He’s now one of their biggest pro dancers. But Kevin Clifton has revealed he was twice turned down by Strictly Come Dancing before he finally got on the show.

Ouch.

Furthermore, Kev thinks he was overlooked because he was favouring a goth look at the time. Pics please!

Speaking to fellow dancer Aljaz Skorjanec in a special Strictly doc airing tonight on BBC1, the reigning champion said: ‘I applied with [ex-wife] Karen.

‘She got the job, I didn’t get it. I had long black hair, eyeliner, black fingernails…

‘Don’t think that I’m your average ballroom dancer guys.

https://www.instagram.com/p/B2XXWByBGR4/

‘They said, “Yeah we’d love to take Karen. But not that guy – we have no need for this gothic scarecrow who thinks he’s the rock star of the ballroom.”’

The now-boyfriend of Stacey Dooley then continued: ‘Next year, you and Janette both got the job, I got told “no” again. I got turned down twice.

‘And then they went to film the trailer for the show that year.

‘The idea for the trailer was that all these Strictly stars would be dancing with an invisible partner, who’s it gonna be? That invisible partner was me. I just wanted a job.

‘That’s me in the Morphsuit, carrying all the Strictly pros about, but being rubbed out of the trailer.

‘And then about two, three days later is when I got the call to say we can have you on the show.’

Thank goodness he never gave up – he’s now a fan fave after all!

Kevin is this year paired with Anneka Rice, best known for her iconic 90s show Challenge Anneka. (Look it up – it’s great).

Kev recently hit back at reports that he’s ‘fuming’ over the pairing, saying on Twitter: ‘Oh it’s just ridiculous I just laugh nowadays. As usual a completely made up story.’

The first live show of Strictly Come Dancing 2019 is next Saturday 21 September. Strictly The Professionals airs today at 7pm.

Strictly Come Dancing’s Karim Zeroual will dedicate his first dance on the show his close friend, Holby City star John Michie’s late daughter.

The CBBC star lost his best friend Louella Fletcher Michie in 2017, when she tragically died at age 24 after taking a fatal dose of party drug 2-CP at Bestival.

Louella, who was the daughter of Holby City’s John (Guy Self), passed away in a woodland just hours before her 25th birthday, with her boyfriend Ceon Broughton being found guilty of manslaughter after he failed to alert medics.

It’s been revealed that Louella and Karim loved to dance together, with the presenter set to pay tribute two years after her death when he first takes to the show’s dance floor.

A friend of Karim’s told the Daily Record in Scotland: ‘Karim thought the world of Louella and loved to dance with her.’

They added: ‘There is no doubt she will be in his mind during some of the more emotional moments of the show. He really adored her.’

After Louella’s death, Karim paid tribute on social media, writing: ‘Words can’t describe how I feel today…

https://www.instagram.com/p/BY8CXmejprD/

‘You were so special to me. The years we had together and the times we had have always been jokes, because you were never without a smile…

‘The only girl in the world I can call my best friend and my sister. I love you forever and always. RIP beautiful Lou. Gone too soon. #loveforlouella’.

Karim could be the dark horse of the series, with other contestants admitting they were surprised by his moves.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk ahead of the show’s launch, Dev said: ‘Karim is a little pocket rocket – I didn’t realise how flexible and explosive he is.

‘So I feel like we’re talking about the first basic steps and he’s able to do his backflips and his scissor kicks and whatever. He’s stiff competition!’

Emma Barton quickly agreed with her co-star, while many of the celebs pointing the finger straight at Karim when asked who they think had potential to win.

Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One on Saturday at 7pm.

Love Island’s Curtis Pritchard keen on joining brother AJ on Strictly Come Dancing and we need this to happen

Curtis Pritchard would be keen on joining brother AJ on Strictly Come Dancing, and we need to make this happen.

The 23-year-old – who became a household name thanks to his stint in the Love Island villa – previously competed on Dancing With The Stars.

And he has thrown his hat into the ring for the Glitterball trophy.

Speaking exclusively to Metro.co.uk at partner Maura Higgins’ Boohoo launch, he told us: ‘If it came up then, depending on the time, perhaps I wouldn’t say no to it.

‘You know, dancing is something I love to do. It’s not a little hobby, it’s in my blood. My dad was a dancer, my brother is, I am. We’ve all done it so much and I wouldn’t say no to it.

