

The Siberian Times reported the scene was manipulated for Our Planet’s plea, claiming polar bears actually chased the walruses off the rocks.

Walruses fall off a cliff to their deaths below due to climate change in this episode of the Netflix show "Our Planet" titled "Frozen Worlds."
Heartbreaking footage of Walruses falling off a cliff in Netflix’s Our Planet (Picture: Netflix)

Though, producer Sophie Lanfear has since shut any idea that polar bears were behind the harrowing footage and stood by the facts laid out on screen.

‘We filmed pacific walrus falling from high cliffs,’ she retorted. ‘They were not being driven off the cliffs by the polar bears and we know this because we had two team members watching the cliffs from afar who could see the polar bears and were in radio communications with us to warn us about any bears approaching the crew closer to the walrus and the cliffs.

‘Once the walrus had rested at the top for a few days they wanted to return to the sea when all the other below started to leave. We would watch them for hours teetering back and forth on the edge before finally, falling off.

‘Fundamentally, the reason walrus used this haul out location is because of a lack of sea ice in the region, meaning they are coming ashore more frequently than they did in the past. And at this particular site, once the beach below the cliffs was full, they spread out and up the cliffs and were unable to find their way safely down, with tragic consequences.’

Woman watching TV
Plant yourself on the couch and watch these beauties(Picture: Getty)

It’s Easter weekend, and it’s going to be a scorcher here in the UK. For some, that means getting out and about and enjoying the weather, but for others it’s a perfect opportunity to hole up and catch up on their TV.

The schedules tend to favour light content during the Easter break, so expect plenty of that, alongside some comedy too.

Here are our picks of what’s on the box over the Bank Holiday.

The Graham Norton Show, BBC One, Friday 10.30pm

This week the host will be joined by Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson, who will be talking about The Hustle, which is their new all-girl remake of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (directed by The Thick of It’s Chris Addison, no less).

You can also expect Jodie Comer to be on the couch talking about the much-anticipated second series of Killing Eve, alongside good old Daniel Radcliffe who’s promoting the new Playmobil Movie.

The Comedy Years, ITV3, Friday, 9pm

For some light evening nostalgia (perhaps after a few proseccos) this look back at the way comedy has changed could be a very good shout.

Starting from 1979 and the so-called ‘Winter of Discontent’ the show will track the rise of satire, cabaret-club comedy, and even the very beginnings off Mr Bean.

Pointless Celebrities, BBC One, Saturday 7.30pm and Sunday 5.45pm

Who doesn’t love a good gameshow on the weekend?

Saturday sees a special 80s version of the classic quiz, with contestants Carol Decker, Dennis Seaton, Bob Champion, Jo Durie, Samantha Fox, Duncan Norvelle, John Kettley and Lizzie Webb.

On Sunday the celebs fighting it out for the charity prize money will be Trisha Goddard, Katie Derham, Johnny Vaughan, Toby Tarrant, Anne Diamond, Adam Pearson, Chris Hollins and Sarah Greene.

The Jonathan Ross Show, ITV, 9.20pm

Kiefer Sutherland is one of this week’s start guests, and he’ll be talking to Wossy about his move from acting to country music.

Alongside him on the couch will be Newsnight presenter Emily Maitlis and supermodel Winnie Harlow, along with a performance from The Voice coach Olly Murs.

Easter from King’s, BBC Two, 5.35pm

For something a bit more reverent, this Easter service from King’s College in Cambridge has you covered.

The choir will be singing Crucifixus, Were You There? and This Joyful Eastertide, and poems and bible stories will also be read.

Line of Duty, BBC One, Sunday, 9pm

It’s what we’ve all be waiting for; episode four of Line of Duty.

H has still not been discovered, but suspicions are rife across the OCG. Certainly not one to watch if you want to relax, as this promises to have viewers on the edge of their seats.

The League of Gentlemen, BBC Two, Sunday, 10pm

This love recording of the stage show of the hit surreal comedy takes us all back to Royston Vasey.

Expect to see Mark Gatiss, Steven Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith back in their usual disturbing costumes and up to some creepy but hilarious japes.

