Back in 2000, the company joined the New York Stock Exchange, and put up a wrestling ring with the likes of ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, Triple H and Kurt Angle there to mark the new era.
Speaking on his own Something To Wrestle With podcast, WWE executive Bruce Prichard said: ‘Vince wanted to put a ring in the middle of Wall Street. Shut Wall Street down and put a ring there, and have matches at noon. Huge spectacle, we’re gonna go live on WWF.com.
‘So it’s like, okay, cool. I thought he was just kind of telling me this. So I knew that, “Okay, we need to put on a show, we need to come up with something”.
‘But what he was telling me was, “Hey, I want to do this, get it done”. As he trails off, he goes, “And I want a bear. I want The Rock to wrestle a bear”. The Brahma Bull versus the bear.’
You know, as you do!
Naturally, there were some concerns about this, with Bruce realising the issues with the stunt.
‘First of all, you had the animal rights activists that would not look kindly on a wrestling bear. Even though the human rights activists probably should have been alarmed. Because trust me, the bear always goes over,’ he added.
‘So anyway, as we’re getting closer to this, the idea becomes, “Well, do you really want a bear hanging around on the New York Exchange the day your stock goes public?” “Well, the bear was out today on the New York Stock Exchange”.
‘No, you don’t want that. You want the Brahma Bull.’
Thankfully, the event was a roaring success – just without a giant grizzly crashing the party.

The couple, who are portrayed by Eddie Marsan and Monica Dolan in the four-part series, were able to claim life insurance money to clear their enormous debt and somehow managed to convince everyone of their lies for years.
They both landed in prison for their crimes, with their sons publicly denouncing their parents after being tricked for years that their father had died.
So what happened to John leading up to his faked death, in the aftermath of him ‘going missing’, being caught and sent to jail?
When did John Darwin fake his own death?
In the early 2000s, the Darwins were experiencing severe debt, so much so that they were on the verge of having to declare bankruptcy.

In addition to John working as a prison officer and Anne as a doctor’s receptionist, they also ran bedsits and had bought two houses in Seaton Carew in 2000, which contributed to their financial troubles.
So, John decided to come up with an unbelievable course of action, concocting a plan to fake his death and have Anne claim the life insurance money.
They enacted his plot in March 2002, when he was seen paddling out to sea in his famous canoe.
The wreckage of the boat was found the next day after an expansive search, leading to him being presumed dead.
Where did John Darwin live?
One of the most bizarre parts of the case – and there are many to choose from – is that John was right under the police force’s nose years before he was discovered.

After feigning his demise, he moved into the property next door to his house with Anne, as they had bought the conjoining house as part of their bedsit business.
During an appearance on This Morning on Tuesday April 19, journalist David Leigh – who broke the story about John’s faked death – recollected jokingly asking Anne if John had been hiding in the garden shed, to which she replied that while he was ‘close’, he was slightly off the mark… as he had been next door.
John eventually convinced Anne to move with him to Panama, as she informed her sons (who believed their father was dead) that she wanted to make a fresh start abroad.
However, while trying to plan the launch of a new business in the region, John found out that in accordance with Panama’s visa laws, he would need to have his identity verified by police in the UK.
How did John Darwin get caught?
There were several contributing factors to John being caught, one of them being that when he and Anne were in Panama, they had their photo taken at a property agent’s office.
The picture – taken in 2006, four years after John’s supposed death – was uploaded onto the internet, which eventually made its way into the newspapers.
The actors’ recreation of the property agent office photo was uncanny (Picture: PA/ITV)
Having duped the authorities for years, in 2007, John’s visa issue in Panama resulted in him making the game-changing decision to return to the UK and go to the police to identify himself, claiming that he had amnesia.
The police were already investigating Anne at that time, as some questioned whether her actions contradicted the fact that she was supposed to be a grieving widow, while a colleague of hers had also become suspicious of her after hearing a phone conversation she had with John.
John was arrested at one of his son’s houses in Basingstoke, while Anne was arrested at Manchester Airport upon her return to the UK from Panama.
How long did John Darwin get in prison?
In July 2008, both John and Anne were convicted of fraud.
Eddie delivers a convincing performance as the scheming mastermind behind the plan (Picture: PA/ITV)
John, who pleaded guilty, was sentenced to six years and three months in prison, while Anne, who stuck to a not guilty plea, was sentenced to six years and six months behind bars.
What’s more, Anne was placed in jail at HM Prison Low Newton, where serial killer Rose West has been since 1995.
John was released on probation in January 2011, while Anne was released two months later.
Is John Darwin still with his wife?
Having been married since 1973, the unravelling of the faking of John’s death also saw the Darwins get divorced.
John remarried in 2015 to Mercy Mae Darwin, who is 23 years his junior.
They live in Manila in the Philippines, where they work together on a market stall.
Anne, meanwhile, is retired and living in the north of England, remaining in close contact with her two sons and four grandchildren.
The Thief, His Wife and The Canoe returns tonight at 9pm on ITV and is available to watch on ITV Hub.

