What happened to Kunal Nayyar? The Big Bang Theory fans pining over Raj star after radio silence

It’s coming up to three months since The Big Bang Theory ended with Raj casually catching up with Buffy The Vampire Slayer Sarah Michelle Gellar, and almost two since we heard from the man behind the legend, Kunal Nayyar.

Back in June, the 38-year-old broke fans’ hearts when he confirmed he was taking a well-earned hiatus from the spotlight, abandoning social media altogether, forcing us to catch our Kunal fix through re-runs of TBBT.

During his sabbatical, travelling the four corners of the globe, alongside a picture of himself gazing out across the French coastline, Kunal told his 2.5 million Instagram followers: ‘Bon Jour! from the South of 🇫🇷. As I start my holiday I will be taking a break from social media for a while (I may stick around a day or two because your comments make me smile:)

‘Before I go, I wanted to leave you with this: I used to think that the opposite of fear was courage. But I realized that the opposite of fear is actually love. Love is the opposite of fear. So if you’re feeling anxious, or panicky, or fearful- just focus on being the most loving, compassionate, and empathetic human that lives inside of you.

‘Today when you are out and about- smile at a stranger, hold open the door for someone, help a friend or a loved one in need. Because when you become the epitome of love, when you truly become love itself, fear can no longer exist. I promise you this. With all my heart… good bye for now. #namaste.’

https://www.instagram.com/p/Byi5OrlAK4Y/

Beautiful words, for sure. But the fandom are getting impatient and have been crying out for Kunal’s return.

‘Come back please!’ cried one avid Big Bang boffin, which was swiftly echoed by: ‘Missing your posts.’

This particularly distraught fan sobbed: ‘Please coming back…we miss you.’

And his comments box is filled with posts pining for even the tiniest of signs of hello. However, Big Bang fans can celebrate the reunion they’ve all been waiting for as Kaley Cuoco and Johnny Galecki finally came together this week, after the Penny actress previously shattered dreams and revealed the cast hadn’t spoken to each other since the finale.

The Big Bang Theory is available to stream on Netflix.

Dr Pimple Popper removes huge bump from patient’s neck: ‘It’s like pulling cheese off a pizza’

Dr Pimple Popper is back at it and this time she’s helping a man who feels like ‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame’ due to a huge bump on his neck.

After suffering from the lump for more than 10 years, 51-year-old Paul decided enough is enough and sought the help of Dr Pimple Popper (Dr Sandra Lee).

‘About 10 years ago I started having sciatic nerve problems. When I got put on steroids to eliminate the pain, it made this thing [the lump] start growing,’ he explained.

‘My sciatic nerve problem finally went away and I quit steroids. But the lump is still growing and getting bigger and bigger. It was the size of a softball, and now it’s probably tripled in size.’

Recalling his struggles with the lump on the TLC show, he added: ‘I try to hide it as much as possible.

‘I used to wear t-shirts all the time, now I wear collared shirts all the time. Now it’s getting to the point where the collared shirts can’t hide it. So what’s my next step? Put a bag over my head?’

The lump led to name-calling, which Paul spoke about while getting emotional.

‘It rips apart your soul. You almost want to crawl under a rock,’ he explained.

After she’s helped someone get rid of ‘caterpillar cysts’ and removed 14oz lumps from a woman’s ears, clearly there was only one person for the job.

Chatting to Paul, Dr Lee wasn’t convinced that the lump was anything to do with his sciatic nerve problems and instead diagnosed him with a lipoma, which is much more common.

‘I feel like you have a head behind your head,’ she joked, before confirming her prediction.

However, it’s definitely not smooth sailing, as she added that it’s one of the most difficult she’s had to deal with.

Despite comparing the procedure to ‘pulling the cheese off the top of a pizza,’ she eventually managed to pull the last of the lipoma free – leaving Paul ecstatic.

‘She took a lump and turned it into a smile!’ he beamed.

The trailer for the third series of the one-of-a-kind show sees certified dermatologist Sandra back in her element, helping patients get rid of some extreme and unusual cases of skin and facial disorders at her clinic in California.

It seems that no condition is left untouched in the new installment, with one man requesting help with nodules so big on his nostril that they’re preventing him from breathing properly.

Meanwhile a young patient arrives with a large dark patch on his neck, explaining that he’s heard people screaming at him ‘poop neck’.

Truly, nothing is off-limits.

Dr Pimple Popper airs on Thursdays at 9pm on TLC.

Lord Of The Rings Amazon Prime TV series ‘will run for 20 episodes’

The Lord Of The Rings TV series is going to be pretty long (Picture: New Line Cinema)

The new Lord of the Rings TV series could reportedly run for 20 episodes.

