Motsi Mabuse understands Strictly curse – because she left husband for her dance partner

The Strictly Come Dancing curse has plagued the BBC show since it began way back in 2004.

And while many dismiss the curse’s existence, judge Motsi Mabuse admits she understands how it can happen – as she left her husband to marry her dance partner.

The South African dancer, 38, married German dancer Timo Kulczak in 2003 when she was 22 years old, after they met four years before at the Blackpool Dance Festival.

However, after 11 years together, Motsi fell for her dance partner Evgenij Voznyvk, with the judge saying: ‘Three years later whoosh! And then I was married.’

After winning the German Latin American title in 2013, Motsi and Ukrainian Evgenij retired with a final rumba on the German version of Strictly – and it was then that Motsi knew she had feelings for her partner.

She told The Sun: ‘We stopped and it was then that we realised that we wanted to do more than just dance together.’

Motsi and Timo split, and in 2017, the star – whose sister is Strictly pro Oti Mabuse – married Evgenij in 2017.

So Motsi has plenty of sympathy for those struck by the dreaded Strictly curse.

She said: ‘You know, if you work in this sort of world, adult things happen. Everyone goes for a drink and, whoops-a-daisy!’

Over the years, numerous couples have been formed on the BBC One show, with multiple celebrities leaving their partners for professional dancers, or splitting from their long-time loves after competing.

Last year, Seann Walsh was dumped by his girlfriend of five years after he was pictured kissing partner Katya Jones – who split from husband Neil months later.

Stacey Dooley also split from boyfriend of three years Sam Tucknott after winning the 2018 Glitterball, and is now dating her pro partner Kevin Clifton.

Dianne Buswell split from actor Anthony Quinlan, only to start dating her celeb partner Joe Sugg, while Louise Redknapp’s 18-year marriage to Jamie ended after she competed on the 2016 series.

Georgia May Foote broke up with Corrie co-star Sean Ward to date partner Giovanni Pernice; and shortly after competing on the show, Ben Cohen split from his wife of 11 years, Abby – going on to have a baby with his pro partner Kristina Rihanoff.

And while it looks like the class of 2019 has escaped the dreaded curse, two members of the cast are believed to be having a secret romance behind the scenes.

This weekend will see Kelvin Fletcher, Karim Zeroual and Emma Barton fight to be crowned Strictly 2019 champion, after Chris Ramsey left the competition on Sunday night.

Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturday night at 7.05pm on BBC One.

Jacqueline Jossa - I'm A Celebrity

Jacqueline Jossa broke down in tears as she was reunited with her two little girls after her I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here win.

The ex-EastEnders star was left in shock when she was crowned Queen of the Jungle on Sunday night’s live show, beating out Corrie’s Andy Whyment and DJ Roman Kemp in a final public vote.

But the mum-of-two had been missing daughters Ella, four, and one-year-old Mia since entering the jungle… and so when they reunited it was inevitable there were tears.

Entering the Versace Palazzo hotel as she returned to normality, Jacqueline was greeted to a crowd of well-wishers and loved ones – but only had eyes for her two little ones.

Scooping them up in her arms, Jacqueline broke down in tears as she finally had her family back together again.

Her two girls were also clearly delighted to be back with their mum and were seen giving her a big hug and cheering her on.

It seems the pair are as bubbly and positive as their mum, with Dan even thanking them for ‘helping him keep smiling’ amid allegations he cheated on Jacqueline.

‘Thank you my babies for putting a smile on daddy’s face every single day even on the days that smiling just doesn’t seem possible,’ he wrote in an emotional post.

‘You are all incredible and my world!! Now let’s go get mummy back!!!!’

Kate Garraway later told GMB abou the moment: ‘There’s a lovely moment you see, where she walks into the Palazzo, and she walks in and sees her two little girls, and it’s so lovely, you’re going to really enjoy seeing it.’

Her husband, Dan Osborne, ignored allegations of infidelity for an emotional reunion on the I’m A Celebrity bridge, joining Jacqueline’s mum and dad who were also there to see her victory.

The pair have been loved up ever since and stuck by each other’s side.

Talking to Ant and Dec after her win, Jacqueline said: ‘I can’t believe I did all that stuff. It was not what I expected, it was a lot harder than I expected. But also I just didn’t think it was going to be such a turning point in life.

‘I went in and was one person and I feel like I’ve come out as a different person.’

‘I feel like I’ve grown in confidence and found who I am as a person a little bit more,’ she continued.

I’m A Celebrity 2019 winner Jacqueline Jossa scraps live TV interviews after Dan Osborne cheating accusations

Jacqueline Jossa will not be doing any interviews today despite winning I’m A Celebrity… Get Me out of Here! following an explosive few weeks for husband Dan Osborne, according to Lorraine Kelly.

