Netflix is releasing an Elvis Presley animated spy series (Picture: Netflix)
Netflix has ordered an animated spy series with Elvis Presley at the helm.
Agent King follows the King of Rock n Roll as he lives out his day job as a famous singer before transforming into an undercover agent who tackles dark forces that threaten America at night.
The series, which sees Priscilla Presley and John Eddie serving as co-creators and executive producers, was confirmed by the streaming giant on the 42nd anniversary of Elvis’ death on 16 August 1977.
‘From the time Elvis was a young boy he always dreamed of being the superhero fighting crime and saving the world,’ Elvis’ widower Priscilla said. ‘Agent King lets him do just that.’
She continued to The Hollywood Reporter: ‘My co-creator John Eddie and I are so excited to be working with Netflix and Sony Animation on this amazing project and getting the chance to show the world an Elvis they haven’t seen before.’

Austin Butler will be starring in the hit as the iconic musician, after beating the likes of Harry Styles, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Miles Teller to the role.
The movie will be filmed in Queensland, Australia, and will follow Elvis’s journey from his poor childhood to being a global superstar, as well as his relationship with manager Colonel Tom Parker, played by Tom Hanks.
The story will cover two decades of the Jailhouse Rock hitmaker’s life, including his rise to unprecedented fame and the ‘evolving cultural landscape and loss of innocence’ in America.
Chatting to Deadline, Baz said: ‘I knew I couldn’t make this film if the casting wasn’t absolutely right.
‘We searched thoroughly for an actor with the ability to evoke the singular natural movement and vocal qualities of this peerless star, but also the inner vulnerability of the artist.’

Jason Watkins accidentally killed his cat in a ‘bizarre’ accident (Picture: Getty)
The Crown star Jason Watkins killed his cat in a ‘bizarre’ accident when he jumped on it while celebrating.
The actor, 53, has got the good news that he had landed a place at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, or RADA for short.
But sadly his celebration was marred by tragedy as he jumped in the air in happiness.
He told The Mirror: ‘That actually happened. When I got acceptance letter from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, I was playing a lot of football at the time and I jumped in the air with delight and landed on my cat and killed it.
‘I am sorry about that. I know it’s bleak and sometimes people laugh and some are shocked.
‘It was a bizarre thing to happen. Poor thing. We buried him in the garden after. It was a weird day because it was a fabulous moment in my life and also the worst.’
Jason, who has previously had major roles in Sherlock and Line Of Duty, will join Olivia Colman and Helena Bonham Carter in the third season for The Crown, which details the life of the current queen Elizabeth II.
Jason will play Prime Minister Harold Wilson, who is set to ruffle some feathers in Buckingham Palace.
The actor added that he landed the role because ‘I’m short, slightly round and fair-ish’.
‘I’m the right age as well to fit into the current cast,’ Jason said. ‘Like a lot of the other actors I went through an intense period of screen testing.’
Colman is taking over the role from Claire Foy as Queen Elizabeth II, while Bonham Carter is playing Princess Margaret.
A recently released trailer for the Netflix show confirmed the season three start date as 17 November.

Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight has Tommy Shelby’s ending in mind (Picture: BBC)
Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight has Tommy Shelby’s last episode already mapped out.
Not that fans of the Birmingham-set drama want it to end, but we’re dying to see where Tommy (Cillian Murphy) and his family of gangsters end up.
Thankfully the last season is way off, but not for creator and writer Steven who has a vision for how things are going to turn out for Tommy.
He told Radio Times: ‘When I write, it’s a bit like dreaming. I just start writing a scene, and I let the characters start talking to each other.
‘Sometimes I read back what I’ve written and think, “Oh, that’s what he’s doing…”.
‘But I do have something in mind for Tommy in series seven, episode six. But I also have the freedom to get there any way I want.
‘I can take the scenic byways, the tourist route…’
Please take the longest journey possible!
He also recently spoke out in defence of the graphic violence on the BBC drama after Helen McCrory called it ‘disgusting’.
‘It’s about gangsters so inevitably there are depictions of violence,’ said Steven.
‘But I always try to show the consequences of that violence, rather than the characters dusting themselves off and they’re fine again.’
Steven also argues that it is ‘important’ to display such violent acts in the series and the consequences such violence will have on the show’s characters.
In a new interview with The Mirror, he said: ‘The worst sort of violence is when it is depicted without consequences as if it is just easy.’
Peaky Blinders returns 25 August on BBC One.