‘Perhaps if the opportunity came at the right time, [then] yes.’

AJ Pritchard and Lauren Steadman on Strictly Come Dancing

Someone get BBC on the phone ASAP.

Curtis and AJ are set to embark on their own dance tour next year – following his turn on the Greatest Dancer – so we’ll be able to see them both busting out some moves pretty soon.

But the ITV2 star admitted the pair are ‘very competitive’ with each other, which could add another layer to Strictly Come Dancing…

‘The fact that I’m working with my brother now, I’m going on tour with him next year, it’s a dream come true,’ he continued.

https://www.instagram.com/p/B14SlXFngcn/

‘We are rivals in our dancing, and we are very, very competitive against each other.

‘But we always have each other’s back, we’ll always protect each other, and we do love each other.

‘Both of our dreams has been to create a career together, and work together in the future, and that’s happening now which is incredible.’

However, he is adamant that – if he ever ended up on the show with Maura – they would absolutely not be paired with each other.

Love Island's Curtis Pritchard and Maura Higgins
Curtis and Maura Higgins probably wouldn’t get paired together (Picture: Backgrid)

And we’re absolutely heartbroken.

‘If I was in a parallel universe, let’s say I am a professional on a TV programme, and Maura was the celebrity, for me to dance with her on that would be incredible,’ he added.

‘It truly would.

‘[But] the height difference? I don’t think we would end up getting partnered together…’

And, just like that, all our dreams have been crushed.

Strictly Come Dancing kicks off on 21 September, on BBC One.

Vikings’ Kristy Dawn Dinsmore didn’t hold back when thirsting over her co-star boyfriend Alexander Ludwig.

Taking to her Instagram story, the actress shared a meme of a man’s crotch on fire.

The short caption read: ‘This is me when I see Alexander Ludwig,’ and it seems the proud girlfriend agrees.

Writing alongside the snap, she howled: ‘LOLOLOLOLOLOL meme of the day,’ alongside a little arrow pointing to the picture.

The star continued: ‘I don’t know if a burning crotch is a good thing or not… But… Me too… LOL.’

Since making her debut on the History Channel hit, the pair have constantly been showing their love for one another on the gram.

And while it’s normally quite cute, Kristy might have taken it one step too far this time.

The Amma actress only featured in the penultimate series of Vikings, however, we’re expecting to see a whole lot more of her in the show’s finale.

Talking about her experience on set, she told YVR Screen Scene: ‘I had two major panic attacks.

‘We did some boat scenes, and in one scene, I’m retching and sticking my head out the window. But Vikings is so good because there’s a family aspect and everyone is so supportive and they gave me the time and space to see how much I could take.’

She added: ‘When I was having a panic attack on the boat, they were like, “you can do this,” and I did. I feel like we all came together in those moments.’

Following her appearance, her proud beau took to Instagram where he called working with his gal the ‘greatest gift’ of his life.

The 26-year-old gushed: ‘Introducing #Amma #vikings she may be the smallest but no doubt she’s also the fiercest #viking.

‘It was one of the greatest gifts of my life to get to work with my woman @_kristydawndinsmore over the past two years on #vikings I love this character and everything you bring to it.’

The Bjorn star closed off his message by adding: ‘CONGRATULATIONS Baby!’

Vikings season six is set to air on the History Channel and Amazon Prime in Autumn this year.

Catherine Tyldesley is hoping to lift the Glitterball trophy but she may have some stiff competition from her four-year-old son if her Instagram video is anything to go by.

The former Coronation Street actress shared the sweet video of her professional partner Johannes Radebe swinging Alfie around by the arms, and added: ‘Day 4… @johannesradebe finds a new partner!’

Looks like it’s all fun and games for the pair so far as they dive into the Strictly training ahead of the launch on 21 September.

The long-time Strictly fan finally joined the 2019 line-up after years of watching the competition from her couch but it seems Catherine may have been on the dancefloor earlier had ITV played ball, as she claims she was only allowed star on other ITV shows while playing Eva Price on the soap.

The 35-year-old told PA: ‘I have spoken to [the show’s producers] before but it felt like this was the right time.

‘It had to work for us as a family, and this is the right time. When you’re in Corrie they’re not going to let you… they won’t let you do it.’

Catherine Tyldesley

And alluding to Corrie stars like Jane Danson and Samia Ghadie getting their skates on, Catherine added: ‘They’ll only let you do ITV things like Dancing On Ice.’

