James May reveals why he couldn’t film Our Man In Japan with The Grand Tour’s Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond

James May is going it alone for his new adventure – spending three months in the wonderfully alien Japan for his new solo Amazon Prime Video series, aptly titled Our Man In Japan.

While The Grand Tour is dominated by his co-star Jeremy Clarkson, May takes the wheel – of sorts. In episode one he begins his adventure trying – and sensationally failing – at steering huskies through the snowy Japanese woodland. Much like The Grand Tour, his pursuits are disastrous from start to finish.

However, while TGT is about to embark on a series of road trips abandoning the studio, May spent an entire three months in the land of the Rising Sun and manages to explore as much as one can in 12 weeks, although in a country embedded in so much history and culture relatively obscure to a Western eye, he’s surely only scratching the surface.

It’s a refreshing move for May. He’s completely exposed without his fellow petrolheads and Our Man In Japan is, arguably, all the better for it. And, understandably, it was a much more enjoyable experience for the ‘Captain Slow’ too.

May revealed he spoke mainly to Hammond about his adventure, but explained both his usually partners in crime were amazed he didn’t go insane. But perhaps that’s because they weren’t there with him.

‘Obviously if the three of us had been together I’d have gone completely mad,’ May admitted. ‘But on this we had a very small, very mobile crew of people who get on very well and we romped through it and had a great time. I didn’t even realise how long it was.’

When fans of May’s television CV are used to the chaos of his current blockbuster on Amazon and Top Gear, Our Man In Japan barely mentions cars and the chaos is completely off the road. He’s pelted by snowballs, ends up slaughtering a live octopus (affectionately named Bob) and is almost killed carrying a humongous phallus at the Kanamara Matsuri, Japan’s Penis Festival. So why the change of direction?

‘I’ve always been fascinated by Japan: this was my 10th trip there,’ he said. ‘I’m immensely intrigued by it because it’s a very exciting country. The things that are exciting about it are actually quite the mundane things like going to a shop or going somewhere by train or going to a restaurant because everything looks different in Japan: you can’t read anything, you don’t know anything.

‘Japan has opened up a bit in the last decade and there are more international influences now but it still remains a very mono-cultural country. Japan is very Japanese.’

James May… Our Man In Japan is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video from January 3.

Tallia Storm auditions for X Factor: The Band despite extensive music background

Tallia Storm made an appearance on Simon Cowell’s new show X Factor: The Band, much to the confusion of viewers at home.

The 21-year-old television personality and influencer, who has appeared on Celebs Go Dating and All-Star Driving School, auditioned for a chance to be thrown into the next biggest group and was given the greenlight by the music mogul and Nicole Scherzinger.

However, Tallia has already been in the industry for quite some time.

Having been discovered by Sir Elton John in her early teens, she spent her youth recording in London and LA before releasing her first album Teenage Tears in 2017.

On top of that, Tallia has already released a number of singles, with her latest song Royalty dropping just two months ago.

Back in July, she issued her single Needy Gemini, a month before another track Mind Games.

Other tunes Soulmate and Ring Ring Ring were also released this year, and they join a number of songs already under her roster.

After deciding to sing one of her original tracks, she waited for the judges to deliver their verdict – and they were on the fence about putting her through

‘You’re not the type of person I’d expect to audition for a group,’ Simon said.  ‘I think you’ve over stylised yourself.’

Nicole admitted: ‘I was going to say no, but I’m going to say yes and I’ll tell you why. I like your confidence, I like your attitude.’

Simon added: ‘I think you’re interesting.’

Viewers were left scratching their heads over how Tallia was allowed to audition given her extensive music background.

One person asked on Twitter: ‘I swear Tallia Storm is already a singer? What is happening?’

Echoing a similar sentiment, another added: ‘Isn’t Tallia Storm who just auditioned on the band show already a famous singer? Unfair much.’

X Factor: The Band viewers were confused by Tallia Storm’s appearance

X Factor: The Band is a brand new spin-off and follows Simon as he looks for the next big boy or girl band to sign to his record label.

The show is airing across four days this week, culminating in a live final on Sunday 15 December.

The first few episodes will follow him and fellow judge Nicole audition hopefuls in his office at Sony HQ in London, before heading to the next stage – arena auditions in front of a crowd of thousands in Birmingham.

X Factor: The Band continues tonight at 8.30pm on ITV.

Ruth Jones reveals Gavin and Stacey Christmas special almost got scrapped after writing problems

The long-awaited Christmas special almost didn’t happen (Picture: PA)

Gavin and Stacey fans have been counting down the days until the Christmas special airs, but the long-awaited one-off episode almost didn’t happen at all, according to Ruth Jones.

Ruth, who plays Nessa on the show and is co-creator alongside James Corden, revealed that the pair struggled to write the episode ten years after the last series aired.

She told an audience in Cardiff on Monday night: ‘When we actually reached the point when we were able to announce it, it was such a huge relief because it had been such a big journey to get to that point.

‘It wasn’t easy that week because, bearing in mind we hadn’t written it for years and years. We’d had ideas for characters, lines of dialogue, going back and forth, but we hadn’t sat down and written a script.