A fresh glimpse into his new HQ reveals the snazzy set designed by TalkTV executive director Erron Gordon and Emmy award-winning designer Jim Fenhagen.
The space boasts a 360-degree design to allow shooting from every angle – so all those inevitable viral moments can be captured entirely – as well as an LED archway that has never been seen on a British TV news programme.
Gordon said: ‘I began with an absolutely blank canvas in terms of the studio space – with the simple vision to create something as unique as the show itself.
‘Knowing Piers Morgan Uncensored will be broadcast across three continents, we have created a truly state-of-the-art environment containing unique design elements not yet seen in British TV news.’

He added: ‘Using the LED screens and lighting, the studio environment can be turned from the Piers Morgan Uncensored look into any other environment; we will utilise this working with Piers to create special event programming. The space is uniquely flexible.’
Scott Fleary has taken charge of set construction after working on some of the most recognisable sets, including Britain’s Got Talent, The Voice and The Masked Singer.
‘You shouldn’t be shamed or vilified or cancelled for having an opinion, unless you genuinely are spewing hateful bigoted stuff,’ Piers told Metro.co.uk recently.
‘I don’t intend to do that; I’ve never done that before in my broadcasting time. I want to be a broad church to any kind of view.’
The broadcaster also stressed he wants his new show to ‘re-platform those who have been de-platformed’.
Piers Morgan Uncensored, launches on TalkTV on April 25 at 8pm, giving him a platform to share his views without a filter.

Jim Fitzpatrick auditioned in a home-made crow costume (Picture: Syco/Thames/ITV)
Britain’s Got Talent bosses have insisted that no offence was intended after a man called Jim appeared dressed as a crow to perform a dance routine.
While 63-year-old Jim Fitzpatrick, who auditioned in a home-made crow costume, was not referred to as Jim Crow at any point in the show, some viewers made a connection with the laws that enforced racial segregation in the US.
A spokesperson for BGT told Metro.co.uk: ‘At no point during his audition was Jim Fitzpatrick referred to as Jim Crow.
‘No offence was intended with the performance and BGT is proud to be a diverse and inclusive show, amplified through moments like the BAFTA award winning Diversity performance shown in the last series.’
Jim had appeared on multiple previous series of Britain’s Got Talent, dressed as a cat, a boat and an alien in 2017, dancing for the judges.
He returned in 2018 dressed as a grandfather clock, and 2019 saw him don a disco-themed outfit with a full mask yet again.
Jim had previously auditioned in a host of different costumes in years past (Picture: ITV / Britain\’s Got Talent)
For 2022’s show Jim the dancer, as he is also known, had fashioned an elaborate home-made costume of a human-sized crow, completely covering him from head to toe, before being given four ‘nos’ from the judges.
Although the connection was purely coincidental, his name and his outfit being a crow made some viewers make the connection to Jim Crow.
The laws, which existed in the Southern US states, enforced racial segregation in the late 19th century.
The phrase is thought to have originated from ‘Jump Jim Crow’, a song and dance caricature performed by white actor Thomas D. Rice in blackface, which first surfaced in 1828.
As a result of the singer’s fame, the term Jim Crow became a pejorative expression by 1838.

The star was remaining positive post-surgery (Picture: Twitter/Channel 4)
First Dates barman Merlin Griffiths has provided an update to his fans and followers as he recovers in hospital following surgery to have his tumour removed, joking that he was still ‘alive’.
‘Thank you #NHS for literally saving my life,’ he tweeted on Friday, alongside a selfie of him in his hospital bed and a picture of an operative machine used for surgery.
He had earlier posted a picture of himself in bed on Instagram, writing in the caption: ‘2am. Tubes outta everywhere. Aches and pains. But no tumour!’
On Monday afternoon, the reality star took to Twitter with another hospital bed selfie.
Wearing both a hospital gown and dressing gown, the reality star gave a cheery thumbs up to camera as he smiled.
‘Almost there. Another day and then off home,’ he captioned the photo, adding the hash tags ‘#bowelcancer’ and ‘#stoma’ as well as the rather tongue-in-cheek ‘#alive’.
One fan commented that they were ‘glad for’ Merlin as they shared their father had recently left hospital with a stoma.

Bowel Cancer Awareness Month takes place in April, with the professional barman and pub owner having raised awareness for it in previous posts.
Merlin announced last month that he was preparing to have surgery, having explained that his stage three tumour was detected after he went to hospital with symptoms including bloating and nausea.
Sharing their support and love for the popular Channel 4 reality TV star, actress and former First Dates star Chrissie Wunna commented a series of hearts under his Instagram post, as did waitress Cici Coleman.
Fans also rushed to comment with support and well-wishes, with many sharing hearts and support for his recovery.