MotherFatherSon was never going to continue after series one (Picture: BBC)
BBC drama MotherFatherSon won’t be returning for a second series it has been confirmed.
The eight-part show, with Richard Gere at the helm, aired earlier this year but will not be coming back to our television screens with Metro.co.uk understanding that another instalment by Tom Rob Smith was never intended.
This news quashes claims made by Daily Star that the drama had been axed due to low viewing figures.
‘MotherFatherSon had everything – an acting legend, a great script and thrilling plots – but for some reason it didn’t get the audience it was expected to get,’ a television insider told the publication.
‘Its writer, Tom Rob Smith, had initially planned for the show to only run for one series, so this isn’t entirely unexpected.’
The source continued: ‘He did finish the first series on a bit of a cliffhanger so the option was there but now viewers will never know what happens next.’
MotherFatherSon averaged 2million viewers and had a 103% series average uplift from overnights to its consolidated total, which factors in PVR and catch-up viewing via the TV set across seven days.
It was also BBC Two’s top programme on BBC iPlayer across the two-month run.
The thriller followed media mogul Max (Gere) who comes to London while the UK geared up for another ruthless general election, as two rival parties lead by the Prime Minister (Danny Sapani) and the opposition leader, Angela Howard (Sarah Lancashire) pleaded for the billionaire’s backing.
But beneath the crux of the political battlefield, Max’s desperately troubled son Caden (Billy Howe), who had taken over his father’s British newspaper The National Reporter, and his ex-wife Kathryn (Helen McCrory) created a bigger storm.
‘It makes my life a lot easier if you get Richard Gere because my job is to get that authentic character, who you don’t go, “Oh, he’s playing bigger than he really is,”’ explained James.
‘When you have Richard Gere, who brings the legacy with him but is also truly a great man of presence on screen, there’s no doubt he couldn’t be a Max.
‘It was well worth the struggle and it took a long time, but he wanted to be sure. As an actor you put your faith in the production team and a director and Richard spoke to me about being things that just didn’t deliver.
‘So he was quite cautious, he didn’t need to do this but he loved the scripts.’
MotherFatherSon is available to watch on catch-up on BBC iPlayer.

Former Strictly Come Dancing contestant Danny John-Jules encouraged Mike Bushell to sign up for this year’s series despite being embroiled in behind-the-scenes drama
‘The thing about Mike, we had to have that conversation,’ Danny told us in a sitdown interview. ‘You wouldn’t be classed as a friend, you’d be bullcr*pping basically.
‘Funnily enough, we had the conversation at his wedding. Obviously, he’s not gonna not say that he’s doing it and have me find out in the press, because that’s silly.
‘Before he actually signed, he was like, “What’s it like? Did you have a good time?” And I said to him, “Mike, do it. It’s a great experience. The dancing and all of that, the performance, on the night, the cheering, that’s showbiz. The rest of it you can keep.”‘
Mike Bushell is competing in this year’s Strictly (Picture: WireImage)
Danny told us that he thinks the show will be a walk in the park for Mike too.
‘The physical side of Strictly is going to be easy for Mike Bushell because he’s into sports,’ he continued. ‘Mike has done much harder things than Strictly if you look at what he’s done in those little clips that he’s done in sports.
‘For me, Mike is the perfect competitor because what you’re gonna get with Mike is 110%. He’s going to go at it 110% and that’s all that you can ask from the man.’
Danny appeared on the BBC series last yaer (Picture: Rex)
Danny, who’s gearing up to play Sammy Davis Jr in his one-man show I’ve Gotta Be Me, added that although he’ll be supporting Mike, he won’t be tuning in to watch him.
‘If I mention anything about the show it will be taken the wrong way,’ he said. ‘If I say something negative, they’ll say it’s because I’m bitter.’
Mike was the sixth celebrity announced to be joining this year’s series of Strictly and will be competing against the likes of Jamie Laing and David James in a star-studded line-up.
‘I am so excited to be joining this year’s Strictly Come Dancing,’ he said. ‘I’ve heard so many wonderful things from colleagues over the years so thrilled I’m now getting the chance.
‘I know I will completely throw myself into the whole experience and I’m sure will love it from start to finish.
‘I may have tried and profiled over 500 sports over the years in my Saturday morning BBC Breakfast slot but think the Strictly challenge could be the greatest. Bring on the glitter!’
Strictly Come Dancing returns to the BBC later this year.