‘We weren’t match fit anymore, where before we’d written series after series, three series’ in a row. And you know James and I hadn’t spent that much time together.

‘We’d seen each other and spoken together, but we hadn’t sat down and written for a long time. So there was a lot at stake.

‘We got to halfway through the week… and we hadn’t even got to halfway through the first part of the story. So there’s a lot of rewriting, reshuffling, discussing.’

She admitted that the pair almost scrapped the Christmas special entirely, but inspiration struck at the last minute.

Ruth admitted: ‘One night we thought, let’s just give up, because it just didn’t seem to be… I don’t know, there was something missing and I couldn’t pinpoint it.

‘We had dinner with our partners, and we got talking, something sparked something off, that led one thing to another and, I don’t know how it happened, but out of the blue we just got this idea and I think that was the heart of this Christmas special.’

Ruth, 53, and James, 41, finally finished the plot, and even wrote a fake story line to stop the real one being leaked online, so it wouldn’t be spoiled for fans ahead of the release.

It’s safe to say fans are happy the special is happening, as they’ve been counting down until the release on Twitter. It’s been a long time coming and it’s sure to be worth the wait.

The Gavin and Stacey Christmas Special airs on 25 December at 8.30pm on BBC One.

Game Of Thrones’ Kit Harington brands himself ‘loner Throner’ as show’s only Golden Globe nominee

Game Of Thrones’ Kit Harington has renamed himself the ‘loner throner’ after being given the fantasy series’ one and only nomination at this year’s Golden Globes.

The actor, who played fan favourite Jon Snow on the series, is now the sole representative for the series after every other actor, and the show itself, was snubbed from this year’s shortlist, which was announced yesterday.

Speaking after the nomination announcements, he’s joked he’s now going to book an entire table to himself in honour of his missing co-stars.

He told Hollywood Reporter: ‘I’m the “loner Throner”, it seems. I just imagine myself sitting down at a table all by myself as the “loner Throner!”’

‘Every time I go to say goodbye to this show, something comes along that reminds me of the story of it,’ he later added. ‘This is one of those moments.’

Kit has some stiff competition though if he’s to win the award, as he is up against Tobias Menzies (The Crown), Billy Porter (Pose), Brian Cox (Succession) and Rami Malek (Mr Robot).

Thanking the HFPA for the nomination, actor Kit said: ‘We spent a lot of years with this thing. Obviously, I dearly loved it. I loved every moment of it. I loved the character.

‘It’s a weird feeling, but I feel kind of happy for him, the character, if that makes sense.’

Playing down the show being mostly ignored from the line-up, Kit also praised his scene partners – particularly Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) and Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister), who he was often seen with in the final season.

‘Obviously, I wanted everyone to be nominated, and I feel like they should, as anyone who loves their show and loves their cast and crew would feel and want,’ he said.

‘I’m happy for my nomination, and I’d love the show to be represented [more], but it won an Emmy, and it wasn’t nominated for a Globe. So I’ll represent the show on my own. I’ll do my best.’

Game Of Thrones is available now on DVD and Blu-Ray, and available to stream on NOW TV.

Botched patient demands extra breast implants on head but docs warn it could kill her

Botched has seen some crazy requests during its six seasons, but drew the line on the latest episode when a model requested breast implants on top of her head.

Jolene Dawson, a transgender model and self-proclaimed ‘Bratz Doll’ appeared on the show and asked Dr. Terry Dubrow and Dr. Paul Nassif to give her the unique breast augmentation.

‘I definitely, 100%, without a doubt need an implant in my head,’ Jolene explained. ‘So it would be two breast implants in my head, like two boobs!’

The Australian patient also revealed they had spent $200,000 (£152,100) on their body transformation… ‘but wanted to cap it at a million’.

Despite looking stunning, Jolene then reeled off the numerous tweaks she still wanted done – including a trachea shave, brow bone shave and a jaw shave.

The star was warned ‘not to be a pioneer’ (Picture: E!)

Dr Dubrow later told her: ‘I’m so happy that there are certain procedures that are designed to take you to the next level – the bone shaving, the jawline refinement…

‘But don’t be a pioneer testing the limits of surgery that could kill you.’

Judging from Jolene’s Instagram, she’s decided against getting the implants done.

Before heading onto the show, Jolene – based in Australia’s Gold Coast – has been public about her plastic surgery disasters, including a £5000 nose job that means she refused to leave the house.

She also had her belly button removed in 2018 in a bid to ‘look less human and more like a Bratz doll’.

Botched is available on HeyU.

Piers Morgan claims ‘everyone needs a fat-shamer if you’re fat’ in controversial debate

Good Morning Britain’s Piers Morgan has told audiences that ‘everyone needs a fat-shamer’ if they’re overweight.

The 54-year-old presenter made the comments during a debate about whether or not it is offensive to say the word fat and whether there should be a ban on phrases such as ‘it’s not over until the fat lady sings’.

Piers expressed his feelings as he discussed fitness expert guest Marvin Ambrosius’ incredible five stone weight loss – which he said was triggered by his low mental health rather than being the subject of cruel taunts.

‘We all need a bit of fat-shaming really,’ Piers began.