Sara Pascoe Live: LadsLadsLads, BBC Two, Monday, 10pm

The Night King symbol explained by Game of Thrones writer and fans were way off with Targaryen speculation

Vladimir Furdik as the Night King
The Night King’s spiral symbol has been explained (Picture: HBO)

Game Of Thrones season eight writer Dave Hill has explained what the Night King’s spiral symbol means.

In the premiere of the final season, Tormund (Kristofer Hivju) and Beric Dondarrion (Richard Dormer) discovered child Lord Ned Umber nailed to a wall and surrounded by bloody, severed body parts in a peculiar spiral shape.

Hill revealed that the Night King uses the shape as a ‘sort of blasphemy’.

He told the New York Post: ‘As we saw with Bran and the Three-Eyed Raven, the spiral pattern was sacred to the Children of the Forest, who created the Night King by sacrificing a captured man in a spiral “henge of stones.”

‘The Night King then adopted the symbol as a sort of blasphemy, like Satan with the upside-down cross.’

So think of it as the Night King sticking two fingers up at the Children of the Forest.

It flies in the face of the fan theory that the spiral shape was a connection to the Targaryens, as it resembles the House sigil of a three-headed dragon.

There was also the idea that the Night King himself is a Targaryen as he can control his Ice Dragon, which used to belong to Daenerys Targareyn until he killed it.

Fans know that only Targaryens can ride dragons and they have seen the Night King do just that.

The premiere episode of the final season saw Jon Snow reunited with his sisters Arya and Sansa Stark before finding out the truth about his parentage.

It also saw Bran Stark come face to face with Jaime Lannister, who pushed Bran out of a window in season one after he saw Jaime having sex with his sister Cersei.

Game Of Thrones airs Sundays at 2am and Mondays at 9pm on Sky Atlantic. Seasons 1-7 are available to watch on NOW TV.

Winnie Harlow is not happy when people label her as ‘suffering’ from vitiligo.

The Canadian model, real name Chantelle Brown-Young, was diagnosed at the age of four and speaking on the Jonathan Ross show, she doesn’t want people to feel sorry for her.

Don’t get it twisted.

Talking to the show host about modelling with her skin condition, and she said: ‘I really do hope that there are more [models with vitiligo] in the future… Basically my immune system thinks that my melanin is like a common cold so it fights it off.’

On the misconceptions, Winnie revealed she does get fed up, as she said: ‘Some articles kept writing, they would say, “Winnie Harlow, 24, suffering from vitiligo” I was like, “Do I look like I’m suffering? Come on now.” Let’s not do that. I feel like it’s not anyone else’s person position to tell me I am “suffering”. I don’t feel like I am suffering. I am conquering, I am living, I am living my best life in the way that I can and thriving.’

Describing how she once needed to be helped in the toilet by the Firework singer, Winnie previously told Access Live about the incident after singer came to the rescue of the model at the Met Gala in May, after Winnie – who was attending her very first fundraising event at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City – had difficulty going to the bathroom in her Tommy Hilfiger gown.

Speaking to Access Live, Winnie said: ‘Katy Perry helped me use the bathroom. I actually went to the bathroom and I was walking around looking like, “Oh my gosh, what am I going to do?”

And she was like, “Do you need help?” and I was like “No, no, no, it’s ok, don’t worry about it.”

‘[She was like] “Girl, you’re going to need some help.” She went in the stall with me, and held my dress up. That’s what really happens in the girl’s bathroom.’

Andrea McLean couldn’t bear Ant Middleton shouting at her during Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.

The Loose Women panel host, who battles anxiety, was shown breaking down in tears on the show when she relived a horrific memory from her own past that she has refused to talk about.

After the show, Andrea has admitted that she ‘struggled emotionally’ and is now considering trying therapy to help her deal with past trauma.

She said: ‘While taking part in Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, I struggled emotionally when [lead instructor] Ant Middleton shouted at me, as it brought back dark times. Memories I thought I’d pushed so far down into my head that they weren’t there anymore.

‘But I realised that putting memories into a box and thinking ‘I’m not going to look at that anymore’ doesn’t mean they’re gone. I’ve realised I’ve got to confront them and address a few things. I haven’t decided what the best course of action is yet, but possibly therapy.

