Strictly Come Dancing judge Len Goodman has blasted the recent claims that the show’s scoring is ‘fixed’.

The BBC One behemoth has come under fire this week after Jamelia strongly hinted that an extra standing ovation had been recorded during last weekend’s dance-off in a bid to keep Peter Andre in the competition.

Meanwhile departing pro dancer Ola Jordan also launched a stinging attack on the show last weekend when she accused the judges of ‘under-marking’ certain performers.

But speaking on spin-off show It Takes Two on Wednesday night Len – who admitted he… Read the full story

Olly Murs has revealed he would ‘jump’ at a chance to star in EastEnders – and he’s even got Shane Richie on board to help him land a role.

Probably as a Troublemaker.

‘I’d love to do acting,’ Olly admitted, ‘I love EastEnders’.

Speaking to The Sun, Olly revealed that acting is something he has always wanted to do but he’s just not sure if he’ll have the time.

‘I’ve spoken to Shane Richie, I’ve told everyone down there that if there’s ever an idea or a role and you think I could do it then I would jump at it.’

But maybe Olly should… Read the full story

The BBC Trust has confirmed that youth channel BBC3 will be closed by February 2016, despite huge opposition.

The channel, which has been running for 12 years and was the home to popular shows including Little Britain, Bad Education, and Don’t Tell The Bride, will then become an online-only service from March 2016.

Reports suggested that the BBC expected to lose nearly 1million younger viewers after research showed that up to 80 per cent of the audience who use no other BBC service could switch off.

However a BBC Trust spokesperson told Metro.co.uk: ‘It’s not the case that 80% of BBC3’s audience… Read the full story

John Cleese says he doesn’t want to be on TV again.

The British actor has hit out at the BBC, despite starring in both Monty Python and Fawlty Towers for them.

Cleese says he has no interest in returning to the small screen, and that he prefers to read rather than watch the box.

He told Shortlist: ‘There’s no way I want to work in TV, especially at the BBC.

Fay Ripley has admitted that returning to the hit TV show Cold Feet will be ‘hard’ without Helen Baxendale returning as well.

‘The only thing I do know is that Helen [Baxendale] isn’t going to be doing it and that’s actually going to be the hardest thing because we are all probably going to slot back into the on set roles that we had, but Helen won’t be there,’ Fay told the Loose Women audience during an emotional discussion.

‘So it’ll be slightly odd, and she is such a lovely girl and friend of mine.’

Happy Thanksgiving!

For some hard core Friends fans, Thanksgiving is not about the time the pilgrims invited the native Americans to a harvest feast. It’s about that time Joey ate a nine pound turkey while wearing Phoebe’s maternity trousers, and when all of Monica’s fancy china got broken, and the time that Brad Pitt showed up but refused to eat complex carbohydrates.

The Friends Thanksgiving episodes are some of the best to sit and watch and get all festive.

There’s the one where they all reminisced about their best and worst Thanksgivings, the one where a giant dog-shaped balloon got loose and nearly ruined… Read the full story

Viewers were left bemused while watching I’m A Celebrity last night when an experimental new method of contacting the camp with news bombed live on air – leading to an irritated exclamation from the presenters being accidentally broadcast.

Instead of walking in to camp to inform the members that one team was about to be banished to Snake Rock, they decided to give them a bell on the phone box – and a number of glitches ensued which guarantee they won’t try it again!

Ant rang through and spoke to Vicky to start with. While he relayed the message that the winning team, comprising of Vicky, Duncan and George, were… Read the full story

Coronation Street bosses have strongly denied reports that they have been developing a storyline which would see a Muslim character turn extremist.

The Sun stated that the plot line had been ‘confirmed’ and that casting would take place for a character that would be involved in the shocking storyline, which would have inevitably caused serious controversy, particularly in the wake of the recent attacks in Paris.

But, when contacted by Metro.co.uk, a spokesperson for the show denied that any such storyline was planned, saying: ‘There are absolutely no plans to introduce a Muslim extremist or radicalisation storyline into Coronation Street.’

A show source also explained that while the idea had once… Read the full story

The first I’m A Celebrity…elimination of the 2015 series is looming – and there’s a possibility we could be bidding a premature farewell to Lady C.

That’s because the socialite has found herself in the firing line – along with Susannah Constantine and Yvette Fielding – following a series of team challenges which saw the campmates trying to win immunity from the chop.

Thursday night’s show saw the celebrities divided in to colour co-ordinated teams of three – pink, blue, purple and yellow – and saw them working their… Read the full story

Did Phil Mitchell murder Vincent's dad? BBC
(Picture: BBC/Metro)

With the revelation that Vincent Hubbard is on a secret campaign to bring down the Mitchells, there is clearly some big drama ahead. But could the police informant have more of a motive for destroying Phil than just keeping his bargain with the boys in blue?

Viewers seem to think so – with many speculating that Phil may have been responsible for the death of Vincent’s father. Remember when Phil torched the car lot back in 1994 and a homeless man was accidentally killed?

Some reckon it could have been Henry Hubbard, given that Vincent has kept a cutting of the newspaper article around the tragedy:

But it turns out no-one was more affected by the scene than Bryan Cranston.

The actor, who played Walter White in the hugely popular series, got seriously choked up while discussing the moment his character stands by and watches the drug addict die from choking on her own vomit.

While filming the scene Bryan saw the face of his own daughter Taylor, who was around the same age as Jane, and he’s still haunted by the experience.

Former X Factor winner Sam Bailey has admitted that she thinks it’s time the once mega-successful talent show was rested.

The Simon Cowell vehicle, which has seen ratings slump over recent years leading to it being defeated in overnight figures by even Countryfile, is currently building up to its finals but has been beset with numerous criticisms – particularly surrounding its refreshed judging panel.

And Bailey, who won the tenth series in 2013, clearly is not a fan of the changes.

She said: ‘It does seem that The X Factor is coming to the end of its shelf life. I wouldn’t be stood in my extended kitchen without the show, but it seems to have gotten… Read the full story