Corrie star Georgia May Foote joined Strictly in 2015 but only after she left her role as Katy Armstrong; Natalie Gumede reached the final in 2013 the same year she stopped playing Kirsty Soames; and Tina O’Brien took part in 2010 in the years she was on a break from Corrie and was instead starring on Waterloo Road.

Catherine’s final scenes as Eva Price, who first appeared on the cobbles in June 2011, aired in August 2018, nine months after the actress announced she was leaving to pursue other acting roles.

Top Boy’s Kane Robinson shocked by character death as new series arrives on Netflix

**Warning contains spoilers for Top Boy.**

Top Boy has always been filled to the brim with violent murders and horrific ends, but one death came as a complete surprise to cast member Kane Robinson.

In the brand new Netflix series, a beloved fan-favourite came to his untimely demise in the most unfortunate way and honestly we’re not still not okay.

Ricky Smarts’ character Jason is burned to a crisp in episode four, which is aptly titled Bonfire Night, when a house fire breaks out in the middle of the night.

While Sully got himself and a fat wad of cash to safety, Jason realised that the inferno had engulfed the entire building far too late and became trapped on the second floor.

Sully ran back into the house in a desperate attempt to rescue his friend, who he’d pretty much become a father figure to, but couldn’t battle the fumes and mounting blaze and headed back outside.

The fire engulfed the house (Picture: Netflix)

Unable to break through the window and get himself safely to Sully, poor Jason was last seen being sucked into the flames.

‘It was one of those jaw-dropping moments reading the script,’ Kane admitted to Metro.co.uk.

‘Sully’s been in jail and Jason has been there. It’s a weird situation because this kid has been there and has become family to me.

‘Sully wants to do his own thing, away from Dushane and he tries that, but when Jason dies it’s I think that kicks him back into gear and just makes him not care anymore.’

Kane continued: ‘That’s when we had that scene on the doorstep and he’s like you know what, I don’t feel anymore. Anything goes now.’

We first met Jason in the Channel Four series Top Boy: Summerhouse back in 2013.

At the time, Jason was just a child and was seen running around the estate in a huge jacket, pickpocketing gangsters and flogging his findings to market stall owners.

We’re heartbroken by Jason’s death… who’s teeth will Sully check up on now?

Top Boy series 3 is available to stream on Netflix.

Strictly’s Saffron Barker fans love chemistry with AJ Pritchard as YouTuber shows behind the scenes

Strictly’s Saffron Barker has taken her fans behind the scenes of her rehearsals with AJ Pritchard in her new video, and fans are loving their chemistry.

The YouTube star took fans along on her first day of training as she got to grips with the tango with her pro dancer partner.

After a cute moment when AJ pointed out Saffron was exactly who he wanted as his celeb partner, the 19-year-old couldn’t contain her excitement when she find out they’d be dancing the tango for week one.

‘I actually wanted to do this more than any dance,’ she revealed.

AJ then tried his hand at vlogging, although the dancer couldn’t resist having a bit of a moan about his arms hurting.

It’s a hard vlogging life, AJ.

With the pair revealing they were in the studio for a 13-hour day of rehearsals, it’s safe to say they’re giving it their all.

Fans were a bit obsessed with the pair after seeing them in the studio together, with one writing: ‘You and Aj have the perfect partnering!’

‘Good luck saff I know you and aj are going to win,’ another said, with one more saying: ‘Her and aj look so good together and look like they have chemistry so there dancing is going to be so in a different level.’

No lies detected.

However, it hasn’t been all smooth sailing for Saffron after she admitted she’s worried about ‘being sexy’ during the dances.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk at the TV Choice Awards, she said: ‘I’m worried about doing anything sexy like the rumba, it’s not gonna be my thing. I just feel a bit awkward.

‘You know when you’re not used to doing something and get told, “oh you need to look sexy now”. Also things like cha cha, anything really moving the hips. So I’m more excited to do something sassy like the paso doble, or like tango.’

Fans think they’re the perfect pairing (Picture: @SaffronBarkerVlogs/YouTube)

Training for the new series is well under way, and Saffron admitted that she already has some injuries.

‘It’s already intense, I’ve got so many cuts on my feet already,’ she said.

‘I don’t know how I’m gonna put on my heels. It’s intense but really fun.’

Practice has turned to be harder than she expected as the 19-year-old is ‘picking it up slower than I thought’.