The news is according to Tom Shippey, a scholar of J.R.R. Tolkien’s works who is acting as a consultant on the series.

He revealed that showrunners are still figuring out how the story arc on the fantasy series will play out.

Deutsche Tolkien quotes him saying in an interview: ‘There’s supposed to be 20 episodes for the first season. So until they’ve decided what the end is going to be, they can’t start filming.

‘The exact locations are of course uncertain and it could well be several.

‘The shooting itself does not take place chronologically, but is oriented towards the locations.’

The show has found a director in the form of J.A. Bayona, who has previously directed Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

The series will be written by JD Payne and Patrick McKay.

Orlando Bloom - Lord Of The Rings
Original Lord of the Rings star Orlando Bloom has already ruled himself out of starring in the TV series (Picture: New Line Cinema)

The mammoth Amazon series is set to start filming in August with Scotland and New Zealand among the rumoured filming locations.

The show is set to have one of the biggest budgets in television history, costing a whopping $1 billion (£710 million) which is 3.5 times more expensive than Peter Jackson’s film trilogy.

Casting around the show has yet to be announced, but if it’s set in the Second Age, it rules out the possibility of any original trilogy characters making a return.

However one of the original stars Orlando Bloom, who played the elf Legolas in the Peter Jackson’s original trilogy, recently ruled himself out.

He told Entertainment Tonight: ‘Look, I don’t know how they’re going to approach it. I haven’t had any conversations about that.’

‘I don’t know where I would fit in now in that world. If I think you’re saying [I’d come back] as Legolas, they probably got a 19-year-old kid,’ he later added.

‘I like to think of myself of ageless, but I’m not.’

Metro.co.uk has contacted Amazon for comment.

The Lord Of The Rings is expected to be released on Amazon in 2021.

Just a matter of weeks stand in the way of The Walking Dead season 10 and Fox has given us 10 fresh pics to celebrate.

Following the release of the trailer last month, it’s been announced that the zombie show is due to return to our television screens on Monday 7 October here in the UK – and to pique our interest, AMC will be revealing information on the hotly-anticipated installment every seven days.

The brand new snaps show a number of our fan-favourite characters back in action, including Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride)

Michonne (Danai Gurira), who is seen protecting Judith (Cailey Fleming) from danger in one photo, is set to leave the Alexandria following the exit of Andrew Lincoln’s Rick Grimes last season.

It’s also been confirmed that newcomer Dante is set to join The Walking Dead universe, with Lethal Weapon star Juan Javier Cardenas taking on the role.

The Walking Dead

‘Dante is rogue and fast-talking and will play a pivotal role in the story of Alexandria this season,’ teased the show’s bosses.

The upcoming series  is set to go forward in time once again, with the log line reading: ‘It is now Spring, a few months after the end of Season 9, when our group of survivors dared to cross into Whisperer territory during the harsh winter.

‘The collected communities are still dealing with the after effects of Alpha’s horrific display of power, reluctantly respecting the new borderlines being imposed on them, all while organizing themselves into a militia-style fighting force, preparing for a battle that may be unavoidable.

‘But the Whisperers are a threat unlike any they have ever faced. Backed by a massive horde of the dead it is seemingly a fight they cannot win.

‘The question of what to do and the fear it breeds will infect the communities and give rise to paranoia, propaganda, secret agendas, and infighting that will test them as individuals and as a society.

‘The very idea of whether civilization can survive in a world filled with the dead hangs in the balance.’

The Walking Dead season 10 launches Monday 7 October at 9pm on Fox.

Stranger Things star Gaten Matarazzo ‘begged’ Orange Is The New Black cast member for season 7 spoilers

It turns out that Stranger Things star Gaten Matarazzo is a pretty big fan of fellow Netflix show Orange Is The New Black – so much so that he tried asking a member of the cast for season seven spoilers.

The 16-year-old star, who defended his new show Prank Encounters after it was branded ‘disgusting’ by critics, tried getting Jackie Cruz to spill the tea ahead of its hotly-anticipated grande finale but all to no avail.

Speaking exclusively to Metro.co.uk, Jackie told us: ‘I’m friends Gaten, we have the same publicist. He’s a big fan of Orange Is The New Black.

‘He’s like, “You’ve got to tell me everything” and I’m like, “You know I can’t tell you anything.” It’s really cute. I feel like I’ve seen [the Stranger Things cast] all grow up at all the Netflix events so they’re my like little cousins.’

Jackie recently attended the Stranger Things premiere, sparking speculation that she could be making a cameo in some shape or form.

The actress, who plays Marisol ‘Flaca’ Gonzales in Orange, hasn’t bagged a part just yet but is completely up for it should the opportunity come knocking.