‘I don’t want to break down again like I did on there.’

The Walking Dead fans are missing Maggie Rhee just as much as Rick Grimes only they have the promise that she will be popping up in the zombie drama in the not-too distant future.

Lauren Cohan abandoned The Walking Dead after landing the lead in ABC’s new comedy Whiskey Cavalier, and after the show received some pretty stellar reviews it seemed less likely the 37-year-old would be returning to her post-apocalyptic roots.

Well, TWD fandom, not only is Lauren certainly coming back, the actress has promised Maggie’s return is going to be a blast.

‘I feel really, really lucky ‘cause, rest assured, the Maggie story is not finished’ Lauren told Collider after recently reuniting with her The Walking Dead co-stars. ‘It’s still very exciting.’

The Walking Dead fans were slightly puzzled when Maggie drop off the face of the series with no explanation during a season nine time jump, following the exit of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln).

After seven seasons as one of the show’s main players, a simple goodbye would have been nice.

Angela Kang stressed time and time again the door is always open for the hero’s return, but as it stands there’s no update as to when that might be.

‘I can just reiterate that we adore Maggie, we left the door open for her to come back into the show or the universe,’ the showrunner told Entertainment Weekly.

‘So I’m hopeful we’ll see more of Maggie. We certainly have more stories planned for her.’

Although, Angela has said she is hopeful that’s season 10 will be the chapter to welcome Maggie back with open arms, even if it’s also the same period in which we’ll wave off Michonne (Danai Gurira).

The Walking Dead is expected to return to FOX UK and AMC later this year.

Riverdale star Chad Michael Murray is teaming up with his former One Tree Hill alum Torrey Devitto for a new Christmas TV movie.

The stars, who played Lucas Scott and nanny Carrie on the hit show, will also reteam with Drew Seeley, who guest starred on the former teen drama, for Hallmark film Five Cards For Christmas.

Which sounds like a Hallmark Christmas film if we ever heard one.

Production on the movie, which also stars Lolita Davidovich and Grant Show, will begin in late April, according to Entertainment Tonight.

Riverdale
Will we ever not be creeped out by him in Riverdale though? (Picture: CW)

The film has a rather familiar storyline though, as recently single Jessica – played by DeVitto – sends five Christmas cards to people who have impacted her life.

Her aunt (Davidovich) who raised her, her younger brother in the military, a pop star Jax (Seeley) who provided the soundtrack to her life, the music teacher who inspired her and her best friend, Mimi, who always tells her the truth.

Murray will play Luke, the son of the music teacher, who – would you believe it? – isn’t at home to open the card and so asks Luke to open her mail.

It’s not the first time the Gods of Christmas have looked down on One Tree Hill fans though.

Michael Ball booed on TV for saying he doesn’t thank his wife for hoovering around the house because ‘she wants to do it’

Michael Ball should have read the room during his live TV interview on Loose Women, where he took part in a discussion about housework causing rows between couples.

It was revealed on Friday’s show that the dishwasher apparently sparks the most arguments, which led to talk about how housework is divided up.

Michael said he ‘does all the cooking’ in his home because he can cook better than his partner Cathy.

Panelist Saira Khan added: ‘I do all the household chores but I just do them.

‘I don’t say, “I’ve just done this”, but when my husband does it he tells me.

‘He likes to make a declaration. And what do you want from me? We live in the house together it’s our house.’

Michael replied: ‘If I’ve hoovered, which isn’t often but I will do it, I’d want everyone to know I’d done it. Because I’ve hoovered.’

Coleen Nolan asked him: ‘If she’s hoovered do you go, “Oh thanks for hoovering, oh that’s amazing”?’

‘No, because she wants to hoover,’ Michael said.

As the audience and the panel gasped in horror and started booing, Michael closed his eyes in realisation of what he’d just said.

The singer then explained himself – sharpish: ‘Traditionally…you’ve got a bloke and a woman in a house that needs hoovering. First one to give in will be the woman, I would say. Giving in to say, “alright I’ll do it, I’ll hoover.”‘

Saira shot back: ‘Because we know blokes aren’t gonna do it as well as we are.’

‘So do we!’ Michael said.