All we can say is she looks to be smashing it.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday at 7pm on BBC One.

Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions is now in full swing and fans of the show will see another favourite face from the past, comedian Jack Carroll, on tonight’s show.

Jack, who has cerebral palsy, returns to the BGT stage tonight with a savage comedy routine full of jibes at the judges Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden.

Speaking after his performance, Alesha said to Amanda: ‘I don’t remember him being so vicious the last time.’

Jack will go up against 2016 winner Richard Jones, chart-topping brothers Richard & Adam and Canadian Britain’s Got Talent illusionist Darcy Oake on the show tonight.

How old is Jack Carroll now?

When Jack first appeared on our screens he was just 14 years old.

The Bradford-born actor and comedian is now 20 and hoping to impress the judges once again with his stand-up routine – if he doesn’t offend them too much first.

When was Jack Carroll on Britain’s Got Talent?

Jack made a name for himself when he competed in the seventh series of Britain’s Got Talent in 2013.

He was unanimously voted through to the next round by the judges after his funny first audition and went on to make it to the live semi-finals. He finished the show in second place, as the runner-up behind Hungarian shadow theatre group Attraction.

AJ Pritchard and his brother Curtis have shown off their disco moves in an adorable home video shared on Strictly Professionals.

The BBC special celebrated the professional dancers, and looked back over their journey to making it onto the competition.

And while AJ was discussing his dance history, a clip of both himself and his Love Island star brother appeared of them performing in a school play.

All dressed up like Elvis, the duo looked like twins and they pointed their finger in the air and then back to their hips.

‘That’s me in white and Curtis in black,’ the older brother explained to Neil Jones who was sat by his side.

Laughing at the short clip the 24-year-old added: ‘This was us in a school play.’

His fellow professional joked: ‘Was that last year?’ Burn.

And it looks like we might be seeing more of the pair on our screens, as Curtis recently revealed he’d love to join AJ on the glamorous show.

Speaking exclusively to Metro.co.uk at partner Maura Higgins’ Boohoo launch, he told us: ‘If it came up then, depending on the time, perhaps I wouldn’t say no to it.

Kevin Clifton has revealed his secret Strictly Come Dancing role before he landed a permanent spot on the show.

That’s right, when chatting on Strictly Professionals, the 36-year-old said he starred in one of the competition’s television adverts – except he was edited out.

Explaining the situation to Aljaž Škorjanec, Kevin took his buddy through his audition process.

He said: ‘I applied with Karen Clifton, she got the job and I didn’t.’

Laughing at why he was turned down, the star continued: ‘I had long black hair and black finger nails, and they were like, “yeah, we would love to take Karen but not that guy.

He has since become one of the professionals (Picture: BBC)

‘”We have no need for that Gothic scarecrow.”‘

Aljaž teased his pal: ‘You auditioned as a goth?’

The pair broke into laughter before Kevin went onto say he auditioned the next year, and still didn’t get a part.

‘Next year I auditioned,’ he grinned: ‘I got turned down again, I was turned down twice.’

However, in a twist of fate, he was finally hired by the BBC, but just not the role he was expecting.

‘Then they went to film the trailer for the show that year. The idea of the trailer was people dancing with an invisible partner, and that partner was me.’

Oh dear.

Anton du Beke was then seen chatting with Karen about her audition, to which she told him the same story.

‘You were more impressing than him?’ the popular dancer teased: ‘We’ve all said it for so long.’

We’re not sure we even have enough clothes to fill seven suitcases.

The Underworld actress was seen flying out of London’s Heathrow Airport to Los Angeles on Friday, with a transit van arriving at the entrance for first-class holding the cases.

Two porters were then pictured pushing the trolleys filled with the bags through the airport while Kate made her way to the first-class lounge where she surely enjoyed a nice cold glass of something.

Kate might be a huge name in Hollywood, but the actress recently revealed there are some important things she misses from the UK when she’s living her best life across the pond.

Here’s another nine (Picture: Splash)

And someone understanding her unique sense of humour is definitely one of them.

In a chat with Associated Press, the Van Helsing star said: ‘I always say the same things, which is Marks & Spencer and black cabs and my mum, that’s a given.

‘But what I mostly miss is everyone has the same silly references that you have, and a certain sort of sense of humour, most particularly in men.