‘I would love that,’ Jackie enthused. ‘I would totally fit in. I love the look, the hair, I love everything about it. It’s something different. That would be dope. I’m a big fan of Stranger Things.’

Talking to us about her time on Orange in line with her campaign with Schick Hydro Silk called Feelin’ Myself Island, Jackie admitted that Flaca taught her how to be confident in her own skin.

‘I was really insecure when I just got into Orange,’ she said. ‘That was my big break and I was playing with heavy hitters you know, Kate Mulgrew, we had Natasha Lyonne and Laura Prepon. It felt unreal but I needed to bring my A game.’

Orange Is The New Black's Flaca

Jackie continued: ‘My character obviously says what’s on her mind and she tries to find a positive in everything negative. She doesn’t really care what people think she’s always trying to make herself feel better whether it’s through makeup or doing silly things – making something out of nothing.

‘I always appreciated Flaca being so confident at such a young age. She wanted an empire back in high school and that’s how I feel now.

‘Playing that character helped my confidence and my hair has become shorter throughout the years because my hair was something that was really important to Hollywood and my Latin family.

‘It was almost like shedding my skin in a way, I wanted to remove that and feel beautiful for just me. I’m just ready to like be free and let people into who I am.’

Orange Is The New Black and Stranger Things are both available to stream on Netflix.

Love Island’s Jack Fincham has admitted he ‘rushed’ his relationship with Dani Dyer after the pair moved in together straight away.

Now, he’s looking for love again.

The former pen salesman, who’s currently looking for love on Celebs Go Dating, admitted that things just didn’t work between the pair after they left the villa.

‘We just sort of clicked personality wise,’ he recalled. ‘We spent everyday together for two months, that’s intense.’

However, while the 28-year-old said that things were brilliant while they were in the villa, he added: ‘When we lived together, [it was like] “Alright, why have you done that?”

‘We rushed it, moved in together straight away,’ he admitted. ‘If we were on Love Island forever, it would have been alright.’

However, despite the hosts pressing him on whether he wanted to move in so quickly, he revealed he did at the time.

However, the pair called time on their relationship in April of this year, shocking fans.

As the final couple from the 2018 series to end things, they confirmed their split on Instagram.

Since, Jack revealed he’s been slightly unlucky in love, while Dani has been dating Sammy Kimmence.

In fact, the star recently proved trolls wrong as she packed on the PDA with her beau.

Defending her relationship recently, the 23-year-old took to Instagram to face the nay-sayers.

She told her 3.5million followers: ‘I’m not going to delete anyone’s comments. You all can say what you want to say honestly we live in a free world. But I’m so f happy.

‘I ain’t living a life to prove people or to fake to people I am something I am not I’ve always been real. Some people like it some people don’t. I’m focusing on number one.’

Shocking moment Ross Kemp tries to hand deadly knives over to police but stations won’t accept

Viewers were left horrified as Ross Kemp had to visit three different police stations in one night in a desperate attempt to get dangerous knives off the streets.

The former EastEnders star highlighted the complex mix of issues which have led to the nation’s knife crime epidemic in his hard-hitting documentary, Living With Knife Crime, which aired on ITV.

And viewers were left aghast as the former hardman and a volunteer were forced to bounce around police stations while attempting to get two large knives off the streets and into police custody.

Ross revealed that one of the stations had already closed for the night because it was, in fact, run by volunteers, while there was a two hour wait to be seen at the other.

As the pair made their way to a third station, they were told by the Public Access Officer at the desk that it wouldn’t be possible to leave their knives to that station as there wasn’t any officers on duty to take possession of the blades.

He then suggested the duo should travel out to another station miles away, to which Ross argued that it would surely be safer to leave the knives in a police station as opposed to driving around with them.

Thankfully, the officer eventually took the huge knives from the men. But viewers watching at home were furious about the interaction.

‘OMG, Ross Kemp on knife crime, horrific service from London police – when police station UNABLE to accept surrendered knives and send surrenderer to a station MILES AWAY because station is manned by VOLUNTEERS, it’s time to take a close look at themselves! [sic]’ one viewer tweeted.

‘Doesn’t it beggar belief that having collected seriously dangerous knives off the street – police stations are not able to receive them – the knife amnesty bins are closed and so was one police station – no wonder there are all these instances of knife crime [sic],’ another wrote.

‘Being turned away from a Police Station handing in two knifes! Madness, wake up!’ a horrified viewer stated.

‘Pathetic! That boy is actively removing knives from the streets and the POLICE station were ‘not sure’ if they could take it off him!!!’ another commented.

‘A Police station ran by volunteers?! Jesus Christ that’s a shambles,’ one tweeted.