He also came under fire from the Loose Women audience for confessing he put a roasting tray that still had oil in it straight into the dishwasher without getting rid the oil first.

‘I should have been on Grumpy Old Men’, Michael joked.

Loose Women airs weekdays from 12.30pm on ITV.

Leonard and Penny in The Big Bang Theory
Looks like The Big Bang Theory have revealed how it all ends for Leonard and Penny
(Picture: CBS)

The Big Bang Theory’s last ever episode is starting to shape as we enter the final five episodes, and now it’s become clear that Penny and Leonard are about to make a huge life decision.

In the trailer for next week’s The Big Bang Theory, titled The Decision Reverberation, Leonard (played by Johnny Galecki) reveals he’s thinking about quitting his job at the university.

But that’s not all…

‘There are plenty of other universities across the world,’ he casually tells Penny (Kaley Cuoco), who quite rightly is a little miffed that her husband is planning on moving them to the other side of the planet – no questions asked.

So is this how it all ends? Penny and Leonard are going to abandon their pals for a new life in a new country? The door’s always open here in the UK….

During last night’s The Big Bang Theory, fans mourned the first of many lasts as they heard Sheldon sing Sweet Kitty for the very final time.

Although, Kaley Cuoco did warn us before the show aired that the floodgates would be opening.

In another behind-the-scenes photo on Instagram, the 33-year-old wrote: ‘TONIGHT don’t miss an all new ep @bigbangtheory_cbs ! only a few curtain calls left!! Cue tears!!!’

And she wasn’t wrong. Fans were sobbing their wee hearts out over Sheldon’s little lullaby; the one glimmer of empathy beneath that frosty shell of his.

While it looks like we’re starting to get an idea of Penny and Leonard’s closing story, showrunner Steve Holland recently told TV Insider: ‘There are still pieces of the [finale] we have to figure out. We know some of the “what”. We don’t know all of the “how”.

‘There’s a lot of talk about wanting to feel that the gang’s world will continue as viewers know it to be. Of all the feelings we’ve talked about, that’s one that we all like.’

The Big Bang Theory airs Thursdays on CBS in the US and E4 in the UK.

Avicii in BBC documentary True Stories
Avicii, who died last year, speaks about his health problems in a new documentary (Picture: BBC)

Avicii’s health battle is revealed in never-before-seen footage to be shown in a new documentary.

The DJ, who took his own life last year aged 28, battled acute pancreatitis which meant he had to have his gallbladder and appendix removed in 2014.

He also struggled with painkiller addiction that saw him taking ’20 pills a day’ as he powered through his demanding tour schedule. He retired from touring two years later.

Documentary Avicii: True Stories recounts the star’s problems with alcohol abuse, which landed him in hospital while in Australia on tour.

The film shows him asking to be discharged from hospital so he can continue with his tour, but is advised not to by doctors.

The Levels star, real name Tim Bergling, explains: ‘Having the pancreatitis wasn’t the problem, it was the pain that stays with you afterwards. At first it was for a month and then it was for four months.

‘I was taking 20 pills a day but they kept telling me it wasn’t addictive. I was still anxious and then I started touring again.’

He went on: ‘I didn’t give myself time to stop and recover, not just from the pain and the medication but also the illness and all the years of touring and stress. I just kept going.’

Avicii: True Stories was first shown on Netflix and will air on BBC Three on Saturday.

Deciding to stop touring altogether in 2016, he told The Hollywood Reporter at the time: ‘To me it was something I had to do for my health. The scene was not for me.

‘It was not the shows and not the music. It was always the other stuff surrounding it that never came naturally to me.

‘All the other parts of being an artist. I’m more of an introverted person in general. It was always very hard for me. I took on board too much negative energy, I think.’

In an announcement on his official website the star gave out a number for fans to text if they needed support, adding that he would ‘never say never’ to performing live again.

A year after his death, Avicii’s family released the first single from his posthumous album.

The song, SOS featuring Aloe Blacc, comes with a music video made up of fan tributes to the late star.

His family confirmed that he had been close to finishing a new album before his death, and that they would release the record – called TIM – to the world on 6 June.

Avicii: True Stories drops on BBC Three on 20 April.