‘There’s a kind of machismo in America, I love that English men have a kind of self-deprecating humour about themselves, on the whole, and I think it’s really healthy and I miss that.’

Netflix’s terrifying new horror series Marianne is quite possibly their scariest show ever

Netflix fans were treated to quite possibly the scariest series ever on Friday 13th as Marianne arrived on the streaming service and left viewers terrified.

The French horror series, which comes with English subtitles, follows Emma, a novelist who wrote books based on her nightmares about a witch, which are coming true.

She heads back to her home town to face her demons (quite literally, in this case) after the evil witch from her nightmares starts causing chaos in the real world.

Emma has to work out the ending to her stories in order to get rid of the curse and rid the town of the witch, Marianne. The only trouble is, she doesn’t actually know how to defeat her.

Fans took to Twitter to share their experiences of watching the new show, with one writing: ‘yall have to watch marianne on Netflix it’s a new french horror series and it’s SO f**ked up’.

Another added: ‘Speaking as a seasoned devourer of all things horror, Marianne is the scariest thing Netflix has ever done. And yes, that includes The Haunting of Hill House, which I adored.’

It’s definitely not a series to watch on your own in the dark, as the fear factor begins from the very first episode.

One viewer explained: ‘I LOVE scary movies and they never really scare me (except a few) but I’m watching this French series on Netflix called Marianne and I’m scared to death and I’ve only watched 20 min of it. I. Cant. Even. Move. #help’

The real hardcore viewers binge-watched the whole series in one go after it dropped on Friday 13th, with Netflix ramping up its scary offering on the countdown to Halloween.

Marianne is out on Netflix now but – word of advice – make sure you’ve got a spare pair of pants to hand and don’t plan on having a restful night’s sleep any time soon.

Steven Knight isn’t keen for a celeb cameo (Picture: PA)

Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight has insisted the show will never feature celebrity cameos, after Liam Gallagher expressed interest in making an appearance.

The creator of the Birmingham crime saga admitted however he will look at spin-offs when the final series wraps, as well as a potential film.

Knight spoke at a festival in honour of the hit BBC drama and discussed his plans for the underworld epic.

‘He said “if you do my video, I’ll do the festival”,’ said Steven of Liam.

‘In terms of appearances we’ve always had a lot of incoming interest.

‘What I’m trying to not do is populate the scene with people who are known for other things, because I think it’s quite distracting.’

He added that he is currently writing series six: ‘That’s almost done.’

‘Then I’m going to do series seven, then I’m looking at spin-offs, maybe a movie,’ he said.

‘It’s up to us. It’s up to the people involved.’

Knight added that he would make a decision on the future film version along with star Cillian Murphy and producer Caryn Mandabac.

Knight spoke at the Peaky Blinders Legitimate festival in Digbeth, where former Oasis frontman Gallagher made an appearance, being a fan of the show.

Liam Gallagher on Twitter
Liam may be unhappy (Picture: Twitter)

Taking to social media earlier this month, Liam began: ‘Oh what a beautiful morning, oh what a beautiful day.’

‘Any plans today Liam? replied one of his fans.

‘Thought you’d never ask,’ the Come Back To Me musician said.

‘Yeah, I’m off to meet a man about a part in Peaky Blinders.’

The BBC is yet to confirm if there will be another series of the show, but it looks likely to happen given that Peaky Blinders fever has pretty much taken over the UK at this point.

Peaky Blinders season 5 is currently airing on BBC Two.

Paddy and Nicko were awarded the golden buzzer from judge David Walliams on the third episode of Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions.

The 85-year-old dancer and partner Nicko previously finished ninth when they entered Britain’s Got Talent back in 2014, but the pair have been sent straight through to the final following their latest salsa routine.

After the pair danced away on Champions to a standing ovation, David Walliams said: ‘There are very few acts you can watch with a smile on your face and tears in your eyes.

‘This is one of the most joyous, most beautiful, most life-affirming acts we’ve ever had on Britain’s Got Talent.

‘So let’s not mess about. Let’s do this for everybody here.’

David rushed around the desk to hit the golden buzzer, sparking a shower of confetti and a particularly grateful Paddy and Nicko.

Speaking about the buzzer, Paddy said: ‘Just incredible. David, thank you so much. David is a very special name to me, it was my husband’s name, thank you so much.’

Some viewers, however, were quite surprised by David’s golden buzzer choice, with many suggesting it was a ‘waste’ of the buzzer..