‘It would never work because I had to go to a negative place,’ Marvin claimed. ‘But that negative place for some people, they don’t have the strength to come out and that is not fair.’

‘Listen, every fat person who ends up losing weight and getting fit does so because of being shamed,’ Piers continued.

Clapping back, Marvin stated: ‘No, it was a personal choice and it was to do with having children, it was to do with getting older, it was to do with health. But it was also to do with the fact that I felt terrible, I literally didn’t want to leave my house.’

‘Because you were fat!’ Piers cried.

‘No, I wasn’t me,’ Marvin insisted.

But Piers didn’t back down on his opinion and went on to say that mental strength should be celebrated.

‘We’re living in a society where weakness is celebrated. We need to get to a place, I believe, where we start to celebrate mental strength and resilience. I think we should be celebrating positive strength, resilience…Get a grip Britain.’

Let’s acknowledge weakness, but also celebrate strength,’ offered co-host Susanna Reid.

‘Everyone needs a fat-shamer if you’re fat,’ Piers quipped.

Viewers had a lot to say about Piers’ remarks on Twitter, with one person slamming his opinions: ‘Please hush. I have the most debilitating illness which actively MAKES me fat. I take daily medication. Fat-shaming will NOT make my body work properly. Just THINK before you speak please.’

Echoing a similar sentiment, another scathed: ‘Be quiet Piers about fat shaming. You are so rude.’

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.

WWE Raw recap: Rusev and Lana get divorced as he makes final demand to face Bobby Lashley

$
0
0

Rusev and Lana have finally got divorced on-screen as WWE’s most divisive soap opera storyline is finally going to make it to the ring.

On Monday Night’s episode of Raw, the real-life couple blurred the lines in a way only the wacky world of wrestling really can and set up a match between the Bulgarian Brute and his love rival Bobby Lashley for this weekend’s Tables, Ladders and Chairs event.

It’s been a long, emotionally charged and (a lot of the time) cringeworthy road, but the two foes will finally clash in an actual match on Sunday, and the contest is one that could justify the often questionable road to get there.

Kicking off last night’s show, Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler presided over the divorce proceedings as Lana arrived with a lawyer in tow while Rusev stepped out alone, continuing his strong t-shirt game with a Donald Duck top this time round. It’s not quite on the same level as his recent Bob Ross homage, but the man has some style!

From the restraining order to the intense brawls and arrests, there’s been a lot to digest, but things continued to move in the right direction.

Bobby Lashley and Rusev brawl-510b

Rusev and Bobby Lashley-3144
Rusev and Bobby Lashley (Picture: WWE)

After Lana blamed the WWE Universe for the failure of her marriage and claimed Rusev was a selfish monster, the pair argued over the dog before she eventually signed the papers first.

Rusev then made a demand – and no, it wasn’t sex, as Lana suspected. He wanted a match with Bobby Lashley, who made his entrance and revealed he’s going to propose to Lana. The papers got signed, and Bobby attacked before Rusev got the upper hand and sent his rival through a table to bring the segment to a climactic conclusion.

While the journey hasn’t been the smoothest, the resulting contest between Lashley and Rusev should be one to watch. There’s no doubt both of them can really go in the ring, and a 10-minute brawl between the pair should be a cracking slug fest – although it remains to be seen if it will be a definitive bout, or if this feud must continue.

Best of the rest

Seth Rollins and AOP-c53d
Seth Rollins and AOP (Picture: WWE)

So, what else went down on Raw?

Well, the other big issue dominating the show recently has been the slow burn as Seth Rollins turned on the locker room – and the audience – after fans started to grow tired of his schtick in recent months.

Finally, it came to a head this week as the Beastslayer fully aligned himself with the monsters in AOP against Kevin Owens, who spent the show targeting Seth and hunting for his supposed teammates.

Seth’s deluded side has been a joy to watch recently and seeing him claim he only joined up with AOP after the fans refused to believe him or appreciate his efforts was a very nice touch. Things have really heated up, and it’ll be fascinating to see where it goes from here after KO was stretchered out and left in an ambulance after the formidable trio came together and beat him down as Seth said the fan’s fiction has become fact.

Quickfire results:

  • Drew McIntyre defeated Matt Hardy in two minutes after bringing his family into it.
  • WWE Raw Tag Team Champions The Viking Raiders beat the Street Profits in a fun three-minute sprint.
  • Aleister Black destroyed Akira Tozawa in just over three minutes, and he’ll face Buddy Murphy at TLC.
  • Humberto Carrillo beat Andrade in a great 11-minute contest after Zelina Vega accidentally cost her client the match.
  • Buddy Murphy build momentum as he pinned Zack Ryder in just two minutes.
  • Becky Lynch could only beat women’s tag champs the Kabuki Warriors by disqualification after 13 minutes, setting up her and Charlotte’s title match at TLC.
  • Erik Rowan (with his mystery pet at ringside) beat a local talent in 1 min 20 seconds via referee stoppage after three claw slams.
  • United States champ Rey Mysterio beat AJ Styles after Randy Orton distracted the latter after almost 13 minutes.