‘Probably only agreed to take them, because the cameras and Ross were there,’ one viewers argued,

‘Police station in disarray. One closed staffed by volunteers. Knife amnesty box taped shut. Clearly police cuts having an effect. Govt need to wake up,’ another added.

Viewers were appalled to see the types of weapons being carried around by youths

‘Can’t even hand in knives to a police station ? They won’t take them, what the hell is going on in London ? Disgrace!’ one wrote.

In London, the murder toll hit a 10-year high in 2018 with 132 people killed. So far this year, 86 murder probes have been launched in the capital.

Amber Gill ‘set for Dancing On Ice’ 2020 after incredible Love Island win

Love Island winner Amber Gill has reportedly landed a spot on the upcoming series of Dancing On Ice.

The 21-year-old reality star, who radiated sunshine as she gushed about her new beau Greg O’Shea on This Morning earlier this week, is said to be skating for gold when the ITV competition returns in early 2020.

‘The Dancing On Ice casting team are delighted with the decision to snap up Amber,’ a source spilled.

‘Love Island contestants always do really well on the series as they are still fresh in everyone’s minds.’

An insider continued to The Sun: ‘Amber is a stunning girl and they know she’ll look fabulous in all the sequinned costumes. She has a gutsy personality, too, so will make excellent viewing.’

Metro.co.uk has contacted Amber’s reps and ITV for comment.

The 12th series of Dancing On Ice was confirmed during the final of this year’s offering, which saw former Strictly Come Dancing professional James Jordan take the crown.

While the official line-up is yet to be confirmed it’s likely that names for the show, which is presented by Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, will start to be announced around October.

Just yesterday it was reported that bosses are ‘trying to replace judge Jason Gardiner to avoid a bullying row’.

Jason is known for his brutally honest feedback and clashed with Towie star Gemma Collins on the series earlier this year.

According to The Sun, show bosses are worried about his put-downs upsetting the celebrity contestants, especially in the wake of The Jeremy Kyle Show being axed.

‘Bosses have become concerned in light of the axing of The Jeremy Kyle Show, that contestants could have a cause for complaint,’ an insider said.

‘After the rows with Gemma last year, producers started to make quiet inquiries about potential replacements.’

Fake or Fortune ‘masterpiece’ valued at £50,000 turns out to be worthless

A painting thought to be an original work by master of modern European art, Giorgio de Chirico – valued at an estimated £50,000 – is confirmed to be worthless following an investigation by BBC One’s Fake or Fortune?

In tonight’s episode, Fiona Bruce and Philip Mould discovered the soul-crushing truth behind what could have been one of the best bargains in the history of Fake or Fortune – a still life painting of fruit ‘in the style of de Chirico’ bought in a bric-a-brac shop in Hampshire over 30 years ago for just £1.

Their investigation took the team to Italy, where, in a Fake or Fortune first they used cutting edge testing in a nuclear laboratory in Florence to try and authenticate the painting.

The painting belongs to Bob Kay who has always wondered about the mystery behind the masterpiece after experts at Christie’s advised him to submit the picture to the de Chirico Foundation over 20 years ago.

However, the result came back negative – while most of the committee thought it could be authentic, one person considered it to be a fake.

In a dramatic investigation, the team attempted to overturn this decision with new evidence.

In the gallery, Bob and his wife Vanessa nervously awaited the verdict but Fiona’s face fell as she read the letter that team failed to overturn the decision despite the compelling evidence and The Foundation concluded that it is simply not good enough to be an original de Chirico.

Philip concluded that the picture was quite possibly painted by someone who was close to de Chirico.

He said: ‘The composition, the way the fruit is organised, and the date of the picture. It all indicates someone who knew de Chirico, who worked closely with him, even if it wasn’t the master himself.”’

Unfortunately, that doesn’t make it any more valuable and Bob’s one pound picture remains just that.

Megan Barton-Hanson has broken down in tears talking about her former relationship, describing her ex ‘sexting another Love Island contestant’ during their relationship.

Megan and Wes Nelson starred on last year’s Love Island and left the villa a seemingly strong couple, but split in January.

She’s now looking for love on Celebs Go Dating – but that’s not come without detailing their relationship.

Speaking to dating agency coaches Paul Carrick Brunson and Anna Williamson, the 25-year-old – who is thought to be currently dating Demi Sims – recalled the moment she confronted her ex about the messages.

In the video obtained my MailOnline of Megan detailing her sadness on the E4 dating show she said she ‘wanted to come out with someone to travel with’, alluding to her time on the ITV2 reality show.

‘I thought we had this future like he spoke to me about kids and marriage and it came on the radio that he was sexting another Love Island contestant,’ Megan said.

‘He said they weren’t sexting they were talking about cuddling but I just feel completely stupid and betrayed.’

After saying ‘cracks started to appear’ in their relationship she began to cry.