Giving her critique, Alesha Dixon said: ‘For me, Paddy and Nicko, you are already champions in my eyes because people love you, we adore you, we respect you, the relationship is gorgeous and I can’t wait to see you in the final.’

Asked her secret to a long life, Paddy said: ‘Well I eat lots of chocolate, I have condensed milk in the morning, and sugar in my coffee.’

Paddy and Nicko follow previous golden buzzer acts Kseniya Simonova, chosen by Amanda Holden, and Alexa Lauenburger, chosen by Ant and Dec.

Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions continues next Saturday on ITV.

Simon Cowell was left unimpressed by hip-hop dance group The Fire on Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions, believing they ‘wasted’ their opportunity.

The dance group from the Netherlands won Holland’s Got Talent in 2017, and delivered a performance filled with pyrotechnics, gold attire, and elaborate choreography.

One person who wasn’t feeling the group was Simon Cowell, who was the harshest he’s been so far on an act in Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions.

Speaking after the performance, Simon said: ‘You’ve wasted a massive opportunity here guys.

‘You are very, very talented, there’s no question or doubt but it lacked imagination, creativity, and I tell you why I say that, because this I’ve seen a million times.

‘What I always hope on this show, particularly Champions, is that there’s a step up and I’m seeing something I haven’t seen before which is going to go viral, which is going to make a difference, and I think you’ve wasted a massive opportunity here guys.

‘Sorry.’

David Walliams strongly disagreed with Simon’s verdict, saying: ‘What a load of absolute nonsense Simon.

‘These guys are incredible.

‘They danced with such intensity, such passion, the music was incredible and it’s the mixtape I have when I do the ironing at home.

‘What makes them special is they’re phenomenal talents.

‘I thought it was very imaginative and I’m very surprised by his reaction. He obviously had a bad day I don’t know what happened, but you did brilliantly tonight guys, don’t go away downhearted because one person didn’t like it.’

Alesha could see Simon’s point though, comparing them to Britain’s Got Talent winners Diversity.

‘I’m not sure if you’re better than what we already have here but they’re [Diversity] are not here to fight for the title,’ Alesha said. ‘You guys are.

‘There is a part of what Simon said I agree with, however, I love the energy, I love the song choices and you brought the fire.’

Britain’s Got Talent winner Richard Jones misses out on final to Darcy Oake leaving fans very confused

Richard Jones failed to make it through to the final on Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions, losing out to Darcy Oake.

The 28-year-old magician and soldier won Britain’s Got Talent back in 2016, combining sleight-of-hand trickery with moving stories about the armed forces.

His latest performance was especially emotional following the death of veteran Fergus Anckorn, who he previously brought onstage in the tenth series final.

As super fans in the audience cast their vote on the latest batch of acts, it was Richard Jones, illusionist Darcy Oake, and young DJ Arch Jnr who made it to the top three.

After the latter was announced in third place, Darcy was revealed to be the winner leaving Richard in second place.

‘I can’t even put words to it honestly, thank you everyone who voted for me,’ Darcy said.

‘Thank you for having me back.

‘I don’t know what to say, it’s unreal.’

However viewers thought the super fans put the wrong man through, tweeting: ‘These audiences have got it wrong every single week so far! Richard Jones should have gone through!’

Others were left unhappy with David Walliams’ golden buzzer choice, Paddy and Nicko, which left two of the greatest BGT acts ever to come together in the round.

As hosts Ant and Dec turned to Richard, the magician said: ‘Thank you BGT, thanks for having me back.’

Darcy was sent through to the final along with salsa duo Paddy and Nicko, who earned the golden buzzer from David Walliams.

They’ll be joining Alex Lauenburger, MerseyGirls, Kseniya Simonova, and Bello and Annaliese Nock in the final next month.

Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions has sent another duo of acts through to the final – and British viewers might recognise this pair (Picture: ITV)

Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions now has six of its finalists following the third heat of the show on Saturday night.

This week saw nine more acts take to the stage, with performers from Spain, Lebanon and South Africa joining some of BGT’s best-loved acts of the past.

And two acts familiar to UK viewers made it through this week, one courtesy of David Walliams who had his turn with the Golden Buzzer – but who’s joined those already in the final?

Here’s what you need to know…

Who went through on week three of Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions?

This weekend saw dance duo Paddy and Nicko and magician Darcy Oake make it through to the final.