Tracy-Ann Oberman (right) got RuPaul’s (left) most famous phrase wrong (Picture: World of Wonder / Channel 4)
Celebrity Bake Off viewers were left less than impressed after contestant Tracy-Ann Oberman repeatedly got one of her hero RuPaul’s most famous sayings wrong.
The actress, 55, was among the stars taking part in The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer, when they were tasked with making a biscuit likeness of their hero.
Tracy-Ann chose Drag Race icon RuPaul, 61, for her bake of choice, fashioning the drag queen and presenter out of biscuits and icing.
While the finished product managed to channel Ru’s sassy energy and huge wig, there was one part of the experience which didn’t go down to well with fans.
Despite Tracy-Ann decreeing that RuPaul was her hero, she managed to get one of Mama Ru’s most famous sayings wrong every single time.
A phrase so famous RuPaul has said it in hundreds of episodes of Drag Race…
Her bake was pretty decent, even if her catchphrase was not (Picture: Twitter)
Attempting to say RuPaul’s famous saying: ‘If you can’t love yourself, how in the hell you gonna love somebody else,’ Tracy-Ann managed to make up a phrase of her own.
Tracy-Ann’s version came out to be ‘if you can’t love yourself, nobody else will love you’ – which didn’t go amiss with viewers.
Sorry but if Tracey quotes Ru Paul wrong one more time Iâm going to smash her bake up #gbbo love u tho
— Tracy-Ann Oberman ðºð¦ (@TracyAnnO) April 19, 2022
They took to Twitter to say: ‘Screaming that ultimate hun Tracey-Ann Oberman just got her hero RuPaul’s most famous quote wrong.’
Others added: ‘“If you don’t love yourself no one else is ever gonna love you” – Rupaul Charles Andre … apparently’ and ‘Remember if you can’t love yourself then others are going to find it difficult to love you or something like that.’
One joked: ‘”If you cant love yourself, nobody else will love you”. Yep that’s totally how that saying goes. 100%.’
Despite her faux-pas with the saying itself, Tracy-Ann’s bake did impress the judges nonetheless.

A few classic moments from Father Ted were lovingly included in Derry Girls (Picture: Channel 4)
Derry Girls viewers were delighted to spot a few nods to a particularly epic episode of classic Irish sitcom Father Ted in Wednesday’s second instalment of the third and final series.
With Erin (Saoirse-Monica Jackson), Clare (Nicola Coughlan), Michelle (Jamie-Lee O’Donnell), Orla (Louisa Harland) and James (Dylan Llewellyn) attempting to win a song competition, which would see them allowed to perform on national television for Children in Need, the squad gets to work on their chosen record.
This then set the scene for a few odes to the well-beloved Father Ted episode A Song for Europe, in which Dougal (Ardal O’Hanlon) is beset by ‘Euro-song fever’, and convinced that he and Ted (Dermot Morgan) should bid to represent Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest.
Michelle is spurred on by a fierce need to beat rivals Jenny Joyce and Aisling in Derry Girls’ contest, and the group is shown rehearsing in Erin’s bedroom, where the twin beds and loudly patterned wallpaper and carpet were strongly reminiscent of the utter chaos in which Ted and Dougal try to write and practice their song for Eurovision, My Lovely Horse.
So too was Michelle’s sheer rage at the others failing to nail the dance moves.
‘Did anyone spot the Father Ted, My Lovely Horse rehearsal nod?’ tweeted one viewer, while another commented: ‘Loved the Father Ted Derry Girls scene!’
However, that was not the only Father Ted reference.
Carrying on the parallels with A Song for Europe, where Ted and Dougal don those iconic blue glittery jackets to perform their song (the melody of which they end up nicking, wrongly assuming no one will ever figure it out), Father Peter (Peter Campion) went for a sparkly pink number in Derry Girls.
Acting as a self-appointed Matthew Kelly for the school’s ‘Starz in Their Eyes’ contest, Peter is loving life in his outlandish gear, with viewers dubbing the moment equally as ‘iconic’ as that in Father Ted.

Or as another put it: ‘Where would Irish priest fashion be without @Channel4 #DerryGirls #FrTed.’
Creator Lisa McGee seemingly confirmed the Father Ted crossover by retweeting a few of the tweets pointing to the similarities and adding ‘Save Channel 4’ in reference to the government’s recently announced plans to privatise the broadcaster.
The gang delighted fans in the episode with their rendition of the Spice Girls’ Wannabe, as the series continued to deliver class moments, hot on the heels of Liam Neeson’s incredible cameo in the first episode.
Let’s not forget too, that Father Ted’s Ardal O’Hanlon made an appearance in Derry Girls last season as Eamon, son of Aunt Birdie.
Derry Girls continues on Tuesday at 9pm on Channel 4.

Thomasin takes the lead in the BBC’s latest period drama (Picture: BBC/Rex)
Life After Life has kicked off on BBC Two, bringing to our screens the story of young woman Ursula Todd, who dies and is reborn time and again.
The four-part period drama plays out against the backdrop of both World Wars.
Based on the novel by Kate Atkinson, Life After Life is the first of two books about the Todd family, with A God in Ruins acting as a companion piece, rather than direct sequel, and focusing on Ursula’s brother Teddy.
The adaptation boasts an impressive cast including Fleabag’s Sian Clifford and Mare of Easttown’s James McArdle as Ursula’s parents, alongside Downton Abbey’s Jessica Brown Findlay, Joshua Hill and Patsy Ferran.
Thomasin McKenzie stars as Ursula, but who is she and what has she been in before?