Wiping away tears, she said of having her split play out in front of the media and fans: ‘It’s just embarrassing, like in front of everyone.

‘I just wanted to find someone to come out and travel with and live with and make memories with so it’s just a bit s**t.’

Speaking recently about her love life on Loose Women, Megan hinted things were going well for her.

While she wouldn’t be drawn on whether or not she was dating Demi, she said: ‘It’s gone really, really well. I’m dating someone from the show.

‘I’ve dated both men and women on the show.’

Celebs Go Dating’s Jack Fincham pies date by setting her up with waiter in awkward scene

Celebs Go Dating's Jack Fincham
Jack had a ‘dating disaster’ (Pictures: E4)

Celebs Go Dating’s Jack Fincham had the ultimate’ dating disaster’ when he inexplicably attempting to set his date up with the waiter.

Yeah, we’re not sure either.

The Love Island star, who spoke earlier in the episode about his past relationship with Dani Dyer, started things by asking his date Chiara about her tattoos.

After she told him she had one which says ‘Everything happens for a reason,’ she gave the example of their date hypothetically not going well and the waiter instead asking her for a drink.

Without missing a beat, Jack went into wingman mode and attempted to make things work with her and the poor bartender.

Calling him over, he said ‘This is Chiara,’ and, upon realising they were both from Italy, he added: ‘Well that makes a lot of f***ing sense.’

With Chiara attempting to be polite, she told the bartender in Italian: ‘He’s trying to embarrass me so I will let you carry on working.’

Undeterred, the 28-year-old told the waiter: ‘She said she was attracted to you so…’ before Chiara interjected: ‘He’s trying to embarrass me so carry on working.’

Clearly a little puzzled by the experience, Chiara went on to tell Jack: ‘I want to be on a date with you,’ before he bluntly told her: ‘I don’t wanna be on [this date] anymore.’

Jack Fincham
Things got a bit intense (Picture: E4)

Someone please get them both out of there immediately, this is too awkward to handle.

Later on, when the pair were assessing the date, Jack went on to make things all the more awkward by blaming everything on Chiara.

‘I think it got a bit weird at one point…you made it weird,’ he reflected. ‘I think we’re better drawing a line under it tonight.’

‘That’s the first dating disaster I’ve had,’ he later told the camera. ‘The first date where I’ve thought “F*** that.”’

We’re pretty sure she wasn’t too keen either by the end of it.

Fans were utterly baffled by the whole thing, with one writing on Twitter: ‘Nah did that Jack really jus do that, and got the cheek to blame it all on her liberties #comeoffthegearmate.’

‘As a masterclass in how to screw up a seriously promising date, Jack is way ahead of the field,’ another added.

Meanwhile, one more summed things up by adding: ‘Im not entirely sure what just happened on Jack’s date.’

Us neither.

Elsewhere on the episode, things got emotional when Megan Barton-Hanson revealed she and Wes Nelson had chatted about marriage and babies before their split back in January.

‘I thought we had this future like he spoke to me about kids and marriage and it came on the radio that he was sexting another Love Island contestant,’ Megan said.

‘He said they weren’t sexting they were talking about cuddling but I just feel completely stupid and betrayed.’

Celebs Go Dating continues weeknights at 9pm on E4.

Gwyneth Paltrow is a mother on a mission in these first look images of Ryan Murphy’s new Netflix drama, The Politician.

Gwynnie stars as an ultra-privileged mother striving to secure her son a place at Harvard in the series; her character is loosely based on an Ivanka Trump-esque character whose son, Payton Hobart, is determined to become President of the United States no matter what.

Ryan has previously enjoyed hits with Glee and American Horror Story, and is now making a foray into the realm of high school politics with the eight-part series.

In another picture, Gwyneth, wearing a green dress and gold drop earrings, smiles sweetly across a table at Ben Platt, who plays her son, while other images show Ben, 25, as high-flying student Payton Hobart, dressed in a tight-fitting white turtleneck and black rimmed glasses, and sat in the school library.

Ryan created the show alongside Paltrow’s husband Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan.

It follows Payton, from Santa Barbara, California, who has plotted his journey to becoming the President of the United States.

However, first he will have to navigate the treacherous political landscape of Saint Sebastian High School and be elected student body president.

The series will also star Zoey Deutch, Lucy Boynton, Bob Balaban, David Corenswet, Julia Schlaepfer, Laura Dreyfuss, Theo Germaine, Rahne Jones and Benjamin Barrett.

Although a drama, it aims to satirise the 1% and the lengths they often go to in order to stay on top.

There are also references to the college cheating scandal, which the show predicted as it was written and filmed before the fallout.

The Politician drops on Netflix later in August.