Traditionally the King or Queen of The Jungle would be doing the rounds of morning television after their victory, but the former EastEnders actress will be enjoying time out of the limelight instead.

The 27-year-old leapt into the arms of her hubby in an emotional reunion last night after she reportedly spoke to the former Towie star in unaired scenes over rumours he cheated with fellow camp mate Myles Stephenson’s ex-girlfriend Gabby Allen.

Dan has repeatedly squashed the rumours, which were then followed by reports he had a threesome with his Celebrity Big Brother co-stars Chloe Ayling and Natalie Nunn, who has since been dumped by her husband. Dan also denied these claims.

Speaking to Roman Kemp today, Lorraine explained: ‘I know she’s not doing interviews – I hope she’s having a bubble bath!’

The Capital FM presenter revealed Jacqueline almost quit the series but he managed to convince her to stay.

‘I said, “if you stay you can win it,”’ he told Lorraine.

Following her shock win, after bookies tipped Andy Whyment to take the title, Jacqueline told hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly she didn’t want to be seen as a doormat.

‘It’s so easy to care so much what other people think of you, people who say nasty things for the sake of it,’ she began

‘I try to change their opinion and it doesn’t make sense, but in here, you have no choice. You have to be you. I’ve had amazing people constantly bigging me up.’

She added: ‘I feel like I’ve come in here and proven myself.’

Sharing a cosy photo with the winner of I’m A Celeb today, Dan wrote: ‘My jungle Queen! Words can not describe how proud I am of this woman!
‘She absolutely smashed it from day 1 and deserves this sooo much!! Well done baby.’

Lorraine airs weekdays at 8.30am on ITV.

Caitlyn Jenner was seriously stoked that her ‘sweet friend’ Jacqueline Jossa was crowned the winner of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! last night.

Jacqueline was named Queen of the Jungle, beating the likes of Coronation Street’s Andy Whyment and Roman Kemp in the nail-biting finale, and the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star celebrated her fellow campmate’s victory in the most lovely way.

Showing her love for the former EastEnders actress, Caitlyn shared a selfie of the pair together and posted it to her 9.8million Instagram followers.

Captioning the pic, she wrote: ‘Congratulations to my sweet friend @jacjossa witnessing your growth on this show was amazing! Congrats Jungle Jack!’

We bet Jacqueline will be made up by the heartwarming post.

Caitlyn and Jacqueline became good friends while living it up in the I’m A Celebrity jungle.

Early on in the series, Caitlyn compared the soap star to her daughter Kylie Jenner after she’d smashed her Bushtucker Trial.

Giving her encouragement, especially after she got 12 stars for the camp, Caitlyn told Jacqueline: ‘After you came back and you were all happy and that good feeling you should be and you reminded me of Kylie.

‘Enthusiastic, like wow, here we go. We’re doing this, wow that was fun, you know. It’s very much that way.’

Naturally, Jacqueline was bowled over by Caitlyn’s remark and excitedly exclaimed in the Bush Telegraph: ‘How cool is that?!

‘Caitlyn Jenner just casually said, “oh you remind me of Kylie.” Winning. Winning! She always notices when I’m down, she notices when I need picking up, and she’s just really, really an amazing person.’

I’m A Celebrity campmates ‘banned Brexit and voting talk’ in the jungle and we’re insanely jealous

The I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here camp mates appear to have achieved the unthinkable and created for themselves a Brexit-free utopia after banning the word in camp.

… Anyone else suddenly fancying a couple of weeks away in the Australian Outback?

As the UK continues to be knee-deep in election confusion, fierce debate and three years into Brexit talks, the campers decided that while they were in the series, they were allowed a politics free world.

Yeah, at this point we’re extremely jealous of that, if we’re honest here.

Kate Garraway, who came fourth on the show, and Andy Whyment, who placed runner up, appeared on GMB and made the revelation.

Speaking to the pair, Piers Morgan said: ‘You’ll be pleased to know, nothing’s changed in Brexit. The world’s still gone nuts.

‘You haven’t really missed much, but great to have you back.’

‘That word was banned in camp. That word was banned,’ Corrie star Andy responded.

‘I have no idea what’s happened, but you can fill me in,’ Kate then told her co-star.

With the election coming up this week and Boris Johnson and Jeremy Corbyn going head-to-head in debates (or avoiding them altogether), the idea of this political detox sounds pretty fab at this point.

We’d even be willing to consider taking on a Bushtucker trial or two for the peace and quiet!

While talking to Kate and Andy, Piers took a moment to congratulate his friend and co-star for her ‘brilliant’ job in the jungle.

‘You guys did brilliantly. You were obviously hugely popular as you were in the last four both of you,’ he told her.

‘You’re our queen Kate. We’re very proud of you,’ Piers continued.