He was fined by the Metropolitan Police along with wife Carrie Symonds and chancellor Rishi Sunak for celebrating in the cabinet room while the country was under orders not to socialise.
Discussing the speech, Phil began: ‘Following the Prime Minister’s apology in Parliament yesterday for breaking his own lockdown laws, forgiveness is the subject of our phone-in today.’
After showing the clip of the Prime Minister apologising, Holly introduced their ‘forgiveness’ segment, asking ‘What sort of things could people get in touch with?’
Phil quipped: ‘Boris could call, couldn’t he?’ with Holly jokingly adding: ‘Yes, Boris why don’t you give us a call?’

Later in the show, Phil asked: ‘Has he apologised enough?’ as he joked over a compilation video of all the ‘apologies’ the Prime Minister made in his speech.
Yesterday, Mr Johnson had said: ‘I paid the fine immediately and offered the British people a full apology.
‘I take this opportunity on the first available sitting day to repeat my whole-hearted apology to the House.
‘As soon as I received the notice [from the Met] I acknowledged the hurt and the anger and said that people had a right to expect better of their prime minister and I repeat that again now.
‘Let me also say, not by way of mitigation or excuse, but purely because it explains my previous words in this House, that it did not occur to me then or after that a gathering just before a vital meeting on Covid strategy could amount to a breach of the rules.
‘That was my mistake and I apologise for it unreservedly.’
The PM will also be subjected to an unprecedented vote later this week on whether or not he misled parliament, a potential resignation issue.
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.

Sophie was among the stars taking part in The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer, where they were tasked with making a biscuit likeness of their hero.
The 43-year-old did not disappoint, as she produced a pretty close resemblance to the real Kathy, who labelled it ‘the dream [she] never knew [she] had.’
‘To be immortalised in biscuit form is the dream I never knew I had,’ the actress and comedian penned.
‘Prue said it was really nice and slim so not overwhelming – just like me!

Tracy-Ann and Sophie were up against comedian Mawaan Rizwan, who had a rather dramatic jam roly-poly moment, and singer Ellie Goulding, whose David Attenborough replica scored her star baker.
Tracy-Ann chose Drag Race icon RuPaul for her bake of choice, fashioning the drag queen and presenter out of biscuits and icing.
While the finished product managed to channel Ru’s sassy energy and huge wig, there was one part of the experience which didn’t go down too well with fans.

Liam Neeson made an incredible cameo in Derry Girls but it doesn’t look like Girls Aloud’s Nadine Coyle will be following suit (Picture: Channel 4/Getty )
Derry Girls legend Siobhán McSweeney has responded to Nadine Coyle’s wish to appear in the show.
And sorry, Girls Aloud fans, but it’s not looking good.
Michael Collins star Liam isn’t the only celebrity keen for a cameo in the acclaimed sitcom: Popstars icon and real-life Derry girl Nadine told Metro.co.uk in an interview last year that she would love to appear in an episode.
In fact, Nadine was such a fan that she had even ‘thought of all the different kinds of roles that I could play,’ suggesting she could ‘probably put a uniform on’.
Now that the show is finally back on our screens, there hasn’t been any big reveal about Nadine making an appearance – and judging by Sister Michael’s reaction, it’s not going to happen.
Siobhán had a fairly Sister Michael-esque response to pop star Nadine’s cameo hopes (Picture: Peter Marley)
Siobhán spoke to Metro.co.uk about bidding farewell to the show and what was to come, and of course, we had to mention that we had it ‘on very good authority’ that Nadine would love a Derry Girls cameo.
To which Siobhán, in pure Sister Michael fashion, replied: ‘I also heard it on good authority that I’d like to be a singer in a girl band.
‘We’ve all got to live within our limits.’
Nadine is super keen for a Derry Girls stint (Picture: Channel 4 / SWNS)
‘The audacity!’ Siobhán teased, joking she would rock up to Washington DC and tell President Joe Biden she was ‘in town if he needs anybody’.
Siobhán spoke about her own arduous journey to becoming a trained actor, and said she ‘got into debt going to drama school and disappointed my parents so immensely’.
‘One of the last conversations I had with my mother as she lay dying was “would I not go back and do the H-Dip (higher diploma)?'”‘
Siobhán recalled how her parents weren’t exactly thrilled by her passion for acting and encouraged her to return to education (Picture: Getty Images)
To fans’ immense relief, Siobhán did not go back to do the H-Dip and instead stormed onto our screens as the absolutely iconic Sister Michael, whose dry comments and eye-rolls made her a fan favourite of the series.
The Cork native also played a lead role in the recent TV adaption of Graham Norton’s crime drama Holding, presents Channel 4’s Great Pottery Throwdown, and is set to star in upcoming Disney Plus superhero series Extraordinary.
In her Metro.co.uk interview, Nadine recalled her own secondary school in Derry had its own ‘Sister Michael’ – though the students didn’t find her as funny as Siobhán’s character.
Nadine went on to be in Girls Aloud, one of the most successful girl bands of all time (Picture: Getty Images)
‘She was not like Sister Michael at all! I’m sure she might have been [funny], in her own way, but we were just afraid of her,’ she said.
‘We didn’t see the funny side of Sister Christopher. At all.’
The third and final series of Derry Girls continues to impress viewers, from that incredible cameo to a genuinely excellent Spice Girls routine and a few wee nods to Father Ted.
Derry Girls continues on Channel 4 next Tuesday at 9.15pm.

