A case of mistaken identity propels the Doctor into another adventure with River Song as she attempts to steal the most valuable diamond in the universe.

Doctor Who Christmas specials are a strange beast. They have to appeal to a broader audience than usual, many of whom may only watch the show once a year. They often form a bridge between one series finale and the start of the next. And they have to embrace the seasonal spirit in a show which is generally at its most comfortable when dealing with terrifying aliens bent on conquest.

As a result, most Christmas specials have either been so closely tied to a wider story arc… Read the full story

Sprogs

The usual Gogglebox families were replaced with a load of kids to create Gogglesprogs and it was pretty much genius.

As were the kids hosting the show.

Like with the adult show, the sprogs were shown programmes that had aired during the year, from a documentary about babies to Jurassic Park, and a seriously emotional programme about Kenya which showed baby elephants nearly drowning. And of course the kids’ reactions were captured on camera.

And listening to their reactions was incredibly insightful. In fact, there were a million mini life lessons hidden in the chat between a load of pre-teens.

Following the car accident, Phil went on to learn that he has severe liver disease after an injury from his seat belt revealed his blood can’t clot properly meant he is very unwell indeed.

Stacey also dropped another bombshell when Shabnam confronted her about the paternity of her baby – it’s not Kush.