Harry Potter’s Miriam Margolyes wants assisted suicide if she falls seriously ill

Harry Potter actress wants assisted suicide if she falls seriously ill Miriam Margolyes

Harry Potter star Miriam Margolyes has revealed that she would want assisted suicide if she falls seriously sick.

The 77-year-old British-Australian star is set to appear in a new documentary on death – and has called for a new review of the legislation around friends or family helping loved ones die, which is currently charged as murder.

The star, who played Professor Sprout in the popular franchise, appears in new two-part BBC Two series, Miriam’s Dead Good Adventure, to explore the attitudes around aging and death.

The first episode, which airs on Easter Sunday, sees Miriam travelling to USA to meet with individuals who are trying to achieve super long life by approaching life and death differently.

She explores various themes with the world’s largest gathering of radical life extension enthusiasts at the Revolution Against Ageing and Death Festival in California.

Chatting with the Mail the Call The Midwives star touched on her own views and said: ‘Things need to be talked about and confronted. That’s what I wanted to do in the series.

‘I’d rather be alive than dead. Dying is the thing that worries people and I understand that. It worries me. You don’t want to be incontinent and smelly and helpless.’

WARNER BROS Miriam Margolyes

She added: ‘I’m nearly 78 and started to lose friends within the last five years, people that I really cared about died and that made me confront the issue.’

This comes after Metro.co.uk spoke to the star about her funeral plans.

The actress admitted that she has already got the event planned out, right down to the coffin she wants to be buried in.

She has had one made exactly to her liking but admits it’s still in the shop.

‘I haven’t collected it yet, I’ve got to go and get it, it’s waiting for me. It’s all packed up,’ she told us.

‘I have to go and get it and get it up the stairs to the attic.’

Although dying is a bit of a taboo subject for most of us, the actress has faced her fear and knows how she wants to be remembered when she passes away.

She said: ‘I think I’d like my funeral to be a party really, for my friends. So I shall set aside some money for that.

‘I hope people will miss me and be sad that I’ve died because they won’t see me again. But they will be glad that they’ve known me I hope, and that’s what I want. That people will notice that I’m not there any more.’

She feels we struggle to discuss dying because there is ’embarrassment’ around the subject.

‘It’s a very deep human loathing of death,’ she explained. ‘I think we all have it and you can tell from literature and poetry that as long as people have reflected on life, they have feared death. It’s part of being alive, being scared of not being alive.’

Miriam is fronting a new documentary looking at how we talk about death, which she described as ‘personal therapy’ for helping her overcome her fears about death.

In the two-part series, she meets a 19-year-old who is battling cancer, and a group of people in the US who refuse to believe they will one day die.

Miriam’s Dead Good Adventure airs 21 April at 9 pm on BBC Two.

Game of Thrones fan proves Bronn will slaughter Tyrion Lannister in season 8 by looking at the deaths of Westeros’ biggest killers

Will Bronn kill Tyrion? (Picture: Hbo/Kobal/REX/Shutterstock)

*Warning: This articles contains spoilers for Game of Thrones season 8.

Game of Thrones season eight is just one episode down but suddenly all the pieces are already coming together including who die and who – if anyone – will make it out alive.

Winterfell saw Cersei Lannister (played by Lena Headey) start her plot to bump off her brothers Jaime (Nikoloaj Coster-Waldau) and Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) by summoning their best pal Bronn (Jerome Flynn) to do her dirty work and gifting him a crossbow.

Right now it seems implausible that Bronn would lay a finger on either the Lannister brothers but if we take a look back at some of the biggest killers from the past seven cycles and their eventual demises, his new weapon takes on a whole new meaning.

Reddit user HiImAbigail dropped this mother:

Game of Thrones theory

We hate to say it, but this makes a lot of sense and we’re bricking it for poor Tyrion.

#PrayforTyrion

The shocker comes after it was announced today that George RR Martin planned an icky love triangle beytween Tyrion, Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and his little sister, Ayra Stark (Maisie Williams).

Jon Snow and Arya Stark in Game of Thrones
This would have been weird (Picture: HBO)

And then Tyrion was set to throw his hat into the ring: ‘Exiled, Tyrion will change sides, making common cause with the surviving Starks to bring his brother down, and falling helplessly in love with Arya Stark while he’s at it.