The WWE superstar grew up idolising the Hall of Famer, and he ended up battling the Texas Rattlesnake earlier this month in his first match in 19 years in a real dream come true moment.
Reflecting on the moment he found out he was working with his childhood hero, he exclusively told Metro.co.uk: ‘Vince told me a little while ago.
‘My reaction was quiet jubilation because I was in Vince’s office, but I may have said a few swear words to him – positively! It was really surreal.’
The former Universal Champion has made no secret of his admiration for Stone Cold, and he would put himself ahead of anyone else claiming to be Austin’s ‘biggest fan’.
Speaking one day before their clash at WrestleMania, he added: ‘As cliche as it sounds – everybody’s like, “I’m the biggest fan, I’m the biggest fan, I’m the biggest fan”. Anybody who says they’re a bigger Stone Cold fan than me are in for a fight.
‘If you saw my room at the time – if you talk to Sami [Zayn], you can ask him. Floor to ceiling, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin on one side, other superstars here and there, but Stone Cold was top.’
He insisted he was even a fan of the legendary star’s earlier runs, and he was stunned – no pun intended – by the idea of sharing the ring with him.
KO even hit Stone Cold with a Stunner in Dallas (Picture: WWE)
‘It’s funny, ’cause I was a fan of his from the start. He came in as the Ringmaster, and even he would probably say it wasn’t a great time in his career,’ he laughed.
‘I loved him as The Ringmaster! And then he became Stone Cold and he was on another level.
‘But I was always a huge fan of his. He’s my favourite wrestler of all time, and now I get to be in the ring with him at WrestleMania. I don’t know how much better it could get!’
KO re-signed with WWE towards the end of 2021, and while he didn’t know where he’d be a few months later, he’s glad to see his WrestleMania moment set to be so special.
He told us: ‘One thing’s unrelated to another – or it terms of me signing anyway. But it’s obviously – to get to be the one to do it, there’s a lot of very talented and competent WWE superstars out there.
‘For me to be the one in this situation, it’s a huge honour and I don’t take it lightly.’
WWE Raw airs Monday nights at 1am on BT Sport 1.

Eamonn Holmes has come out all guns blazing in a savage attack against Prince Harry, dubbing his surprise visit to the Queen as ‘sneaky’ and questioning why the Duke of Sussex believes the Queen needs ‘the right people around her’.
In a new interview with NBC Today presenter Hoda Kotb, Harry said that his grandmother – who turns 96 years old tomorrow – was ‘on great form’ when he and Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex paid her a visit in the UK ahead of the Invictus Games.
‘She’s always got a great sense of humour with me and I’m just making sure she’s protected and got the right people around her. Both Meghan and I had tea with her, so it was really nice to catch up with her,’ he said.
His remark about him making sure the Queen is ‘protected’ has sparked strong reactions from some individuals baffled by the meaning behind it, including Good Morning Britain’s Kate Garraway and Eamonn on GB News.
Reacting to the interview on his breakfast news programme alongside Isabel Webster, the presenter brought up the speculation that Harry is ‘going to write a book in which he’s going to slag off his dad and his stepmum as well’.
‘And also the sneaky nature of which they got into the country last week, they go and see the Queen,’ he said, as Isabel pointed out that Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, was out of the country at the time.
Eamonn was highly critical of Harry’s latest interview (Picture: GB News)
Following Harry and Meghan’s visit to see the Queen, there have been reports that the couple have been invited to appear on the balcony of Buckingham Palace for the monarch’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
While hosting their GB News show on Wednesday, Eamonn questioned ‘how on earth they could share the same platform’ as other members of the royal family if he’s going to write about them in his book.
It’s believed Harry and Meghan have been invited on the Buckingham Palace balcony for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee (Picture: Getty)
‘He’s bringing a book out where he’s slagging off Camilla and maybe William and his father. How on earth… why wouldn’t they just throw him over the balcony and her with him?’ he stated, referring to Meghan as ‘Princess Pinocchio’.
Eamonn continually brought up Harry’s statement about wanting to make sure the Queen is protected and has the ‘right people’ around her.
He quipped: ‘He wants to make sure she’s got the right people around her, which obviously doesn’t involve him because he scarpered.’
Reacting to the same quotation on GMB, Kate said this morning: ‘What does he mean? Does he mean other members of the royal family? Does he mean advisors to her? What does he mean?’