Holly Willoughby fights back tears over meeting Phillip Schofield and This Morning amid ‘rift’ rumours: ‘There’s a lot of history’

What feud? Holly and Phil all smailed at Dancing On Ice launch (Picture: PA)

Holly Willoughby had to fight back tears as she addressed her friendship with Phillip Schofield for the first time since it was claimed the pair had fallen out behind-the-scenes on This Morning.

Reports emerged over the weekend alleging multiple This Morning hosts had filed official complaints against Schofe, who has presented the ITV show for 17 years.

But as TV’s strongest duo, the pair came together for the Dancing On Ice launch yesterday where they swerved any talk of tension in the This Morning family and it almost got too much for the mum-of-three.

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield
Holly and Phil have presented This Morning together for over 10 years (Picture: Rex)

‘Phil and I met on this show. There’s a lot of history. You’re going to set me off,’ she began, choking up.

She continued: ‘My kids really love the show as well.

‘I get quite emotional thinking about it, that all of them were carried in my tummy on this show and when we finished I always went off and had the babies.

‘So now it’s really nice because they love it and I tend to split it, I bring one of them each week, they come for the whole day and sit through the rehearsals. It’s really nice. It’s a real family show.’

Phil joked: ‘You’re not pregnant are you?’ as his co-star welled up.

The pair denied any suggestions of a rift in a separate interview with Newsbeat. ‘You couldn’t do the amount of hours of TV that we do with each other without getting on,’ Holly hit back.

‘We have such a laugh,’ added Phil. ‘We’re best mates, she’s like the sister I never had. I just adore working with her, she’s just perfect.’

While their friendship appears to go from strength to strength, as it stands no other This Morning presenters have come forward to defend Phil.

The Sun reported Ruth Langsford was among the names to have moaned about the ‘toxic’ atmosphere on set while a video of her throwing a pen down in frustration after being cut off by the presenter resurfaced yesterday.

This Morning air weekdays at 10.30am on ITV while Dancing on Ice returns in January on the same channel.

Karl Pilkington’s Sick Of It season 2 teases new love and a very creepy Karl baby

Karl Pilkington is back and his inner voice is being as moody as ever in the first look at Sick Of It season 2.

The comedian’s Sky One sitcom is back for another round as Karl (the character) continues living life with his elderly Aunt Norma, being followed around as always by an alter-ego imaginary version of himself with absolutely no filter.

In a sneak peek at the trailer exclusive to Metro.co.uk, not much has changed to begin with for the character, who is on his hands and knees scrounging for a rogue malted milk biccy that’s disappeared in his car.

‘If I were you, I’d forget about women and just have relationships with biscuits,’ imaginary Karl is seen telling real Karl.

‘Different shapes, sizes… be a bit promiscuous.’

To be fair, that’s the kind of relationship advice we can get behind.

But a spanner is thrown in the works with the arrival of newcomer Ruby, who is there to help out Norma but proves to give Karl a new lease of life in the process.

‘She’s annoying, isn’t she? She’s like having a puppy around the house,’ inner Karl declares.

Along the way, the comedy takes a turn and we end up seeing a baby with Karl’s face as his imagination starts running wild.

… And that’s an image that we won’t be getting out of our head anytime soon.

The biscuit-munching main man is soon fighting against himself and his feelings towards the new woman in his life, as their friendship sees them wind up navigating New York together.

‘When it comes to love, you should listen to your heart. But that’s not my department, isn’t it?,’ inner Karl said.

Has our moody and lonely leading man finally found a new love to bring him some actual joy for once?

The Grand Tour’s James May cheats death as he crashes plane on the runway

The Grand Tour’s James May has revealed how he cheated death after crashing a plane on the runway.

The former Top Gear host and his co-presenters are no stranger to life-threatening accidents, with Richard Hammond ending up in a coma after losing control of a dragstar vehicle in 2002, and this brush with the Grim Reaper was a lucky escape.

Recalling the horror incident, James told Good Morning Britain presenters Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid: ‘I was being overconfident in strong crosswinds in a light aircraft and I thought I could sort this out and get it back, but I was wrong, so it ended upside down.’

‘It was freshly filled with fuel and it was all pouring out,’ he added. ‘We got out very quickly, but there was no fire which was just fortunate.’

‘There was another bloke with me and we were both pretty much unscathed,’ James continued. ‘I bashed my knees up and I was limping for a few days and he got hit on the ear by the flight case.’

When asked whether he thought he was a gonner, James replied: ‘No, as I was coming down, I thought, “I’ll get away with it.”

‘There’s a dangerous point when you’re flying airplanes when you’re ability climbs.’

We admire his confidence…

James, Richard and Jeremy Clarkson are set to return to our screens for The Grand Tour as season four is scheduled to drop in just three days time.

In a savage 30-second clip ahead of the show’s release, James admitted that he ‘didn’t want to be with’ his fellow co-stars as they began their journey on the waters in Vietnam.

‘The boat I chose was an old riverboat, I didn’t think about it that carefully,’ the host said, before going onto reveal how he came close to cheating death again in the series.

‘We were a bit too optimistic about that as well and it turns into a festival of terror.’

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV and James May: Our Man In Japan will be available on Amazon Prime Video on Friday 3 January, whileThe Grand Tour presents: Seamen will be available on Amazon Prime Video on Friday 13 December.