‘You’ve shown everyone what you’re really like, which is what you’re like on telly.

Crufts’ presenter Peter Purves backed by Piers Morgan after ‘ageist’ dog show axes him after 41 years

Peter Purves has claimed that he was a victim of ageism after he was axed from commentating Crufts for Channel 4 after 41 years.

The 80-year-old TV host appeared on Good Morning Britain to discuss his sudden dismissal from his role, saying he was ‘stunned’ when he was told he was ‘surplus to requirements’.

He told Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid: ‘There hadn’t been a hint about it. This would be my 42nd year at the show. I just feel it’s part of my life, I was very shocked, I was very hurt.’

‘I did ask for the reasons in writing,’ he revealed. ‘I got them, and there wasn’t a reason.

‘It was just, “We’re always refreshing the show”. Basically, sorry, one in one out, we’re bringing someone else in, you’re out.’

Peter, whose legendary time on telly started with kids TV show mainstay Blue Peter, then said that he believed that it was a ‘code for ageism’ and knew Channel 4 wanted to keep age of on-screen talent down.

‘I know that that was said, I can’t prove it, no one has written it down to me, but I know it,’ he said.  ‘So that has been said. Channel 4 want a younger presentation team, so I had to go.’

‘The one thing that hurt me quite a lot was, “We want to bring in someone else to sit beside the expert team”,’ Peter said.

‘So I’m not part of the expert team? 41 years doesn’t make you an expert?’

‘I don’t believe because you reach a certain age your talent, your skill, whatever it is, whatever I have, it may not be good, but whatever I have should not just be dismissed for my age,’ he added.

‘I’ve been part of that show for a long, long time so that’s what’s very hard to break the feeling of.

‘There’s a void. I hope it doesn’t affect other work, it may, but I hope it doesn’t.’

When approached by Metro.co.uk, a spokesperson for Kennel Club, who runs Crufts, said: “Channel 4 takes its own independent editorial decisions for its programmes.

‘Peter is and will remain a great friend of the Kennel Club and Crufts, and we are delighted that he will be presenting the 2020 Best in Show trophy.’

Metro.co.uk has also contacted Channel 4 for comment.

On talking to Peter, Piers took particular exception to the star’s plight, and vowed to launch a campaign to get his role back.

‘I’d love to know what Clare Balding thinks about this. I know Clare, and she won’t be happy about this,’ Piers declared.

‘It’s just ageist, that’s all it is. It’s people saying we can’t have a bloke that age doing this.

‘Why? It’s only 41 years! 41 years.’

‘You were a legend of my generation,’ he continued. ‘We’re going to try and fight the good fight, Peter.

‘We’re sorry you’ve been given this horrible shock before Christmas.’

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.

I’m A Celebrity star Roman Kemp baffled as Lorraine Kelly asks saucy question about girlfriend Anne-Sophie Flury: ‘Come on!’

Lorraine Kelly accidentally put her foot in it while grilling I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star Roman Kemp about his first night with girlfriend Anne-Sophie Flury.

The radio DJ came third behind Andy Whyment and Queen of The Jungle Jacqueline Jossa last night in another nail-biting finale which saw more than 11 million viewers vote to crown their champion. Although, no one welcomed him when he left the jungle.

Naturally, everyone wanted to know what Roman did immediately after bursting through the doors of his lavish suite at the Versace Hotel in Brisbane, only Lorraine got slightly flustered when she realised she may have gone too far.

‘Tell me, as soon as you got back to that hotel and you gave Anne-Sophie a hug, what else did you do?’ the host began before jumping off her seat to explain herself.

‘You don’t have to tell me as much! I meant food… and things like that,’ she squirmed.

Yeah Lorraine, come on’ Roman teased, rolling his eyes.

Actually, Roman revealed he just rubbed his hands through the carpet and lived out his dreams with a hot shower.

The 26-year-old also admitted he’s ‘flattered’ by flirtations from Love Island winner Amber Gill, but he’s more than happy with his ‘missus’.

‘I’m flattered but it was an amazing moment when I saw my missus, I missed her so much,’ he stressed.

Following his exit Roman told hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly: ‘I’ve never had more fun… I couldn’t be more grateful.’

He added: ‘It’s a strange place down there, it’s an unnatural thing that forms a family within three weeks.’

Jacqueline is the first I’m A Celebrity winner to snub all interviews following her victory. During her stay in the jungle, it was reported she spoke to husband Dan Osborne in unaired scenes over allegations he cheated on the former EastEnders actress with Love Island’s Gabby Allen.

He was also accused of enjoying a threesome with his Celebrity Big Brother co-stars Natalie Nunn and Chloe Ayling. He’s denied both reports.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! is available to stream on ITV Hub. Lorraine airs weekdays at 8.30am on ITV.