Netflix has revealed the trailer for a new documentary titled Our Father, which surrounds the chilling true story of an ex-fertility doctor who fathered more than 50 children by illegally artificially inseminating his sperm into women.
Donald Cline, a now disgraced fertility doctor, inseminated his own female patients with his sperm, fathering more than dozens of children.
In 2016, one of the children spoke out to a local news station, after discovering that six adults who had been conceived at Cline’s clinic in the 1970s and 1980s shared the same biological father.
One of them had taken a DNA test which had shown she was related to at least eight other people who had also taken those DNA tests.
The shocking truth from some of the siblings’ perspectives was revealed in April 2019, when The Atlantic further exposed Cline to have deceived multiple women and families by using his own sperm.
DNA testing allowed Cline’s biological children to find out who they really were, and discover the existence of many new half-siblings.
The documentary follows some of Cline’s biological children discovering this, as well as commenting on Cline’s own motivations behind his disturbing plan.
Our Father is a terrifying new documentary about former fertility doctor Donald Cline, who inseminated countless women without their knowledge or consent during the artificial insemination process. Streaming May 11.#ourfather#Netflixpic.twitter.com/I6OZDK7jsf
In the trailer, one sibling calls it ‘some sick experiment,’ while another points out ‘most of us have blonde hair, blue eyes,’ saying: ‘It’s almost like this perfect Aryan clan. It’s disgusting.’
Another sibling states how scary it is not knowing who they’re related to: ‘Please don’t let it be somebody I know, please don’t let it be someone I dated.’
The trailer also shows Cline in a new position of power, as ‘an elder of the church,’ and features the legal routes that siblings were unable to follow as Cline was never charged with sexual abuse or assault.
Viewers are shocked by the chilling trailer, with one writing: ‘Disgustingly fascinating… Yeah I think that fits.’
The trailer for #OurFather on Netflix is just crazy.
Another penned: ‘#OurFather on Netflix is actually insane,’ while a third wrote: ‘This is sick and intriguing.’
Someone else shared: ‘”Truth is stranger than fiction …”. Can say that again. This is horribly astonishing.’
In 2017, Cline, who had retired in 2009, pleaded guilty to two felony obstruction of justice charges after denying to investigators that he had used his own sperm to artificially inseminate patients.
A year later, Cline’s medical license was revoked by the Medical Licensing Board of Indiana, but he never actually spent any time in prison.
Our Father will be available on Netflix from May 11.

Aaron Paul has revealed that he asked his Breaking Bad co-star Bryan Cranston to be his baby’s godfather… and we can’t take their heartwarming friendship.
Following the news breaking that they were guest-starring on the show in the new season, Aaron admitted that he ‘can’t believe that we can talk about that’.
‘I didn’t think that we were going to be able to talk about it,’ he added.
Aaron and his wife Lauren, who he married in 2013, also have a four-year-old daughter called Story.
When it was revealed that Bryan and Aaron would be returning to the Breaking Bad universe, co-creator Peter Gould said at an event: ‘I don’t want to spoil things for the audience, but I will say the first question we had when we started the show was, “Are we gonna see Walt and Jesse on the show?” Instead of evading, I’ll just say yeah.’
‘How or the circumstances or anything, you’ll just have to discover that for yourself, but I have to say that’s one of many things that I think you’ll discover this season,’ he added.
Breaking Bad is available to watch on Netflix.

Britain’s Got Talent contestant Ferdinand Rennie has put the show on blast after claiming he was ‘stitched up’ following his Greatest Showman audition.
Over the weekend, the ITV competition came back with a bang as Simon Cowell was joined by Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and David Walliams on the judging panel after a two-year hiatus, with Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly back in the wings presenting.
However, Saturday’s episode was met with intense backlash after American singer Loren Allred – who lent her voice to the hit ballad Never Enough in the 2017 musical – was awarded a golden buzzer from Amanda.
During the series debut, viewers saw Ferdinand, 62, performing the same song to the judges before Loren took to the stage, however, his rendition didn’t wow them in the same way, with Simon saying: ‘You just murdered it.’
According to the contestant, he was completely unaware that Loren’s captivating performance would be shown immediately after his audition in the final TV cut.
‘There was no time for sound check, I was taken straight on stage and so you try to give your best,’ he told The Sun.

‘In the end, it was just a rush and I couldn’t even enjoy the moment on the beautiful palladium stage.’
He continued: ‘I understand other people are dealing with the same and sounded much better so I have the feeling everything was stitched up for me – stitched up to make Loren look better.’
Many BGT fans were left frustrated by Loren’s inclusion on the show and branded it ‘a farce’ and ‘unfair,’ considering the musician has already performed with the likes of Andrea Bocelli and Michael Bublé.
Both Britain’s Got Talent and Loren defended her spot on the show ahead of the episode airing.

‘We are thrilled to back this year and look forward to viewers watching our BGT bumper special on Saturday and Sunday this weekend,’ a BGT spokesperson said.
‘Whilst most people will have heard the infamous Greatest Showman track, Loren is not a household name, and she deserves her spot on the BGT stage.
‘We hope that such articles will not count against somebody who is well-deserving of this opportunity.’
Loren added: ‘Even though I have spent a lot of years in the music industry, people don’t know who I am. Over all these years I’ve been fighting for my chance to be known and to make it.’
Metro.co.uk has reached out to Britain’s Got Talent for comment.

Dan appeared on the progrramme to promote his new political drama Gaslit, which is based on the true events of the 1970s Watergate scandal that led to former US president Richard Nixon resigning.
Describing the show, he told presenters viewers: ‘Well, what you’ve got is a criminal for a leader who is wrapped in a messy war, embroiled in a stupid scandal and surrounded by ambitious idiots and really should resign and… no I’m sorry… that’s the intro to Boris Johnson.’
While may applauded the moment, the BBC has reported it has received complaints from some who were unhappy with the events that unfolded.
Defending the scenes, the corporation said in a statement: ‘The One Show is a live topical entertainment programme where the hosts are joined by a variety of guests to discuss a broad range of subjects.