Rick Grimes revealed why he won’t kill Negan in a deleted scene (Picture: AMC)
The Walking Dead’s Rick Grimes had the chance to slay evil villain Negan at the end of season eight but decided to lock him up instead.
Choosing to place the ruthless character behind bars instead raised a lot of questions from both the character’s friends and from the audience, but now a deleted scene from series nine has given us the answers we so desperately need.
In the footage, which appears on the Blu-ray DVD release, Rick (played by Andrew Lincoln) told Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) that he had to respect the Saviours and not avenge Negan.
‘Every day since I put Negan in that cell, I have this moment, usually right when I wake up, this feeling that I should go down there and kill him, [and] to keep going and finish them all [the Saviors],’ Rick told Carol as they walked together.
‘In that moment, it’s all I want.’
Negan has claimed several lives over the years (Picture: AMC)
The character continued: ‘But then I remember everyone we’ve lost, not just to the Saviors, but the whole way.
‘And I know I need to honour them, to build life. Not take it. Because it’s us or the dead and every life counts now.’
Negan reigned terror during season seven and claimed the lives of Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun) and Abraham Ford (Michael Cudlitz), with Sasha Williams (Sonequa Martin-Green) taking her own life in an attempt to kill him as a walker.
‘In the season finale of season 9, you can see all the different sides of him,’ she said.
‘You can see how he has a special bond with Judith. I think that’s gonna take him places in season 10.’
We won’t be holding our breath.
The Walking Dead returns October 7 on FOX in the UK.

Amy Schumer doesn’t want her son Gene to be a fan of The Big Bang Theory (Picture: Instagram/CBS)
Amy Schumer has hit back at a fan in the best way possible after they said they’d like to see a documentary on her ‘coping’ with her husband’s autism diagnosis.
The 38-year-old actress and comedian, who opened up about her husband Chris Fischer’s condition earlier this year, interacted with the user on social media after asking her Instagram followers whether they’d be interested in seeing a television series following her challenging pregnancy and birth of her son Gene.
While a number of fans, including the likes of Paris Hilton and Miranda Sings registered their enthusiasm, one account replied: ‘Not really, honestly.
‘I think you’re great, I just feel like it’s self-serving and overdone. I’d like to see a documentary of you discovering your mate is diagnosed with autism and how you cope with the possibility that your child will be on the spectrum…’
‘How I cope? I don’t see being on the spectrum as a negative thing,’ she replied. ‘My husband is my favourite person I’ve ever met. He’s kind, hilarious, interesting and talented and I admire him.
‘Am I supposed to hope my son isn’t like that? I will pay attention and try and provide him with the tools he needs to overcome whatever challenges come up like all parents.’
She added: ‘I’d be disappointed if he liked The Big Bang Theory and Nascar, not if he has ASD [Autistic Spectrum Disorder].’
Burrrrrrrrrrn.
Back in March, Amy explained that her husband’s characteristics are what made her fall head over heels in love with him.
‘My husband was diagnosed with what used to be called Asperger’s. He has autism spectrum disorder,’ she said.
‘He’s on the spectrum. And there were some signs early on.
‘Once he was diagnosed, it dawned on me how funny it was, because all of the characteristics that make it clear that he’s on the spectrum are all of the reasons that I fell madly in love with him.’
The Big Bang Theory seasons 1 to 11 are available to stream on Netflix in the UK.