You need to watch Netflix’s Norwegian rom-com series Home For Christmas

$

Netflix is a treasure trove for so-bad-it’s-good Christmas movies – shout out to The Princess Switch and the entire A Christmas Prince franchise.

But a new festive series has landed on the streaming platform that actually just falls into the good category.

It’s a Christmas miracle!

Norwegian mini-series Home For Christmas (Hjem til jul) is delighting binge-watchers thanks to its whip-smart humour and clever twist on all the Christmas rom-com tropes.

The six-episode series stars Ida Elise Broch as Johanne, a 30-year-old who is smashing it in her job as a nurse and is surrounded by brilliant friends.

Home For Christmas
Johanne attempts to find a boyfriend in 24 days in Home For Christmas (Picture: Netflix)

But as it hits December, her family only want to know one thing – when is she going to get a boyfriend?

Johanne is already feeling insecure as the ‘single and childless’ are forced to pick up Christmas Eve shifts, her friends with babies bond over the new level of tiredness that only parents can feel, and she runs into her perfect ex who has gone on to get married and have a kid, but when her mother seats her between her twin nephews at the dinner table, enough is enough.

To shut her family up, Johanne lies and says she has a boyfriend who she will bring along to dinner on Christmas Eve – meaning she has 24 days to find a man.

With the help of her housemate, Johanne gets on the dating apps to find her Christmas bae, but between hooking up with a 19-year-old, entering an escape room with a ‘psychopath’ and injuring her crotch while spinning, it’s not all that easy.

While the whole ‘single at Christmas’ thing has been done, Home For Christmas is a fresh look at the pressures of dating at 30 – think Bridget Jones but with Tinder in Norway – and even mocks its inspiration with a Love Actually inspired moment that goes on to point out everything wrong with the Christmas classic.

And those who have discovered the Norwegian series (which comes with English subtitles) are obsessed:

Home For Christmas only dropped on 5 December, but thanks to the series’ ending, people are already wondering if 2020 will bring a second series of the show.

Please, Santa, we’ll be good!

Home For Christmas is now streaming on Netflix – and if you need more festive Netflix fare, here’s the best Christmassy content available.

X Factor: Celebrity has only just finished, but another spin-off of the ITV show is already honing into view in the shape of X Factor: The Band.

This one sees Simon Cowell on the hunt for the next big group to sign to his record label, with a little help from Nicole Scherzinger – but not Louis Walsh, who’s not taking part in this one.

It comes ahead of Little Mix’s own talent show The Search airing on the BBC – and is set to be a pretty short spin-off, with just four shows airing across this week and weekend.

But just what time should you tune in, and when exactly is it on?

Here’s what you need to know…

What time is X Factor: The Band on ITV tonight?

X Factor: The Band is on ITV tonight at 8.30pm.

The show runs for an hour and a half ahead of the ITV News at 10pm, filling the slot also vacated following the end of I’m A Celebrity 2019.

X Factor: The Band has been put together in just weeks, with Simon Cowell recently calling for people to audition – and enraging fans of K-Pop in the process – when he declared in his initial announcement that it was ‘time for UK-Pop’.

‘We have weeks to get this together,’ the Syco boss said. ‘Very simply, we’re either going to try to find the biggest boy group in the world or the biggest girl group in the world.’

He finished the plea for contestants by saying: ‘Right now K-Pop, you could argue, is ruling the world – now, it’s time for UK-Pop.’

As well as Nicole Scherzinger, Cowell will be joined on the show by guest judge Leona Lewis – who won The X Factor back in 2006 – as well as music industry experts including Naughty Boy and Ella Eyre.

Dermot O’Leary is also on board once again as presenter.

When is X Factor: The Band on this week?

The second instalment of the series will be on Wednesday night on ITV at 8.30pm, followed by the penultimate show on Friday night at 8.30pm.

The live final will be on ITV on Sunday night from 8pm.

The Simpsons star explains how the show ‘predicted’ Donald Trump’s presidency

The Simpsons’ knack of successfully predicting real-life events has become a great source of fascination among fans.

From forecasting Disney’s 2019 takeover of 20th Century Fox to foreseeing The Rolling Stones’ continued stamina for playing live well into their 70s (albeit not on the Steel Wheelchair Tour), the writers of the long-running cartoon should really start playing the lottery given their track record of predictions.

Right up there in the Simpsons’ crystal ball-gazing endeavours is their 2000 prediction of Donald Trump’s still baffling rise to the White House 16 years later.

The episode Bart to the Future imagined Lisa Simpson succeeding Donald Trump in office and inheriting a massive budget crisis.

Dan Greaney, who is credited with writing the episode in question, told The Hollywood Reporter in 2016 that the joke had been intended as ‘a warning to America’.