‘Actor Dan Stevens was a guest on Wednesday April 13 and made comments about Boris Johnson in response to a question from the hosts about his new TV project before going on to talk about the series.
‘These comments were taken in jest and the hosts moved the conversation on to the focus of the interview.’
Dan spoke out after his One Show appearance, saying that he felt compelled to criticise the Prime Minister.
‘I think people need to be held to account and yeah, not a huge amount changes,’ he told GQ.
As a BBC programme, The One Show must follow the broadcaster’s impartiality guidelines.
But Dan added: ‘There’s impartiality. And then there’s just calling it like it is and just saying what is happening.
‘And I don’t think I said anything that should have been any surprise to anyone.’

‘Inexplicable things happening is my entire modus operandi’, says Nadia Vulvokov (played by Natasha Lyonne), and the phrase pretty much sums up season 2 of this mind-bending, time-travelling existential crisis of a TV show.
In the long-awaited new series, that’s been three years in the making, Nadia has somehow found her way out of season one’s continuous death loop, meaning she isn’t concerned about dying over and over again, however now she finds herself confronted with the deeper past.
However, rather than repeatedly dying and waking up at her 36th birthday party in her friend Maxine’s (played by Greta Lee) bathroom, Nadia’s new adventure sees her travelling back to pivotal moments in her family’s history.
Changing the events that led to the death of her paranoid schizophrenic mother Nora (Chloe Sevigny) suddenly seems within her grasp, however, the universe appears to have other plans for the genius computer software engineer.
With Charlie’s time-travelling antics taking him back to East Berlin in 1962, Nadia has the trip of a lifetime when she’s transported to New York in the 1980s and embodies her pregnant mother Nora, and then to Germany in 1944, where she becomes her grandmother Vera.

What happens in the ending to Russian Doll season 2?
After learning that she’s embodied her mother Nora at a critical time, she attempts to right her mother’s mistakes, which saw her lose her family’s fortune in the form of South African gold Krugerrands.
Nora had previously stolen the Krugerrands from her own mother Vera, which not only impacted her relationship with her mother but also strained her relationship with Nadia who was set to inherit the lot.

Therefore, she decides she must do everything she can to relocate the lost fortune, but realises that some things in the past are impossible to fix, using the analogy of a ‘Coney Island’ – something that, if it had happened, would have made everything better.
The concept of the ‘Coney Island’ is introduced by Nora’s dirtbag ex-boyfriend Chez (Sharlto Copley), who explains this whimsical ‘what if’ to Nadia, saying: ‘In our house, a Coney Island is the thing that would’ve made everything better, if only it had happened, or didn’t happen.’
Chez’s father had been infected with polio on a trip to Coney Island, and for the rest of his life, he lamented his choice to go there, but nothing can change the events of that summer.

However, it soon becomes apparent that even time travel can’t right the wrongs of the past – with Charlie still failing to ask out his crush Lenny in 1962 or to intervene with the daring Berlin Wall plan – and with Nadia repeatedly failing to reclaim her family’s lost fortune.
All these twists and turns bring Nadia to the finale of the season, where she has finally made peace with her past and future and decides to take a subway train home to 2022.

However, considering the show we’re talking about here, it’s no surprise that she’s actually whisked back to the 1980s again, where she relives the moment her mother Nora goes into labour with, yes, you guessed it, herself.
After the traumatic birth on a New York subway platform, Nadia decides she will return to the future with her baby self, in order to raise the child and give her the life she never had.

Our red-head protagonist ultimately decides to abandon her plans as she’s confronted with the ailing health of her beloved godmother Ruth (Elizabeth Ashley) – a long time smoker and tough-talking psychologist, who brought her up after her mother suffered a nervous breakdown.
After receiving a voicemail from her friend Maxine saying Ruth’s prognosis ‘doesn’t look good’, a lap around the hospital reveals that time has gone wonky yet again, as she meets multiple Ruths, but not present-day Ruth, leading to her realisation that she missed her beloved godmother’s final moments.

In the final episode, Nadia and Charlie are transported back to the original party at Maxine’s house, with the same echoing music playing on repeat.
The show closes in the midst of Ruth’s wake. Nadia is surrounded by friends, and the vibe is one of acceptance and closure, returning to the original bathroom, where she checks out her reflection with a knowing smile.
How many episodes are there in Russian Doll season 2 and how can I watch them?

Kaley Cuoco and The Flight Attendant co-star Zosia Mamet proved their admiration for one another remains strong after revealing their second set of matching tattoos.
The pair currently star in the Emmy-nominated HBO thriller, which returns for its second season later this month.
And a trip to the tattoo parlour was the perfect way to celebrate, according to Kaley, 36, and Zosia, 34.
The two actresses showcased their latest ink on Tuesday, with Big Bang Theory’s Kaley writing: ‘I ‘booped’ you many years ago @zosiamamet. Glad we made it official. Thank you @ar.bel for the perfection 🖤’
In a separate Instagram post, Zosia wrote: ‘It all started with a “boop” @kaleycuoco I can’t imagine life without you. @ar.bel thank you for this gorgeous permanent reminder. It’s perfect. 💕✨’
Curb Your Enthusiasm actress Cheryl Hines was gushing over the pair writing: ‘You guys are cuuuuuttee.’