James Martin talked tequila on his show Saturday Morning (Picture: ITV)
James Martin recalled a shock experience he once had involving tequila. We’ve all been there, mate.
The 47-year-old was discussing tequila on his show Saturday Morning – where he was joined by guests singer Rebecca Ferguson and chef Claude Bosi.
They sampled a shot of the drink in the kitchen, and James asked his guests if they had had any memorable (or not) tequila-fueled incidents.
James revealed he had been drinking the alcoholic beverage with a friend and disaster struck as he had mixed his drinks.
After cooking up a storm in the studio kitchen, he asked Rebecca and Claude: ‘How are you guys with tequila? Or can’t you remember?’
‘That’s it! When you’re on tequila you can’t remember, it’s too late!’ Claude said, a sentiment that no doubt resonated with a lot of viewers.
The celebrity chef revealed: ‘Last time I drank tequila was with a mate of mine, a guy called Chris.
‘It was this and sambuca and I just spat it out and set his jacket on fire.’
James apologised to Chris for the mishap, but still, it makes a great story.
Also on the episode, which first aired in 2018, James whipped up chocolate cherry roulade, garlic soup and chicken in a mustard and wine sauce.

Mindhunter star Holt McCallany doesn’t smoke in real life but decided to use real cigarettes while filming the Netflix thriller.
His character in the streaming giant’s phenomenon, special agent Bill Tench, has a penchant for smoking and is often seen with a fag hanging from his mouth during
Talking about his very method style of acting in the series directed by David Fincher, Holt explained how he every moment he sparks up is carefully crafted behind-the-scenes.
‘David does a lot of takes, and he likes a performance to be very precise,’ Holt said. ‘We set it in rehearsal, and then that’s what it is. So if you smoke at a particular moment, you better smoke at that exact moment every single time, in every single take, no matter how many takes we do.’
Holt revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that he inhales actual cigarettes in the name of authenticity.
Admitting that Bill’s habit is a bit of a challenge, the star added to the publication: ‘What you learn over time, and it took me most of season one to get this, is to be a little judicious.

The latest offering follows Bill and Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) as they investigate another slew of murders with the help from psychologist Wendy Carr (Anna Torv).

Their research also leads them to meet Charles Manson.

The last season of Power is right around the corner, meaning that we’re just days away from Ghost and Tommy Egan’s showdown.
Following the jaw-dropping series five finale, which saw Tommy (played by Joseph Sikora) take aim at his former best friend but shoot Angela Valdes (Lela Loren) in the process, it’s fair to say that loyalty is officially dead going into the forthcoming installment.
Unsurprisingly, the reformed James St Patrick (Omari Hardwick) is set on getting revenge on his brother, but as the police grow closer in convicting him he needs to remain vigilant towards his enemies wanting to take him down.
Metro.co.uk caught up with Joseph Sikora to discuss what we can expect from the drama when it returns to Starz next week, how he’s coped playing twisted gangster Tommy and whether or not we’ll see him again in one of 50 Cent’s spin-offs.
‘Essentially and eventually we will find out if love is thicker than blood,’ Joseph began. ‘A lot of times it’s not the case. Remember, Power is a cautionary tale, it’s a cautionary love story too.
‘The love story isn’t just between Ghost and the ladies, but it’s really a love story between these two brothers.’