‘That just seemed like the logical last stop before hitting bottom,’ he said. ‘It was pitched because it was consistent with the vision of America going insane.’

Yeardley Smith, who voices Lisa, has now given her take on how the writers managed to imagine this most unlikely of scenarios years before it became reality.

‘They literally thought, “What’s the silliest, most outrageous, dumbest idea for a president we can possibly think of?”’ Smith told News.com.au in a new interview.

The voice actress also thought it was ‘uncanny’ how the show again managed to ‘predict’ Trump’s infamous escalator arrival to his first presidential announcement back in 2015.

It should be noted, however, that the joke Smith mentions was part of the surreal YouTube short Trumptastic Voyage, which aired a month after the now-President’s viral moment.

‘Now, Donald Trump is not a fan of the Simpsons,’ Smith added. ‘We’re not his cup of tea, so we don’t think he watched it and thought, “I’m going to copy and do it that way.”

While Smith mixed up her love of Simpsons/Trump predictions on this occasion, her admiration of the show’s remarkable political forecast in 2000 still stands.

And, as Smith says, it’s ‘one of the best predictions’ the show’s ever pulled off.

Simon Cowell visibly horrified by self-proclaimed ‘rock star’ on X Factor: The Band

The X Factor: The Band kicks off tonight and already Simon Cowell is faced with his first nightmare in Sven Smith.

The glam-rock 22-year-old rates himself an 11 out of 10 in style, but bursts into the music mogul’s office wearing nothing but a tasselled jacket, enormous chest tattoos, and a questionable headband.

Oh.

‘I’m a rock star,’ Sven erupts with pride. ‘I’m doing Jump by the mighty Van Halen.’

Only Simon looks absolutely horrified while music producer Naughty Boy, who will be helping the Syco boss and Nicole Scherzinger find the next X Factor supergroup, looks like he’s just witnessed a murder.

The X Factor: The Band airs Wednesday, Friday and Sunday this week after Simon scrapped X Factor: All-Stars in favour of the new series after learning Little Mix will be launching a similar show titled The Search in 2020.

Tonight acts will audition in Simon’s HQ in London before facing an audience of thousands at arena auditions in Birmingham where Simon and Nicole will be joined by former champion Leona Lewis and Ella Eyre.

‘Simon and the show have discovered some of the biggest pop groups in recent music history, One Direction, Fifth Harmony, Little Mix – they’re all stars and have sold millions of records,’ enthused host Dermot O’Leary.

‘In previous years, you’ve seen the judges put individual singers in a group – usually with their decision making and reasoning off camera, but this time people will get to see the process take place.

‘The judges will select girls and boys to form new bands just like they did with One Direction and Little Mix and then both will go head to head to be crowned the winning group with a live arena finale in Birmingham.’

The X Factor: The Band launches tonight at 8.30pm on ITV.

The Boys finally releases new blood-splattered trailer for season 2 after leak

After Friday’s false start, Amazon Prime Video has finally shared the bloody (in more ways than one) first trailer for the upcoming second season of The Boys.

The acclaimed superhero black comedy, which lists Preacher and Superbad duo Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg among its executive producers, debuted on the streaming platform back in July has already received assurances that a second season would be commissioned.

Fans of the show initially got excited last Friday (6 December) when the trailer was accidentally uploaded online, but the official preview of season two of The Boys was finally screened over the weekend at the CCXP convention in São Paulo, Brazil.

Spoilers for The Boys season one are posted below…

Eric Kripke’s take on Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s best-selling comic looks set for a blood-splattered return with season two, as the trailer opens with Homelander – presumably covered in blood after killing Stillwell in the season one finale – descending down to earth with an astounded look on his face.

Fans are already predicting that the evil character, played to b*****d perfection by Antony Starr, is making such a face as he’s being confronted with the sight of his estranged son.

Elsewhere in the trailer, we get a glimpse of a still-alive A Train (Jessie T. Usher) – suggesting that he has survived the heart attack which was brought on by fighting Starlight (Erin Moriarty) – while a bigger role for Mr. Edgar (Breaking Bad’s Giancarlo Esposito) in season two is also teased.

A host of new characters will make their bow in season two, but the likes of newbies Stormfront (Aya Cash), congresswoman Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit) and Patton Oswalt’s mystery role aren’t previewed in the trailer.

With the trailer finally out, the real wait now begins for fans of The Boys – but, with the promise of a new year (and decade) right around the corner, it surely won’t be too long before the Amazon hit series returns to screens.

The Boys season two will air on Amazon Prime Video in 2020.

Angels Of The North’s Sammyjo Pearson speaks out on how mental health struggles spurred her on to do reality show

Sammyjo is a proud girlboss after overcoming a mental breakdown (Picture: BBC Three)

Sammyjo Pearson, star of BBC Three’s new show Angels Of The North, has opened up about putting her mental health battle on screen – and how she hopes showing her success will inspire others.