Paddy and Nicko – who originally scored a Golden Buzzer when they appeared on the show back in 2014, nabbed David’s gold for another energetic routine from 85-year-old Paddy and her dance partner.

‘There are very few acts you can watch with a smile on your face and tears in your eyes,’ he told them.

‘This is one of the most joyous, most beautiful, most life-affirming acts we’ve ever had on Britain’s Got Talent.’

Alesha Dixon added: ‘For me, Paddy and Nicko, you are already champions in my eyes because people love you, we adore you, we respect you, the relationship is gorgeous and I can’t wait to see you in the final.’

The pair were joined in the final by magician Darcy Oake, who also appeared in the 2014 series of the show, finishing fifth in the final.

The Canadian magician thrilled both judges and audience with a daring stunt which saw him having just 56 seconds to escape from a locked box rigged to explode with his hands handcuffed outside.

He won the superfans vote ahead of fellow magician Richard Jones and seven-year-old South African sensation DJ Arch Jr.

Who else is in the Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions final?

Paddy and Nicko and Darcy join Ukrainian sand artist Kseniya Simonova, daredevil duo Bello and Anneliese Nock, 11-year-old Alexa Lauenburger and her troupe of performing dogs, and former BGT finalists MerseyGirls.

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’s Rachel Bloom announces she’s pregnant with her first child at Creative Emmys 2019

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’s Rachel Bloom had a double reason to celebrate at the 2019 Creative Emmys last night – not only is she an award winner, but she’s pregnant with her first child.

The comedian and star of the cult hit TV musical revealed she was expecting as she took home the win for original music and lyrics for track Antidepressants are So Not A Big Deal.

She declared backstage: ‘I’m pregnant, so that’s what’s next for me! I might as well do it at an Emmys press conference right? I was going to post an Instagram, but yeah!

‘I’m three months pregnant. I get to tell my child she was with me when this happened, which is really f**king cool.’

It really is pretty cool. Congratulations!

Rachel is married to Dan Gregor, writer and producer on shows including Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and How I Met Your Mother.

The pair tied the knot in 2015, after being together for six years.

Rachel starred in Crazy Ex-Girlfriend as Rebecca Bunch, a woman who moves her life from New York to West Covina, California in a bid to win back her first boyfriend, Josh Chan.

Over the course of the show’s four season run, the series was praised for its blunt portrayal of mental health issues, with Rebecca being diagnosed with borderline personality disorder as her efforts to get Josh’s attention (and then later, Greg and Nathaniel’s) became more extreme.

It also dealt with female friendships, pains of adulthood, frank discussions on sex and work/life balance – all with a catchy musical soundtrack, of course.

(Even the late Nipsey Hussle got in on the ‘patriarchal bulls**t’ for one of the iconic tracks, the Sexy Getting Ready Song.)

The show ended this year after a 61 episode run, with the cast now appearing on Broadway, a series of upcoming films, as well as touring together performing songs from the show.

Looks like they have a new cast member to add to the collective!

Rachel’s win came as RuPaul’s Drag Race, Queer Eye and Saturday Night Live dominated the wins of the evening at the Creative Emmys.

The ceremony, held at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles, celebrated the biggest and best work that goes on behind the scenes of our favourite TV shows.

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is available now on Netflix.

RuPaul’s Drag Race, Queer Eye, Carpool Karaoke and Free Solo have all won big at the Creative Emmys 2019.

Television’s elite gathered at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles to celebrate the biggest and best work that goes on behind the scenes of our favourite TV shows.

Drag Race, which is soon to debut its UK series, was given three awards for hair, costume and best host – the fourth time in a row RuPaul took home the award.

Accepting the trophy, RuPaul dedicated the award to the memory of Jacqueline Wilson, a producer on the show who passed away last week.

Queer Eye took home four awards, including for its casting, which this season included a man who was shot and left paralyzed in a gang fight. He was reunited with his shooter during the episode in one of the most hard-hitting moments the show has ever delivered.

They also took home structured reality programme for the second year in a row.

Saturday Night Live proved its sticking power by also receiving four awards over the night, acknowledged for its non-prosthetic make-up, lighting design, production design and a short film on the history of the show.

Carpool Karaoke, the runaway viral hit segment from The Late Late Show with James Corden, also did well and took home three awards: two for Corden, and one for the spin-off series on Apple.