The final season of Power is right around the corner (Picture: Starz)
It’s no secret that Tommy is entering season six with a lot more enemies thanks to firing a bullet in Valdes’ chest and it looks like the odds are stacked against him.
‘A lesser man would not be able to keep breathing at a time like this, yet Tommy has always flourished under pressure,’ Joseph continued. ‘Will it be too much that he breaks?’
It seems like Tommy will be looking to kiss and make up with Ghost in episodes to come and we can’t imagine this will go down too well for him.
‘Tommy also, for all intense and purposes in his mind, has a level playing field,’ Joseph said. ‘Ghost took away his father, manipulated him in all of these ways and now, in the season five finale episode Tommy was aiming at Ghost.
‘Tommy had to be totally empty to take a shot at his own brother. Now he’s taken out Angela. In Tommy’s mind, the playing field is now equal and now he thinks there’s a place for reconciliation but I think we all know that Ghost is not coming off that way.’
Tommy believes he’s leveled the playing field between him and Ghost (Picture: Starz)
Despite the ongoing feud between Tommy and Ghost, behind-the-scenes there’s nothing but love between the two stars.
‘Omari and I are close,’ Joseph told us. ‘We respect each other. He’s like the Scottie Pippen to my Michael Jordan. We’re a great team.
‘It is difficult to play those extreme emotions, but we respect and love each other off-camera and have that admiration so it makes for really great potential for all these heated and emotional scenes on camera. I love acting with Omari, it’s been a real gift.’
Over the years we’ve seen Tommy commit some absolutely heinous crimes. From killing his own girlfriend Holly Weaver (Lucy Walters) in a fit of rage to burning Ramon alive, it seems there are no limits for the kingpin.
‘Sometimes it’s fun to see what they write because even for Tommy to take a shot at Ghost I was like, “How is that possible?”‘ Joseph said.
Joseph Sikora believes that his character Tommy has taken things too far on occasion (Picture: Starz)
‘Because I don’t write the show, my job is to figure out how did he get there. What are the emotions involved? What are the missing steps? I have to fill in those steps to make it real for the audience.
‘Tommy can be a bit demented. The bubble wrap scene, I was like this is so crazy, it was really outrageous but I loved it at the same time. And the burning of that guy, the writing is absurd but you have to make it real.’
Tommy’s often sickening and disturbing torture acts have had an impact on Joseph but he’s learned how to leave the heavy storylines at the door.
‘I always think that I keep Tommy as close as I need him but there are definitely times where it’s been too much for me,’ Joseph admitted. ‘The scene where I killed Holly, I often say that was the most difficult acting day of my life.
‘It was so intense and so raw. It was almost like this traumatic thing playing out in your mind. If you’re doing it right, your heart and your head are kind of in that real space.
‘You know you’re pretending and that you’re acting, but your heart and your head don’t so you’re really living it in some ways.’
Taking off Tommy’s costume helped Joseph switch off after a grueling day of filming.
‘The ritual for me is putting on the Tommy clothes and also specifically, Tommy’s Saint Christopher chain,’ he said. ‘That’s the ceremony that I need to go through and when I take everything off at the end of the day, I kind of go back and my mind naturally relaxes.
‘I think because of the ritual of doing those things, that you’re able to compartmentalise a bit better.’
Although the curtains are coming down on Power, the world it inhabits will still live on in some shape or form.
The show’s executive producer 50 Cent, real name Curtis Jackson, previously teased that he’s working on four spin-offs and obviously we’re holding on hope that Tommy will be making an appearance.
‘I’ll have to survive the season to make that work,’ Joseph laughed. ‘I can’t guarantee that most essential part.’
Power returns Sunday 25 August on Starz.

Marcel played a major role on the first series of Friends (Picture: NBC)
Ross Geller had a best pal in his monkey Marcel when Friends first hit our screens – and after becoming a Hollywood star on the show, he’s rebooting his career in a new real-life role too.
The Panamanian white-faced capuchin (to be technical) monkey was last seen in Friends in 1996, after Ross had to give him up to San Diego zoo after he reached sexual maturity.
FX CEO John Landgraf revealed that he recognized Marcel, real name Katie, when going through the footage of new show Y: The Last Man, after working with the marsupial during his time at NBC.
Speaking at the FX party at The Critics Association press tour, he said: ‘I recognize Jennifer Aniston, I recognize Courteney Cox and I recognize that monkey!’
‘There’s nothing like a really experienced actor who knows how to hit their marks!’ he joked.
He later confirmed that it was Katie – the female monkey that played Ross’ best mate.
In 1996 episode The One With The Fake Monica, Ross enlisted the help of Joey and Chandler to help him find a good home for Marcel after he reached sexual maturity.
After having sex with most of the furniture in Monica’s apartment, it was agreed that he was no longer able to live at a pet, and so they found him a place in sunny San Diego zoo.
However, the monkey soon found himself back in New York briefly after being picked up by a big Hollywood director, and was now working as an actor.
In one last heart-breaking moment, Ross got excited at seeing his friend again, only for his agent to cancel on them last minute because Marcel was too busy.
Maybe David Schwimmer could swing by the Y: The Last Man set and grab dinner with his old buddy?
Friends is available on Netflix and airs on Comedy Central.