American TV personality Kristen Doute added: ‘congrats on the new season cuties!’
Zosia and Kaley have made no secret how close they got during filming, and at a press event earlier two years ago they revealed how they felt like they’d known each other for years.
‘Kaley and I read together in a room of people and everyone was like, “Did you know each other before?” and immediately she bopped me on the nose and we did a little improv,’ Zosia told the audience.
‘It was love at first sight between us.’
The show originally premiered in November 2020, and followed Cassie (Kaley) after she found a dead body in her bed, with no recollection of what happened the night before.
On a mission to solve the murder and prove her innocence, Cassie gets tied up in more drama and complications.
The Flight Attendant season 2 premieres on April 21 on HBO Max in the UK and on May 26 on Sky Max and NOW in the UK.

Andrea says appearing on SAS: Who Dares Wins was the ‘best thing she ever did’ (Picture: Mike Marsland / WireImage)
Presenter and author Andrea McLean, 52, on leaving Loose Women and how appearing on SAS: Who Dares Wins changed her life.
Was it a huge decision to leave Loose Women?
When I announced I was leaving, I felt scared.
I wanted to do something for my website community, This Girl Is On Fire, because they’d just joined but I was putting down train tracks with the train coming behind me.
I came up with a challenge for about 200 women over a private Facebook group, designed to get them out of their comfort zone. Some results were instant and others happened a few months later, and that’s become my new book.
What changes have people made after reading it?
Some felt brave enough to speak up at work. Some women became agoraphobic due to the pandemic so they started being brave by going to the shops. It doesn’t have to be huge but if it makes you feel powerful, that’s a win.
Does it really take 10 days to be able to change your mindset?
Those 10 days flick the switch and are a catalyst for change. Obviously, you need to keep going with it.
In five days nothing’s really going to happen and seven days is ok but 10 days is enough of a commitment that you need to do this.
After about a month you start to see changes and your habits aren’t forced.

Do you feel more yourself now?
I’m lucky in that I was always me. When I was on TV, I was always the quietest spoken and I have always been very empathetic, kind and caring.
If someone new was on the panel, I’d always have them sit next to me so I could be there for them. Now I do that with every part of my work and I’ve always been really fascinated by human behaviour.
I spend my days interviewing Olympic coaches, mindset coaches and neurosurgeons so I’m living my best life talking to fascinating people.
I trained to be a life coach because I’m leading masterclasses and doing live sessions with the women in the community, and I wanted to make sure I was doing it properly.
The biggest misconception people might have is that I’ve left TV and become this person who knows everything. I don’t. But I know someone who does it and if I don’t, I’ll look into it.
You’ve been through a lot: two divorces, becoming a mum and stepmum, and a breakdown. Does that give you wisdom?
It’s not that I’m some holier-than-thou woman saying, ‘This is what you need to do to have an amazing life.’ I’m a 52-year-old woman who has fallen off the bike many times. Life is bumpy and I’ve been bumped.
I’ve experienced many of the things the women I’m speaking to are experiencing themselves, so there’s empathy there. Whether it’s the menopause because I had a hysterectomy, failed relationships… I’ve been through it and like to help.
You said doing SAS: Who Dares Wins changed the course of your life…
It did. It was the best thing I ever did. It was a perfect storm – everything that needed to happen did, in exactly the right order.
It made me address stuff from my past that I was carrying around and I would have probably kept going with that, like 90% of us do.
It was like the box opened and all the bats came out and I couldn’t get them back in. It made me stop and let them all go.
Other TV presenters, such as Fearne Cotton and Amanda Byram, are doing self-help stuff too. Why is that?
It probably happens to many people but they’re just not in the public eye.
All those people, and Anna Williamson as well, were doing a job in TV that we totally love but if you put us all in a room, we’re probably all very similar people – empathetic, sensitive, caring and kind interviewers who are interested in people’s stories rather than wanting to get a top line.
Fearne Cotton’s Happy Place podcast is a huge success (Picture: Eamonn M. McCormack Provider / Getty Images)
Do you stay in touch with the other Loose Women?
Not everybody but that’s the same as anyone who works in an office.
Even when I was there, we didn’t really go out very often because we live all over the country but there’s texting and messaging, and it was so good to go back on as a guest recently.
Are you planning to write more books?
Writing is my first love and why I moved to London to go to journalism college.
I misread a job advert that turned out to be working as a weather presenter for the Weather Channel.
I ignored the ‘onscreen presence’ bit and certainly didn’t have a showreel. But I got it. From there I went to GMTV in 1996 and left in 2020 so I finally feel like I’m back doing what I originally wanted to do.
The next book is going to be with my husband because in the second half of this year we’re launching This Guy Is On Fire to run alongside This Girl Is On Fire.
There are a few things I may be doing on TV later on this year too.
McLean is CEO of membership group This Girl Is On Fire. Her book You Just Need To Believe It: 10 Ways In 10 Days To Unlock Your Courage And Reclaim Your Power (Hay House) is out now.