Peaky Blinders’ Helen McCrory almost quit playing Polly ahead of season 5

You can’t get rid of Aunt Polly that easily… (Picture: BBC)

Helen McCrory has admitted that she’s considered leaving Peaky Blinders behind as fans get ready to catch up with the family in season five.

Peaky Blinders and the Shelby Boys just wouldn’t have lasted this long if it wasn’t for their beloved Aunt Polly keeping them in check.

The unofficial organiser of the operation, the character, played by Helen, manages to knock down Cillian Murphy’s leading man Tommy down a peg or two better than any other.

Earning the respect of Birmingham South, she is definitely one not to be messed with and is one of the show’s leading iconic characters – but there was a fleeting moment she almost bowed out early.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk and other publications, Helen admitted that she has considered putting Aunt Pol’s ever-present cigarette down for good.

She said: ‘I have had a weekend of considering just this, with a wonderful, wonderful offer of another thing, with someone I think is one of the most talented people.

‘I said no, and came back to this, because I feel it’s given me so much, and I think that you behave well in some things and see it through to the end if somebody wants you to.’

‘You don’t just go “thank you” [and leave],’ she added. ‘Also I want to see it through to the end.’

When asked what she thought the boys would do without her, Helen joked: ‘I think Tommy would just snort himself to death and Arthur would be found in some opium den.’

The lasting legacy of the troubled period gangster drama is one of the most beloved series the BBC has released this decade – earning a festival in its honour in their hometown of Birmingham later this year.

Helen admitted that despite appearing as Narcissa Malfoy in Harry Potter, one of the biggest franchises the UK has ever created, Peaky Blinders still beats it – so why would she want to leave?

She told us: ‘I’ve never…. I have friends who are actors, I’m married to an actor, I’m used to people saying “oh I’ve liked this” I’ve never had anything that’s had the Peaky Blinders effect. It’s bigger than Harry Potter. For me.’

‘A lot of people just go “my son got me into you!”,’ the actress continued. ‘Mainly in black cabs, which is where I spend a lot of my time. It’s quite a broad demographic.’

‘People genuinely really enjoy it, and that’s really hard to do, otherwise every single f***ing job I’ve ever done would be like that, because you obviously always hope it’s going to be like that.

‘But to really get it all to work, and also for it to get stronger…’

Peaky Blinders starts 25 August at 9pm on BBC One.

Peaky Blinders season 5 launch date finally confirmed as Tommy Shelby faces new threats

Peaky Blinders season five will be landing on our television screen later this month, so clear your diaries and make all the calendar alerts.

The Cillian Murphy drama is due to air the first episode of its hotly-anticipated new season on Sunday 25th August at 9pm on BBC One.

An epic trailer was revealed just last week, following the star-studded premiere in Birmingham, showing Tommy Shelby and the gang hanging about in Westminster, explosions in a field and an unsettling performance from new cast member Sam Clafin.

The synopsis teases: ‘Series five of Steven Knight’s crime family saga finds the world thrown into turmoil by the financial crash of 1929.

‘Opportunity and misfortune are everywhere. When Tommy Shelby MP is approached by a charismatic politician with a bold vision for Britain, he realises that his response will affect not just his family’s future but that of the entire nation.’

Show creator Steven Knight previously spoke to Metro.co.uk about the forthcoming season, teasing how it’ll kick off with the 1929 Wall Street Crash and the beginning of the Great Depression.

‘Tommy’s a politician so he bumps against some of the dark forces that were around politically at the time,’ Knight said.

‘Europe is changing, things are happening, and we wanted to put Tommy at the heart of that which was just beginning at the start of the 30s.

‘The thing with Peaky, it changes and it stays the same, the elementals I don’t mess with. It’s in Birmingham, they’re gangsters, they do what they do, nothing is going to change them.

‘They will be redeemed at some point, but that’s who they are, that’s what they do. And for Tommy becoming an MP is just another way of attaining and exercising power, and he does it in the same way Tommy always has.’

Peaky Blinders season five will premiere on Sunday 25th August at 9pm on BBC One.

Shadowhunters alum Alberto Rosende to star in Chicago Fire and we’re buzzing

Shadowhunters star Alberto Rosende is going to star in the upcoming eighth season of Chicago Fire and we can’t wait.

The 26-year-old, who stole our hearts playing Simon Lewis on Shadowhunters, will play firefighter Blake Gallo in the NBC drama.

Blake is a guy who loves his job and joins Firehouse 51 as the Chicago Fire Deparment expands the number of firefighters on second shift, according to Deadline.

He impresses Casey (Jesse Spencer, Herrmann (David Eigenberg) and Severide (Taylor Kinney) with his bundles of enthusiasm and they take him under his wing.

Tbh, we don’t care what Alberto plays, as long as we get to see him onscreen again.