‘His passion is, alas, un-reciprocated, but no less intense for that, and it will lead to a deadly rivalry between Tyrion and Jon Snow.’

Game of Thrones continues this Sunday at 9pm on HBO in the US and will be simulcast on Sky Atlantic. Seasons one to seven are available to stream on NOW TV.

Netflix has released the first trailer for Ava DuVernay’s miniseries When They See Us, which charts the trial and lives of the Central Park Five.

The four part series depicts the 1989 case where five teenagers, now labelled the Central Park Five, were wrongfully convicted of raping a woman, spending between six and 13 years in prison.

A convicted murderer and rapist later confessed to the crime in 2002, with DNA evidence confirming his guilt – resulting in the five men suing New York City in 2003 for malicious prosecution, racial discrimination and emotional distress.

The official synopsis for the series reads: ‘Based on a true story that gripped the country, When They See Us chronicles the notorious case of five teenagers of color, labelled the Central Park Five, who were convicted of a rape they did not commit.

‘The series focuses on the five teenagers from Harlem – Antron McCray, Kevin Richardson, Yusef Salaam, Raymond Santana and Korey Wise. Beginning in the spring of 1989, when the teenagers were first questioned about the incident, the series spans 25 years, highlighting their exoneration in 2002 and the settlement reached with the city of New York in 2014.’

The cast includes Michael K. Williams, Vera Farmiga, John Leguizamo, Felicity Huffman, Niecy Nash, Blair Underwood, Joshua Jackson, Adepero Oduye, Famke Janssen, Jharrel Jerome, Jovan Adepo, Dascha Polanco and Storm Reid.

Ava DuVernay is primarily known for directing feature films Selma, documentary 13th and fantasy flick A Wrinkle In Time, along with TV series Queen Sugar.

Stacey Solomon defends leaving her children in a car alone: ‘I watch them the entire time’

Stacey Solomon has defended leaving her children by themselves in the car, saying people should have more ’empathy’ for busy parents.

Loose Women were discussing when they have left their children alone ahead of the 12-year anniversary of Madeline McCann’s disappearance.

Stacey, who is mum to sons Zachary and Leighton, 11 and 6, explained that she left her sons on their own while she popped into a petrol station.

‘The reality is I’ve pulled up at the petrol station, put petrol in my car, locked the car, and walked into the garage. There’s a glass window all the way down to the till … I’m not leaving them because I don’t care.

‘I can run and watch them the entire time.’

Saira Khan admitted that she had left her children Zach, 10, and Amara, 6 in her locked car while she popped into a shop.

‘I don’t feel like a bad parent. I feel like a common sense parent,’ she said on Friday’s show, ‘Not getting them out and making them stand in the queue.’

Meanwhile Coleen said she had never left her children in the car because she had a ‘massive fear of it’.

‘It may only take me two minutes to go in and pay but it could take two minutes for someone to drive my car away or break in and take my kids.

‘Is it worth it? I have this scenario that if it ever ever happens, Ray would never forgive me if that was Kiera. Shane with the boys. That whole scenario plays out. So I never have, with petrol, or on holiday.’

Madeline McCann was three-years-old when she disappeared on 3 May, 2007 while on holiday with her family in Portugal. Her parents, Kate and Gerry, had gone for dinner near where they were staying.

Loose Women airs weekdays from 12.30pm on ITV.

The Chase invited two music legends onto the show in the latest episode. Sort of.

The ITV quiz show has a long history of ordering contestants to form famous names, with an episode last year seeing Peter Kay make his debut.

Now James, Taylor, Bob, and Dylan, have entered The Chase history by forming two music legends, James Taylor and Bob Dylan (in case it wasn’t obvious).

Shaun ‘The Dark Destroyer’ Wallace was quick to acknowledge the ordering, saying: ‘Oh by the way, I see we’ve got a musical theme today.

‘James Taylor, Bob Dylan, look at their names. Four musical legends.’

Slightly perplexed, host Bradley Walsh said: ‘When you say four musical legends, you mean two?’

‘No four,’ Wallace replied. ‘James Taylor, Bob Dylan, you, and yours truly.’