The couple have split after 11 years (Picture: Rex/Instagram/Getty)
Neil and Katya Jones have announced that they are parting ways after an 11 year relationship and a six-year marriage.
Throughout their time together, the pair have been on a rollercoaster – from the dizzying heights of their all-singing, all-dancing wedding day to the low points of Katya being caught snogging Seann Walsh on a night out last year.
As the pair vow to remain close friends and continue working together, we have looked back on what made the pair stick together for so long.
Here’s a timeline of their relationship from beginning to end.
The couple first got together back in 2008 (Picture: Instagram)
2008 – Neil and Katya first get together
Neil and Katya (both Ekaterina Andreevna Sokolova) made their debut in Blackpool in 2008.
The couple’s chemistry was clearly as electric off the dancefloor as it was on it, and over the course of their careers they became undefeated four-time British National Champions, and the three-time winners of the World Amateur Latin Championships.
2013 – Neil and Katya marry in London
Never one to miss out on an opportunity for theatrics, Neil and Katya married in a central London ceremony in 2013.
To celebrate the day, they documented the major moments with a lip-sync video to No Gettin’ Over You by David Guetta and Chris Willis.
The video included Katya running through the streets in her wedding dress with her bridesmaids, Neil rapping in a mirror and the congregation performing a choreographed routine.
2014 – Neil and Katya Jones come under fire for ‘Fat ChaCha’ routine
During the Dutch open showcase back in 2014, Neil and Katya came under fire from the dance community after performing a ChaCha in fat suits.
Professional dancers and fellow competitors slammed the slender pair for their performance and stated that it ridiculed fat people.
They incorporated coughing and wheezing throughout the routine.
One fellow dance professional Clare Wilkinson, blasted them and told The Sun: ‘I am utterly horrified. How unprofessional and how disgusting of competitive dance to celebrate the ridicule of any group in society.’
A spokesperson on their behalf later added: ‘Neil and Katya’s show-dance was never intended to offend – it was a performance for which they won second place in the Professional Latin World Show-dance Championship.’

2016 – Neil and Katya join cast of Strictly Come Dancing
Katya and Neil both became Strictly pros in 2016, with Neil becoming one of the male pro dancers and Katya being a competitor.
Making her mark immediately, newcomer Katya was partnered with Ed Balls, becoming iconic with the former MPs Gangnam Style routine.
Their fun and playful attitude landed him in sixth place – and the pair’s friendship was clear thanks to their playful performances in the style of The Mask.
In 2017, Katya went one step further and took home the glitterball with Holby City’s Joe McFadden.

2018 – Seann Walsh kissing scandal
In one of the most shocking scandals to grace the ‘Strictly curse’ history, Katya and her celebrity partner, comedian Seann Walsh, were seen snogging in a high street after rehearsals in October 2018.
On top of Katya being married to Neil, Seann was in a five-year relationship with Rebecca Humphries at the time (which ended pretty quickly after).
Katya tweeted once the photos emerged: ‘I’m so sorry about any offence or hurt I may have caused with my actions. I wasn’t thinking and it was a one-off mistake after some drinks.
‘I love my husband and we are very happy together, this is not a reflection on our relationship.’
‘It’s just positive and we’re just keeping ourselves busy, meetings most of the days or in the studio. It’s keeping us occupied,’ Neil said.
‘And then I think I found ten days to have a break after all of it before Strictly starts again.’
In June, they performed three nights of their show at the Sadler’s Wells Theatre, which documented them meeting through to winning the national championships.

Announcing their separation, they said: ‘We will always love each other, just in a different way as friends. This will never change what a great team we make and we are really proud of everything we have achieved together.
‘Our shared love of dance means we will keep working and dancing together as well as exploring individual projects. No matter what we do we will always support and respect each other.’
‘We wish one another every happiness and we will remain the best of friends. We are really looking forward to getting back to the ballroom and can’t wait to keep on dancing,’ they added.
With both returning to the dance floor for Strictly this year, it’s been rumoured that Katya will not have a partner this year – and that Neil will finally get his shot at the glitterball.
Until this point, Neil remained a pro, performing in group routines and helping with choreography back stage.
Strictly Come Dancing starts later this year on BBC One.