WWE’s Bobby Lashley fires back at haters over Rusev and Lana divorce

Bobby Lashley thinks the divorce saga is the ‘hottest’ thing going in WWE (Picture: WWE)

Bobby Lashley has fired back at haters and insists it’s one of the most exciting and ‘hottest’ things to happen in WWE.

The All Mighty has shrugged off criticism of the ongoing soap opera storyline between himself, the Bulgarian Brute and the latter’s real-life wife Lana, which took another return on this week’s Raw as the pair filed for divorce.

In a defiant response, Bobby exclusively told Metro.co.uk: ‘I’m always dealing with differing opinions so that’s nothing new. It’s part of the business. If the fans watch then they watch, and they know it’s going to be one of the hottest angles we have right now.’

The feud has been a change of pace from a lot of the current angles WWE is featuring on television at the moment, with over-the-top performances from Lana and a real smugness from Bobby every time he steps out with Rusev’s love.

Despite all the naysayers, the live crowds have begun to react in a great way in recent weeks, with huge cheers for Rusev and a torrent of boos directed at his foes.

‘It’s a lot of fun, and being on TV is great,’ Bobby admitted.

‘I came back after beating myself up for 15 years, so to do something a bit different with a storyline on WWE TV is always good.’

Lashley returned to WWE in April 2018 after some time away, and since leaving a decade earlier he wrestled around the world while also competing in the world of mixed martial arts.

With a record of 15-0-2 – including bouts in the likes of Strikeforce and Bellator MMA – the athlete is well placed to offer some words of advice to the likes of boxing world champion Tyson Fury and former UFC star Cain Valasquez as they look to transition into the world of sports entertainment.

Asked how he feels about people making the jump from combat sports, he said: ‘It’s great. Ultimately the more eyes on the product the better. There will be a lot more crossover in the coming months and years I think. For those that do come, though, they need do the training like [Ronda Rousey] and Cain though.’

When it comes to his own career, Lashley still has some clear goals he wants to achieve, both in terms of becoming the top dog with a world championship reign, and with a couple of dream opponents to really give the fans something special.

‘I want to win the Universal title or WWE World title. It has to be with a hot angle though,’ he explained.

‘There are definitely guys I want to get my hands on to put on a show for the crowd – like Brock and Roman. There are lots of things I want to accomplish.’

*WWE: Tables, Ladders and Chairs airs on Sunday, 15th December at 1am on Sky Box Office and the WWE Network.

Dancing On Ice’s H from Steps and Matt Evers tease romance after becoming first same-sex pairing

Dancing On Ice hasn’t even started yet and there’s already a potential romance heating up the ice rink with H From Steps and Matt Evers.

The pair are making ITV history as the first same-sex couple to compete in the competition, going head-to-head with other stars including Love Island’s Maura Higgins, Michael Barrymore and Caprice Bourret.

But on Monday’s glamorous launch day of the series, the pair seemed to let slip that their new partnership has some serious potential for something more romantic… and we’re already gagging about it.

When Kate Thornton asked H – real name Ian Watkins – whether there was a chance of something going on between them, he responded: ‘Look, there’s chemistry, but let’s just see if that…’

Catching himself and what he was saying, he then laughed: ‘Look, why am I even answering this?! You’re digging for dirt!’

H later added: ‘Oh my god he’s so hot, and he’s handsome and I’m in such good hands.’

But it seems that the feeling it just a teensy bit mutual, as Matt later told Kate: ‘This is the first partnership in my career that I’ve had on Dancing On Ice that could possibly be a showmance.’

When Kate made a cheeky note they were “finding their groove” together, Matt awkwardly laughed before adding: ‘Thank you… you!’

During the chat, H said it was him that put forward the idea of a same-sex partnership first.

‘I had the meeting in the summer and I said if this does go ahead, I’d like to be considered with a male partner,’ he explained.

Neither have ruled out a potential romance in the future (Picture: PA)

‘For me it’s important to have someone the right gender for my sexuality.’

‘To be a part of a production and be a part of a network like ITV, and what they’re championing right now, I am so proud,’ Matt added.

‘It feels really good and we feel so supported and loved right now.’

The pair’s rivals are also backing the decision, with Perri Kiely saying: ‘It’s just about time isn’t it? It should be the norm.’

With a seeming dig at Strictly, Joe Swash added: ‘Hopefully it opens the doors for other shows to realise we don’t need to stay in our little molds.’

Dancing On Ice starts early 2020 on ITV.

Friends creator reveals Phoebe almost had alternative ending without Mike

Friends creator David Crane has thrown us a total curveball to reveal Phoebe Buffay almost had an entirely different ending which didn’t involve Mike Hannigan/C**p Bag.

After a decade of colourful dating, because David (played by Hank Azaria) – the love of her life – moved to Minsk to achieve, well, not a lot in the end, Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow) was torn after finding her lobster in Mike (Paul Rudd) only for the scientist to return to the US for good.

But it turns out Phoebe wasn’t the only one who couldn’t make up her mind between the pair. Crane and his co-writer Marta Kauffman were in the same predicament.

David came agonisingly close to becoming Phoebe’s lobster (Picture: Warner Bros.)