The young entrepreneur has launched her own business in Newcastle with the UK’s ‘most Instagrammable supersalon’ Longlox, which takes centre stage on the eight-part new series.

Following the loves and lives of those who work and run the salon, the show started with Sammyjo’s return to work after a mental health battle, with the business woman speaking bluntly about juggling work, love and life.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk, Sammyjo said: ‘I was quite open about it when it happened, on my post a couple of years ago on Instagram. I just put a post on about my mental health and saying that I had a mental breakdown and that I had been taking time out for six months and everyone was shocked.’

Despite having one of the most Instagram friendly salons for clients to show off their new hairdos and pose for pics, Sammyjo is quick to insist.

‘Things that you see on Instagram is not real – it’s not real life,’ she said. ‘So people just thought that they can see me and seeing that I had the salon and an amazing family around me, but I was in a mental state that was amazing but I wasn’t.

‘I surprised quite a few people. I thought I got a lot of people opening up to me about it, asking how I got over it and just asking advice. People that don’t even know me messaging me on Instagram asking for advice.

‘It’s nice to be able to know I can help other people now that I’ve come through it.’

Noone’s more proud than her ‘mamager’ Bev, who helps run the day-to-day of the business and keeping all the group of juniors in line.

‘I don’t really think there was anything we didn’t want the cameras to see,’ Bev said. ‘I feel like the one thing I’m looking forward to seeing is the fact that Sammyjo’s walk back through the door, and she can talk about what happened to her and that could be to somebody else sitting and watching the TV, going through the same thing, they can related to that as well.’

Now they’re hoping that Angels Of The North will prove to those struggling with their own mental health that they can still be a ‘girlboss’ and overcome their darkest moments.

‘She’s opened her mind, and her heart and her body and her soul,’ Bev added. ‘Fully into this TV show, to let people know that you can have a nervous breakdown but then you can walk back through the door with a twinkle in your eye, and you’re back and you can survive it.

‘I think, especially this day and age, it should be talked about. Luckily enough, Sammyjo can talk about it, which is good for others as well.’

Angels Of The North is available as an eight-part boxset on BBC iPlayer now.

I’m A Celebrity 2019 winner: Jacqueline Jossa victory is one of the biggest upsets in betting history as she beats Andy Whyment in shock result

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! winner Jacqueline Jossa has caused huge upset with bookmakers who have branded her victory ‘one of the worst results in the history of reality TV betting’.

The former EastEnders actress beat favourite Andy Whyment at the final hurdle, despite the Corrie star sailing ahead with the bookies’ odds.

Andy walked into the final with odds of 2-7 while Jacqueline trailed behind on 4-1. When the series launched last month, the mum-of-two was a wild outsider with Coral putting odds of just 16-1 on the Lauren Branning actress.

‘We thought the final had an air of inevitability about it and fully expected Andrew to be crowned King of the Jungle,’ explained Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead. ‘Punters clearly knew more than us though and Jacqueline’s win saw hundreds of Coral customers celebrating a nice early Christmas bonus.’

‘We never really thought she had a chance and that’s why her odds remained so good, even in the latter stages of the series, and punters really cashed in.’

He added: ‘It just goes to show that it’s never over until it’s over and you can’t underestimate the power of the public vote.’

Jacqueline has become the first I’m A Celebrity winner to cancel all live TV interviews after her triumph following rumours her husband Dan Osborne enjoyed a threesome with his Celebrity Big Brother housemates Natalie Nunn and Chloe Ayling, which he’s since shut down.

It was also reported the former Towie star spoke to Jacqueline in unaired scenes to deny accusations he cheated on her with Myles Stephenson’s ex-girlfriend Gabby Allen.

During her exit interview with Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, Jacqueline explained she didn’t want to be seen as a ‘doormat’ and hoped she’d managed to change public perception of herself.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! is available to catch up on ITV Hub.

Phillip Schofield ignores ‘complaint allegations’ and continues presenting This Morning with Holly Willoughby as normal

Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby continued as normal on This Morning despite reports that some presenters have ‘complained about Phil’s behaviour’.

The hosts returned to front the show and didn’t mention allegations that their partnership is strained, with the episode kicking off with them both sat on a Ferris wheel outside the London studios.

Holly and Phil were joined by the likes of Aled Jones, Russell Watson and Martin Lewis over the course of the shows two hours.

According to reports made by The Sun, Phil’s relationship with his co-host Holly has become strained over recent months with the publication also alleging that Ruth Langsford has made an official complaint about the king of daytime television’s attitude.