Dan and Ella’s illicit encounter came as a massive shock to fans (Picture: Netflix)
Lucifer season 4 threw a massive curveball in the mix with the shock hook-up between Detective Dan Espinoza and Ella Lopez towards the show’s end.
To be fair, even they seemed a bit confused by it, with their awkward encounter afterwards cementing the idea that maybe they hadn’t entirely thought it through.
So what’s going to become of Dan and Ella? Well, according to actor Kevin Alejandro, he was as shocked as we were about it all unfolding.
Speaking to AssignmentX, he said: ‘Not at all. Did not see it coming at all. It’s funny… Aimee [Garcia, who plays Ella] and I were doing a scene I think an episode or two before that episode came out [of the writers’ room].
‘In one scene, I was like, “Maybe I give her a little peck on the cheek, a little brotherly thing.” And one of the writers said, “No. Don’t do that. We have ideas. Something else is going to happen in the future.”’
‘That was our first hint,’ he added. ‘Then all of a sudden, we get the episode and we’re like, “What?! We what?!”’
It’s pretty safe to say that that was something viewers were baffled by too – seeing as they had barely shared that much screen time together (but to be fair, they do work together, so they’d at least be buds. Because Ella’s buds with everyone).
So will this come back for season five? Or was their moment just a one off that they’ll never mention to each other, or the rest of the gang, again?
‘I think he’s completely confused. But I don’t really know. Joe [Henderson] and Ildy [Modrovich, the showrunners] are really good at keeping their own secrets,’ Kevin said.
‘I have no idea where they’re going to take it. I know that a lot of the audience really enjoyed the chemistry that Aimee and I had, so who knows?
‘I don’t know if they’re going to explore that further, or if that’s it.’
What is going to come of Detective Dan? (Picture: Netflix)
At the moment, the show writers are busy getting their heads down and the final 16 episodes written and ready to go.
While, technically, the heaven/hell detective drama is going to end with season five, fan outcry caused Netflix to extend the season into two parts, adding an extra six episodes.
Kevin previously spoke to us about what he wants to become of Dan in his last outing as a character, including who he wants to return and see in Hell, and what he hopes Dan will get up to.
Lucifer seasons 1, 2 and 3 is available on Amazon Prime Video, and season 4 is on Netflix.

Camilla and Matthew have tied the knot (Picture: Rex)
Grey’s Anatomy’s Camilla Luddington has married her long-time other-half Matthew Alan in an intimate California ceremony.
The pair invited just 70 friends to their special event, with the actress, known to most as Greys’ own Dr Jo Wilson, saying her vows with her husband overlooking the sea.
People Magazine confirmed their happy news, with a photoshoot revealing the pair beaming as they said their I Dos with The Temper Trap’s Sweet Disposition playing instead of the wedding march.
Speaking about the wedding, Camilla admitted that she always wanted to get married by the sea – but didn’t feel any different due to already having a life and family with Matthew.
She told the magazine: ‘We’re just ready to do the damn thing. We kind of already feel married because we have a two-year-old.
‘But there’s something romantic to us about solidifying that family unit by having the ceremony and actually having Hayden present.’
‘To be honest, I’m just excited to get into that new normal of married life,’ she added.
It’s not officially known how long the couple have been together, but they made one of their first official outings together at a 2016 Emmys party.
British-born Camilla officially became a US citizen in 2018, after living in and out of the States from a young age.
The couple welcomed their baby daughter Hayden in March 2017, announcing her arrival on Instagram with the declaration she was ‘the new great love in their lives’.
Ben proposed on New Year’s Eve 2018, and the star announced the happy news again on Instagram.
She joked: ‘I’m not sure I even let Matt get through his proposal before I started yelling YES YES YES!! Of course it was a yes!’
Grey’s Anatomy is available on Amazon Prime Video.

Jonathan Groff plays one of the leading roles in the series (Picture: Patrick Harbron/Netflix)
Mindhunter returned to Netflix for its second season earlier this week as the FBI agents return to use their criminal profiling skills to help solve some of the biggest US crimes.
The series is set in the 1970’s and 1980’s and season two sees Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff), Bill Tench (Holy McCallany) and Wendy Carr (Anna Torv) investigate the Atlanta murders.
Some of the events in the show are based on the true crime book of the same name, which was written by John E.Douglas and Mark Olshaker in 1995.
If you’ve already binge-watched the whole of the second season and are now waiting for more, here is everything that you need to know about a potential third season.
Will there be a Mindhunter season three?
Netflix has yet to confirm whether there will be a third season of Mindhunter, but that doesn’t mean that there won’t be one.
The second season wasn’t confirmed until a month after season one was released by the streaming service.