Shadowhunters ended last year and broke all our hearts (Picture: Freeform)

Chicago Fire follows the lives of the firefighters, rescue squad and paramedics of Chicago Firehouse 51 who risk their lives every day to protect people.

It’s a tiny bit different to supernatural drama Shadowhunters, which ended last year after three seasons and left us all devastated.

As the Freeform drama came to a close, Alberto penned an adorable tribute to the show which he likened to an ‘odyssey’.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BmEfCkCHNFT/

He wrote: ‘As I sit here and attempt to process the past 3 years, 3 seasons, 55 episodes, 400+ days of work (don’t trust my math here), I can’t help but become inundated with emotions and memories.

‘Our time over the past 3 Seasons can be considered an odyssey but now looking back it feels more like a dream.’

Shadowhunters was cancelled in June 2018 – despite a massive fan campaign to save the show that even reached buses in London – not to mention a change.org petition and frankly, we’re still grieving.

Love Island’s Molly-Mae Hague ditches Tommy Fury for glam night on the town

She enjoyed a fancy dinner with Tommy Fury on Wednesday, but Molly-Mae Hague left her boxer boyfriend at home a day later for a good old night on the town.

The Love Island star scrubbed up pretty darn well while attending the Bloomsbury Street Kitchen launch in London on Thursday evening.

The 20-year-old influencer rocked snakeskin in a way we could never dream of, donning a pink crop top and matching high-waisted trousers.

God, we love a co-ord.

Molly-Mae finished off the whole look with a pair of Perspex heels and gem drop earrings and now we feel like absolute slobs in comparison.

The reality star was clearly chuffed with her outfit and shared a snap of her look on Instagram, writing simply, ‘Tonight,’ because did you even go out if you didn’t document it on social media?

Her night out comes after she indulged in a bit of gentle rinsing of Tommy, whose look of utter devastation when he dropped mac and cheese on his fancy shoes made our day.

The pair were enjoying a little time to themselves while feasting on food at STK in London on Wednesday, when Tommy got a bit overexcited with his meal.

Despite being front-runners to win Love Island, Molly-Mae and Tommy were pipped to the post by Amber Gill and Greg O’Shea – who were crowned the champions and scooped the £50,000 cash prize.

Since leaving the villa, Molly has found herself feuding with her boyfriend’s close pal Anton Danyluk, after he admitted to unfollowing her on Instagram.

One word. Awkward.

Curtis Pritchard’s been a busy boy since leaving Love Island – he’s only gone and got himself a job on The Greatest Dancer.

The professional ballroom dancer will take on the role of receptionist in the dance competition when it returns to TV screens next year.

The 23-year-old’s beaming face is the first thing contestants will see when they get to the studios for their audition and he’ll be the one to ‘build them up and have fun with them’.

Curtis announced the exciting news on The Scott Mills Show on BBC Radio 1 on Thursday, and said he was ‘honoured’ to get the job.

‘Early next year, I am going to be on The Greatest Dancer, and I’m going to be taking on the receptionist role,’ he said.

The dancer, who also has a role lined up in RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, added: ‘I’m there to build them up and have fun with them.’

During the chat, Scott also asked Curtis if he’d like to be a Strictly Come Dancing pro and was met with the perfect cryptic response.

‘Who knows what the future holds,’ Pritchard said mysteriously.

He went on to add: ‘Well it would be great to work with AJ. […] The Cliftons, Mabuses, it was a family show but now it’s becoming a VERY family show’.

Curtis, who is currently still with his Love Island partner Maura Higgins, recently made headlines with his open-minded take on sexuality.

The Dancing With The Stars alum told The Sun that he would be open to a same-sex relationship, saying: ‘I’ve been with women and I’m with a woman now.

‘You can never put a label on anything.’

By order of the Peaky Blinders, season five is going to be the most violent yet. In fact, Helen McCrory could barely watch it.

The actress, who plays the Shelby Brothers’ beloved Aunt Polly in the series, admitted that she found the upcoming episodes ‘disgustingly violent’ – which is going to be saying something considering the leading men are gouging eyes out with razor blades.

Speaking about what’s to come, Helen warned of what was to come in the upcoming episodes – and said that people shouldn’t be using it as a sign to encourage violence.

‘I’ve only seen episode one, and there’s a whole bit… We saw the screening in Birmingham, for fans who managed to get lottery tickets,’ she said.

‘I look away from the screen. I, as Helen, can’t watch it. I think it’s disgusting, gratuitous violence. It is… no, not gratuitous – disgustingly violent.’

‘But it is. And it should be,’ she continued. ‘I think it’s much more disturbing than somebody slashes somebody’s face or somebody shoots somebody and it’s all just the end of it.’