They also claim a number of ITV presenters have spoken to them about the allegedly ‘toxic’ atmosphere at This Morning, with one household name reportedly saying: ‘For so long people have been silenced because they are scared for their job.

‘If they speak out publicly about the atmosphere they fear there could be repercussions.’

It comes after rumours Phil got Amanda Holden banned from presenting the show. Phil and Holly also apparently clashed when she won a Bafta for filling in for Ant McPartlin on I’m A Celebrity, which Phil didn’t want her to celebrate on This Morning.

A spokesperson for ITV said: ‘It’s deeply disappointing and unfair for Phillip to be the target of this sort of malicious gossip.

‘Phillip is a much-respected broadcaster and colleague and this is absolutely not a description of This Morning that we recognise.

‘Holly and Phil are great friends both on and off-screen and are popular among viewers and colleagues alike.’

Meanwhile, Martin Frizell, Editor of This Morning added: ‘I spend hundreds of days a year in their company and what you see is what you get, a genuine friendship from a couple who are both spontaneously funny and professional.

‘We have the smartest viewers watching telly and believe me they would be the first to notice any issues – they haven’t because there are none.’

This Morning airs weekdays at 10.30am on ITV.

Ruth Langsford throws pen in fury on Loose Women after being cut off by Phillip Schofield in unearthed video

Ruth Langsford and Phillip Schofield’s on-air spat back in April has resurfaced amid reports the Loose Women star has filed a complaint against the This Morning presenter.

The pair were seen clashing in an awkward encounter during a chat between the two studios, in a This Morning segment live connection revealing what was happening later on This Morning.

While it started off OK, with Ruth as the head of the panel of the daily chat show, things soon went awry when Phil cut her off and said: ‘Guys, we are going to have to jump in there and stop you I’m afraid.’

‘We are a bit tight for time on this end,’ he added. ‘Thank you, Ruth. We will catch you guys a little bit later.’

Ruth can be seen throwing her pen across the desk with a massive sigh, before being heard responding: ‘Well I only had about two more words to say… don’t worry.’

Rumours that the pair have been arguing backstage has risen to the surface this weekend amid reports that Ruth has filed a complaint against Phillip – and others have spoken out against him too.

The reports that Phillip had become difficult to work with included a ‘well-known name’ that remained anonymous, and a claim that even his close bond with Holly Willoughby had hit a rough patch.

The Sun claims the name told them: ‘For so long people have been silenced because they are scared for their job.

‘If they speak out publicly about the atmosphere they fear there could be repercussions.’

However, the complaints went ignored on Monday’s episode of This Morning, despite even Good Morning Britain taking a swipe at their ITV Morning rivals and mocking their ‘family’ persona.

A spokesperson for ITV said: ‘It’s deeply disappointing and unfair for Phillip to be the target of this sort of malicious gossip.

‘Phillip is a much respected broadcaster and colleague and this is absolutely not a description of This Morning that we recognise. Holly and Phil are great friends both on and off screen and are popular among viewers and colleagues alike.’

This Morning’s Gino D’Acampo drops X-rated expletive several times in pronunciation struggle live on air

Gino D’Acampo seriously struggled with his pronunciation on today’s episode of This Morning and accidentally dropped a dirty expletive live on air.

The celebrity chef, who hails from Italy, made the blunder in conversation with presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield over the scent of truffles.

‘Not many people like truffle because of the smell,’ Gino began, before going onto explain that if you give the fungus a good old sniff you can get over any distaste for its aroma.

‘For people at home and you don’t like it, do this experiment,’ he continued as he instructed Holly to close her eyes as he tried it out on her. ‘I’m going to open and what I want you to do is to just analate it. Analate it as much as you can.

‘The more you do that, analate…’

But before Gino could continue, Holly and Phil stopped him in his tracks and corrected him.

Gino then attempted to say ‘inhale it’ correctly but stumbled over his pronunciation, causing Phil to urge him to ‘stop’ trying.

Naturally, audiences were in stitches over Gino’s mistake and shared their thoughts on Twitter through tears of laughter.

‘Gino Anal’ing truffle on This Morning is the highlight of my morning,’ wrote one.

Echoing a similar sentiment, another added: ‘Gino D’campo strikes again.’

Viewers were in stitches over Gino D’Acampo’s pronunciation

Elsewhere on today’s show, Holly and Phil continued presenting as normal despite reports that some presenters have ‘complained about Phil’s behaviour’.

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! winner Jacqueline Jossa is ‘fine’ after being crowned queen of the jungle.

Jacqueline triumphed over Coronation Street star Andy Whyment and DJ Roman Kemp in the live final on Sunday night.

Her win came amid allegations that her husband Dan Osborne had cheated on her with fellow camp mate Myles Stephenson’s girlfriend Gabby Allen, claims Dan has denied.