‘There was definitely a possibility of [Phoebe ending up with David],’ Crane spilled to the Radio Times. ‘I mean, we didn’t definitively know [who she’d end up with].’

‘They’re both amazing actors,’ he added. ‘I mean, both Paul and Hank are fantastic, and fantastic with her. We sort of went back and forth.

‘I don’t even remember all the pieces that led to where we landed, but yeah, it could have gone the other way. Phoebe would have been great with either one.’

But actually many Friends fans always thought Phoebe would end up with Joey Tribbiani (Matt LeBlanc). Even Lisa Kudrow and Matt LeBlanc reportedly wanted the pair to become friends with benefits at the very least.

But Crane revealed to Metro.co.uk why they were never meant to be.

‘It all would have been too tidy and too complete,’ he told us. ‘When your goal is to keep the six characters’ stories together, it would be really easy to go down that road but I think we all felt it would be a mistake.’

Friends airs daily on Comedy Central.

Kendall and Kylie Jenner on ‘different contracts’ to Kim, Khloe and Kourtney for Keeping Up With the Kardashians

Kourtney Kardashian is embroiled in an almighty row with her sisters, Kim and Khloe, about her decreasing involvement with their reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians in the latest episodes.

Fans have wondered why Kim and Khloe do not have the same energy towards their younger sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner, who haven’t had much screen time in recent seasons.

But it turns out there’s a very good reason and it’s to do with their contracts.

Over the past year, Kendall, 23, and Kylie, 22, have been notably absent from the majority of episodes and even when they do appear, the focus isn’t on their lives as they mostly appear to support their sisters’ narratives.

One fan questioned Khloe about it on Twitter and asked: ‘This ain’t shade AT ALL but do Kendall and Kylie have different contracts now for #KUWTK? cos Kendall rarely films and Kylie isn’t featured a whole lot? [sic].’

Khloe, 35, replied: ‘Kendall and Kylie have different contracts. Kourt, Kim and I have an equal contract.’

That pretty much explains everything.

Kendall and Kylie were aged 11 and 10 when KUWTK first started airing in 2007 and the show is named after their older siblings after all.

During Sunday night’s episode, which aired on E! in the US, Kim and Khloe were seen challenging both Kourtney and their mum Kris Jenner about their nonchalant attitude towards filming.

Kim, 39, said: ‘All of the days that Kourtney isn’t filming, Khloé and I are picking up the slack and having to share more. Because if we’re not sharing our lives, then what is the show?’

But Kourtney later argued: ‘I shared everything from my relationship with Scott [Disick] — everything — to where all these people were involved in my relationship and it was horrible for our relationship.

‘The private moments are so special, and I just need more of them.’

Kourtney, 40, recently confirmed that she will be taking a step back from KUWTK in the next season to spend more time off-screen with her three children, Mason, nine, Penelope, seven, and Reign, four.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight last month, Kourtney said: ‘I just decided to spend more time as a mum and put more of my energy there.

‘But I’m not saying goodbye. I think you’ll have to see more of it on the new season, season 18. It isn’t airing yet, but it’s being filmed. Currently, in this room.’

Despite the recent fighting on the show, Khloe insisted she has nothing but love for her siblings.

‘I love all of my sisters more than anything!!! We may get frustrated with one another at times. We literally are never apart so that’s expected but I will always love them. No matter what nothing will break our bond. Nothing.’

Matt Evers will ‘turn the charm’ on H From Steps during Dancing on Ice after romance hint

Dancing On Ice is about to see some serious flirting going on in the rink – with Matt Evers seemingly about to ‘turn on the charm’ to impress his new dance partner, H from Steps.

H, real name Ian Watkins, signed up to the show on the condition that he be considered for a same-sex pairing, which ITV later agreed on.

Partnered with Matt Evers, the pair have been seen hard at work on their first routine, but suggested when talking to Kate Thornton for Lorraine that they’d be up for taking things a little further.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk about the interview, body language expert Judi James thinks the pair have potential to become the celebrity power couple of the series, even if they haven’t started up just yet.

‘Both men do display some signals of coyness when they’re quizzed on the idea of a romance but it’s H who appears to take the question a little more seriously at first,’ Judi said.

‘His eyes move across to the right, suggesting creative thinking, i.e. he’s considering it, rather than just answering with an instant negative.

‘His lips purse in a suppressed smile and he raised one hand in an emphatic gesture.’

However, she adds that his mood is quick to change to one of fun and humour which may be covering up more than he wants to let on.

‘He spots the fact that the question is a bit of a liberty, his voice rises and one brow is steeped in a look of good-humoured rebuke,’ Judi explained.

‘As he jokingly tells Kate off his eyes perform a cut-off but he also sports a naughty smile with the hint of an excited tongue-poke. He tells Kate Matt is ‘so hot and handsome’, again with the one raised brow.’

The couple have hinted they’d be up for romance (Picture: EmPics)

However, Matt is the one who is a little harder to decipher, and Judi said he ‘wasn’t responding as naturally’ as H did.

She told us: ‘Matt is a lot bolder with his response, using strong eye contact rather than looking away. He seems to be joining in the joke rather than responding naturally and therefore gives less away in terms of true feelings.