Netflix seems to often base it’s decisions on TV series renewals on the success of the current season with viewing figures being one of the main deciding factors.
Series writer Joe Penhall has said that he has a ‘five-season bible’ for the show and the direction that he wants it to go.
Speaking to PopCulture.com about a third season, actor Holt McCallany said: ‘I don’t think anybody knows right now, in August of 2019, exactly what lies in store for Holden and Bill, and Wendy.
‘We are hopeful that we will get to do the whole five seasons because the audience seems to have really responded to the show, people really like the show. And we’re very proud of the show, and very excited to keep making the show.’
There was nearly a two year gap between the first two seasons, so fans hoping for a third season may have a while to wait before it is available to watch.
The 30-year-old star has become the first reality star to be signed up to the BBC dancing show, but his wild child past could potentially come back to haunt him.
Ahead of the show’s launch, The Sun is reporting that a number of naked photos have already started doing the rounds, and could be disastrous of the ‘family friendly’ image of Strictly.
‘Jamie is proud of his manhood and happy to whip it out at any given time,’ the paper reported, adding many were ‘boys will be boys’ snaps from lads holidays.
‘But others are more sexy shots. It is these he is terrified about going viral,’ they added. ‘He doesn’t want his family seeing this side of him. And it’s hardly ideal for a family show on BBC.’
According to the source, Jamie is insistent the photos are old and haven’t been taken recently.
Metro.co.uk has contacted Jamie’s representatives for comment.
Jamie has been announced as one of this year’s Strictly contestants (Picture: Rex)
Since the announcement, Jamie has had to play down former experience after training in contemporary dance while at university.
Speaking on the Greatest Dancer podcast, he said: ‘There is no technique to contemporary dance. You can do anything you want.
‘I feel like if you’re given some ribbons and you roll about on the floor, everyone is going to be like, “that is contemporary.”’
It’s later been revealed that he has a foot injury that might cause him problems while training for the show.
Strictly Come Dancing launches later this year on BBC One.

Jessica Lange didn’t like Coven’s storyline despite being the leading lady (Picture: FX)
American Horror Story: Coven is one of the show’s most celebrated seasons – but Jessica Lange has admitted that it’s actually her least favourite.
I know, it’s hard to believe, but speaking in a video interview with Gold Derby (via TV Line), Jessica reflected on her time on the show and admitted that of the seasons she has appeared in within the franchise so far, that’s the one she disliked the most.
Jessica is due to return to the show after previously ducking out of being their lady for the first four seasons of the anthology.
She had also appeared in last year’s outing, Apocalypse, but not in a major role.
Reflecting on earning an Emmy for the Supreme Witch Fiona Goode in third season Coven, Jessica revealed that she was surprised that of all the work she could’ve been acknowledged for, it was that series.
Speaking to the site, Jessica said: ‘I was stunned that year to get the Emmy for that part.
‘The part was very well-written. I didn’t particularly like the whole set up and season and story we were telling. It was not my favourite.’
Alas, she was still Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie, according to the Emmys that year.
She played the life-obsessed Fiona who was left looking after a team of new young witches and finding out which one would replace her as supreme while her own abilities began to fail her.
As for the other instalments, she named (rightly, in our opinion) Asylum as the best season, but Freak Show remained her favourite to make.
That leaves Murder House (season one) at the second to last, barely getting a mention despite it kicking off the whole chain of events that have been constantly separate but intertwined ever since.

The ninth season, 1984, will be heading into the slasher genre as it launches in September.
Showrunner Ryan Murphy and co are giving their own take on a summer camp invaded by a serial killer much like some of the best thrillers from the 1980s.
However, Emma Roberts, Cody Fern, Billie Lourd, Leslie Grossman and John Carroll Lynch will be returning to the universe once again as they head into the rural forest that’s definitely hiding at least one person with a knife.
In a hell of a lot of spandex and through a cloud of hairspray, naturally.
American Horror Story: 1984 launches 19 September at 10pm on FOX.