He also squashed rumours he had a three some with his Celebrity Big Brother co-stars Chloe Ayling and Natalie Nunn.

The soap star is said to have been allowed to speak to her other half after Myles reportedly told her about the Gabby claims, and threatened to quit the show altogether.

But according to Andy, Jacqueline is in good spirits – but he did allude to some ‘tough times’ she had in the jungle.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain on Monday, he said: ‘She’s fine, we’ve just done some filming for the Coming Out show. She looks fine, she’s got a magnificent dress on and she’s still got her crown on. She had a tough time in there at times, she’s done really well.’

The mum of two cancelled all TV interviews on Monday to take some time out of the limelight.

Her fellow camp mate James Haskell previously revealed Jac had struggled on the first day of filming.

He told The Sun: ‘She was crying within the first hour of the show. She said she’d been through a lot of hard stuff in life. I don’t know about it.

‘She was saying she wanted to do something for herself. She wants to prove people wrong and make her daughters proud.’

The actress herself suggested that she wanted people to stop seeing her as a ‘doormat’.

‘It’s easy to care so much about what other people think of you. It just doesn’t make sense. In here you have no choice, you have to be you,’ she told hosts Ant and Dec after leaving camp.

‘I’ve always been known as Lauren from EastEnders, like a doormat or whatever you want to call it. I’ve proved myself. People now know me as Jacqueline. Sometimes I worry that I come across harsh.’

I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! Coming Out airs Thursday at 9pm on ITV.

Rod Stewart ‘absolutely shattered’ when he was diagnosed with prostate cancer

Rod Stewart has spoken of the moment he got his devastating prostate cancer diagnosis.

Earlier this year the rock icon revealed he had been battling prostate cancer for the last three years.

He was diagnosed during a routine check-up in 2016, but he fought the disease and has been in remission since July.

The 74-year-old received the bad news with his wife Penny Lancaster by his side and he thanked her for her love and support during the difficult time.

Speaking on Loose Women on Monday, Rod said: ‘We were absolutely shattered, but I had this marvelous specimen of a woman by my side to get me through it.’

He continued to make music and tour while receiving treatment and credited his work ethic will helping him overcome it.

‘I worked for two years knowing it was there. You can’t dwell on it. Be confident and let God take care of the rest,’ Rod said.

He also used the interview to urge men to swallow their pride and get themselves checked.

‘My dad never went to the dentist and he died with no teeth,’ he revealed.

‘Please guys, finger up the bum no harm done.’

Rod is currently on tour and promoting his new album which reworks his classic hits with help from the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

He told host Andrea McLean that he never gets tired of singing his most loved tracks to audiences over and over again – apart from one.

The star confessed: ‘Maybe Do You Think I’m Sexy?. The audience don’t [get tired of it]. What the audience want is what I want.’

Rod also thanked ‘black culture’ for inspiring him in his career.

The Maggie May singer has eight children and has been married to Penny, who was also on Monday’s Loose Women, since 2007.

She has previously discussed what life would be like with her husband, who is 26 years older than her.

‘Rod’s in his 70s, early 70s, and we have a huge family base at home,’ she said.

‘My life is based on the family, Rod, the children, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

‘I do on occasions think, when I’m Rod’s age, I won’t have my husband and the children will be grown up and gone, and I kind of feel that I need to prepare.’

Loose Women airs weekdays from 12.30 on ITV.

Game Of Thrones got only one nomination at the Golden Globes  (Picture: Rex)

Game Of Thrones’ final season has been sensationally snubbed from this year’s Golden Globes nominations – meaning it will now never win the Drama TV series gong.

The show has been previously nominated five times for the award, but has been pipped at the post every time by other shows in their categories.

After failing to get a nomination last year either, this upcoming 2020 ceremony was the last time the HBO fantasy series would qualify – and instead it missed out.

Big Little Lies, The Crown, Killing Eve, The Morning Show and Succession will now battle it out for the award instead.

In previous years, Game Of Thrones has been beaten by Handmaid’s Tale (2017), The Crown (2016), Mr Robot (2015), The Affair (2014) and Homeland (2012).

While the series as a whole has been passed by, one of the actors have been given a nod by the board, with Kit Harington up for Best Actor Award for his role as Jon Snow.

Daenerys and Cersei weigh their options as an epic conflict looms at King???s Landing.
The epic final season hasn’t been enough to impress the awards board (Picture: HBO)

After getting used to facing white walkers and the Battle of the Bastards, surely Tobias Menzies (The Crown), Billy Porter (Pose), Brian Cox (Succession) and Rami Malek (Mr Robot) will be a breeze?

But apart from that, that’s it for the former reigning champion of epic TV.

Meanwhile, Chernobyl has been given four nominations, and The Crown and Fleabag have three each.