‘His body language does look more confident and quite flirty during the interview, so we should look forward to him turning on the charm during their routine.’

The pair made their ice rink debut at the Dancing On Ice launch on Monday at ITV studios, looking like they’re getting the hang of the moves before their first routine is shown live in the first show.

Among the stars they’ll be competing against is Caprice Bourret, Diversity’s Perri Kiely, Joe Swash and Trisha Goddard.

BGUK_1811269 - ** RIGHTS: WORLDWIDE EXCEPT IN UNITED STATES ** Los Angeles, CA - Elizabeth Hurley reveals best onscreen kisser was Matthew McConaughey, as she appears on Watch What Happens Live. When a caller asked the British actress and fellow guest and actor Stephen Dorff whom they most enjoyed kissing on camera, and who they liked kissing least, she didn't hold back. "Best?" Hurley said with a twinkle in her eye. "So many. Maybe Matthew McConaughey." McConaughey and Hurley co-starred in the 1999 comedy EDtv, in which they did 'a lot of kissing,' she told host Andy Cohen. As for her worst kiss, she would only say that it was a German actor she did a movie with once, but wouldn't identify him by name. "We hated each other," she remembered, grimacing. "We had to do a sort of sexy scene and we had to do a lot of snogging. I didn't like it. Horrible." Hurley was visiting the show to promote the third and final season of her Hulu show, Marvel's Runaways, while Dorff was there in advance of his new show, Deputy, airing in the US in January 2020. "Susan Sarandon was a good onscreen kiss," he noted, recalling that he'd co-starred with the actress in HBO's 1999 film Earthly Possessions. Dorff then flirted with Hurley as they spoke to Cohen, marveling at an old photo of her in a pink leather outfit and offering to quit smoking for her, after she said she couldn't date a smoker. Cohen then asked the actress about a 'super sexy' picture taken of her in which she wore just a bedsheet, and she wouldn't tell him who took it. He also showed her a picture of her look-alike son Damian Hurley, 17, and asked if the teen was modeling. "He's still in full-time school but he's allowed to do a little bit in the holidays, with Mommy's permission," she said. Hurley has been a frequent traveler, and Cohen displayed photos of her vacations to Austria, the Himalayas, and India. She then replied 'yes' when asked if vacation sex was better than sex at home. *BACKGRID DOES NOT CLAIM ANY COPYRIGHT OR LICENSE IN THE ATTACHED MATERIAL. Lewis Capaldi revealed he was turned down for Britain’s Got Talent before becoming the biggest selling artist in the UK – and he had a bone to pick with Amanda Holden.

The 23-year-old – who was forced to stop a recent performance as a brawl broke out at one of his shows this week – awkwardly spilled the tea during Amanda’s Heart FM Radio Show with Jamie Theakston today and, understandably, she was just as shook as you are.

‘I did go on Britain’s Got Talent,’ the Someone You Loved chart-topper began.

‘Amanda, I went on Britain’s Got Talent and I went to the auditions, and I went up and I sang White Blank Page by Mumford & Sons and I went on and they said to me, they said to me Amanda, “Oh Lewis that was so great, that was lovely, we loved that” and I said, “thank you so much for saying that”.

‘And then I got a phone call saying, “Lewis that was great we’re going to put you through, and we’re going to try and hurry it through.” Then I never received another phone call again.’

‘OMG we turned down Lewis Capaldi!’ Amanda gasped.

The singer joked: ‘What they actually said to me, they said to me “Amanda Holden saw your audition tape and she hates you, on a molecular level she despises you.”’

‘Can you imagine,’ the BGT judge pondered, but imagining is all we have – thanks, Amanda.

The actress’s blow comes after she weighed in on the ongoing Phillip Schofield versus his This Morning co-stars saga after it’s been alleged multiple hosts have complained about the 57-year-old.

Amanda famously claimed Phil blocked her from replacing Holly Willoughby while the mum-of-three was presenting I’m A Celebrity and during her radio show yesterday it was clear the bad blood isn’t going anywhere.

Tune in to Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden weekdays from 6.30am – 10am.

Stranger Things fans spot something suspect with the Wonder Woman 1984 trailer

Stranger Things fans have spotted something interesting about the new trailer for Wonder Woman 1984.

Gal Gadot’s superhero is back for a sequel with the time period jumping forward to the 80s from 1918 when the first movie is set.

Wonder Woman will be facing off against two new foes this time round: Max Lord and The Cheetah.

One scene caught the eye of a fan on Reddit who shared a picture of the shopping mall that appears.

Stranger Things fans noted that it looked a bit similar to Starcourt Mall, the fictional shopping centre that was a focal point in season three of the Netflix show.

The original poster added that: ‘It isn’t the same Mall they shot ST3 in, but the vibes fit 10/10 to Starcourt.

‘WW also takes place in 1984 and ST3 in 1985.’

Another Reddit user explained that the building is a real place – Landmark Mall in Alexandria, Virginia.

‘It has fallen almost completely into disrepair and disuse,’ they said.

‘Not sure the WW buzz can save it, I think the age of Malls is over.’