The actress later added: ‘It is not a natural state of affairs. And anybody who looks at the violence of Peaky Blinders and thinks: ‘That exactly is what I want to do’. I mean, sick.’

Speaking to Metro.co.uk ahead of the show being aired, Helen admitted that she had a fleeting thought about quitting the series and the world of the Birmingham gangsters.

When asked what she thought the boys would do without her, Helen joked: ‘I think Tommy would just snort himself to death and Arthur would be found in some opium den.’

Big Bang Theory’s Chuck Lorre wants new show to school viewers on how immigrants make America great

Big Bang Theory’s Chuck Lorre is taking aim at Donald Trump’s ‘Make America Great Again’ slogan and rebranding it himself to praise immigrants.

The producer, who also created shows such as Two and a Half Men and Mom, is launching a series based on a love story involving a Nigerian immigrant nurse in Bob Hearts Abishola.

Partnering with Nigerian-British comedian Gina Yashere to write the series, Chuck announced his plans for the show by wearing an IMAG hat – hitting back at the bright red ‘MAGA’ hats that Trump supporters are often seen with.

Wearing his in a bright yellow, he later revealed that IMAG means ‘Immigrants Make America Great’, and he hopes to get through to viewers about the beauty of having immigrants in the country.

Speaking at the Television Critics Association, Chuck said: ‘This show, on the surface, looks like a romantic comedy, but I’ve done that and I didn’t want to do it again.

‘It is our entrance point to the series, these two very different people meeting and finding, over a very slow process, a relationship.’

Bob Hearts Abishola panel in the US

‘But the story I wanted to tell is about the greatness of first-generation immigrants … the hard work, the rigorous honesty that goes with coming here and grabbing hold of the American dream,’ he added.

The show will follow the life of Detroit sock salesman Bob, who suffers a heart attack and then while in recovery falls in love with his Nigerian immigrant cardiac nurse, Abishola, played by Folake Olowofoyeku.

Billy Gardell, who worked with Chuck on sitcom Mike and Molly, will be playing the recovering businessman.

Gina Yashere, who most would know for her Live At the Apollo and Mock the Week stints, has been brought on board to help him create an authentic representation of a Nigerian immigrant.

‘It’s not a political show,’ the writer insisted.

‘It’s an homage of what we’ve been through, what our ancestors have been through, which is coming here and somehow finding a foothold and making a life for ourselves and for our children, and descendants.’

Bob Hearts Abishola will be released on CBS later this year in the US.

Love Island’s Anna Vakili has revealed she will be friends with ‘almost everyone’ from the villa and we have so many questions.

The pharmacist had a rollercoaster time of it in the villa, following her very brief relationship with Jordan Hames coming to a brutal end.

And in a telling Instagram Q&A session with sister Mandi, the 29-year-old revealed there is someone on the ITV2 dating show she has absolutely no more time for.

‘I’ll be friends with almost everyone in the villa,’ the Sun reports she said, in response to a query about toxic friendships.

‘If your friendship is toxic then you should cut it out because you don’t need that in your life.

‘Friends are meant to uplift you and be there for you.

Love Island's Anna Vakili and Jordan Hames

‘You’re meant to have fun together and cry together and be there for each other.’

Anna’s words come after she sparked speculation she wasn’t on the best terms with Molly-Mae Hague, by liking a string of memes mocking Ellie-Belly.

Ermmmm, what has that toy elephant ever done to you, hun?

During the Love Island Aftersun reunion, some social media users were left baffled by Anna’s lack of screentime, joking the Molly-Mae’s teddy got more attention than her.

And Amber Gill’s best friend amped up the drama by liking a bunch of the posts.

Love Island's Molly-Mae Hague

She isn’t the only castmate who has appeared to throw shade at the 19-year-old, with Anton Danyluk unfollowing her on social media.

He made things even more awkward by refusing to refollow her when questioned about his antics at the reunion, leaving a baffled Molly-Mae to admit she was shocked by the snub.

Boyfriend Tommy Fury later branded the whole thing ‘childish’, in an appearance on Capital Breakfast.

Side note: Michael Griffiths has really ruined that word for us.

Discussing Anton’s behaviour, he told the host: ‘‘I think there was just a little bit of tension, you know, purely off what Anton said and about all the unfollowing stuff and all that…

‘It really is… I think it’s a bit childish because we’re all good friends here and there’s no need for any bad blood and on mine and Molly’s part, there’s no bad blood, we wish him all the best.’

When asked about the gym owner’s claims that he barely spoke to the Instagram influencer, Tommy added: ‘I honestly couldn’t see it, I thought them two were friends because obviously we’ve been on this whole experience together so I thought everybody would be friends.’

So. Much. Drama.