One fan said in the replies: ‘It’s funny though how they both have a Waldenbooks, must have been popular.’

In Stranger Things season three fans were introduced to Starcourt and the various shops that existed there, including Scoops Ahoy where Steve (Joe Keery) worked alongside Robin (Maya Hawke).

In the first Wonder Woman a different Steve (Chris Pine) saved the world from destruction by sacrificing his own life.

Ashley Graham compares pregnancy to ‘living in a sci-fi movie’ with only one month to go before birth

Ashley Graham is closing in on her eighth month of pregnancy and looked absolutely glowing as she appeared on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.

Owning feeling ‘large and in charge’ in a form-fitting floral dressed, the star couldn’t help but cradle her baby bump as she waits patiently for the arrival of her first baby.

But in a classic Ashley move, she wasn’t afraid to be blunt about how she was finding growing a literal human in her belly – comparing it to a ‘sci-fi movie’ as she felt her baby move around.

At one point, she even stopped the interview as her little boy leaned on her bladder, causing her to sit awkwardly and struggle to get comfy.

She told Jimmy: ‘It’s like a little sci-fi film every day. There’s like a little alien taking over my stomach.

‘I swear he’s on a treadmill, and like, one day, he’s just gonna be running out of me. At least that’s what I’m hoping!,’ she said.

Ahead of the arrival of her baby, Ashley threw one hell of a baby shower which was as untraditional as you could get.

BGUK_1811360 - ** RIGHTS: WORLDWIDE EXCEPT IN UNITED STATES ** Los Angeles, CA - Ashley Graham shows off her huge baby bump in stunning floral dress as she appears on The Tonight Show. The eight month's pregnant model sat down with host Jimmy Fallon and jokingly declared she was feeling 'large and in charge'. Ashley was on the show to talk about her new Vogue cover and the second season of her podcast, Pretty Big Deal - but the baby was clearly the center of attention. "'It's like a little sci-fi film every day," Ashley offered while wearing a sleeveless floral-print maternity dress. "There's like a little alien taking over my stomach, and I swear he's on a treadmill, and like, one day, he's just gonna be running out of me. At least that's what I'm hoping!" She told Fallon she'd had a 'non-traditional' co-ed baby shower, filled with piercings, tattoos and gifts of vaginal cream. "How many piercings do you have?" Fallon asked. "I have 17 holes," she replied, adding: "In my ears." Fallon then showed her the January 2020 cover of Vogue, on which she was featured pregnant in a gold dress. "It was a remarkable day," Ashley said of the shoot. "It reminded me that anything is possible. A girl like me from Nebraska can have anything you want, as long as you just fight for it, and you believe in yourself. You can be on the cover of Vogue! And it's a semi-solo cover. Semi-solo." She then paused the interview to shift the baby whose head , she revealed, was pressing on her bladder! "I've got one month left," she noted. Jacqueline Jossa has been reunited with her husband Dan Osborne and her daughters after being crowned champion of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here on Sunday night.

The former EastEnders actress fought off competition from fellow soap star Andy Whyment to take the Queen Of The Jungle title, after conquering her fears and overcoming some tough times in camp.

But unlike previous winners of the show, she’s been keeping a low profile since then, doing no interviews about her victory – and not even appearing on Lorraine on Monday (as the show’s champions normally do).

So why is Jacqueline not doing any interviews? Here’s what you need to know…

Why is Jacqueline Jossa not doing any interviews after winning I’m A Celebrity?

No official reason was given as to why Jacqueline Jossa decided to take a back seat from interviews after winning I’m A Celebrity.

However it came amid claims from fellow campmate Myles Stephenson that Dan had cheated on her with Gabby Allen, claims Dan has denied.

Dan also squashed rumours he had a threesome with his Celebrity Big Brother co-stars Chloe Ayling and Natalie Nunn, calling the claims ‘shocking’ while a rep for the former Towie star told metro.co.uk he was seeking ‘legal advice’.

It was reported that Jacqueline was allowed to speak to Dan after Myles reportedly told her about the claims, and even threatened to quit the show altogether.

Sources have said she wanted to spend time with her family after coming out of the jungle, while also filming for Thursday night’s I’m A Celebrity…Coming Out.

‘She has to film for the ‘coming out’ show which airs later this week, so cancelled all other TV offers like GMB and Lorraine to spend more time with the family,’ a source told the Mirror.

‘Jacqueline and Dan spent time together in the hotel and probably had a lot to talk about.’

It emerged that Jacqueline was not doing any interviews when she did not appear on Lorraine Kelly’s show on Monday morning – with the presenter addressing her absence as she chatted to Roman Kemp.

‘I know she’s not doing interviews – I hope she’s having a bubble bath!’ Lorraine quipped.

Meanwhile, Andy Whyment told Good Morning Britain on Monday: ‘She’s fine, we’ve just done some filming for the Coming Out show. She looks fine, she’s got a magnificent dress on and she’s still got her crown on. She had a tough time in there at times, she’s done really well.’

When is I’m A Celebrity…Coming Out on?

The show airs on Thursday 12 December on ITV at 9pm.

It runs for 55 minutes ahead of ITV’s General Election coverage which kicks off at 9.55pm.
